Welcome, one and all, to the Premier Brawling League, or PBL for short. This is the new addition to WC for organized play. I am your commissioner, Carson Michaels, and this brainchild of mine is for your enjoyment. After the flop of the first one, I decided to revamp the PBL into a newer, better version of what it was.
RULES:
The rules are simple: battle in Premier Brawling League events in your classification (designated by skill level) and earn points towards the PBL Rankings (which will be on this page). The PBL Rankings are not a part of the official World Rankings, but will play into them in a way you might not think: the top PBL brawler gets an automatic ticket into the semifinal round of the next World Tournament. Yes, you heard me right. An automatic pass into the semifinals. The payoff here is intense and amazing!
All future PBL events will be listed in the PBL Events thread, but sign ups for the events will be elsewhere, so be sure to read where the sign ups are! Failure to comply with the sign up rules for events will result in a barring from the event, which is not fun for anyone.
The rankings will be decided on a simple points system. Everyone starts out with 10 points, so there are no rankings. For each event you enter, you automatically receive 1 more additional point. Point allocation during events will be given as follows:
1st place: 3 points
2nd place: 2 points
3rd place: 1 point
But Carson, what if we miss an event and want more points? Well, I'm glad you asked, random bystander! There will be a PBL Challenge board posted alongside this thread where you can create matches in which you can bet points. The only restriction regarding this is that the person you challenge must be in the same classification as you or in a classification above you. You MAY NOT challenge brawlers in a classification lower than yours. This is to prevent any poaching of points from lower classified brawlers. Violations of this rule will result in an immediate warning level and subsequent ban from the PBL for the rest of the season. Additional violations will result in a permanent ban from the PBL and a possible account suspension. If you wish to have a point challenge, an entry must be made in the Challenge Board, and the challenger must post that they accept the challenge. Both brawlers must agree on the points on the line. If you wish to discuss, please do it through PM as to not flood the board. Both brawlers must bet the same amount of points. After everything is squared away, the battle may begin.
JOINING THE PBL
Entry is even simpler than the rules! (Can you even believe that?)
Just fill out this form:
And you will be placed into one of three different classifications. When placed into a classification, please be sure to put your classification into your signature for people to see (also for any other PBL members to know what classification you are for any possible point challenges). Please be sure to include the CORRECT number of wins you have. Lying about the number you have to get into a higher classification will have bad consequences, so be sure to count carefully (if you are one of the veteran brawlers on the site, or just have brawled a lot, a rough estimate is alright, but know that I do reserve the right to investigate if your claims are true as I see fit.)
CLASSIFICATIONS
Silver Class: The lower of the two classes. Any brawlers under 19 wins are placed in this class. Special rules are uncommon in silver competition.
Gold Class: This is the top class of the PBL, reserved for the brawlers with more than 19 wins. This top tier class' competitions will all most likely involve special rules.
A brawler's classification will remain until after the season is over. Asking to be promoted into a class will hurt your chances of being moved up in the next season.
There will be separate Rankings for each class until the end of the season where a tournament will be held for all members to compete in side-by-side without any Special Rules. The final rankings will, in the best case, have a mixture of the different classes, but only time will tell this. The brawler with the most points at the end of the season will have a free pass to the semifinal round of the next World Tournament. (This means, regardless if you win the final tournament or not, the brawler with the most points at the end of the season will get the prize.)
To be eligible for the final tournament, a brawler must have at least 15 points.
TEAMS
If you are a part of a team, and wish to display your team name next to yours on the Rankings boards, please let me know. Any team affiliated with the PBL will also have the option of having their logo displayed in the PBL showcase below.
With all that out of the way, sign ups are now OPEN!
