The way I see it your are trying to checkmate me. From what I know checkmate is where you block your opponent in ways so no matter what their king cannot escape. Corner them in a way. This card is like the same. If I counter I lose a counter but if I don't counter I lose my normals and as such my fusion. Leaving me with only special as by preventing normals you stop my fusion and gate from being used cause they need normals.
So what that said. Gate card open! Switch Element!
This allows me to change your element. I change it to Subterra. Which also stops your ability as you are no longer the correct attribute. So!
Ability Activate! Pyrus Override!
I prevent you from playing abilities and I double my future effects.
Me: 1600 (Future effects doubled.) You: 400 (Can't play abilities)
Very good for me, actually. I think you're starting to understand how to brawl at a higher level.
Special Ability activate! Illumina: Pain (White)! You know how this works. I choose the attribute change effect you just played, and until I play another card, YOU will suffer from that effect. I'll simply change your attribute to Darkus, eliminating everything you just put out.
I will also throw in my Bakugan Trap, Darkus Pythantus, at 400G.
No, it wasn't a good time to use Seiki's card, and the reasons why are all contained in one card that I used: Shadow Master. With Tracy's card putting the attribute change on you instead of me, Shadow Master is still active, which means two things:
1. You were prevented from using normal abilities.
2. Even if you weren't, Shadow Master also gave me the advantage, and you did nothing about it. I could've skipped my turn easily here, because you weren't paying attention.
And I expected your attention to detail to lapse at some point this round, because it's a natural reaction to do so in this situation. We forget the fundamentals when we are being praised or feel good about what we're doing. You can't allow that to happen to you. Even if you see me saying good things about you, you still need to do what you have to do as if I didn't say anything at all.
A similar thing can also be said about being ahead in battles. Don't get greedy with your moves. Always play like you don't have the win already, because all it takes at the high level is one misstep, and it's over.
