Each card a Bakugan uses - whether it's a gate card or ability card - will belong to a certain class. Taking inspiration from how gate cards and ability cards in real life have differentiated the power of each card through their coloration, these card classes aim to distinguish the card's power to better regulate what is being used in battles.
These categories include:
Purple represents the most evil and tainted cards available - forbidden ability cards. The power of these cards are unmatched, but they come at a price. The effect they have on the game is so important that normal rules are unfit to describe their usage, requiring a different set of rules to control them altogether.
Red is the most powerful type, outside of the forbidden ability cards of course. The effect(s) included in this card are powerful in nature and have the power to drastically change how the game is played within normal constraints. Brawlers may easily spot this ability card when they witness an effect's uniqueness among other Bakugan they encounter.
Green is in the middle-ground between blue and red. While some general effects can be seen on this card, they are upped in power and feature increases and strategies that are more powerful than the common G-Power change or strategic influence. Some champions in the circuit prefer to have preventions or powerful increases/decreases such as increasing power levels based on a certain factor in the brawl.
Blue cards are very basic compared to the higher-tiered cards. General effects are mostly relegated to this class of card. They're all-around effectiveness makes them a key card to have at all times.
White is the most elementary ability card, seen on every card available in the shop.
