Before I post anything regarding season 2, I want to make sure we're on the same page when it comes to what's going to be happening in the near future. What I discuss here will show up on the plot rules, so I'm making sure you're aware that they're there so that no one accuses me of not saying anything beforehand.
I've mentioned this in my last update months ago. While it does save me significant time, I do not enjoy skipping someone's turn or ending an episode prematurely because a canon character either didn't respond on time or provided nothing. I am disappointed that I had to enforce certain policies that I personally find distasteful after what a previous developer has been doing, but I have been left with no other option. In addition to skipping remaining as the primary enforcer in post regulation, there will be an alternative: me having access to your canon account.
I'm not implementing this because I don't trust you. I'm putting it in so trust never becomes an issue. You already have an idea of the behavior that led to this rule being created based on what I said in my previous rant.
It doesn't matter if you're already an existing character in the series or if you're a newcomer. When you see me respond to your application with an approval, the password to the canon account will have to be sent to me as soon as possible. If you refuse to do this, your application is denied. If you change the password, you will be receiving punishment proportionate to disrespecting an admin. The negative sanctions will be significantly worse if I discover someone else having access to the account without my knowledge.
One thing that I deserve a lot of flak for in season 1 was my inattentiveness to certain people's profiles. I want to blame my inexperience as the reason why certain characters did not develop how they were supposed to, but I'm not here to make excuses. The sad truth lies in the way certain character profiles were created that left the character itself without any direction for me to take, and the characters that I do not make myself should not have to be developed by me; in other words, I should not be responsible to do what should have already been done by its creator.
This season will be tougher (as it should be). I'm going to really push certain people because season 2's plot will demand more out of everyone involved than season 1 has done, and if everyone is not where they're supposed to be character-wise, the story will tank. That is how serious I am in making sure that the characters that need to be worked on gets the attention they need and the ones that are already doing well can continue along that path.
User interaction is also another way we can improve certain characters even more. I've seen great ideas come from some of you when it came to your own characters. Suggestions are heavily encouraged since this is ultimately a team effort, so if you have something to say, send it my way.
I'm going to reiterate this point for the final time. If you sense a period of time where you'll be unable to perform a certain duty, you need to tell me, or whoever you tell needs to tell me. Some of you thought it was funny how annoyed I was in the chat whenever something like that happens, but I promise you that there were zero smiles on my face, especially in the case of Markus and Tracy. I have been extremely lenient in the three strikes rule this season. That will no longer be the case in season 2. If you choose not to have good communication, then I will decide not to have good self-control of my rule enforcement.
Darkness, if there's anything I'm missing from this post, feel free to add onto this down below.
If not, that's all from me.
