Learn to play Bakugan Brawl in this Bakugan Reboot RPG! Keep in mind that some of the rules differ from Bakugan TCG rules.
Before playing, please make sure you follow and understand all the rules here.
Each player begins with 40 Life Points, and the goal of winning the game is to reduce the opponent's Life Points to 0.
Each player may use 3 Bakugan, as many BakuCores, and as many cards (maximum three copies of the same card) they have through out the whole game. You and your opponent must disclose the 3 Bakugan you are planning to use.
You may use any faction-specific card for any of your Bakugan; however, the card's faction must be represented by one of the 3 chosen Bakugan. This means that if the card's faction does not match the faction of any of your 3 Bakugan, you can't use it.
The phases are as follows:
Standby Phase > Roll Phase > Brawl Phase > Damage Phase > End Phase
Note: The player who created the brawl goes first; for later rounds, players will take turns starting each round. For example, if player 1 rolls their Bakugan first in round 1, then player 2 will roll their Bakugan first in round 2, and so on.
Standby Phase: During the Standby Phase, each player can charge/increase 1 Energy per round (The max amount of Energy you can increase is by 1 per round). Although it is not required to charge Energy every turn, it is highly recommended to do so as Energies are required to be used to play Ability Cards. Energy works in a similar way to mana.
(e.g. You have 4 Energies. Fire Ball action card needs 1 Energy to play with; you use 1 Energy to play with it. You now have 3 Energy left.)
Roll Phase: Right after the Standby Phase, each player summons their Bakugan by throwing them to the field ("Bakugan Brawl! Bakugan Stand!"). Starting from the Roll Phase, each player is allowed to play cards.
Brawl Phase: Once each player's Bakugan is summoned and opened, the battle begins! Now this is right time to play cards and BakuCores to give your Bakugan a boost of the B-Power. Each player is allowed to use 1 BakuCore they have per round.
The Bakugan with the highest B-Power wins. However, if the B-Powers happen to be a tie, then the Bakugan with the highest Damage Rating wins instead (unless one of their Bakugan's B-Power is modified). If it still happens to be a tie, then all Bakugan return into ball form, and each player restarts their Roll Phase.
Victory Phase: The Bakugan that wins the round becomes "Victor". The Victor Bakugan keeps its Bakugan form opened and their BakuCore(s) effects. Victor Bakugan cannot be used for next turns until their Bakugan closes into ball form. The other player that did not win the round closes their Bakugan and loses the BakuCore(s) effects, returning the BakuCore(s) to the field (which means the returned BakuCore(s) can be used again). The closed Bakugan may be used again for the next round.
Damage Phase: Victor Bakugan deals damage to the opponent's Life Points using their Damage Rating. (e.g. Pyrus Dragonoid is the Victor and has a Damage Rating of 5. The opponent's Life Points loses 5 Life Points.)
During the Damage Phase, no players are allowed to play cards, except that the player losing Life Points can play Flip Cards, giving them a chance to counter or to stop the attack. This is your chance to avoid taking damage from losing a battle!
Team Attack: If a player wins the round and all three of their Bakugan are open, they deliver a devastating Team Attack! The Victor Bakugan combines the Damage Rating of each Bakugan on the team and all BakuCore effects they picked up to deal massive damage to the opponent's Life Points. After a Team Attack, all three Bakugan return to ball form and all their BakuCores to the field.
End Phase: The round ends, and all used Energies are recharged and can be used again for the next round.
Tip: Before recharging your used Energies, you are allowed to use your unused Energies to play cards, such as Hero or Evo Cards! Both Hero and Evo Cards stay on the field and remain active.
