I was asked to start this off. I'll go first, followed by Grimm, then ULI, just for consistency sake. As Grimm said, no villains this time. Blaze, when you're ready, you'll follow Grimm and go before ULI, okay?
After the desolation Luther had caused, and subsequently fled from, there were many casualties of his attack. Not all were lethal, but many would be in rehab for months, and others would never walk again. Atom was tended to by his friends until paramedics were able to get to him from everybody that was on their wait list. Only one was allowed to go with him, and Ivan lost the rock-paper-scissors match. Alice kept trying to help as much as she could, but with Atom's bones not set correctly there wasn't much possible. Upon reaching the hospital, Alice was asked to wait as Atom was brought to the emergency room. Being one of dozens, help was slow, and his diagnosis continued creeping towards worse. Upon being treated, it was discovered that he had a dozen cases of internal bleeding, an entire arm fractured, the other snapped, five cracked ribs, at least three chips in his neck, two burst spinal discs and all four limbs dislocated. Most thought it was a miracle he had survived. The internal bleeding was dealt with surgically, along with his broken arms being set and put into casts and his spinal discs replaced. The paramedics slung his limbs back into place, but could do nothing about his ribs. He was put with the others who were subcritical in the secondary medical wing, and Alice, being the one who came with him, was told his diagnosis. She wanted to just heal all of his injuries, but Clate stopped her before she tried to break into the medical wing to see Atom, telling her that a fractured arm was completely shattered and had to heal naturally, and that most of his other injuries were still workaround-able. Through word of Chronogian, it was discovered that Grimm's entire White Void was destroyed, and his whereabouts were unknown, as were his Bakugan. Around the world, the Chaos Bakugan he had given a home to came down like rain and were scattered, unable to find each other. Atom's computer algorithm was likely still functional, but because he had changed his password and not told Clate, it was impossible to get into it to check. And upon Alice asking if it was possible to see Atom, it was stated that his condition was still too critical for visitors. She vowed to wait until Atom was well enough for her to see him, so that he could tell her his computer password so she could go searching for her brother. In the meantime, Ivan was tasked with trying to figure out as much as possible in regards to what Destruction had planned and whereabouts of his generals. To that list, he added finding everything he could about why Malcom was on Earth and what he had planned. And that brings us to now.
My eyes fluttered open, and I coughed. "Where am I?" I croaked out. My throat was extremely dry. I tried to sit up, only to feel like there was an elephant on me, and feel my arms burn. My right arm hurt a lot less than by left, but both were unbearable. I fell back onto by back. "What happened?" I looked around, seeing that I was in a hospital room. "How badly was I injured?" I suddenly felt a massive headache as all the pain registered from my entire body. "OW!" I said. Groggy, waking up, it mattered not. I was WIDE awake now. "Okay, I need to go over everything that happened in that battle, figure out counter strategies, and get myself healed."
I raised my right arm to throw the covers off of me, only to discover a thick cast on both parts of it. "Wait, what?" I raised my left arm, and felt an intense pain. It, too, was in a cast, but the cast ran up the entire arm rather than both parts individually. I had to put it back down because of the pain. "Jeez. I've never been banged up this badly." I moved my legs and managed to kick the covers off to the side. It was then that I realized my clothes had been taken off at some point, probably because of the surgery. My thighs were red and slightly swollen. "What didn't I hurt?" I wondered. I swung my legs to the side, and attempted to stand. Upon trying to place any pressure on my legs, an intense, burning sensation ran up them, forcing me back on the hospital bed. "So, my arms are broken, my legs were probably dislocated" I rubbed my neck and felt a few hard pieces between me and the bones, "I chipped my neck too. Great." I twisted a little, feeling my back crack. "I'm just going to assuming something happened to that." I then felt my chest, at least, as much as I could. "And a few cracked ribs. Joy. All in all, it could be worse, I suppose. At least I'm alive." My right arm swung down, hitting a button on the bed. The door opened.
"Yes?" Asked the Nurse. She looked at the room number. "Mr, uh, Atom, right?" She checked the medical log. "Shattered arm and snapped arm, chipped neck, all four limbs dislocated, two burst Spinal Discs, five cracked ribs and 14 sections of internal bleeding. Cause, suburbs attack." She looked at me, and rushed over. "Oh no, you are in no condition to get out of bed!" She gently laid me back down. "You're a lucky, lucky young man, you know that? There's an extremely high chance of those injuries killing someone is just ten minutes. You managed to survive for over three hours before being treated. It's a miracle you survived."
"It must've been Alice." I mumbled. "I just wish it was possible to do more, but with those injuries, natural healing is the only way."
"What was that?" Asked the nurse. She didn't wait for a response. "Can I get you anything? Water? Food?"
"Can you get me a bottle of water?" I asked.
"Sure thing. Be back in a moment." She began to walk off.
"Also, is there someone in the waiting room named Alice or Ivan?" The nurse stopped.
"Yes, there is, but you're not allowed to have visitors right now. You have had intensive surgery and still have a few cuts that are partially open. We're in a Code Black situation right now, and we wouldn't be able to treat you if you got sick. So, before you ask, no. No visitors. Now, I'll be right back with your water. Just stay laying down and relax. It's not like you being in this condition is the end of the world. Give it a few months, and you'll be good to go!" She exited the room, closing the door behind her.
"Except me being incapacitated might actually be the end of the world." I muttered. My head still pounding, I thought about the battle and the after effects. "I've probably been weakened further since Dharak reducing our powers. Just how many more power setbacks am I going to have before my training is complete?"
"Who knows?" Asked someone. I looked around, trying to find the source. "Your head really is scrambled, isn't it?" The voice came from my mind.
"Jeez, it really must be." I said. "Sorry Clate, I didn't realize it was you." I thought of something. "Wait! Where's Leo?!"
"Relax, he's next to you." Said Clate. I looked at the bedside table to see Leo, closed up. "He was badly injured too, and we couldn't get him to wake up. Reginas is fairly confident he'll be back to normal in a few days, but we can't say the same about you. You're kinda stuck here for a while."
"That's not something that can be." I replied. "Clate, I'm the only one of our group who can access Light to combat Destruction and his Generals. The others, well, they don't stand a chance. Ivan has barely begun to make strategies to beat me, Alice can't create a bright enough light to stop even the weakest of dark attacks, and who knows where Grimm is at this point? If my theory was right, then he was probably attacked too. For all we know, he's KIA." Clate was silent. "I need to get back to the apartment. I've been working on something since the attack by the monkey a while ago, and it may be our only chance." The door opened.
"Here's your water." She placed a cup down on the bedside table, then looked at me. "Oh no you don't! I know that look! It's the look of 'I have somewhere I need to be and I need to leave the Hospital now!' look. Don't try it with me young man! You're staying right there until we can guarantee your physical health, and with how many people we're treating that could be days to weeks before you're checked! So don't move, for your own good!" She left the room, closing the door quickly. I heard it lock, the deadbolt sliding into place.
"Well, she's right." Said Clate. "You're not moving anytime soon." I groaned. "Don't worry, we'll get something figured out. I'll go tell Alice the good news." Clate left my mind, heading for Alice.
"I need to get out of here ASAP." I thought.
Clate returned to Alice through the small speck of darkness he had left with her. "Well, good news and bad news. Good news, Atom's awake, and we're able to talk with him. Bad news, he's not leaving anytime soon. He's out of commission until later. However, he did say that he has been working on something since the attack a while ago in the magical world, and I think it's in the apartment somewhere. But, he didn't give me any clues as to where it would be or what it would be. Also, he's not allowed to have visitors any sooner than he is going to be let out. We're on our own for now, so that means I'm following your lead. But, here's my suggestion. We need to find Ivan and go to the apartment. We'll likely find something there if all three of us work together, right?" He was silent for a moment. "And yes, I'm worried about Atom and Grimm. But we can't focus on them for now. If need be, I can ask Atom for his computer password and we can try to find him that way. For now, though, let's go find Ivan, okay?" Clate sunk into her mind, waiting for her response.
