Violent explosion went off behind Daniel. Crates and boxes, caught in the blast, exploded causing a chain reaction of explosions on the eastern side of the building completely annihilating any cargo laying around there. One one hand it was a large amount of evidence that was destroyed, but on the other hand it saved them some time of confiscating all of the cargo that would have been destroyed anyway. The question was- why would Glacies destroy their own cargo like that? They knew Daniel was around there, but that action was beyond excessive knowing all their expensive cargo was right there. Luckily, Daniel was far enough not to get caught in the blast, but he felt the heat of all the crates exploding one after another. "Damn..." He muttered while hidden behind the crate- they knew he was around there so it was pointless to hide any longer- eventually that gargantuan freak with the mechanical arm would hit the mark. There were eight people there- that would not be the easiest fight.
Daniel grabbed Lougel's Bakugan orb. All the slots on Daniel's gauntlet started glowing. He placed a single card into the card slot that began to glow in green the moment card was placed. Before that monstrosity could fire another round Daniel tossed Lougel's orb from behind the cover towards the group that gathered by the gate. Flash of blue and green was unleashed near the group and a large figure formed right by them- Lougel's monster form.
"Iron... STRIKE!!" Lougel shouted. His right fist collided with Saurus's face pushing the goliath back a few meters before the left fist collided with the chest putting the enemy off balance. Having bought some time for another action Daniel placed another card inside the gauntlet. "Freezing Water!" Lougel shouted the moment second card was placed. He leaped into the air and began shooting blue-colored star-shaped projectiles in rapid succession. Every projectile, having hit the ground by Saurus and members of Glacies, began spreading liquid in a 10-meter radius. Every person whose feet came in contact with the liquid could feel intense shivers going through their bodies- their feet were sheeted in thick ice which began to spread from the bottom towards the waists and then chests. Saurus, being a Bakugan was simply slowed down by the thick layer of ice, but it was nothing that would stop him. Lougel took a defensive stance expecting Saurus to come in with an attack at any given moment.
"Thanks for the courtesy Jimmy-boy, but we've got fists with your name all over 'em. How about all of you just sit down and take a nap?" Lougel said to the cocky man.

"Grrr..." Saurus growled. He was very displeased that some squishy Bakugan was able to get the upper hand on him even for a few seconds. He regained his balanced and stood up with breaking thin layers of ice with no effort. Captured men were wiggling- two guards were able to break out of ice since the layers were not as thick and moments after Jim broke out as well. "I don't think so, mutt." Jim responded as another card went inside his gauntlet. While this was going two flashes, blue and red, popped up revealing two Bakugans on Jim's side- Aquos Serpenoid and Pyrus Ripper. Ripper Bakugans were not a common kind and their high-offense focus makes them perfect for shredding through enemies' defenses- squishy enemy like the bipedal wolf before them would not stand a chance after being struck two times by a Ripper.
"Ability activate! Beast Energy!" Jim declared.
Saurus's body was surrounded by intense heat that began to melt all of the ice off Glacies along with the icy layers over the concrete surfaces. Saurus advanced towards Lougel as Jim placed three cards inside the gauntlet in quick succession. "Let's see how long you can keep up that confidence. Triple ability activate!" With that declaration from Jim, Saurus roared as if he was in some mad state. Mechanical arm was making lots of noises before reconfiguring so it could operate with its second form- a long blade emerged from the arm before being completely surrounded in intense heat. A single hit from such heated weapon would be plenty to cripple even toughest of Bakugans so Lougel would be in a world of pain if his swift movement betrayed him all of a sudden.
"G-Power Boost V plus Fire Flare V plus Pyrus Zero!" Jim shouted as three cards activated all at the same time.
With one mad roar and anger in his eyes, Saurus charged towards Lougel disregarding his own safety, safety of his own team or cargo in the area. Heated blade at the ready and a mass of power concentrated were a terrifying combination that was going to shred anything in its way and leave no one behind if hits were made successfully. Heated blade was surrounded with sparks and raging fire. "Time to say goodbye, punk!" Saurus roared madly.

Lougel prepared himself in advance for an incoming onslaught. He was not very happy to be facing a brute like that alone- even worse knowing Serpenoid and Ripper were going to join in any second. Having seen that amount of abilities and having felt an excessive amount of power coming from Saurus Lougel realized he was in a world of pain if he was to get hit once by that overgrown lizard. Not to mention that blade of his- that was going to be a pain to fight against without help from Alex or some dirty tactics. Saurus was under 15 meters away and with that speed there was no time for activating an ability card.
Lougel used his nimbleness and quick feet as best as he could to jump left, out of the beast's way. Like a massive train Saurus charged past him missing with initial attack of the blade, but managed to strike him with the right fist. Saurus charged right into the northern wall along with all crates over there causing an explosion and completely annihilating the wall. He was caught in the blast of fire, but it did not leave a scratch on him at all. Lougel was struck and sent flying before colliding with a stone pillar and breaking it down. "Argh!" He gasped and landed on his knees. After raising back to his feet he noticed he was already surrounded by three Bakugans since Saurus already came back from the wall seemingly not wounded in the slightest.
"He can't win this one- all I can is delay." Daniel concluded while placing a card inside the gauntlet. "Activate, Haste 2." He said. Green glow overcame Lougel- with that he began observing enemies' movements before making a move. His eyes were shifting swiftly from one point to another, his senses perked up and attention to surroundings maximized. He was ready to react to any more incoming attacks from all sides.

Situation looked hopeless for Daniel and Lougel, but they were going to hold their own over there for a while buying time for Alex to reach a good spot and attack. These guys brought it on themselves- Saurus unleashed such chaos right off the bat forcing Lougel to freeze everyone and steal their attention. Jim must have known Alex was somewhere as well, but with that much chaos in such a short period time he must have forgotten Alex was hiding away as well. Men who were guarding the gate and examining the crates were oblivious to begin with so they were not going to expect a sudden attack out of nowhere. The amount of power-ups that Saurus got packed with was absolutely ridiculous, especially with that berserk onslaught. What was that mechanical arm anyway? It looked powerful, but that did not seem good for Bakugan's health. As if Jim cared.
Upon reaching a good spot Alex placed Bakugan orb on the ground. They were on south-west; almost behind Glacies's back. "We're up." He said to his Bakugan. Orb released a faint glow instead of flashing to preserve the stealth. Glow expanded- light shaped into a Bakugan form and then disappeared revealing the Bakugan. It was a humanoid Bakugan; a knight clad in strong and shiny armor wearing a longsword and a shield- Azrael.
Alex placed a single card into the card slot. "Azrael, your turn to strike." Alex declared. Azrael's shield disappeared. He grabbed the longsword with both hands as it began to glow in golden color, surrounded by magnificent holy light. "Rage Bolt!" Azrael pointed the sword towards Serpenoid and Ripper. Electric energy was massed up and released in an arrow-shaped form that headed right for the enemies threatening to pierce them and blow them to pieces. |

Saurus did not take long to arrive from the impact area. Even though Lougel avoided the initial attack that fist did a mass of damage considering all buffs involved and enemy being a squishy. With Serpenoid's swiftness and poison and Ripper's high damage output chances of enemy winning were none and those of escape were fairly slim. "Saurus, stop playing around! Kill him!" Jim commanded. Saurus roared with his heated blade at the ready and charged towards Lougel one more time trying to get a clean hit on the enemy for the instant kill. Mad beast created tremors in the ground with its loud stomps, crushing any box or crate in the way and creating explosions along the way.
At the same time Serpenoid crawled aside, long and deadly fangs clearly visible from its mouth and green drops of poison dripping out. "Come on! Ability activate! Poison Spray!" One of the grunts ordered and placed a card in his gauntlet. Serpenoid hissed and with it began to spray noxious substances in gaseous form in Lougel's general direction. If attack was to hit Lougel would be slowed down along with taking damage over time.
"Ability activate! Fire Flare!" Another grunt yelled. His Ripper was surrounded in bright-red fire. Ripper formed a flare in his hand and glanced at Lougel in anticipation. He intended to toss the flare at Lougel and as he started to aim a painful screech escaped his mouth. Violent force rammed ripper in his back forcing him to kneel down in pain and stop concentrating on the flare which, consequently, caused the attack to be canceled out. "Argh! Where did that come from!?" Ripper shouted in pain barely able to hold his consciousness from the power packed in the impact.
Grunts immediately noticed a knight Bakugan in the back along with Alex. "Watch out! Enemy on the back!" One of them warned Jim and the Bakugans that have not noticed.

Lougel, with speed doubled, had no problems with, seemingly, desperate situation. Thanks to Alex and Azrael that Ripper was temporarily out of commission allowing them to act more freely in terms of offense. Thankfully, Saurus was charging madly without any coordination or calculation making Lougel's job much easier than he had expected. Serpenoid released a cloud of poison towards Lougel- it could be clearly seen and it was advancing rather slowly compared to Lougel's boosted speed. Using Haste 2 he did not waste any more time on standing in that spot- he jumped away completely avoiding the mad Saurus who just passed by and hit another pile of crates causing an explosion somewhere along the southern wall, but there was no time to pay attention to that.
Lougel walked away from the poison cloud avoiding both attacks successfully. Thanks to that speed card it was a walk in the park with all these slowpokes brainlessly attacking and not cooperating whatsoever. Everyone was doing their own thing- that felt like playing online games where cooperation is required; results are, normally, quite the opposite.
"Bingo." Daniel placed another card in his gauntlet and abandoned his cover to charge towards the area where Jim and his comrades were. He charged right towards Jim letting Lougel take care of other two Bakugans guarding Jim and the grunts. Since Saurus charged towards where Alex was Daniel was going to let those two take care of the gargantuan monster. After all, Azrael was more of a fighter than Lougel and he could take on that, seemingly, unstoppable force. "Alex, he's all yours!" Daniel shouted across the room.
"Iron Barrage!!" Lougel shouted. With a leap above Serpenoid and enhanced speed Lougel began to pummel the air below him releasing multiple energy shockwaves down below towards the Serpenoid and Ripper.

Alex and Azrael as Lougel slipped away from the Saurus's attack delivering the gargantuan beast to them. Saurus hit the crates only few meters away from them causing an explosion in process and emerging without a scratch... again. That thing was tough- those other two had nothing on him. It was not certain, but there was a possibility of Saurus turning his attention towards Alex and Azrael so it was about time they started taking countermeasures. "Gee, thanks Danny! It's what I always wanted for Christmas- to die." Alex responded knowing he and Azrael had to fight that thing.
Azrael's shield came back to him in a silver flash. "Stance: Falcon!" Azrael exclaimed. His sword flashed in red, armor and shield in green colors as he placed his shield forward awaiting for the incoming attack from Saurus. "Alright, you like breaking things? Three can play that game. Triple ability, activate! Enhancement: Darkus; Subterra; Ventus!" Alex challenged as he placed three cards inside the gauntlet one after another in quick succession.
Azrael's sword was embraced by dark aura- dark energy surging through the longsword. A faint symbol of Darkus attribute could be seen at the sword's base. Symbol of Subterra attribute appeared on shield's face causing the earth energy to surge through the shield. Finally, Ventus attribute appeared on Azrael's chest causing his entire armor to glow in green.
"Beast, here I stand!" Azrael challenged Saurus pointing his sword at the enemy.

Serpenoid may have not expected such swift comeback, but he was not stupid. As soon as Iron Barrage was activated he slipped away dodging the attack completely hissing in annoyance at how things were developing. Ripper, unable to stand up, was struck with every single one of those attacks taking critical hit after critical hit. He was sent flying into a wall right next to the warehouse's gate. He was not out yet, but he could not move either- perhaps Azrael damaged his spine. It could not be confirmed, but it seemed like it.
"Gah, I'm getting tired of these people already." Jim exclaimed in frustration. He turned towards his grunts and yelled in annoyance. "You were wondering why you're lowest ranks. Here is your answer. Do something or I'll tie you all up and beat you with a belt." He grabbed another card and placed it in the gauntlet. "Ability activate! G-Power Boost V!" It was going to be another engine-powered ability on Saurus.
Saurus left the previous target alone for a moment after crashing right near two new targets and the knight challenging him. "Huh? Another one?" Saurus angrily said. His blade was at the ready once more. He started running towards Azrael with another G-Power Boost V. With such power-up he could instantly kill anyone in this room. As he moved forward he leaped and landed right in front of Azrael and swung his blade at Azrael.
In the meanwhile, Serpenoid was in a duel with Lougel. "Ability activate! Iron Scales!" Grunt activated the card enhancing his Serpenoid- scales grew longer, sturdier and sharper turning Serpenoid into one moving pile of knives. He hissed at Lougel, carefully planning out the attack he was about to execute. "You can't run forever, bassstard!" Serpenoid hissed again moving left and right around his opponent. He then leaped towards Lougel in attempt to constrict him.

"Iron Strike!" Lougel shouted. His fist collided with snake's nose.
While Serpenoid was pushed back and its attempts of constriction temporarily failed Lougel could feel the ineffectiveness of his strike even thought it was straight in the head. His fist hurt from that as well. "Hmm..." He muttered. Haste 2 has finally worn off so he would not be able to perform hit-and-run strategy any time soon. It was about time to switch things up. It was a Serpenoid after all and in pair with a low-ranking brawler; should not pose a big threat, but they would need to be careful not to kill that thing. "First-world problems. Hold back so the weakling doesn't die. Ugh..." Daniel complained.
Daniel placed one card in the gauntlet. "Ability activate! Bestial Instinct!" Bright green flashed for a brief moment and green light surrounded Lougel granting him a new set of goodies for the combat. After the card was placed Daniel started running towards Jim ignoring his lackeys and focusing on the main prize. It was up to Lougel to beat up that Serpenoid- should not be too hard. Jim, being a scientist and all that, probably does not deal much with hand-to-hand combat. If that is truth then he was in a world of trouble.
"Put 'em up!" Daniel challenged and changed to a boxing stance.

"W-What...?" Jim muttered in confusion. "...how barbaric..." He responded to Daniel as he fixed his glasses up entering boxing stance as well. "These people are so useless. Guess I'll have to take care of you myself." He said. Perhaps it was a surprise to Daniel to see Jim willingly enter direct combat instead of resorting to a Bakugan. Maybe that was for the best- his lackeys were not exactly the most-reliable kind; it was a shame- even the lowest of ranks in Glacies should have some degree of skill and not be entirely useless as if it was their third or fourth brawl. Whose idea was to allow them to accompany Jim to an important mission? There should have been more high-ranking members since even police officers could easily dispatch these low-ranking nobodies.
"But first- let's use up the remaining trash." Jim said and then pointed at Daniel. "Make yourselves useful for once in your goddamn lives."
The rest rushed towards Daniel to beat him down ignoring ongoing fight between Serpenoid and Lougel. That meant less attention towards helping out the poor snake in its fight and making more important fights easier for the enemy. As they charged forward Serpenoid leaped towards Lougel again with its teeth ready to sink into the enemy's neck. |

"Alright then..." Daniel responded. "One or not... it makes little difference to me."
The first guy to approach him was not a challenge at all- he was an enemy one could find among average people on the street. No finesse to the combat style, no strategy or focus. Shouting and rushing towards your enemy with a raised fist? Might work in anime, but here? Not the case. Before he could strike Daniel slipped aside and put his foot in the man's way causing him to stumble and crash on the ground. Three guys who were, originally, guarding the gate approached Daniel with weapons- two were wielding some high-quality knives and one was wielding a pipe. They went for him all at the same time to minimize his chances of dodging or countering.
Daniel swiftly moved to the right kicking the guy wielding the pipe in the face. He was immediately out of the combat and Daniel grabbed the pipe. "Too bad all that fancy weaponry can't buy you skill." He mocked Glacies for their pathetic performance so far. Having seen their buddy drop down two others split up- one on the left and one on the right; that way it should be easy to defeat one person. Man on the left was another victim- instead of fighting with the pipe in hand-to-hand combat Daniel tossed it towards the man. Not expecting that turn of events man was struck right in the throat; Daniel was aiming for the forehead, but missed. For a brief moment man lost his balance.
The other one did not stop and went right for Daniel with that combat knife. Knife sunk inside Daniel's shoulder and a stream of blood came out. Man got very close- just in the perfect position too. Daniel, momentarily, dropped his finesse of combat and kicked the man in the groin with all the might he had. That bought him enough time- man squealed like a mouse let go of the knife allowing Daniel to pull it out, turn it and smash the man in the forehead with the hilt knocking him out. Other man regained his balance, but it was too late as everything happened too quickly- knife Daniel used flew towards the man striking him right across the face with the hilt and knocking him down and punching him in the face to give him the final 'fuck you'.
And then, two men who came along with Jim approached. They were accompanied by one more. |

"Alright, kid. Thanks for clearing out the trash for us." One of two Jim's bodyguards said.
"Now we're ready to rumble!" The other one said.
The third guy, who was not part of the group, became hesitant since some of his buddies were so easily defeated with only one hit landed and two of these guys were referring to them as 'trash'. It was clear that the relationship between Glacies members was not very smooth- especially when it came to that between lower and middle ranks. "W-wait... what..." He muttered. A surge of pain went through his body. He, face-first, crashed on the ground remaining motionless. The first one of the two who spoke was responsible as well- on his right arm there was something akin to a big taser. "Now that he's out we can party. Get ready, kid!" The one with the taser said.
Two of them rushed towards Daniel. Much quicker and careful than those nobodies before. They were moving unpredictably. First one was carrying an electrified cane and a big taser that was attached to his right arm. Other one was carrying, what seemed, like a blue katana in one hand and a blue dagger in the other. The first one shot several projectiles towards Daniel from the taser and the second one swung his katana creating a blade formed of, what seemed like, ice that headed towards Daniel. |

"Uh-oh..."
Daniel quickly jumped aside and rolled in attempts to avoid all those things coming for him. He successfully dodged the rounds coming from the taser and managed to slip right below the icy blade coming from him. "Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nooope..." He was muttering along while avoiding the projectiles. These guys were significantly more dangerous than the other ones he just trashed. Did they have more skill? Now that was questionable. They did seem to have training with those weapons from the way they wielded them, but it did not seem they were doing their best at hitting a nimble mobile target. Daniel got very close to the man wielding a katana and a dagger.
"I don't have time for this!" He said as a pictures of red circle with a red sun and red moon inside it appeared on both Daniel's palms. "O Flame, scorch the enemies before me and open up the path! Flamethrower!" Daniel shouted as he pointed both his palms in the direction of the man wielding the blades. Once both emblems were revealed streams of fire emerged from Daniel's palms and began to surround the man wielding the blades revealing obvious panic in his eyes.
As he did that he turned his attention to the man wielding the taser and cane. "Don't forget the scenario- this is the part where you ask for mercy." Daniel mocked. |

"What the f-...!?" Man with the blades yelled before being completely surrounded with flames Daniel launched at him.
Other man was looking in shock- just what in the fresh hell was this guy? Is this another one of those Synchronize freaks? Sure seemed like one of them. That was going to make this fight even harder than they imagined- it was like a human vs Bakugan battle. While Daniel still had weaknesses of a human he had strengths of a Bakugan as well so caution was absolutely necessary. "You've gotta be out of your mind, freak." Man responded with an obvious sense of uneasiness in his words. He was not as confident as he tried to be.
He pointed his taser towards Daniel and started shooting again. After firing about four rounds he could hear a metal click inside the taser with no more rounds coming out. "Shit..." He muttered and then charged at Daniel with his electrified cane and hopes he could take Daniel out in hand-to-hand combat.
Meanwhile...
"This is absurd..." Jim thought. He slowly turned away from the battles and headed for the gate.

At that point it became even easier than before. With that panic and shaking those shots were not going to count. Thankfully, simpleton was shooting for the upper body and the head- nothing what a bit of ducking and rolling could not fix. Shot after shot and miss after miss. In that desperation man charged towards Daniel head-on. Out of ammo? Good. Daniel did not really like that taser-like thing. Whoever made that should burn in hell. It was about time they stopped playing around and finished this business so they could finally get the cash and go home.
"Nah, I'm all fine and sane. But I hope you don't... mind laying down unconscious." Daniel responded to the man. He charged forward to the man. Red emblems on his palms disappeared only to appear before Daniel's eyes- in mid-air following Daniel's motions. "Mind Shock!" He said. He and the enemy made an eye contact and with a single blink the man just stopped in his tracks his face pale and tired. "Annnd done!" He said with the final punching landing in the man's face and knocking him out. Flames Daniel released before disappeared and revealed the other guard- not dead or scorched, but deprived of air and extremely tired- he collapsed moments later. Daniel looked at the one he knocked out and then the one whose willpower got barbecued. "Aw man, nice weapons you've got there- too bad I gotta leave them to 'authorities' to pick up." He said.
In all honesty- the only difference between these two with fancy weapons and others were... well, fancy weapons. Amount of skill in there was little-to-none. Why are these people in here...? Shouldn't Glacies have only high-ranking members in these kinds of operations? Just... what was going on?
"Hey- where do YOU think you're going?" Daniel shouted at Jim who appeared to be going out of the facility. |
