Listen up, ladies and gentlemen. We need to talk.
It's no secret that your eyes try to pop out of their sockets when you see the word "copyright" in it. I get it. You all want one since it's what the good brawlers have. You want to know how to get one of these effects? Sure. Here's a very simple instruction.
How about you DON'T think of them?
Excluding a select few of you, all of you are roughly inexperienced. You haven't mastered the basic fundamentals of brawling, and you're already trying to come up with copyrighted effects. It doesn't work that way. There's a process, just like with anything else. You need to trust the process instead of trying to rush through it. I'm not going to expose anyone, but there are a lot of you who have copyrighted effects that are useless in just about every category of brawling, and there are those of you who constantly try to copyright any effect you can in a card knowing full well that the effect in question is generic.
So I'm going to give you a couple of things on your to-do list if you want to become good.
1. bakugan-generation.proboards.com/thread/37538/top-5-tips-brawling-wc
^ Please, read what this man is telling you to do. You had to have seen it. It's on your announcements. This guy is probably the strongest brawler in WC history, and he's telling you how he did it. Follow it!
2. Let ANY idea come to you naturally
^ As you continue to get better, you will naturally develop your own style of effects. Guaranteed. You need to believe what I'm telling you, because if you don't, you're going to remain where you are right now.
3. When you get the idea, THINK about HOW it would WORK in battle
^ This is self-explanatory. Damian just got through telling someone this the other day. You need to think about how what you came up with would function in a battling setting. If there's no potential in it, then save yourself and us the trouble of having to look at it. The reason why I'm telling you now is so that none of us have to look like the bad guys/girls when we say what you came up with is useless.
4. Make sure it's not generic!
^ If it's a fancier way of saying your opponent's power level is decreased by 100G, please, save all of us some time and keep it to yourself.
To end this, I'm going to offer you a service. Since no one is actively telling you all what effects work or don't work, Damian has offered to fill that role for you. Just shoot him a pm, and for $50, he will review ONE of your effects. I told him to be brutally honest with his critique, so if it's terrible, you're going to know. Personally, I'd do it even if it was terrible, because you at least have someone who has been in your position telling you than someone else who has no idea what they're talking about.
That is all.
