The fierce blow that Axostriker dealt to Gladion was nearly fatal, missing the mark by about a fraction of a percent. The wound to Gladion's chest was so severe that it kept him from moving. The amount of pain he was suffering through could hardly be depicted by the the plethora of blood that left his body afterwards. Tank was very fearful now, too fearful to even speak; the audience agreed with him too.
With all of his previous doubts at the beginning raining on in, Tank was readily intent on pulling the plug on the battle by commanding Gladion to return to ball form immediately. Before he could say that, the referee was ready to call the brawl off as well since it has gone way too far. In his wounded state, Gladion told them all that it had gone far enough, and that he was going to end it. Tank was hesitant on agreeing with Gladion in continuing since he was aware at this point that if he takes another attack from Axostriker, he'll die.
Blade told Tank that it really didn't matter whether he chose to surrender now or when they meet in the regular season; the result would always be like this. He did suggest that Tank allows Gladion to die now so he won't go on believing that he was actually going to be a threat. For a cheater to make this type of comment made Tank angrier than he had ever gotten before. The referee ended the battle and declared Blade the winner so that the violence stopped, but it just wasn't that simple. Axostriker still shot at Gladion to finally kill him.
Tank activated Art of Battle - Legion to call on two of Gladion's companions: Aquos Legionoid and Nemeoid, a warrior and a lion respectively. The two Bakugan moved Gladion out of the way since the latter was unable to do so himself. Blade thought of that as a temporary nuisance, so he ordered Axostriker to rush them using his improved speed to smash Gladion's head. Tank equipped Gladion with the Scythe of Kronos to slow down time long enough for Legionoid to lodge Axostriker in an uncomfortable position on the stadium walls with a javelin.
Catching Axostriker in that configuration proved to be beneficial to Tank since his body was absent of the power he had before he changed. It brought Tank some time to gather what he had left. Gladion lent the Claymore of Zeus to Legionoid so he could continuously discharge lightning at Axostriker, getting in the damage he could get. By this time, Axostriker freed himself and used Meteor Impact Cannon to fire a concentrated beam that was wide enough to include all three of Tank's Bakugan in the blast. Unfortunately, it was too late to do that since Tank had managed to activate Gladion's Divine Favor, restoring the wounded warrior to a state where moving around was manageable, but not very much; the weapons were an added bonus, Aegis being used to shield the entire party.
Blade despised Tank for not knowing when to give up as he was clearly outmatched in strength. Tank refuted that statement by saying that he already does know when to give up, but he chooses not to, repeating the same statement - the one from his dad - he said in the beginning; he also said that success doesn't belong to the Hurranians either, exposing Blade for cheating if it wasn't known already. Seeing that Tank was starting to gain control, people in the audience started to chant his name and his moniker, hoping to give Tank the encouragement to defeat Blade. Blade didn't seem to care about Tank's words and hoped to finish him off with Sword Axis, a counterpart to the Combat Axis he used earlier. Axostriker used bits of his armor to form a hilt where a giant energized sword protruded out of it. He had planned to use it to destroy all of Gladion's weapons in one swipe, which he could; one swing was said to eclipse numerous mountains as Blade said.
Tank thanked him for the heads-up since he was wondering what he was about to get his hands on. Not knowing what Tank meant by this, he looked at the opposing Bakugan and saw a crossbow in Gladion's hands, somehow being infused with the combined energies of Pyrus and Aquos, Burning Cold. He shot a bolt at Axostriker that traveled very quick, quick enough to force Axostriker to want to block it with his sword. Doing that caused the blade to burn and progressively become iced, but that wasn't the actual plan. The diversion allowed Legionoid to keep Axo bound in his location with Bear Traps. Gladion then threw Legionoid towards Axostriker for the use of Art of Battle - Air Strike and Weapon Thief, letting Legionoid soar through the air, disarm Axostriker of his weakened blade, and then slash him across the chest, delivering the Burning Cold effects onto his body.
Tank affirmed that Axostriker in this state was indeed stronger than Gladion, but that didn't do much. He openly declared to everyone that the training he and Gladion have went through together is more than enough to triumph over the ones who cheat their way to power. Gladion made sure that the next bolt he was firing was an explosive-tipped bolt. He used his powerful Force of the Gods ability to coat this specific bolt in divine power so that when it struck the frozen Axostriker, the detonation that occurred afterward would be enough to obliterate the Bakugan. To Tank's expectation, this did happen, giving him a well-deserved win over Blade and the Baltimore Reavers.
The audience went into a frenzy over the comeback. The PBL fined Blade on the spot for what he did and suggested that there would be some criminal consequences surely to come his way. Tank was relieved to see that he and Gladion were walking away from the brawl alive, but he stressed to Gladion that they were not doing that again. His cooldown was short-lived since Damian appeared to Tank just like he said he would and joked around about how much difficulty Tank had at dealing with Blade, suggesting that he looked like he was going to cry after Gladion was hit. Tank was prepared to get in a fist fight with Damian over his comments since he had quite enough that day and that Gladion almost dying is not a subject of joking.
Damian was hardly worried about Tank doing anything substantial since the latter was not in a condition to take him on. He did wonder if Tank changed his mind about how it felt to defeat someone wielding that kind of power, whether he felt stronger now compared to how he was before. Tank bluntly told him to fuck off; he never appreciated how Damian thought this entire thing was a game when people out there are being killed over this. Damian was truly shocked that Tank cared about the other competitors; he wasn't sure that Tank would be that sympathetic towards the others when he has a history of not doing so, citing Tracy as a specific example. Damian was actually impressed at how far Tank had come with his attitude. He left on that note, leaving Tank to question his own confidence after nearly giving up on the brawl towards its end.
