I'll get straight to the point since I really don't want to make this update; however, a recent event requires that I say something. Before I get to that, I have a couple of things to address.
> Starting now, members WILL NOT be charged for including premium effects into their cards.
> "No affecting HSP, or Holo-Sector Points" in the "Banned Card Effect List" section in the card creation rules will be removed, meaning that it will no longer be a banned effect.
> As an experiment, I will change something regarding the forbidden items. You WILL NOT be penalized for using Forbidden Bakugan UNLESS you use their special effects. If you use their effects, you will be penalized in regards to the honor points and money you receive.
> Speaking of which, if you use a Forbidden Bakugan's special effect or a forbidden card, your rewards from the battle will be decreased in quarters. That means that after one item gets used, your rewards will be decreased by 1/4 of what they were supposed to be. Your opponent's rewards will go up in quarters as well each time something happens. Clearly, if you use four things, you will get nothing.
> There will be a rule added to the battle rules. For the thread creators, please specify if you and your opponent(s) are using 500 or 1000 life gauge amounts. I do not want any confusion to be had when damage is to be calculated.
> The Honor Point and money allocation will be adjusted to differentiate between the 500 and 1000 life gauge formats. Please look out for this in the appropriate thread where I outline all of the honor point information.
> Forbidden Bakugan will start to be offered in shops; however, it will only be a limited selection. Certain Bakugan - Fury being a prime example - will only be offered via special events and/or other unforeseen methods.
> Certain Support Weapons have rules where you can only make a certain amount of them per week or something along those lines. They will be adjusted to more reasonable time periods.
> Chaos Ability X will have its price increased.
Now I'll address the elephant in the room. Since this issue was birthed in the chatbox, I will make this public.
I've been looking at staff members checking over brawls and seeing Honor Point amounts on people's signatures that exceed the amount needed to rank up; however, the person is still on a rank they should not be on. To put it bluntly, this is annoying. This isn't directed towards the staff; this is towards the members. I'll get to that in a second.
This has come to my attention in a very unusual manner. I saw one of the admins telling another member that he/she should not be on the rank they are on due to the amount of points he/she tallied up in their signature and that they needed to stay on top of that by reporting it. The member's response included an implication that it was deliberate indifference on the staffs' part, because he/she has said something about in the past and nothing was done.
I was not made aware of any instance where someone was sent a pm about this matter nor did any staff come forward that they were informed about it. That is an issue I will deal with separately, but for now, here is how YOU, THE MEMBER, will avoid this.
Some of you put the Honor Point values in your signature. Some of you put it in your Bakupack. I couldn't care less where you decide to put it since it's personal preference. What I do care about is how you handle it. You are responsible for keeping track of how many points you have, regardless of how you record it (obviously, you need to record it on the site and not on your own personal documents). If you fail to do this, then you are treated as having 0 points or however many points you have listed anywhere on the account.
Additionally, everyone will now be required to send a pm to either Damian or Keto WITH PROOF of the point accumulation in order to be ranked up. This is being done for two reasons. One, it will teach you responsibility. That sounds demeaning, as if we're here to babysit or parent you, but it is now necessary, because it has become clear that we can no longer trust that people will keep track of them and not produce accusations that can be deemed offensive in how they are presented. Two, it will be easier for us to keep track of who is doing what to maintain order.
TL;DR: In order to rank up, members will have to send a PM to either Damian or Keto with proof of their point accumulation.
That is all.
