Season 4, Ep 6: A Brewing Storm

After the defeat of his team captain, Greil Saratoshi of the Krakkens steps up to the plate. His opponent is a member of the mysterious Team Shadow Storm, the 14 year old Aquos prodigy, Kaito Sakoi. Despite his age, Kaito has managed to quickly climb up the ranks and make it into the Final 16. Can Greil avenge Bryce? or will he be swept away like his partner?

[Kaito Sakoi]

The aquos brawler stood on his side of the arena with a smirk already planted on his face. He had heard of this brawler before, he liked the sound of brawling another aquos brawler. He had wanted a challenge for a long time now. He opened his mouth, "so, you are my opponent..." The words came out with smooth confidence. The smirk still planted firmly on his face. Looking at his opponent, he gave a wave. Just to intimidate his opponents a bit.

His bakugan came out of his of the slender boy's pocket and on to his shoulder. The bakugan nodded it's head back and forth as it spoke to it's master. "Shall we?" The bakugan's head stopped nodding as the boy then spoke, "We shall," As he finished his talk with his bakugan he then said softly, "Set the gate so i can put this guy out of his misery," The field lighted up as the gate appeared.

"Bakugan brawl! Stand Kado!"

A voice soon rang out, 'Aquos kado stands at 800G.'

Griel walked into the stadium and looked across the arena to see his opponent for this round standing there staring at him. Griel seen his opponent "Kaito" as they call him standing there with a smirk on his and then he seen him wave. "I wonder what he's smirking about over there? Maybe he actually thinks he's going to win this brawl and move on to the top 8?" Greil said out loud but not loud enough for anyone but Megalodon to hear. He was talking to himself. Megalodon then jumped out of Griel's pocket and floated in front of his face. Maybe....maybe he does think he'll beat us. His smirk does look confident. Well partner what do you say we wipe that smirk of his face?"

"Sounds like a plan buddy lets get you out there so you can fight." "I'm ready." Griel grabs Megalodon and cocks his arm back then he throws his arm forward and releases his bakugan and it lands on the gate card. "Bakugan Brawl! Bakugan Stand! Rise from the depths to hunt your prey! Aquos Megalodon! 800G! Come on body lets get him. It looks like it's a clash of oceans." Megalodon transformed out of his ball form and stood up. As he stood up he spun his trident around and said. "Kado you're about to meet your demise."

Griel then heard the voice of his CDS: "Aquos Megalodon is at 800G, Aquos Kado is also at 800G."

Kaito's smirk soon turned in to a smile. This brawlers was a confident one indeed. Him and his bakugan seem like one, and by the looks of things they have beaten harder brawlers then the brawlers he had brawled before. But, if this kid is anything like his captain, he was just all talk and no play. "hey Kado, how do you feel about fighting that great oaf?" The bakugan turned to hi partner, "well, he isn't really intimidating, so who knows?" Kaito then lowered his smile back down to a smirk as he found the card he wanted.

"ability activate!
Fury Wave!"

The voice then said another short sentence, "This ability allows Kaito to drop his opponents G-power to 0G-power, he may also say an effect that the opponent must use every turn."

Kaito looked his opponent in the eye as he said, "User always has the disadvantage," The giant aquos dragon flew up and soon came hurdling towards the opponents bakugan. The opponent had to think fast.

The voice then sounded again "Kado is at 800G, and Megalodon is at 0G"

As Kado jumped into the air Megalodon looked up at him and said "You're silly tricks mean nothing to me. Griel give me something to strike him down with." "Ok, easy enough." said Griel as he smirked confidently. Griel then yelled out "Double ability activate! Dragged down to the depths and Plasma prison." "Take this Kado! You're going down." Megalodon said as he jumped in the air after Kado. He then fired his trident at the ground and the water level began to rise. The water level raised to about 8 feet and both the brawlers were then taken to pillers that were 12 feet tall on opposite ends of the arena.

Megalodon then grabbed onto Kado and dove straight down into the water bringing Kado with him. After Megalodon pulled Kado to the bottom of the water he fired his trident at him. Encasing him in an invisible goo like plasma that prevented movement. Nobody noticed but the gate card was also switched when the water was rising.

Dragged down to the Depths: I can change any of your card effect(s) to one card effect(s) in my bakupack and I get to use the effect. I'll change your fury wave into my Plasma Tidal Wave which prevents you from activating normal abilities and transfers 400G each turn.

Plasma Prison: Switch the gate card on the field to a gate card from your bakupack. Gain 400G each turn.

Then the voice of the CDS said "Aquos Megalodon is at 1600G, Aquos Kado is at 400G."

Kaito's smile did not cease to exist as Megalodon encased his bakugan in the sticky plasma. He clapped his hands together in mock approval of his opponent. "Very good, Greil, you managed to trap my bakugan. I wonder how long that's gonna last?" He snapped his fingers as his eyes flashed blue from activating an ability on his CDS. "Special Ability Activate! Hydra Gatling!"

He gave a confident smirk to his opponent as his bakugan started to glow blue. The plasma started to dissolve around Kado as he ascended above the water. By the time the Aquos bakugan reached the surface, he was free from the trap that Megalodon had set. He then coiled back like a snake and released a barrage of glowing blue energy bullets that sliced through the water like butter. The attacks caused explosions of water to occur, splashing the audience with the sheer force of each bullet.

"Hydra Gatling," Kaito explained, "This changes the very description of your bakugan to say that they may only use the cards of "____." "_____" is any one of my bakugan from my bakupack. I will make it so Megalodon has to use Kado's cards. Because your bakugan can only use Kado's cards, all cards that aren't Kado's are now useless to Megalodon, that's why your goo trap failed. Good luck trying to use cards you don't have."

"And that's not even the best part," Kaito continued., "Those little bullets have a nasty habit of draining away your energy with every hit. Their power makes Megalodon lose 400G per turn."

The voice sounded, "Kado is at 800G, Megalodon is at 0G."

Greil smirked as the energy bullets sliced through the water. The attacks were spot on, but the water was Megalodon's element. He easily dodged the bullets by bobbing and weaving through the water. "Heh." Megalodon taunted as he swam, "For someone with your skill, you have way too much confidence." Greil nodded as the smirk lay plastered to his face. He yelled out, "Ability Activate! Plasma Typhoon!" "Now I'll show you a REAL attack!"

Megalodon stopped swimming and turned around so that he was looking at his flying opponent. As the continuous stream of bullets were aimed at his location, the shark-like bakugan took in a deep breath of water then released a massive stream of invisible goo-like plasma, just like the plasma that made the Plasma Prison, that absorbed the incoming bullets. The stream continued to head towards Kado, threatening to encase him in more plasma.

Plasma Typhoon: Negate/Reflect any effect(s) and transfer 400G each turn. I'll Reflect your Hydra Gatling so that you must only use Megalodon's cards and you lose 400G per turn.

Thanks to Plasma Prison, I gain 400G per turn.

The voice of the CDS said: "Aquos Megalodon is at 2400G, Aquos Kado is at 0G."

As the attack from Megalodon headed towards his bakugan, Kaito kept smiling. His opponent was one tough customer, but he doubted that it would be enough to defeat him. This Greil guy was good, but soon he, as well as the rest of the world, would fall to the might of Kaden and Shadow Storm. This was his chance to prove that.

"Ability Activate!" He shouted as he gestured for Kado to attack, "Shadow Water!" Kado roared as he turned blue in order to charge up an attack. As the sticky, goo-like plasma rushed towards him, he unleashed a stream of black water that sliced through the substance, dissolving it in an instance.

Kaito started to laugh, "I love using this card. You see, it reflects all of your effects back to you no matter how powerful they are. Also, I wouldn't let that water touch Megalodon if I were you. If it hits, the water will drain away his G-Power until it reaches a level of 0G. Haha! Good luck with that!"

The voice rang out, "Kado is at 800G, Megalodon is at 0G."

Greil returned Kaito's remarks with a confident smile, he wasn't going to go down so easily. However, this punk kid was making things a little more difficult for him and Megalodon. Then again, what was a brawl without a little bit of challenge? If the tournament was too easy then it wouldn't be any fun. "You're a cocky little punk. I'll give you that. But I have the upper hand."

"Ability Activate!" He shouted to his partner, "Plasma Shield!" Megalodon's body becomed surrounded by a bubble of sticky goo. However, when the black water from the Shadow Water attack hits it. It doesn't dissolve like the other plasma. "Hah!" Megaladon taunts his foe, "This particular plasma is impervious to almost every form of enemy attack. In other words, you can't win!" Megalodon leaps into the air and charges after Kado.

Plasma Shield: Protect you bakugan, support weapons and effects from being affected. Subtract 400g from your opponent every turn.

The voice of the CDS said: "Aquos Megalodon is at 2400G, Aquos Kado is at 0G."

[Kaito Sakoi]

Kaito smirked at his opponent. "Hah! This is rich. You're using a shield as an offensive maneuver? How sad, what do you think Kado?" Kado let out a throaty laugh, "These two are pretty pathetic. We need to show them what a real attack looks like." Kaito nodded. Despite the confidence of his opponent. He was sure that he and Kado had the greater resolve.

"Ability Activate!" He shouted as his eyes flashed blue, "Come-Back!" Kado's body glowed with a radiant blue energy as he started to twist in the air. He twisted at such a rapid speed that his body became an aerial drill. He rammed into Megalodon's Plasma Shield. At first, the sticky, goo-like plasma attached itself to Kado and slowed down his movements. However, the drilling continued and quickened as the goo began to drilled away by Kado's strength."

"Heh," Kaito chuckled, "You can't stop me. Come-Back gives me 400G for each card of mine that you nullified. I also nullify all of your effects.

The voice rang out, "Kado is at 1600G, Megalodon is at 0G."

Greil grinned slyly at his opponent. Kaito was good, real good. There was no doubt that this kid had skill, otherwise, he wouldn't be fighting him at that current moment. This kid had quite an unorthodox style that made him tough to beat. However, as good as this kid was, Greil refused to let a fourteen year old and his punk of a bakugan make fools out of him and Megalodon. THis battle wasn't over yet, not by a longshot. His eyes flashed a bright blue as he thought up of a quick and easy way to stay on top.

"Special Ability Activate!" He shouted, "Trident Strike! Don't let them win this one, Megalodon!" "Got it!" Megalodon responded to his partner as the Ability was activated. While Kado continued to drill through the Plasma Shield. Megalodon continued charging towards his Aquos foe. When Kado completely broke through the shield, Megalodon was waiting for him with an orb of the invisible goo-like plasma in his hands. He waited for the moment where Kado stopped spinning and started to charge in a straight-forward attack at him. When his opponent did that, the orb was fired at Kado, splitting into three orbs and knocking him out of the sky and into the water.

Trident Strike: Negate/Reflect any effect(s) and transfer 400G each turn.

The voice of the CDS said: "Aquos Megalodon is at 2800G. Aquos Kado is at 0G."

Kaito became frustrated as his bakugan was knocked out of the sky by Megalodon's Plasma Reflector attack. Kado landed in the water with a splash that got many members of the audience wet. The crowd went wild as the battle was reaching its climax. Even Kaito knew that if he didn't do something fast, he would be out. No, he had told himself, he couldn't lose this fight, not a chance in the world. If he wanted Master Kaden's approval, he would have to win this fight and crush his opponent thoroughly. He had to show Master Kaden, and the rest of Shadow Storm that he wasn't a punk kid, despite the taunting of Valentina and Makuto. Kaito's mind came to a simple resolution: He would win this fight.

He smirked at Greil, with confidence returning and spoke with a bit of a laugh, "So you think that a bit of goo and some side-show stunts are enough to beat me? I don't think so. This isn't your fight to win. It is mine and it was mine from the very beginning." He held up his left hand, revealing a glowing blue ring. "Evo-Gear, Engage! Gahan, Activate!" Kado started to glow with a brilliant radiance. When the light died down, Kado looked the same except for one small factor. On his back was a massive growth. This stranged appendage looked liike some sort of sniper rifle attached to Kado's back.

Kaito laughed. "Alright, let's get down to buisness. Kado! Unleash the full potential of your Evo-Gear!" The appendage on Kado's back started to charge up as the field suddenly changed. The people, the arena, the sky; they were all gone. In its place was a world that was completely underwater. Both brawlers stood on the sea floor, despite the fact that humans cannot breathe underwater. "Quite the phenomenon, eh, Greil?" Kaito questioned as he raised one eyebrow. My Evo-Gear gives Kado the power to transport us to an entirely different dimension that gives me the advantage. The best part is that the audience doesn't see that. Right now they are watching us fight normally as if nothing changed. On top of that, Gahan protects me from all of your effects! Hahaha!"

As if he was the commander of an army, he pointed at Megalodon as he indicated the target to Kado. "Now, Kado! Fire!" Kado roared, "Okay!" as the massive amount of energy that was being charged on his back was released in a single burst of energy. The attack tore through the water, intending on finishing the brawl with this fatal blow. Kaito laughed for a moment. His eyes then narrowed as he spoke to Greil. "Checkmate."

The voice sounded, "Kado is at 2000G, Megalodon is at 0G."

Greil looked around in astonishment as he saw the new world that he had been transported to. The arena had disappeared, and in its stead was an underwater dimension. Both brawlers stood on the sea floor, yet neither of them felt any water pressure. The water currents didn't make Greil feel wet at all. The water felt like it was if the wind was blowing through his clothes and skin. On top of that, he was able to breath underwater. Whatever this dimension was, it certainly wasn't anything like Earth.

"I'm impressed," Greil spoke to his opponent, "You and your bakugan must have a tremendous amount of power if you guys can transport us to another dimension AND make it look like nothing happened for the audience. However, I'm sensing one fatal error here. I take it you moved us here so your bakugan could have the advantage since he thrives in the water, yes? Aren't you forgetting that Megalodon is a SHARK? the KING of the seas? This area is just as much his domain as would be any other body of water."

The burst of energy from Kado's Gahan headed towards Megalodon with at intense forces and speeds. However, Greil had a counterattack of his own. He held up his hand and revealed his own glowing blue ring, "Evo-Gear, Enhance! Hydro Striker X!" A blue flash of light surrounded Megalodon as he transformed. When the light died down, Megalodon's true form was revealed. He now had two tails and he had grown larger and wider. He grew two arms under his original two and, the most shocking mutation of all, he had grown an extra head." "Ah," The second head spoke, "It has been a while, brother." "Agreed," Megalodon's first head responded, "However, now is not the time for chit-chat. Let's get to business." The second nodded as both of them glared directly at Kaito. They caught the beam with all four hands. They used their enhanced strength to roll up the energy into a ball and shove it into the second head's mouth. "Haha! What a meal! Ready brother?" "Definitely!" Megalodon's first head shot out a massive bolt of blue energy that was covered in the invisible plasma.

Greil laughed at the irony of this turn of events. "Well, what was that thing you said? Oh, right." His eyes suddenly narrowed as he glared at Kaito with a fierce intensity, "Checkmate."

Hydro Striker X: Negates all enemy effects.

The CDS then said: "Aquos Megalodon is at 3200G, Aquos Kado is at 0G."

Kaito had a great mood change as the tables had turned to a loss for Kaito. He had failed his master, he had failed Kado, even worse he failed himself. This was the only way he could prove to his master that he was capable of many things. But he had failed, he had lost to this, this, brawling lunatic! "But, how?"

Kado came flying back to Kaito's hands. "sorry, i was not strong enough," Kado said in sorrow. Kaito closed his eyes and took a deep breath to calm himself down, "You battle greatly Kado, it was me that has failed," "n-" Before Kado could answer back to Kaito, Kaito stopped him from speaking, "no need to question Kado, what was done is done." Kaito then helped Kado up on to his shoulder.

Kaito then stood up with the smirk now firmly planted on his face. "you may have got us this time, we will be back." Kaito soon turned and walked over to the elevator down to the exit of the exit.

[Greil Saratoshi]

Greil shook his head, "Shadow Storm, huh? That's some tremendous power they've got. What do you think Megalodon?" Megalodon popped open in his brawler's hand. "He's a pretty tough kid for fourteen. His bakugan is not half bad either. However, Something about them bothers me. I'm not sure what, but they give off a bad vibe."

Greil nodded fair enough. He gave Kaito a fleeting wave as the Aquos brawler said his begrudging goodbyes to his opponent. Greil chuckled as the boy left. "Confident as ever, I see. Come on Megalodon, we have a tournament to win." He turned towards the elevator and headed towards the lobby where the remaining members of the Final Sixteen were kept.
