Noland gritted his teeth when Alex spoke of the supposed "darkness" that's embedded in him right now. He knew what was being referenced, but what could that possibly mean anyway? He was the victim here, or so he thought. "Daniel said that to us once..." He let out a loud, lengthy sigh after a slight pause after Alex's departure. It made him think about Alana, and then he quickly didn't want to have her in his head in an instant. He had his grandmother to think about the most aside from the rest of them in a similar manner to Tank worrying about Katherine.
"We're out of here," Noland signaled. He mounted Drago with haste as time was continuing to wind down. He didn't make a single sound from that point forward. He sat on the Dragonoid's back in complete silence, preferring to keep what he was truly feeling to himself rather than shape them into emotional words that he had grown accustomed to doing in the not-so-distant past.
Drago didn't offer any responses either. He could only imagine what was going through his head if Tank couldn't hold it together, but he wondered how Noland was still able to keep his composure in such a tragic situation. Perhaps he was waiting for the right moment to release all of that anger. He knew it was there somewhere just as Alex seemed to notice. It wasn't healthy to keep all of that anguish in, and Drago had a feeling Noland knew this. This approach appealed better than willingly stepping up to fight with a girl among other things though.
"Alana...Hurranians...Spartans...Yita...Cancer...and now Daniel," Drago thought to himself. Out of nowhere, Noland reacted to Drago's thoughts as if he could read his mind. "We'll get through this," he promised. "Even if it means I have to go through her...or him..."
