"Oh no..." Drago became wide-eyed at the thought of Hydranoid shooting that at him from point-blank range. He immediately jumped back so he could get some distance. He DID NOT want to be exposed to that. AT ALL.
"Ability activate! Crimson Dragonia!" Noland played. Drago opened his mouth to fire back with a scorching fireball. The size of it started off around Drago's size, but there was a huge catch.
Much like Apollonir's Scarlet Dragonia that could win any power struggle, this ability was undoubtedly useful for those situations. In this case, it didn't have the absolute power Apollonir's variant has; however, what it does do is get more intense when something is going against it.
In other words, the more it is clashing with something, the stronger it will get. Drago would use this to contest with Hydranoid's attack, and no matter how much he tried, he will inevitably lose the clash.
"You haven't seen the mean side of me yet," Noland claimed. "All I'm doing is waiting on you to bring out your Excedra so I can finish you. After all, you're playing for that opportunity. It shows in the way you're fighting. Only a Maverick could come up with something so stupid. Alana and Hydranoid were strong enough on their own until you showed up. And if you're too stupid to catch on, yes, I'm talking to you, Maverick. It takes more than a body snatcher to know how each individual's strength comes into play. At this rate, the power difference doesn't mean shit with how far behind you are in the game."

Alana could see that the fireball was starting to generate corona, so it was definitely getting to the point where it could seriously injure Hydranoid. Still, Hydranoid intentionally used the right and left heads to add onto the smoke Hydranoid was giving out, because Noland was correct. Getting to Excedra is exactly what Alana's planning.
Well...that was the eventual outcome. As for the in-between...
"Yes, the Excedra is a fun time, but what about what comes before that?" Alana wondered. "Drago and Hydranoid are very close to one another in power, so I don't have to exert too much energy in the abilities I use whenever I fight you or the other Resistors. I can take it easy and let the battle energy carry me through. You have to give a little more effort to stay up to speed. Is that enough knowledge about their capabilities, Master Blaze?"
From the sounds of it, the Maverick itself chose to address Noland before going into the next phase of the plan.
Alana purposely allowed Drago's attack to progressively beat Hydranoid's before snapping her fingers. When she did, Hydranoid warped in front of Drago via Phantom Transmission. This let him dodge the fireball entirely. While that caused an Earth-rocking explosion out in the distance, Hydranoid was intending to use the momentum from the advanced movement to slice right through him using sharpened claws.

Drago had his guard up at the last second before he got sliced. The enhancement from earlier prevented him from being served up, but the blow was so severe that for the first time in a while, Drago was overpowered and sent flying. He ragdolled a couple of times on the ground before finally regaining a foothold on the ground. He slid uncomfortably and stayed in a kneeling position before recovering.
"Damn..." Drago said in shock. He really had to shake that one off. It's a good thing he didn't take that attack directly. "That was intense..."
"...Not bad..." Noland commended. "Your knowledge is good, but your understanding is very piss poor. The only reason why I won't explain that to you is to make sure I live through this."
The unspoken reason is due to the key weakness in adaptive development. Sure, it allows one to progressively get stronger, but if an enemy gets obscenely stronger to the point where the user's body can't catch up, they are at a high risk of getting obliterated. This Maverick seems to be underestimating the Resistors A LOT if it believes Alana and Hydranoid would ever fight that way against them.
Drago "jumped" right back into his starting position. He opened his right hand, and a trident appeared out of thin air and rested in his grasp. This was Apollo's Hand, a gift from Apollonir. It is what the elder Dragonoid looked like when using Dragon Proudia.
Drago pointed the staff out in front to challenge Hydranoid's power. "You asked for this..." he reminded the hydra, because now he wasn't going to hold back.

Hydranoid howled at Drago's challenging gesture. He knew things were just getting started, so the competitive nature between the two rivals was starting to heat up. Alana found this funny for some reason.
Instead of returning an angry look or looking serious, Alana was very happy. She was likely experiencing an emotional high off of getting Noland and Drago to be serious in a fight.
"I couldn't care less what your explanation is though," Alana replied. "The point is, you're an idiot for challenging me by yourself. If I defeat you - Mr. Most Powerful Mortal - the emotional high I'm going to get from that will make me more powerful than I could even imagine! So now you see why this gets me so excited!"
"We need to kill this bastard first," Hydranoid spoke up. "Well, would you look at me? I'm not being overconfident or talking shit right now. That simply means I'll be the winner."
Despite what she was saying, Alana knew she had to tread carefully now. A serious Noland is not for the faint of heart. "Ability activate! Wizard Proxy!" Dark smoke developed in between Hydranoid and Drago. It took on the form of a gaseous cloud at first.
For a limited time - since Hydranoid is not an Excedra just yet - the smoke will be able to alter its shape and density whenever it pleases. Its power was also proportionate to the amount of battle energy within the area, so it will continue to get stronger as the battle rages on.
It formed into several staves and rained down upon the Dragonoid. Hydranoid also dashed forward to engage Drago in close combat at the same time with the knowledge that he could not be pierced by his own attacks.

"..." Noland wasn't trying to deny Alana's assertion since there was some truth to it. "Ability activate! Battalix Enforcement!"
Without giving Alana anymore satisfaction of him taking this seriously, Noland went with this, one of the more powerful abilities Drago has in base form. This one acts as the opposite to Havoc Degredation in which he can enhance someone's senses.
Drago decided to target himself for now. A dark-red aura appeared on his skin briefly before going away. What he did was enhance his sense of touch, allowing him to feel things to an acute detail. The application of this will take place shortly.
Drago took a deep breath before initiating his devastating assault. "Go to work," Noland signaled. With that, Drago easily stopped Hydranoid's advance with a SINGLE finger to his chest. Yes, with the way his sense of touch was enhanced, Drago only needed one finger to apply enough force to stagger the behemoth.
He then took Apollo's Hand and gave it some of his power. The weapon then twirled as the staves were coming forward to wrap them around the tip of the spear. He then jabbed it forward to completely dissipate the attack and slam Hydranoid with an unbelievable amount of force.
"What's wrong?" Drago asked the cocky Hydranoid. As if Hydranoid asked for more, Drago slammed the trident on the ground to send a rippling pillar of his energy along the ground. It erupted when it got underneath Hydranoid to send him into the sky.
Drago jumped after him. He continuously kicked the air he was feeling so he could propel himself forward at a faster rate compared to general flight. He got above Hydranoid with his hands clasped together to deliver a sledgehammer to Hydranoid's abdomen. The hydra rocketed to the land below. The impact was enough to split the island in half.
"You want to defeat me? You're going to have go through a lot of hell to achieve that," Noland warned Alana. "I'm not messing around anymore, so keep up, or get left behind."

"What...? How...? When could you do that...?" Alana was left questioning this for the simple fact that Noland NEVER showed this ability to any of the Resistors before.
Hydranoid's body slowly floated up from underneath the water. All of his faces were wincing, which speaks volumes for how devastating Drago's attacks are. Every place on his body he was struck was swollen.
"Talk about 0 to 100," Hydranoid grunted. Despite the intense pain he was feeling, he had no problems getting himself back into a fighting position back on land, but he had to convince himself to ignore the pain. "I've never been hit like that before... Are you on the juice?"
Despite hearing that, Alana continued on with her assault, but from a different approach. Clearly, what Noland was alluding to was becoming a reality. "Ability activate! Omega Destroyer!"
Utilizing the battle energy in the area, Hydranoid spawned a purple wildfire that continuously burned at the rate of which the energy source was getting increased by. The presence of this phenomenon inhibits any and all elemental energy sources, so attributed attacks were considerably less effective. Additionally, Bakugan within its gaze suffer extraordinary pain that only the most ruthless Pyrus users could replicate.
Hydranoid bathed himself in this flame to give him some protection from Drago's offenses. That should also give him some comfort against his current ability since the enhanced sense of touch should be to his own detriment.

Drago rolled his eyes at the obvious attempt to dissuade him from attacking any further. Little did Hydranoid know, it only delayed the inevitable.
"So you weren't ready after all that talk, huh?" Noland wondered. "Ability activate! Dragonic Pressure!"
Drago's colossal energy took great form here. A dense, crimson-colored aura spread out across all directions. Its release began to distort the land and sky. The flames that once bounded him were forcefully nullified, and Hydranoid was forced to endure the full brunt of it all. In fact, it was so potent, that Hydranoid was literally being pushed backwards from its release.
"What makes this even sadder is that Hydranoid is actually more powerful than Drago if we were only talking about base forms," Noland revealed to the Maverick. "All of you entities that take people over are all the same. You don't know what you're doing. The only thing you know how to do is control other people, but you lack the means to use their abilities to the fullest. It's like I said before. I couldn't care less how much stronger you made Alana and Hydranoid. Right now, you're not worth my time. Yield and go bother someone else."

This was a very bad situation. With Noland's admission of Hydranoid being stronger in base form, that should've resulted in Drago getting steamrolled from the jump, but it didn't happen. Hydranoid got one solid hit in, but the rest has been Hydranoid getting shit on.
Luckily, the seething anger from this development spurred Hydranoid into defiantly evolving into his Excedra form. His body was imperceptible by the smoke that covered him whole.
"Perfect timing. Let me tell you something even sadder than that," Alana chimed. "If you're going on the topic of someone not knowing what they're doing, then it's a shame you haven't caught on to why YOU don't know what you're doing. For starters, if anyone fights at a lesser capacity than you're capable of, you automatically write them off. You completely disregard even the basic etiquette's of battling when facing an enemy. It's a shame you aren't dead yet. Lydia told you how dangerous that is; yet, you don't listen. You don't listen to ANYONE, not even ME, ALANA."
Once the Excedra was formed, the smoke gradually disappeared, and Drago's overwhelming power became underwhelming to the massive creature.
"You know what? I feel bad, so before I start wasting you, I'm gonna admit something. I may or may not have had my growth rate accelerated by this Maverick, so I might have been dogging it earlier. I'm sorry," Hydranoid admitted, which should explain the difference in fighting style as opposed to what Noland thinks he knows. "So, per the status quo of getting here as fast as possible, I only used abilities that would create the most battle energy instead of trying to outperform you or whatever. I mean, who gives a damn about doing that when I get what I want anyway? Might as well take the easy way through."
"Easy it was," Alana agreed. "Now the REAL fight begins."

"Funny. Alana and I actually argued over this one time," Noland remembered. He truly didn't realize that an Excedra appeared until Hydranoid said something about what he was doing to get there. "You make a lot of great points, but here's where you fall short. I'm not an idiot. I'm perfectly aware of what I'm doing, how I'm acting, and how high your threat level is right now," Noland asserted. "Each time I turn around, there's always an enemy trying to come for us. When I defeated Dasia and Diablo 3, I was absolutely sure I was done fighting, but... What can I say? It's almost as apart of life as a Maverick thinking it can turn a Hydranoid into an Excedra and start making claims about why things happened." "So, enemy, I think that giving you any more attention than you're already getting from me would be a waste of my attention span. You already have Alana bound by your rules, so get on with your plan and stop messing around. If you're going to fight, then let's go. Neither of us came to hear the other lecture the other person. Show me what you got and be done with it." Drago carefully stepped back as he was staring at this beast. He gulped, because even he knew that the multiplier in Hydranoid's power from this transformation was above and beyond ridiculous. If he wasn't careful, he'd be obliterated. "Um...Noland?" Drago called out. "I know," he heard. "It's our move. On you." ( Boss Theme 2)

"...You're a lot more level-headed than you used to be..." Alana freely admitted with a smile on her face. "Consider me impressed. But, now you said too much."
Alana gathered a red-colored energy in her hands and started to infuse that energy into Excedra's body. This caused Excedra to experience minor convulsions, but he survived it nicely and now had a dark red coloration on his skin. This didn't make him a Pyrus Bakugan, but it denote him as having been converted into a Maverick.
"Thank you... It's because of you I was able to get this far," Alana claimed. "Ability activate! Chaos of the Excedra!" This is considered a godly ability within the species.
The main face of the beast opened its mouth and pointed downward. Around 16 disgusting, snake-like entities left the mouth and burrowed into the ground. These creatures are Hydranoid, but the only parts of their bodies that are out are their heads. This will change overtime. Each individual creature will grow as time passes. Eventually, the field could be swimming with Hydranoid.
That wasn't the main focus though.
The creatures possessed numerous blades on their bodies that could cut through almost anything. Some would use this to slice through Drago while the others prefer to keep their distance and bombard him with deadly, attribute-slaying beams of darkness. Either way, both proceeded to happen all at once.

"Oh shit..." Noland knew he was in for it now. Whatever was just done to Excedra made this situation more dangerous than it was. "Are they...stronger than us now...? I can really feel that power increase...and it's really dense..."
"I'm getting scared that you're saying that so calmly..." Drago sighed.
"Eh. You know. Watch out," Noland subtly warned Drago before he was raided by a bunch of Hydranoid heads. Drago twisted Apollo's Hand around his body to repel the invaders. He jumped high up to dodge the incoming beams, which easily razed through the ground and started changing the geography.
"Ability activate! Maximum Igniter!" Drago developed a scorching firebreath in his mouth that he used to slay the creatures. He started downwards to get the creatures that attacked him and then tilt his head upwards to get the rest. The impact of the attack on the ground created a firestorm that blew everything away, so it wasn't necessary for Drago to do much to hit everything. He eventually took aim at Excedra who would be caught right in the center of it.

The destruction of the slimy creatures brought in a virulent toxin that appeared in the form of a cloud. Given that it is coming from an Excedra, the toxin is quite potent. Whether or not Drago would be affected by it is iffy at best, but it is known to cripple the strongest of warriors.
More importantly, the attack that Drago was aiming needed to be countered. "Ability activate! Demon Wizard!"
One of the ultimate abilities for the Excedra line, Demon Wizard allowed Excedra to open his mouth to reveal an eye. It focused on everything in the surrounding area. The energies from the attack and the environment were sucked in and siphoned into his body.
The plants all cried for mercy as they withered away. The grass gave up like Lebron did on Cleveland. Drago's attack was neutralized very easily, but worst of all, the toxin was still looming in the air.
"Hey, Drago! The water's fine! Come join us!" Excedra strongly suggested. He focused his eye on Drago in order to take away his power. Soon, his colossal strength won't be as colossal.

"I...don't...want...to...!" Drago grunted as he tried to resist the effects of Demon Wizard as much as possible. If too much power is taken from him, he'll be fossilized, and then they could score a one-shot kill or turn him Maverick.
His body had a rainbow outline that gave a visual cue for his Switch Code abilities offering some protection from this technique, but it won't last for long. Noland had to do something NOW.
"Ability activate! Hyper Motion!" Noland activated. This familiar move will let Drago "jump" to a point around Excedra's location, almost as if he was warping there. He appeared to the left side of Excedra to get out of his gaze.
"I'm sorry!" Drago apologized for his next act. Using the momentum from the warp, Drago threw a punch in the direction of the eye to slam it with overwhelming force. The result of that should be a disgusting sight for sure.

Excedra unleashed a deathly-sounding scream of pain as his eye was greatly damaged by Drago's power. His initial reaction to this was spinning to his right, which caused him to unintentionally whack Drago with his tails, the most powerful parts of his body.
"Hey! That's cheating! That's like hitting a dude square in the balls! How could you!?" Alana complained, throwing her arms up in a comedic manner.
Some of Excedra's upper heads were in tears over the blow. The others were extremely livid. The main eye was bright red. The menacing roar he made towards Noland and Drago conveyed the feelings of pain and anguish that was about to rain down upon them.
"Ability activate! Brutal Avenger!" Excedra turned back around to look at Drago again. Energy particles began swirling to his mouths that will eventually be used for a murderous beam. Just like one of his abilities from when he was an Alpha Hydranoid, this ability becomes empowered by how much damage the user and its brawler has accumulated throughout the battle regardless of whether or not it was healed.
The main problem with this that Noland would have to contend with is that the pain this ability benefits from isn't just related to battle damage. It can be ANY kind of damage whether it's mental or emotion, just to name a few. Due to the Maverick's influence on Alana and Excedra, this ability is likely to be more powerful than the activation of Final Wizard.
Excedra then let it loose. All eight heads and the central mouth emitted a flash of light, and then a cylindrical particle beam blasted Drago from the sky.

Drago was noticeably rattled from being hit like that, but he wasn't out of it yet. If he takes this attack uncontested, he will be shortly...
"Ability activate! Battalix Prime!" Noland quickly activated. "Please hold..." It sounded like he was a little concerned with Drago being able to hold this together, but he had to try. This was the most powerful attack that has been used against him since the battle with the Hurranians, so he wasn't sure how this was going to go.
First, Drago knelt down to make sure he could hold himself up from the strength of Excedra's ability. He stayed in this position throughout the entire ability and made sure he was absolutely still. He gleamed in a crimson coat that served its purpose well against his potential killer.
"You said I don't follow the basic etiquette's of battling an enemy, so I changed that," Noland replied in defense of targeting Excedra's eye. "Having any second thoughts?"
Battalix Prime froze Drago's health, so he wouldn't take any damage from Excedra's attack as long as he stayed still and could resist the blow. He was able to keep himself still, but he was forced to temporarily switch to the Hex Code to make sure. That's when the crimson coating turned dark in color.
In exchange for this, Drago's health dropped by 4% for every 2 seconds he stayed like this; however, the payoff was very extreme. It boosts his stats by a percentage equivalent to how much damage he would've received from it if it went uncontested. Since Final Wizard is usually a one-shot ability, and Brutal Avenger is a step up from it thanks to the Mavericks, then the percentage in stat increases from this ability would be staggering even for Noland's standards. It is likely the boost was over 100% considering it would've killed him.
"Time to finish this!" Drago roared in an evil-sounding tone. He blasted the attack away from the mere pressure of his Hex Code power. He started to walk Excedra down.
"Yield," Noland suggested.
