Tank was trying his best to hold back a giant smile when Brackeen got kicked out of the meeting. If there's anyone that Tank can't stand right now, it'd be him. That man has had it out for him and Markus ever since they became pros. Too strong this, too strong that. He even thought it'd be beneficial to everyone if they just threw matches against everyone else so people don't get bored. How ridiculous can one get?
"I think...that you really need more than the both of us," Tank started to explain. "Your point about politics...pretty much revolves around us. We're the top pros AND we're Resistors. People put our names with what's going on in people's heads about Bakugan right now. We could help save the world a few more times, but they'll keep believing what they want to. All they see in us are vigilantes who are dangers to society. The Army - despite all the junk they have in their closet - helps them believe that, and those 'vigilantes' are the only big names left."
"THAT is why we're in this mess, but... You can fix it by making us the villains they want us to be. That'd only work if there were legit ones out there that could challenge us. As much as I hate to admit it, Damian and Jamal were pulling in big crowds when they were here. Maybe you can get Vestal in on this."

"That's if people don't hate them too," Houston sighed. "I wouldn't be surprised if a couple of them blame the Spartans for all the mess with those Hurranians. Still, that's the best suggestion I've heard of so far. Those guys weren't playing around. If they could pull in those numbers, I'd actually have a compelling incentive to invest in powering up the barriers to contain all of you freaks of nature. No offense, of course. You guys are getting expensive with how insane your powers are."
Houston jotted some notes down on his notepad concerning Tank's comments. "Uh...I'm assuming you know how to get in contact with Vestal, so...keep me updated on that. Thanks."
"Mr. Hederick, what do you think about that?"

"Surprisingly, Tank hit the nail right on the head," Markus summed up. "But..." he interjected as he had his own ideas to add into the mix. "I think we need to be talking about what's coming out of high school and the NCAA as well. NCAA had very little violations, if any were reported. High school was a complete madhouse. That right there is a nationwide problem for youth who may be interested in brawling, and a long-term problem for the BBBA if parents aren't allowing their children to participate after seeing what we've been doing and what has happened to the cheaters."
"There's a couple of people in Division 1 I like for competition. Tracy's an obvious one if she ever decides to go pro. There's Kendall, Vladimir, Olivia, Nicole. Webster the Professor. Division 2 and 3 are looking very good too. But after that, what do we have to work with? High school has been pitiful lately."

"That...is a very good point..." Houston commended. He wrote that stuff down too. "Noland, Allen, and Alana are guaranteed contracts if they ever got back into the swing of things. Still, I need to look further than just three people...and that's really hard to do for reasons you just described... It's all making more sense now..."
After he said that, he got a notification on his phone. Whatever he ended up getting made him wide-eyed, not in the 'we're fucked' kinda way, but for excitement.
"Check this out, gentlemen. There's this young lady at the Complex who is kicking everyone's ass. She's got her own band of misfits too."

"We'll be the judge of that," Tank volunteered almost instantly. He didn't waste any time calling someone who would be perfect for gauging how good this girl really is. "No way we're getting fooled like last time."
"Except everyone knew Maurice was full of shit..." Gladion spoke up. "At least those of us who weren't stupid."
"Hey, Hardy. I got a job for ya," Tank communicated. "What's in it for you? You owe me. Remember that time I told you that Alana was going to invite herself into your house and hang out in your room when you weren't home? Well, you do now since I just told you. Now, do Markus and I a solid and scout some girls who may or may not suck."

Tank's 'insistence' that Noland checks out who this girl was prompted Noland to go to the Complex alongside Allen and Alana. After hearing what Tank said about her, Alana was pouting while they were walking up to the facility's entrance. It also didn't help that she was stuck on Darius duty. He was walking close to her in a clinging fashion, like he was never going to go anywhere else.
"He didn't have to snitch like that," Alana irritably complained. "I was only in there to surprise our sweet little boy. Is that really bad enough to drag me on this little adventure?"

Allen chose to be smart and not comment on anything involving Alana and Noland's 'situation'. Maybe if he just acts like he doesn't know what they're talking about, he won't get in trouble for saying something he shouldn't. Maybe saying something about who they're here for would be better to talk about.
"Suppose these girls aren't just hype machines like Maurice was. Is that worth going into competition again?" Allen asked both of them.

Noland chose to ignore Alana's comment for right now. The good news was that she was here to spend time with Maurice. That was all he was worried about. He didn't look all that concerned about Alana being in his room at all. As for Allen's question:
"Probably not," Noland spoke for himself. "All this power is starting to make competing boring when we're blowing everyone else away. Winning doesn't mean what it used to when we were freshmen. I'll change my mind if Team Blaster agrees to come back. Those guys were good. What are you thinking about?"

"Hmmm. I was thinking the same thing," Allen seemed to agree. "Plus, it's only these girls we'd be worried about if they're strong. There was nothing like being at nationals and knowing that everyone else could beat us. Here's to hoping that whoever we're looking for could be a rival. Having a rival like Jamal really helped me step up my game. Not that you guys don't, but...it's always more of the same."
"It's a shame we could only participate in the Trial, but not the Knights' in-house tournaments and whatnot," Gorem regretted. "Guess that's what you get for being a civilian and not being 'official'."

"That's because they're scared of us kicking their sorry asses," Hydranoid blurted out from Darius' hair.
"Eh, that'd be a good situation to recruit us for, so...I dunno..." Alana shrugged. "Maybe it's more for military practice than sport."
"Because that red-haired Admiral challenged Noland to a battle for military purposes. I know," Hydranoid summed up.
"...Can't really argue against that logic," Alana surrendered as they walked into the facility. "Anyway, I'm in a different position than you guys since I never got to experience competition for...obvious and unspeakable reasons..."
"Oh, and Darius, please keep your relation to us a secret, okay? We don't want that information public right now."

"Okay," Darius complied. He quickly tossed that to the side when he looked around to see how awesome the place looked. He saw pinball tables and a Ms. Pacman and Galaga machine to his left. He also saw the track to his right. He did see people point towards them, which is likely due to three Resistors being there. Or, it could be that they have a notorious reputation after Noland, Tank, and Tracy getting banned a few years ago.
"This place looks amazing!" Darius cheerfully expressed. "Is this where you go to see awesome battles? Are you gonna fight here?"

"Yes, and only if the people here are strong enough," Noland answered. "It's not a good thing to bully those much weaker than you. Unless they're bad guys, don't fight them unless you have no other choice."
"I'm not one of those weaklings, am I?" a girl asked Noland. She came from Noland's right from the indoor track.
"Lian? Long time, no see," Noland happily greeted.
"Likewise. It's good to see all of you," Lian returned. Hugs were exchanged between them all. "Who's this?"
"Godson," Noland lied. "We're here to show him some battles. We've been tipped about some girls here who are really good."

"Girl," Lian corrected. "There's only one who I'd consider a threat for now. She's causing people to surrender by using some power through a necklace she's wearing. Some of them are top-ranked brawlers too."
"Do you know what she's packing?" Allen wondered.
"Not a clue," Lian shrugged. "I haven't been in there too much. I'm trying to get ready for indoor track. Nowadays, I mainly use brawling to help my own physical and mental strength for me being a multi. The Hurranian fiasco ruined me mentally in that regard. I'm not really privy to what's going on anymore."
"I'm sorry to hear that. You were one of the great ones," Allen commended.
"I appreciate that. What a great year that was when I got to fight you. I miss that," Lian admitted. "If you guys are fighting this year, would it be too much trouble if I trained with you?"
"No trouble at all," Allen accepted. "Just make sure you come ready. If this girl is beating people with a necklace, there's no telling how this year is gonna end up."
"Yeah...I can only imagine. I just finished up with practice, so I was gonna head over there now. Could I join you?"

"Of course," Noland accepted without delay. The party walked towards the battle arenas where they found a pretty robust crowd. Everyone was there sharpening their skills and not focusing on one particular person. This was a great sign, because people are starting to become mentally tougher to not allow one strong person to derail their improvement rate.
"I have to say...this is very unusual," Lian expressed. "Don't they usually pause what they're doing whenever someone 'special' comes in? Like that time when Jamal came in."
"The Spartans came here looking for fights," Noland said to offer a distinction between the situations. "Even that time when I got banned, no one paid too close attention to me until Karen framed me." Noland paused what he was saying for a second to take notice of an unfamiliar energy signatures. Noland winced a little bit, which showed that whatever he was feeling made him very concerned.
Noland began walking without telling the party where he was going.

"Umm..." Lian didn't know what to really say...
"I'm guessing we're following," Alana indicated.
"Yo, what up girl?" a teenage boy said to Alana out of nowhere.
"We're moving," Alana announced to the party, ignoring yet another guy trying to get at her. They followed Noland to the far side of the area. There was an arena where there was a girl on one side of the arena doing homework while brawlers were attacking her. There was a barrier of invisible energy that formed whenever someone sent an attack or attempting to move past a certain point. It continuously demoralized every challenger while she was getting some schoolwork done.
"Found her," Alana knew.
