Episode 27: Crossing the Line

[Noland Hardy]

At the battle's conclusion, there was no question about the Resistors suffering their worst defeat in the entire record of their fight against the Terrorists. This event came to be known as the "Pack Attack" where a man personally led three demonic Bakugan to multiply and begin to spread throughout the United States beginning in the nation's capital, Washington D.C. The Resistors fought bravely against this menacing threat, but they were no match for Nero's forces. Six members were present at the start of the fight, and now only three are out in the wild. Allen, Tank, and Markus were seemingly incapacitated after being bullied by Hydranoid following his evolution, and Noland, Tracy, and Seiki were sent "packing" in Nero's words, and he made it a point to mention that the pun was intended. There was no way to alert the surrounding states of Nero's invasion in a timely manner as it was later revealed that Asmodeus had already shot down multiple helicopters in the air when news teams attempted to cover the story from the air. They weren't foolish enough to send any ground teams out there since the streets were being flooded by the rough fur of the Pack. There was no hope for outside support. All that was left in the streets after they ran through were piles upon piles of dead Bakugan scattered throughout. The humans were too terrified to even dare walk outside and gaze upon the eyes of these killers. They stayed inside hoping that their Bakugan wouldn't become victims of this sea of blood, but the Pack sniffed them out, and many submitted their Bakugan out of fear while others fought; unfortunately, those who fought were only met with a quick death, and that included the brawler. It would only be a matter of time before the Pack goes through every nook and cranny of D.C. and Maryland to not leave a single Bakugan untouched.

Noland's group fled the area after being battered by Nero and Karen's combined attacks. They were pushed all the way to the north where they were forced to seek refuge in Pennsylvania. The state had not been touched by the Pack yet due to the mountainous terrain and the amount of snow they had gotten the past week. Drago had theorized that Nero did not want to endanger the Pack's well-being by natural events slowing them down, so he would wait until the snow melts a little before he sends them on up. Tracy had suggested for them to warn them about the incoming invasion so they could help defend, which was quickly rebuffed by Noland as he knew they would continue being beaten over and over again until they couldn't run anywhere else. He did agree on giving a warning, but he refused to be on the front lines again. With her condition getting worse, Seiki asked him if he had any better ideas since it was just proven that they were going to lose to just three of the Bakugan present. In order to quickly change the subject as he was being stressed out over the ordeal, Noland suggested to stop at the hospital to get her some medical attention for her injuries and did not say a word about the situation. Seiki noticed this and attempted to get an answer from him by asking what was going to happen after that before being stopped by Drago himself. He agreed with Noland about not exposing themselves among the populace since it would be suicide to do so and urged everyone to shut up and focus on who needs what before discussing their battle plan. Ahio silently told Seiki that both Noland and Drago were visibly stressed about it and thought that they need time to figure out what to do even though they had little of it left.

Meanwhile, Allen, Tank, and Markus regained consciousness after being knocked out by their defeat and discovered themselves restricted inside tubes in a laboratory with Nero and Karen presiding. Nero greeted them and informed them that their Bakugan were next door, assuring them that he didn't kill them yet. Tank angrily cursed him and demanded to know what he was doing. Thinking that Tank's anger was funny, Nero told him he was 'experimenting' on them and their Bakugan. Allen complained about having a headache worse than usual shortly after Nero's comment, which Markus and Tank seemed to acknowledge due to their wincing, and began asking questions about what he was doing besides killing innocent people and Bakugan. In response to this, Nero smiled and told them that he would soon be doing what he's accusing them of. Markus berated him for making this comment and even went as far as to insult his intelligence by even having the nerve to tell any of them that. When Nero asked him for what other reason would they still be alive right now if they weren't going to do that, Allen looked at both of his comrades and told them that Nero might be hinting at something really bad, and all of them being in tubes was making the feeling worse. When he reminded them of what they were told before Hydranoid made the final attack, the three of them shut their mouths and started to get concerned about what Nero was doing. Karen pulled Nero to the side and asked him what was going on with them. Nero reminded her of the fact that they have no way to determine where Noland is at the moment and they lost three powerful brawlers in the process, and having them sneaking around could be very problematic for him. To solve this problem, Nero sought to weed them out by exploiting the weakness he saw in the young man when Kendrick was used as his guinea pig. After telling her his plan, he swiftly dismissed her from the room in order to prevent any more unnecessary arguments with the Resistors. Knowing that she was already busy doing her hair, she complied with it and left.

When she returned to her quarters, she went into the bathroom and continued working on her hair with Elico floating in the bathtub. After some time passed without a word being said, Karen broke the silence by asking Elico some difficult questions. She asked him what made him want to help her and Nero do what they were doing. He revealed that he was Nero's former guardian in the past when he was allied with Vince. This surprised Karen greatly as she was not aware that Vince and Nero were ever on that level with each other. He then revealed they had a falling out after a certain incident that involved his fiancee, Kristen, and hasn't been the same person since. Bakugan were heavily involved in the situation, and after going through many things with them along his career path, he decided he was finished with them and wanting nothing to do with them. He stressed those specific situations that made him do what he is doing now is something that really shouldn't be talked about, so he kept it to himself; however, he revealed that his personality also took a shift after his situations since he came too close to being killed by what was supposed to be his own race, so he lost care for the others since they lost it for him. He apologized for not being able to go in-depth about those issues and asked for why she was doing it. She put her curling iron down, closed the door, looked at him closely, and made him promise not to tell anyone else about it as he would be the second one to know about it after Nero. Elico promised, but was skeptical of how serious her reason for doing this was. The scene shifted to outside of the bathroom, and all that was heard was Elico continuously mumbling to himself about the information presented to him, not knowing what else to say to her afterwards.

Nero walked next door to the Bakugan's captivity to speak with them, but decided against it since he didn't get one foot in the door without being threatened by Gorem, Gladion, and Gargulion. He simply pressed a certain button on his BrawlX before walking out, shutting them up completely as something had happened to them. He returned to the Resistor's captivity where they demanded to know what he was doing. He gave another irritating answer by telling them he was saving the world, which added to their anger. Nero elaborated on his answer and addressed some of the Resistor's problems with the Bakugan that they were blind to, and asked them if that was something everyone else deserved to go through because of them. He specifically mentioned Alana among the Resistors he named and the effect it had on her parents, Noland, and Allen himself, which made Allen snap and threaten him with violence, which was something Tank and Markus did not know he was capable of doing. Knowing that he intentionally hit a nerve, Nero used his anger as an example of the damage Bakugan are capable of doing. He sat in his chair and casually asked both Markus and Tank if he should talk about them next. Markus noticed his playful attitude and wondered if he thought all of this was funny, which made Nero immediately tell him that none of this was a joke if he didn't notice by what was going on right now. Tank urged him to just get to the point since he was getting sick of Nero playing with them, but told him that none of what he was saying would make them work for him like he said they were going to do. Nero agreed with him while rising from his chair, pulling up his BrawlX, and pushing the same button he pressed for their Bakugan. Once he did this, he told them that he was going to force them to do his bidding anyway.

Once they got to the emergency room, Seiki was on her way to being healed when Noland split from the group temporarily to warn everyone there of the incoming attack. This caused the governor to act in fear due to what has been done already and got the National Guard involved. Under their leadership, the state had plenty of guards stationed on the state's borders in preparation for the attack. Meanwhile, Noland returned to the hospital to see Seiki recovering from her injuries in a timely manner. She was released about an hour after they got there, and they sat in the lobby contemplating what they were going to do next. Tracy began complaining about being hungry and started going to the McDonald's she spotted a mile back while coming over. Noland then apologized to Seiki for what happened while they were airborne. She understood what was going through everyone's minds and forgave him. Since she knew Noland was not prepared to answer any questions about the current matter, she decided to ask him something out of her own curiosity. Based on the comment Drago made earlier in the battle, she wanted to know what Noland actually said about her at Union Station. Ahio was aware of the type of comment Noland must have made and immediately teased her about liking him, which caused Seiki to pluck a feather off of him to shut him up. Noland hesitated a lot when trying to respond to it, but before he could, Tracy ran back in the building and told Noland and Seiki to come outside. They got up and followed her to an isolated location near the mountains where they encountered the Terrorists. Noland looked at Tracy like she was crazy and asked her what was the purpose of this. She told him that Akane had proposed an idea that would be best for all of them. Akane then told Noland that Daniel had something to say to him.

Daniel found it very difficult to say what should be said, but was continuously given the look by Akane, so it finally caused him to tell Noland that all of them should team up. Drago burst out in laughter after hearing him say that and told him that he couldn't possibly be serious. Noland was not amused by what was said to him and asked Daniel why he would ever think they could be trusted after what they've been doing. Daniel responded by acknowledging that both sides have their quarrels with each other, but they both have the same enemy that should be taking precedence over any problems they have with each other. Noland immediately turned down his offer and made it clear that he wasn't going to ally himself with anyone who kills children in the same manner Nero is doing to Bakugan. Daniel then decided to tell him that he doesn't have a choice considering he didn't have the luxury of the best selection of teammates from the fallout. Noland's fuse was easily lit when he heard him insult Tracy and Seiki's skill and told him that Daniel is a liability as he had always led his teammates to death, and even degraded Akane's skill by asking him what battle has she been able to win. Before the confrontation could escalate into a fight, Makoto broke them up and urged the both of them that neither side stood a chance against Nero and that the only way for either of them to have any hope of surviving is if they join forces. The comment did not affect Tracy as much since she knew she was stronger than she ever was before, but Seiki was noticeably feeling really bad about what Daniel said considering she was never really a brawler in the first place. Noland stepped back and huddled with both Seiki and Tracy to see what they were thinking. Tracy didn't like the idea of doing it, but was willing to comply with it as they had nothing better to do. Seiki did not care about it and simply said whatever despite Daniel being responsible for her troubles and even insulting her about it. Noland stepped forward and accepted their proposal, but warned them to stay right where he can see them. 

The snow began to rapidly melt over the course of the day. It became manageable enough for Nero to begin sending the Pack to the north, and that's exactly what he did. The new alliance hid themselves in the mountains and used Ahio and Kuzuha's abilities to do recon for them. The Pack began approaching the border with three commanders, which caused Ahio to become very concerned. They went back to the humans to tell them that the Pack was at the border, but had some very bad news for them. Kuzuha informed them that the three commanders that were leading them were not Bakugan, but humans. When Noland asked her for who it was, she was a bit hesitant to tell him since it would spark a reaction that she didn't believe they could afford to have, but she told him anyway. She said that Allen, Tank, and Markus were leading the charge. The Resistors were flabbergasted at her sightings and asked Ahio for the same thing to make sure she wasn't joking, and unfortunately, he confirmed it to be so. Daniel knew the response Noland was going to give and warned him that Nero most likely spared his companions to chip them in order to draw him out of hiding. Noland was aware of this and asked him if he thought winning against Nero was possible if those three continued to work under him. He also noted that their chances at getting help might be even more difficult if word gets out that the Resistors are also helping Nero destroy the Bakugan. The Terrorists didn't want to in fear of being overrun, but they complied with it due to the fact that Noland may call off the alliance if they refuse. 

They all launched their Bakugan and looked down at the massive army from above. They had already began attacking the state with the battle being a bit one-sided due to Allen, Markus, and Tank's interference. Noland and Daniel's group confronted the three, causing them to divert their attention away from the battle and chase after all of them according to Nero's goal. Makoto suggested for them to lure them away from the battle so they can be dealt with without interference from the Pack, so they all retreated back into the wilderness. Daniel then ordered Kuzuha to form a large shield around their area just like she did at Noland's school in order to prevent anyone from coming in or getting out. Everyone split into three groups to face the three Resistors. Noland and Daniel fought against Allen, Tracy and Makoto fought against Tank, and Seiki and Akane fought against Markus. The battle that was heavily focused on was Seiki's battle considering both girls were known by the opposite teams to have lower brawling potential than the rest, and they were fighting someone who was arguably on par with the national champion. 

[Seiki Maki]

Seiki sighs and shakes her head at the comments form earlier. "I prefer not to fight on the front lines because of the lives of humans." Looking over to Noland and the others before continuing her thought which she was saying out loud to herself, looking back to the ground. "Each one is precious... Then is..." She pulls her hands out of her pockets for a moment, looking at them with a dull look in her eyes.
"Mine?"
She murmurs to herself, hands back in her pockets and continuing to look towards the ground, causing a shadow to loom across her face. It's not like she wanted to, she just so happen to be caught up in this mess.

"Hellooooo? Seiki-chaaaan?" Ahio calls, in her full monster size, waving a wing infront of her face with no response from the said person. "We have a serious fight to win. If ya want, you can think about whatever you are thinking about during the battle... Though I wouldn't advise on that. If you really do want to think about whatever you are thinking, I should highly recommend that you think about it after the fight." And she just kept on rambling some motivating stuff. Torahu's roar of battle snapped the two ventus brawlers out of moping in the corner or continuously talking about stuff, and prepare themselves for a rough battle.

“Hm?” Seiki looks up from her deep thinking, looking at Ahio who was right up in her face. “Gah! Get away from me!” She jumps back an inch or so, patting her heart to calm herself down from the small surprise Ahio gave her. “Geez! Stop staring at me and hop into the battle!”

The bird gives a chortle, her actions of scaring her had caused per partner to lean a bit on the bad mood, but that’s just her. “Hai hai. Just waiting for your command!” Ahio happily chirps, flaying into battle and giving her ground shaking battle cry. Seiki hasn’t really been herself lately after the comments of her and Akane being worthless, did it really shake her up that much to the point where she herself was doubting her worth? She may not show it but she tends to bottle up all her pain, not willing to tell anyone about it and was very uncomfortable speaking up for herself when it came to these kind of situations. Ahio glances over at Seiki, just to make sure she was in a stable state before keeping her mind set on stopping Markus. Now that she thought about it, he seems a little off too. Seiki may not have noticed, knowing her always shutting herself from most people, but there was just something unsettling about the darkus brawler.

“You set the gate Akane.” Seiki simply states, pulling out her deck of cards to play. I’ll show them that I’m not worthless… I’ll show them I can fight!

[Akane Huomoto]

Akane stands, clutching her fist beside her form in anger. “Tch, I’m not weak.” She looks to the battlefield where she knew there would be chaos shortly. “Far from it…” She looks over at Torahu, currently the size of an average housecat sitting at her feet, who gives a nod in response to her partner’s statement.

“I agree with ya there, that you’re strong. You're able to wipe out any brawler you encounter on the street!" The flaming feline looks to the side, fidgeting slightly as she spoke her next words. "But… To be honest with you...” The feline says, having her tone quite down slightly. Akane raises one eyebrow and looks at the blue flaming tiger with a look that says ‘Go on. I’m listening.’ But in a more… threatening looking manner than it should be. “When you’re grouped up with those two… You are the short stub out of the three.”

“Why thanks… Nice to know that your closest friend also sees you as weak.” She says, her eyebrow twitching slightly, her fist clutched even tighter than before. She looks over to see Seiki who didn’t look too good, looking at the others, then her hands. Usually not something good last time the pyrus brawler checked. “Welp, we better start the brawl ourselves, seeing how the wind girl over there seems to be dazed out.” That comment probably stabbed her in the back as well. Maybe harder than it did to me.

“Come on Torahu, let’s show them what we can do. Can’t have all the boys have all the fun, can we now?” Akane asks with a small smirk upon her face as the said bakugan leaps into the field, returning to her original size as she leaps in the air, and landing on the ground with a pound. Once safely on the ground, she raises her flaming muzzle to the air, and releasing a roar, her mark of the start of a battle she is partaking in.

"Yup! I'm with ya there Akane!" Torahu says, commenting on what Akane had just said, a grin on her flaming face, her two blue fire tails waving behind her. "I'll do my best, 'cause I feel the same way!" The tiger looks over at Seiki, to see if she was going to join in, so she could converse with the bird for a bit maybe, to get to know each other a bit and plan a bit out on what to do? ... That would be mainly felt to their partners though...

The girl she was going to be fighting alongside with for this battle seems to have snapped out of whatever thoughts she was thinking, and had her bird bakugan fly into the battle. She had then issued a request- more like an order, to set the gate and get the fight going. “That girl reminds me of Daniel for some reason…” She grumbles, taking out the gate card and throwing it into the field to be used later on whenever it was needed. "Here we go..."

[Markus Hederick]

Markus stood across from the girls when Allen and Tank took the other opponents. He was undoubtedly disappointed in who he was having to fight. His only concern was getting better, and he was only going to do that if he was able to hone his skills battling against the best brawlers out there. He looked across the enclosed space they were in and became eager to fight the opponents Allen and Tank were facing instead of who he was being attacked by now, which was evident by the smug look he had on his face when returning his attention to the girls thinking that he was too great to have his time wasted by the bottom of the barrel. "I work my ass off getting my brawling ability high enough to be an All-American, and I have to face these two out of all of the brawlers I could battle, and one of them is not even a brawler? This makes me sick," Markus openly stated. He sighed loud enough to where his foes could hear him, making his annoyance at their insistence to face him evident. He started placing an ability on his BrawlX as he gave up and decided to get the battle over with as soon as possible. "The only reason why I'll allow you two to entertain me with your incompetence is only because you're on our hit list. Lets get this over with."

Gargulion lifted himself off of the ground upon Markus initiating his command for battle. He began hovering in the air as Markus activated the ability. "Ability activate! Shrouded Obscurity!" Gargulion looked up and shot a black sphere into the sky. Once the sphere reached a certain height, it dispersed. The result was an energy coating the surrounding area that reduced visibility as well as endowing Gargulion with an aura that enhanced anything that he desired. "You ladies aren't afraid of the dark, are you?" Gargulion mocked. He chose to increase his speed, which made a fearsome combo to handle when combined with the fact that his opponents will have difficulty seeing him due to the darkness that is inhabiting the area. Once this was completed, Gargulion abused his new-found agility and began attacking his opponents rapidly with his claws while benefiting from the darkness masking his approach.

[Akane Huomoto]

“Tch, arrogant idiot,” Akane scoffs, her left hand balled up into a fist. “Now I really am going all-out for this brawl.” She then narrows her eyes at the activation of the darkus ability. At this rate, Torahu wouldn’t be able to land a clear hit on Gargulion in the dark. And with his speed kicked up a notch, chances of hitting him is… Very low. How am I supposed to approach this? … Maybe I could use the help of the “non-brawler” The pyrus brawler crosser her arms and looks at the battle in a slight daze. Or I could help her… She really must be having a hard time there… Gaah, stupid emotions! Just this once. Just this once I’ll help out someone weak. And with that, Akane glances over at Seiki briefly before activating her ability. Hopefully, she saw it, got some hint from that, and go along with it.

“Ability Activate, Nibi Blast!” The tiger jumps into the air, closes her double colored eyes and spins in the air. The blue flames she’s constantly engulfed in had doubled, perhaps tripled as the feline spun in the air. Not too long after the flames were charged up, the flames shot all around the place, one of the fireballs had shot Ahio, but it didn’t harm the bird in any way. Once that was done, Torahu stops the spinning and lands back on the ground, her blue flames now twice as big.

Torahu looks over at Ahio, “Hey. Bird. Wana tell your partner to hurry up and activate an ability? Gargulion won’t hesitate on attacking us again… Especially when he clearly has the upper hand.”

[Seiki Maki]

Ahio looks back at Seiki due to Markus said the nasty comments about both bralwers, pyrus and ventus. She’s bottling up the pain again… That really isn’t good for her health at all. The three legged bird says to herself before turning her attention back to the brawl at hand.


The field started to darken to the point where Ahio was very close to blind, unable to see in the darkness. Except for the blue flames that the pyrus tiger emitted, which the bird kept fairly close to. She tried to fend herself, but with the area being pitch dark, and her opponent’s speed increased, there Ahio was doing a bad job trying to protect herself. And if she could barely defend herself, forget about trying to attack because there was just about little to none of a chance that she would be able to land a blow on the darkus bakugan.


Seiki sighs and looks down at the ground again, partially looking at the cards she had in her left hand, fanned out so she could see her options. “Seiki-chaaan! You should try a good offensive ability!” Ahio chirps, still close to Torahu’s flames.
Then I'll go talk to her about her feelings after the battle... Thinking back to everything, I don't think she'll be able to take too much of this verbal bashing!

“Hm?” The said brawler glances up at her bird partner before looking back at her cards. Hm… Then maybe… She takes the card she had selected with her index and middle finger and holds it out, keeping the other cards stacked back up and clutched in her hands, “Ability Activate, Senbonzakura!”


The three-legged ventus bird jumps up into the air, not too far from the warmed Torahu emitted, and summoned her many feather-kunai blades. With Akane’s supporting ability active, the uncountable quantity kunai-feathers were engulfed in the same blue flame Torahu is constantly engulfed in, and were shot in my different directions into the darkness. “This may or may not hit the gargoyle… But there are about thousands of blades being shot in multiple directions, and in the burning blue flames, it should damage twice as much as usual. Well, deliver more damage than usual.

[Markus Hederick]

Gargulion became very cautious of his opponents attack once it was released. There were too many blades being shot, which made it very difficult to keep track of them. He also had to deal with the fact that Torahu had enhanced the attack's power to do even more damage, which could prove to be deadly if too many blades are able to have an effect on him. Markus seemed to agree with this tactic since he didn't have any protection from their ability yet, and this could likely be a one-shot ability if handled incorrectly. "It seems like Akane is the more threatening opponent out of the two. It must be out of her comfort zone playing support for someone weaker than her. It's not like she has a choice in this situation anyway," Markus said to himself with a slight chuckle, silently placing an ability on his BrawlX. "Ability activate! Solid Wall!" Gargulion hunkered down on the ground after being bombarded by the opponent's attacks. He steadily rose a stone wall in front of him that constantly absorbed the impact from all of the blades. The darkness created from his earlier attack began to wear down, bringing back enough visibility for the wall to be seen in its large stature; although, it had numerous cracks throughout its entire design due to the amount of hits it took. "Looks like someone's upset," Gargulion remarked after seeing the aftermath for himself.

Markus was not done with his attack either. He took the opportunity to create another offensive attack that wasn't going to be easy to squeak through. Placing another card on his BrawlX, Markus was set on annihilating them as quickly as possible. "Ability activate! Gargoyle's Beam!" Gargulion jumped backwards while gathering the energy necessary for his next attack in his mouth. Once the charge was complete, he unleashed a volley of green laser blasts at certain places on his Stone Wall ability. He did this to cause the wall to become unstable, which he would later abuse by having the wall act as a projectile. "Do me a favor and not move out of the way just to make the inevitable result of this battle quicker for me," Markus taunted. The blasts caused the wall to shatter, sending multiple large pieces of stone towards his opponents in an attempt to crush them multiple times over what was necessary.

[Seiki Maki]

“Hey Seiki-chan!” Ahio calls glancing back at her partner briefly before looking back at the rocks that were being hurled their way. “This looks rather familiar to some degree… Doesn’t it?” She chirps, flapping her wings eagerly. If Seiki knew what Ahio was referring to, then everything should be okay. But if she was dazed off like a few other times, then the two bakugan having rocks thrown their way would be in big trouble, and would have a very high chance of being made into a pancake for who knows when. “All I know is that I wouldn’t be a good tasting pancake with all my feathers…” The bird mumbles to herself, narrowing her glowing green eyes and getting ready for what’s next to come.

Torahu had commented something, hearing the bird’s pancake mumble, nothing that Ahio was affected by. Maybe she would do something to get the tiger back later after the battle, that is if everything went okay.

Seiki crosses her arms and had her eyes closed, trying to think back to what Ahio could be referring to. It didn’t take too long for the ventus brawler to figure it out, seeing how the brawl wasn’t too long ago. “Gotcha, here we go! Double ability activate! Headphone actor and sleep rage awakened!”

With that said, Ahio jumps up into the air and summons many powerful spheres of wind energy while opening her wings. “Here comes Headphone actor!” The orbs were then flying towards the rocks to make them smaller. Less of a threat and easier to push around with wind. “With a side of sleep rage!” The bird flaps her wings multiple times, blades of wind coming out from them, and the smaller bits of rocks were being blown over back to the opponent.

[Akane Huomoto]

Everything seemed okay from where Akane was standing. Maybe she would help out on some of the attacks. The darkness was clearing up, the rain of knives had made their mark, and… A rather bothersome looking wall was there. “Hey! What’s up with that wall?” Torahu roars before stepping back a bit at the sight of the wall being broken into rock pieces that were now being thrown at her. “And Ahio… You’re rather stupid thinking that kind of stuff right now.”

“Hm. Looks like the ventus girl has it under control… Somewhat.” Akane states, seeing how Seiki had broken the rocks into smaller bits and shot them back to Gargulion like bullets. “Maybe you should help out there and see how much damage we can deal this time around. No more darkness to get in the way. For now I guess. Ability activate, Sol Cannon!”

Torahu gave out a ground shaking roar, the rock-bullets Ahio was engulfed in the same blue flames that surrounded the knives, expect this time, the flames were caused by a blue flame version of the flaming feline which had jumped right into the rocks.

“Now the attack should intensify.” Torahu huffs proudly, her two tails waving behind her. “I just want to go and get my claws on that gargoyle though…”

Gargulion kept his eyes focused on his surroundings to make sure his opponents were not doing anything silly or tricky as they were known to do. He was surprised that the bird was capable of narrowly escaping his attack, but was familiar with how it was done considering the same action being done against Nero. It was now being deflected back towards him, and as expected, Akane boosted Seiki's attack once again. "Your attack is denied, Seiki," Markus declared. "Solid Fortification!" Gargulion transferred energy throughout his body in order to increase the sturdiness of his body. Due to this, his body was essentially armor due to the extra protection, allowing Gargulion to have all of the projectiles bounce off of his body without moving a muscle. "So this is what Gorem feels on the regular without any abilities. I'm a bit jealous now," Gargulion thought out loud in mockery of his opponent's ineffective attempt to cause any damage.

Markus then made an evil smirk knowing that his opponents were unable to cause much trouble to him at his weakest. He was now prepared to step it up a notch to really cause some trouble. "You ladies ready for the workout? Warm up's over," Markus boldly stated. "Ability activate! Void Ripper!" Gargulion's claws were drawn with a dense purple aura. He swung in place for a brief moment to prepare himself for his next assault. As he did this, slash marks appeared on the ground from where he was standing. Gargulion did this to show off his power in front of his opponents. Whether or not it intimidated them was none of his concern, but he felt like he could do whatever he wanted regardless since he thought in his mind that his opponents couldn't stop him either way. "I wonder if you'll have a better chance if you switch roles. Akane lowering herself to your standards isn't really helping you damage Gargulion at all," Markus stated to Seiki before commanding Gargulion to begin his razor-sharp assault.

While Markus was facing Seki and Akane, Allen had his own battle occurring. He was tasked with defeating his rival and the terrorists leader. The battle was already underway with Noland and Daniel begining a assault, to no avail." C'mon great Master Blaze, what happened? When we fought against each other in the tournament you were so much more powerful." Allen taunted the duo." I guess when it comes to getting things done, you just keep falling short. Ability activate, Graviton Balistae!" Allen activated the ability, begining his own offensive.

Gorem charged the attack between his palms, the energy crackling as it built up. Once the attack was fully charged, he pulled back his hand, the energy forming into a spear shape above his hand. As he tossed the projectile, it sailed in between Kuzuha and Bane Dragonoid." What's wrong Drago, can't attack your friends? You and Noland are perfect for each other. You both can't get the job done in the end." Gorem turned his attention to Kuzuha." And you, always seeming to fall behind. Everything was in your grasp, but you were overtaken. You can never attain what you wanted, and you never will."

Allen cackled maniacally while his bakugan tormented the two with his words." He's right ya know. Think about it. Noland, you remember don't you? You have to. How could you not remember what happened that day. The reason you hate darkus bakugan. You weren't strong enough to win, so you lost it all. Your dad...gone. Your girlfriend...gone. Doomed to eternity with the thoughts creeping in thier head." What if I didn't follow Noland, what if I watched my own back." And its going to happen again, today. History is doomed to repeat itself, and your's isn't good."

Noland and Daniel were not having any trouble handling Allen in their battle. Their attacks were constantly pounding Gorem and were successful in keeping him on the defense, but unfortunately, that's where Allen always shines. Due to his renowned defense, the battle was in a similar state to Seiki and Akane's situation with Markus. Gorem was not being damaged enough by their attacks. His resilience was only made worse by the Pack's constant howling and pounding on the barrier. He didn't want to admit it, but Noland was not fighting at full power for three reasons. Being forced to strike down his best friend was hard for him to cope with this early in the battle, so it was going to take some time before he got in the position to toss those thoughts aside. The Pack was outside of the barrier, and he anticipated they were going to have to fight their way out if they come out of this alive. He also remembered what happened the last time Daniel used a technique like this when the entire thing was nearly shattered by Noland's attack. If that happened here, it would certainly be game over.

Noland was getting used to the thought of fighting Allen like this before being ruthlessly berated by his rival without warning. Hearing those words come from Allen and Gorem hurt him more than when anyone else said something like that. Drago's jaw dropped after hearing them speak for the first time since their battle started. "Damn...Nero knows how to push our buttons. He took this way too far...," Drago sighed. Noland's anger was steadily rising with every word related to the incident leaving his mouth. The anger wasn't directed towards Allen since he was aware of what was going on with him, Tank, and Markus. Nero was deserving of every hint of hate that could come out of hearing anything on that scale spat at him in this manner. "Not only did he take control of their actions, but he also distorted what they knew about us and turned them into dark thoughts," Noland noticed as he placed his right hand on his head and looked down for a moment.

After briefly taking a moment to ease his nerves, Noland looked up and faced Daniel with a very serious look on his face. "We're going to help each other subdue them, not kill them. I repeat, SUBDUE, not kill," Noland stressed to him with emphasis placed on the word subdue. "Regardless of what they just said to us, they don't deserve what Nero deserves. You'll have more than Nero to worry about if you bring harm to these three without our consent." Noland then placed an ability on his BrawlX to respond to Gorem's attack. "Ability activate! Rage Fire!" Drago covered his left arm in a fierce flame when the card was activated. He stepped in front of Gorem's projectile and swiped his ignited arm across his body. This created a wall of fire that swept across his body while he was still in motion. It was powerful enough to completely cancel out Gorem's ability and give Kuzuha enough time to form a counterattack. "You should be able to take Gorem if you stay out of close quarters," Drago advised Kuzuha, secretly referencing her inability to handle any Bakugan up close.

"Fine by me. Just don't let your emotions take the best of you." Daniel replied to Noland who requested him no to kill Allen or Gorem. Daniel assumed that Nero's true purpose of having three Resistors at his side was not just to add more power to his army, but also to provoke other Resistors and especially Noland who had quite dark past with Vince and Alana. 
And who could be the best one to use for provocation? Of course, Noland's best friend and colleague, Allen Silva. Noland would never attempt to hurt his friends, so this was a huge advantage to Nero and his army; Noland's friendship towards those people.
"Kuzuha, let's not waste precious time." he continued and set an ability card into his gauntlet. Card flashed inside the gauntlet and produced amazing violet light combined with a shade of red. This ability caused Kuzuha to be  levitate in the air as violet fire started to form around her wrapping her up in the process. Unlike flames Drago was using Kuzuha's violet flames were somewhat weaker, but were specialized in a different way than Drago's. Her flames don't cause that much damage, but were specialized in causing unexplainable and huge pain to opponents who get hit by them.

"And you try to stay alive." Kuzuha first replied to Drago on his advice. Daniel finally activated the ability to its full power and spoke: "Ability activate! Violent Violet! Go ahead, Kuzuha! Don't hold back!"
Kuzuha then made a thrust and landed on the ground while being wrapped in violet flames. She then rose her Monk Staff and yelled at Gorem: "If a little chip can do that much to you don't expect anything less from me, Gorem".
All flames that formed around Kuzuha wrapped up her Monk Staff that drained them all and flashed in violet-red light. Kuzuha then pointed it at Gorem and released numerous violet flames which came together and fused into an amazing, huge orb of light and darkness. Kuzuha hit the ground with the bottom tip of her wand and yelled at Gorem: "Special delivery! Just for you!"
Violet orb rushed in midair towards Gorem at crazy speed and was constantly moving in zig zag to avoid possible counterattacks from Gorem. When it came to 5 meters orb blasted at full force and power hitting Gorem in the chest and causing an explosion. Explosion triggered another powerful force which then turned itself into a dark twister where Gorem was captured and seized in huge pain Kuzuha's special flames were causing. After a few seconds twister exploded causing additional damage and pain to Gorem with an after-effect of violet snowflakes sparkling and falling from the sky.

Not only did Noland block the Graviton Balistae card, but Daniel hit a ability on Gorem. Although it wasnt to powerful, that was a stain on his iron defense. Something he didnt want to happen again." Lets do this, triple ability activate." Allen comanded as he held up the activated abilities.

The first ability was Bound Barrier. The ability created a shield bubble around the Golems body. The shield served another purpose, disspelling the power of Daniels last ability." Sorry guys, but I hope that wasnt meant to finish me. But hey, it matches your giant resume of failure. " Gorem gloated, pleased with the sucsess of his ability, the next one was the Goliath Fortress ability. The ground shifted, and molded itself into a copy of the golem bakugan, where the only fitting descriptor is gigantic. Finally was Avalanche Vulcan. This evolved form of gravel roam was like a storm of rocks. With the addition of the Goliath Fortress, it was like the sky was covered with projectiles headed to Kuzuha and Drago.

" Did I hit a nerve Noland. Or have you finally accepted that it was your fault that they are gone." Allen continued to tear apart Noland mentally. That was the bonus of bieng one of his closest friends, he knew the weakest spots in his thoughts. That was were he was going to hit." That day must have sucked so bad. After a final battle to save the world from evil, you are the only one left. The hero doesn't get the girl, no fairy tale ending. Just the darkness of the mind creeping in. If I remember correctly you had given up compleately. Nothing to stop the voices in your head from eating away at you. Now just give up, let it consume you. Even if you fight, you'll just fail again. And this time there's no getting back up."

Allen didn't waste a minute to keep his mouth shut about Alana and Vince. It was too obvious what was his tactic; to distract Noland from the battle with those thoughts long enough to give Gorem the opportunity to strike. It was nothing unknown to Daniel since he had fought similar tactics in a very long past; fighters unable to win without dirty tactics. 
Still, Daniel had a concern about Noland's mind at this point, since he never knew if Allen's comments disturbed him or not. A little distraction could determine the outcome of the battle and that could not be good at all.
"You've talked for long enough, underling." Daniel said to Allen as his eyes started to glare in crimson as they used to before. "You cannot defeat Hardy, so you need a tactic like that?" Daniel continued as Kuzuha started walking towards Allen and Gorem slowly to reach some good range for attack. Even though she was not meant for close combat her evolved form could actually make use of opponent's strength. Daniel turned to Noland to make sure he was not falling for Allen's tactic. "Don't let that crap get into your head. You know what's Nero like. He will use all what he has got against you. Expect the unexpected and don't fall for this moronic strategy of his"

Kuzuha got in the range of 10 meters and Daniel put a card into his gauntlet. "Ability activate! Violet Infusion!" he yelled as Kuzuha got wrapped up in violet flames again as the last time he used an ability. At this point flames were much more intense and produced a large amount of energy. Even though she was wrapped in flames everyone there could see her body form changing in some way. Her wand started to transform as well. After a few seconds flames violently spread all over the barrier she casted previously and energy from flames fused with the barrier. 
Once she was completely visible it appeared that Kuzuha completely changed her body form. Her wand was transformed into a large steel hammer and she was clad in armor very similar to Gorem's. Even though that hammer looked very heavy Kuzuha was able to wield it without any problem. "Well, it was about time we used this" she said to Daniel and then pointed the hammer towards Gorem. "You still seem to be standing. Let's fix that" 
"I hope you like what you see, Iron Juggernaut. Kuzuha might not have so much power as Gorem in matter of strength or defense, but she sure can copy what her opponents do and use it against them. It lasts for only a few minutes, but all good things last short" Daniel said to Allen as Kuzuha prepared to attack in this form.
"Ability activate! Hephaestus Hammer" Daniel yelled as another ability was activated and started glowing in combinations of violet, white, red and brown colors. Kuzuha's hammer was charging up in brown Subterra energy as she rose it and used swiftly tossed it at Gorem in not so long range. Instead of hitting Gorem directly Kuzuha tossed the hammer at Gorem's legs. Once hammer hit Gorem's legs an ear-piercing sound roared through the battlefield as Gorem fell on the ground. "Alright! Ability activate! Hephaestus Ground-Splitter!" Daniel yelled in activation of another ability.
Kuzuha's hammer returned back to her as a boomerang and then she jumped above Gorem. At that point she forcefully swung her hammer that you could hear the sound of metal blasting through the air. Hammer reached its point and hit Gorem which was still lying due to first Kuzuha's ability and produced an ear-piercing sound again. It was so loud and powerful that ground below Gorem started crack severely.

Upon doing this move Kuzuha returned into her normal form since Daniel's ability expired for that battle. Unlike usual moves Resistors or Terrorists would see from Daniel and Kuzuha this was one of their infamous techniques of copying. Now that Kuzuha was back in her normal form she jumped back and landed near Drago. "Go for it" Kuzuha said to Noland and Drago who were waiting for her to land her attacks.
