Hey guys, just posting to let y'all know that I'm okay.
I had finals, which basically meant I didn't leave the library for two weeks. I passed everything with a B or better, though (except Macroeconomics, in which I got a C-, which, for the Baylor Business School, is not good enough to get into the school of business. I am retaking it next semester). Right now, I am taking Business Calculus at the community college here in town (and getting an A, I might add).
If any of y'all don't know, I live in Texas, and the last few days have been pretty bad for us. I'm in Waco for school (even right now. College is great.), which is basically in the center of Texas, if not too far off, so we've gotten some really bad weather. Last night alone basically flooded LaSalle (the main street near campus that isn't the interstate), and the day before we had TWO tornadoes touch down outside of town (about 30 minutes from where I'm staying at the moment).
My car got hit bad by the water causing something wrong with my gas intake that I have to get checked out tomorrow morning before my 8:30 AM class (I basically can't fill my tank up without any pump I use thinking my tank is full when it is not). It should be fine, though. I lost a few papers to the rain, and that's about it. Nothing major, except my car.
There was a biker shooting at the Twin Peaks near Highway 6 on the other side of town where nine bikers died, basically making five gangs want to kill each other, so guess where they decided to come do that? That's right, Waco. The police arrested about 180 bikers who were all charged with a buttload of charges (from what I've heard, each and every one of them had a $1 million bail. EACH OF THEM). No actual shooting occurred, but the Baylor Tennis Team decided to fire off some fireworks when it was supposed to go down, scaring the ever-loving shit out of everyone outside (sorry for the language, but I was outside when it happened).
I also had to travel to Dallas and Houston with my girlfriend over the course of three days, during which I spent $80 I "borrowed on my mom's credit card" (I'm pretty broke right now) on food, $7 on tolls, and got a speeding ticket for going 76 in a 65 zone (which means that I'll be on probation in about a week. I'm not going back to Harris County any time soon, hopefully, because it can last for up to a whole year). My parents aren't too happy about any of those things.
And to top it all off, I am currently homeless and broke (kind of an exaggeration, but mind you, this week has sucked and this is a part of it). My lease ended a week earlier than I was led to believe, so I've had to sleep on a couch at my pledge brother's house. I'll be heading back to Dallas on Friday where I get to help move house to the new place my parents bought, so I won't be for too long, and I'll be starting my internship at a construction company (yes, I am getting paid). My new lease starts on August 10 so I'm all lined up for next semester.
Basically, life is tough for me right now. I'll be on as much as possible, but I can't make any guarantees for the next couple days with my Calculus final being on Friday.
Stay strong, guys.
