As soon as Tank's life gauge was depleted, the audience was utterly shocked as Drago released a giant victory roar."Tank...just lost...?" a male from the audience asked out loud. "Tank used his most powerful set of abilities...yet it was still not enough to win?" a female said. "I knew the Master Blaze was strong...but I didn't think he'd be able to match Tank's power this soon. He just came out of retirement and was able to beat a champion. That's incredible," another male said in response. "With power like that, there's no way we're not earning another championship title," one of the coaches noticed.
The referee called the match and held his arm outward in Noland's direction, declaring him the winner of not only the battle, but the tournament itself. Tank's remark sounded as if he had given up on this fight for now and chose to stand down. Noland wasn't sure if he was referring to their national title and/or against the Terrorists by that comment, but he responded to Tank's remark after he had expressed a sigh of relief at the fight finally being over. "You do the same for me, Tank," Noland responded. Although he was hesitant to give his opponent his props, he couldn't avoid the fact that Tank gave him a run for his money. "Our conflict aside, you're the strongest brawler I've faced in a long time," Noland commended. "Just save all of your anger until we get our hands on Daniel. We'll get your revenge. I promise."
The announcer announced his name and named him the new champion of the school. The audience released all of their energy into their celebration. Their cheering was loud enough for the noise to escape the stadium and be heard by the neighboring buildings in the distance. It eventually shifted into a chant that referred to Noland by his widely known moniker, "The Master Blaze". Noland didn't know what to think about all of this cheering since this was a huge boundary crossing from the casual cheering he was used to in the past. They then began cheering for Tank despite the result and cheered him on by recognizing his prodigious talent as a brawler and for him to keep fighting on in memory of his late friend.
During the cheering, Tracy and her girls decided to embrace him and celebrate his victory along with him. Drago looked back and noticed him being surrounded. "Seems like you have a following now, don't you?" Drago mocked. Noland smiled at Drago and responded, "It's all thanks to you." Noland kindly let the ladies escort him to his seat to prepare for the awards ceremony. "Thanks for all your support, Tracy. I really appreciate it," Noland said. He had a silhouette of himself appear right beside him that had an annoyed look on his face that began to say what Noland actually wanted to say out loud, but kept it to himself. "We did it? What do you mean WE?" Noland asked, placing emphasis on the word we. "We did not win the battle; I won the battle. But where were you? Did you think I wouldn't notice that you all left in the middle of the battle? When I looked back at Drago when he was sent to the walls, you were nowhere to be found, and you want to come back and celebrate like you've been there the whole time? Tank's thought of you being a horrible cheerleader was actually true!" Drago returned back to his ball form and landed on Noland's shoulder as he was walking back to his seat. As he was doing that, the Bakugan noticed that one of the girls carelessly left a crumb on her skirt. "Did you all have fun?" Drago asked while being fully aware of what they did.
The awards ceremony commenced shortly after the final match. A stage was brought onto the field with the administrator of the school presiding over it. He started off by congratulating all of the participants in the tournament for their outstanding performance and made a speech of how they were all winners; however, everyone there knew this was a kind way of saying that some people were just not good enough. He proceeded to give out the awards. He started off by awarding every participant with a medal. Once that was completed, he called the top three contestants to the stage. Tracy, Tank, and Noland went to the stage and lined up according to his instructions. They all received plaques with the Colts symbol on it, which showed that the three of them are this year's team with two new members and one returning member.
In addition to that, both Noland and Tracy received their own Varsity Jackets from the coach himself; however, Noland's jacket stood out as it had a "C" on it. The coach took the mic and announced that as of today, Noland was now the team captain in addition to being the new champion. In the midst of the clapping, Noland had to speak to himself, "Captain? No one said anything about that when they advertised it. The only thing they relayed to us was that the top three were on the team." This directly meant Tank was stripped of his leadership position, which he didn't seem to take so well. The coach could tell that Noland was surprised and revealed that the winner of the tournament is generally the captain under the best circumstances, but the decision to choose Noland was mostly due to the way Tank was battling as they did not think it was okay for Gladion to have used those attacks in such a graphic manner intentionally due to it being a criminal act. It was acknowledged that Bakugan contained the power to do this and that situations like that is assumed risk, but Tank displayed the intent to kill, which is against school policy and the law. They believed a punishment such as demotion would serve as a warning sign for him to cease this behavior before they have to go to the authorities. This threw out the possibility of giving Tank the position back since Noland felt uncomfortable assuming that role without the proper experience.
The ceremony came to a close by the announcement of their first meet taking place in approximately three weeks. They were each handed a schedule to allow them to conduct themselves accordingly. Tracy was excited for the chance to finally make it to this point after striving for it and couldn't have been happier she met Noland for her much needed improvement. Not wanting Tank to feel down, Kathrine Wilconson, his girlfriend, embraced him and gave him some encouragement, which brought a smile to his face. "I suppose we can all have a happy ending for today," Noland remarked while smiling.
