"Hmph...right back at you," the masked person replied. Indeed, Hades did not look harmed from taking that hit. In fact, it glowed in Dextra energy when the flames were threatening to stick. They disappeared off of its frame instantly.
"The powers Hades had now gives it even greater healing factor than yours," he/she revealed. "Ability activate! Hellion Grenade!"
Hades opened the canister on its chest to spit out numerous grenades. They scattered all over Apollonir to smother him. Some detonated on the ground while the others preferred an airborne explosion. Detonation not only delivers a banging explosion that scatters deadly lasers like an umbrella, but it also contains a smoky trail of energy that functions like a nerve agent. It attacks the victim's nervous system to deprive them of their powers.

Vince was slightly perturbed at how useless Apollonir's ability turned out to be. The only ones who could reliably do that were the other Legendary Soldiers. Just by Hades doing that, the masked person made Hades something more than just a mechanical Bakugan.
"Not bad..." Apollonir slightly commended. "Vince?"
"You got it," Vince replied. "Ability activate! Morph Dragon!"
This was a bit of a godly ability, one that many would question Apollonir for why he is able to do such a thing. It can be said that this is the less explosive, but more expansive version of Drago's cloning technique. That would be underselling the point of this ability though.
Apollonir starts by having some of his energy leak out until it forms into another Apollonir. The catch here was that this newly-spawned Apollonir did not have the same bodily characteristics as the summoner. It actually contained a bodily configuration of any Dragonoid evolution that is within his immediate tree of genes. Why dedicate this amount of effort into that, one might ask? Simple. Apollonir needed a way out.
The new Apollonir was a Dragonoid that contained the cyclone spin maneuver upon standing. This is what was used to counter the incoming laser and block off the effects of the nerve agent. While it would ultimately still consume the clone, the spreading of it was dissipated enough to where the actual Apollonir does not have to worry.
"I suppose that contraption doesn't have anything that would get me to move from this spot, would it?" Apollonir taunted.

The masked person was intent on not acknowledging that Apollonir was far too powerful. That was where the provisions from the key were supposed to come in. Was this energy not enough to keep up?
"Sure it does, but I do not want to lay all of my cards out on the table just yet," the masked person explains. "No matter what I really think about you, it isn't very smart for me to have to go all out against you while you're still comfy in your base form. I understand that you have two heightened modes just like Drago does. I now possess those capabilities too, so it is only a matter of getting you to use them before I have to resort to that."
The masked person input another ability to further this argument. "Ability activate! Soul Taker!" The ailing Apollonir clone was turned into smoke upon its disappearance. It flowed into Hades' mouths to give him its energy.
"Now for my next surprise...Spatial Transmission!" Hades already has the dimensional transporter built into it. Using the original Dragonoid's energy, Hades could finally put those four arms into good use. All four were displaced in individual portals. Apollonir would not know when one would come out. All anyone would expect is for one to emerge from anywhere on the field to pummel them into submission.

Apollonir paid attention to his surroundings without having to turn his head. He could sense when something was wrong. Fists emerging out of thin air due to dimension displacement was far from okay. He could move his head aside, shift his body to the left and right, and even jump over shots below the belt, but there was one thing he couldn't do: attack Hades in close quarters.
"You just had to say something about that, didn't you?" Vince sighed, implying that he believes Apollonir jinxed their situation by goading the masked person into doing this.
"That stuff isn't real anyway," Apollonir rejected. "You really should do something about this. He might get lucky and hit me with one of these punches in a little while."
"You believe in luck though," Vince noticed. "I think I should do something about this thingamajig here, but...I'll wait. You can handle it for a little while."
Vince activated something that was nowhere near what he probably should be using to counter a move like this. "Ability activate! Ignited Hammer!" Apollonir's skin was enhanced in a lava-like covering. His movement speed was increased dramatically in addition to the expected buffs in physical attack and defense. The defense was important here. If Hades does manage to hit Apollonir, Hades can say farewell to the hand(s) that touch him.
"Here's a surprise for you. I know you're not bluffing, so I'm going to play your game," Vince declared with a confident smile. "The only problem is...I might know the rules better than you do."

"Really? What a surprise. You were actually smart enough to include 'might' in that sentence," the masked person responded. The situation was actually in his/her favor.
Apollonir's covering wasn't a big concern for the masked person to warrant Hades to stop what it was doing. The dimensional punches were still in order. There was one person that ought to be attacked though: Vince.
"Ability activate! Photon Tail!" Hades pointed its tails in Apollonir's direction. Three miniature rings surrounded the tip of the tails before a piercing laser beam was shot out of them. Their damaging properties can be used to instantly go through techniques that are used to provide some sort of covering for the user. Thanks to the energy Hades now has, Apollonir may find his lava covering to be see-through.
In the midst of that distraction, Hades displaced his central head so it could bite Vince from any direction. It first appeared above his head, hoping to kill him instantly without him ever recognizing it.

The masked person must have been underestimating Apollonir by A LOT if he/she thought what Hades was about to do was going to work. Vince didn't bother to move out of the way. He knew nothing was going to happen to him.
"I used that word to make you feel better. I didn't want to discourage you from trying," Vince laughed off. When the Hades head came to chomp on him, Vince watched as Apollonir planted one foot on the floor, pushed himself backwards, and elbowed the Hades head in the jaw to completely blow it off.
"You have impressive skills, no doubt. The problem with you is that you don't have enough confidence in your own abilities. That is why you need that key in order to get me a little scared of you," Vince explained. "To me, it looks like you're relying on that like it's a crutch. You can't stand up to me without it, and that's fine. I just believe that you should be honest about where you stand rather than using foreign power in an attempt to do something stupid. You already chose to learn that the hard way, so here it goes."
Vince swiped a new move on his BrawlX. He had to do something to get rid of the constant bombardment of fists out of nowhere. "Ability activate! Dragonic Burst!"
Apollonir surrounded himself in a tornado of fire that obscured his figure. It disappeared into thin air before crashing down in the center of the battlefield like a comet. Doing so created a shattering explosion that repelled the fists. Using that same explosive power, Apollonir jetted towards Hades and struck it in the chest with his horn.

The masked person stuck to his/her guns and played an ability, regardless of the detrimental hit that he/she was about to take from the shock of the impact. It struck him/her, but the body remained intact, possibly due to the immense durability he/she has. The only problem was that the mask cracked a little.
"Ability activate! Lash and Bash Extreme!" Apollonir willingly coming into close quarters was beneficial. It allowed Hades to grasp Apollonir.
The black markings along its wings retracted to reveal miniature barrels. They shot a tether-like electrical substance to bind Apollonir. The pain that Hades just endured was transferred away from its body into Apollonir's. In addition to that, power was continuously being siphoned away from the legendary Dragonoid. Hades then used all three heads to fire a concentrated beam towards Apollonir's chest. The concentrated fire from all beams coming together would surely burn him from the inside and out.
"You've always had a way of talking down on people. Have you ever gotten tired of that?" The masked person chose to say this next line without masking his/her actual voice this time. "Because I sure have!"

Vince was taken aback that he/she decided to use his/her real voice. That surprise slowly turned into absolute disgust. He recognized that sound. He just refused to believe in it. As long as the mask stays on, Vince will be fine. If that mask gets blown off, and he sees who he thinks is under there...some problems may get introduced into his thought process.
"What a...nice...surprise..." Apollonir grunted after being forced to endure his own hit and another one that could actually kill him in a few seconds.
"Hmph...says the fool who can't even surpass an overrated brawler and his Bakugan," Vince retorted to the masked person. "Ability activate! Dispel Roa!"
Apollonir's body gleamed in a scarlet color. His power traveled throughout the area, introducing cracks and distortions within reality itself. His body was effectively reset while the same would happen to Hades. Hades was also pushed back by this display of power, as it should be.

Apollonir's move emitted energy that traveled across a wide distance, obviously. This meant that the mask was in the blast radius. Having already been damaged, an ability with the power output of Dispel Roa certainly did its job of forming even more cracks in the mask's design. Enough cracks had formed to make it not even worth having on his/her face anymore.
"That sounds like complacency to me. You can't know that for sure unless I stop giving you the benefit of the doubt," the person said. "A lot can change in four years. Even more things can change when you've been manipulated by the darkest forces ever known to the Bakugan."
The person started removing the cracked portions of the mask off of his/her face. Eventually, nothing was left on there, exposing this person for all of them to see.
"I know it sounds like bias coming from my mouth, but I'd say that things can turn upside-down when a so-called 'friend' decides to betray your trust," he smiled.

Apollonir shook his head. He was truly disappointed in what he saw. It's not a surprise to him though. He knew this was coming. "I just did the universe a great disservice by allowing you to disgrace our surroundings with your disgusting face," Apollonir berated.
He then looked at Vince who was likely more disappointed than Apollonir was. "I'm sorry, but you should have just let him die. This is ridiculous. THIS is the guy I have to deal with to make sure the BT System doesn't get activated? You've got to be kidding me. At this point, I've seen it all. In my eyes, him and Kyuki look the same."
Vince nodded in acceptance that this was the person that he saw. He couldn't quite get a grip on his focus at that point. This was pissing him off so much that even someone as composed as him started to lose it.
"This battle here...would be the right way to handle it if I wronged you that much. I'm the one that 'held you back,'" Vince replied. "My son didn't do that to you. These people didn't do that to you. The Bakugan didn't do that to you, but fuck that, right? You'll just go after them anyway and use a doomsday device on a world that's still alive. You're right that a lot can change in four years, and the change that I've seen from you is that you've forgotten what it was like to be the actual you."

"You don't think it's fair to use the BT System on a world that supposedly has hope, but it's fair to hold what I did while under the Doom Card's possession against me. You make me sick," Andrew condescendingly spat. "Enough with your heroic bullshit, Vince. Look at the facts! We are losing! You give those fuckers an inch, they'll take a whole mile!"
"What hope could you possibly have now that doesn't lie with the BT System? All you're doing is delaying the inevitable. The people of Earth are going to die anyway, so I don't see why I'm such a bad guy for wanting to use it. They won't even know what hit them, but they will have an idea of what it feels like to have a parasite running down their spine if they were to follow your dumbasses. Even the Silver Knights couldn't prevent themselves from being taken over. What more can they possibly do?"
Andrew pointed directly at Apollonir as he made this last comment, and - quite possibly - a valid criticism of what he had failed to do before and what he will fail to do again by the way he is behaving. "And you, Apollonir, you of all Bakugan should have been in support of it. You slaughtered thousands of people when you used it the first time. Where did all the sympathy come from? Are you afraid that your incompetence will leave one microorganism alive again? You're the worst one out of all of us! If you had done your job, we wouldn't even be in this battle! You have failed the one population that you tried to protect! You're a joke!"

Apollonir did not let what Andrew just said to take his emotions over the top. This guy wasn't even alive during the time the initial Hurranian outbreak happened. How was he supposed to know that a Hurranian organism would survive? He doesn't even know how that was possible. All he knew was that the BT System was intended to destroy them all after he reconfigured it with his power.
"You want to know why I'm not firing it? Okay. I'll tell you why. Since you seem to like doing this so much, let's look at some facts," Apollonir gave in. "There was no evidence of the Hurranians being on any other world. We knew that the population on Vestal was scarce in comparison to the overall population since many of them had fled the planet. That is why I used it then, because I considered the loss of life to be minimal in the grand scheme of things."
Transitioning to what the current circumstances are, "Now, it isn't that simple anymore. We have evidence of Hurranians existing on two separate worlds now. In the event that I fire the BT System on this planet, I would have to make sure I use it on Vestal as well. The amount of time it takes for the weapon to charge will still leave them alive long enough for them to come back here to assimilate those who are destroyed by the initial pulse. That means we would have killed everyone for no reason at all, because the Hurranians will still be left alive."
"How's that for having no hope outside of the BT System?" Vince came in. "Yeah, the Hurranians are here now. There's nothing we can do about what happened three hundred years ago. There was no reason to think that the weapon didn't get all of them. I'm sure the Legendary Soldiers made sure to check everything before confirming that their mission was completed. Even you had trouble tying up loose ends with that shitty police report you wrote early in your career."

"Hey! At least I'm the one out of the both of us who is man enough to actually fight these domestic terrorists. The only thing you were good for was standing behind us to watch us take all of the heat!" Andrew responded, clearly offended by Vince bringing that police report up.
"Speaking of which, what you said pretty much says it all. You haven't changed a bit. Here I am again being the one to take charge. Both of you are acting like what I have Hades using right now isn't a superior power to yours. The charging time by your standards is not applicable to mine right now. What you can do with your Switch Code pales in comparison. I know you understand."
"And what of giving Apollonir the benefit of the doubt that he actually scoured every corner of the planet to make sure that the Hurranians were exterminated? It doesn't matter what he did. The point is that the Hurranians are still alive, and that's all there is to it. Just because he tried doesn't make it okay. Clearly, he didn't try hard enough. You cannot complain of sacrifice when you already made their fates set in stone by what you failed to accomplish. Now, I have a weapon I intend on using, so if you will be so kind as to drop dead right in front of me, we can move right along in destroying these parasites so that other worlds will not have to deal with this outbreak."

Vince clearly wasn't going to get to Andrew with talk. He would be a fool if he expected it to be that way. At least Andrew is giving him a reason to use a certain card that he didn't really want to use.
In regards to the comment about the charge time, "Your assumption that the God's Tear will decrease the charging time is only a theory," he said, "one that I do not intend to test with the Hurranians around."
Vince slid his hand into his right pocket and picked up a card in between his index and middle finger. Anyone should guess what card it was when Vince casually tossed it into the ground. It was a Doom Card.
"Vince," Apollonir called. "No more games. Take him down!"
"Ability activate! King Dragon Fist!" Apollonir's right arm pulsated with power as he winded it up. He punched the floor, creating a molten wall in front of him that acted as a form of defense. When the wall was risen, pillars of fire erupted from the ground in a straight line towards Hades. It's a difficult attack to dodge due to the speed, size, and width of the pillars.

"So the softy finally grew a pair, huh?" Andrew was excited to see Vince put that card into the ground. "Funny. I was just about to use one myself."
Andrew placed his right arm out towards Hades and opened his hand to show his palm. A surge of dark energy was flooded into Hades, imbuing him with the same dark energy that was within Andrew's body from the Chaos Ability X "enhancement."
"Unfortunately for you, I'm through playing around too. Why don't we return to the good old times when I embarrassed you over and over again in battle?" Hades used Andrew's supernatural reflexes to jump out of the way of Apollonir's attack. It quickly pointed its tail at Apollonir's magma wall and shot a quick laser while in the process of dodging. The wall crumbled on impact. The blast's recoil stunned Apollonir.
"Ability activate! Saurer Cannon!" The blades on Hades' chest were converted to elongated barrels. The charge for this ability only lasted for three seconds, because the energy from Andrew and the God's Tear drastically shortened the time needed for this ability to come through. Once it was complete, Hades shot three swirling bursts of energy that combined into one large singularity. It was designed to one-shot both Vince and Apollonir on impact.
