Calvin (GM) created a post concerning a new Bakugan anime some time ago. The information contained there made it apparent that Spin Master has hinted that they are planning a relaunch of the Bakugan franchise based on what was seen from their report to their investors. I do not expect for them to address this any further until 2018 at the earliest. With that said, the reason why I'm bringing this up is because I'm concerned. This isn't directed towards the alleged reboot itself (that's a discussion for a another thread). This is about this site in general. The state of the brawling community will either live on or die off depending on what happens with this new line, and I feel obligated to talk about what's going to happen in the future with you all because of one simple reason: this is a Bakugan site, one that has seen its share of ups and downs and is now theoretically dead (Yes, we have a lot of members, but don't you dare look at the active users and tell me it's bustling with members). I'm sure you have your own reasons why we are the way we are now, but from someone that has been here since this particular url's creation, I can tell you that multiple events that have occurred back then are coming back to haunt us, mainly in the way brawling works. I'm no longer a child, so I've begun to understand the inherent flaw that I believe removes any incentive to brawl: it's not rewarding. This system was designed a long time ago, but it always had this MMO-like effect. In one way, it's deep since the way you battle is ultimately in your creative control, but at the same time, because you had all of that time to develop yourself, every single noob that comes in here will get torn into pieces. In one way, it's fair for us since we put in a lot of work to get where we are, but in another way, some people don't know how or where to start, and then they give up completely. Ultimately, that's going to happen and should happen, but it's a bit awkward when, if a noob looks at me, they'll believe I'm invincible and not even try because they think they will not have a fighting chance at competing with me. I'm sure you have your own thoughts. I'd like you to express them, but more importantly, I think we should come together to think really hard about what we're going to do when this new series drops. What realistic change(s) would you make if you were in either Calvin or my position, and what should we do to prepare for the (alleged) incoming season?
