Gargulion's ability was so devastating that the five Soldiers who were in the battle were all forced to the ground and in a kneeling position. Vince himself was gritting his teeth while offering some resistance to the ability via the Switch Code. Even then, he was struggling to do anything.
"What...the...hell...?" the villain gasped. From the way it sounded, it wasn't going to be saying anything else.
As for Vince, he had to put a stop to this now. "Ability activate! Dispel Roa!" Apollonir was under a lot of stress, but he managed to unleash a battle roar strong enough to make red cracks appear throughout the arena. It completely overpowered Gladion's durability and Gargulion's ability. It destroyed both of his frames. The villain dropped to the ground and was now visible for all to see. The River Styx also seemed to evaporate from the sheer force of Apollonir's power as well.
Vince then threw Frosch so he could open right above Gladion's head. He was intending for Frosch to crush Gladion and prevent him from doing anything else.
"Seems...you aren't so bad..." the villain grunted.
"Shut up," Vince sternly ordered.

This was starting to get very serious. In Tank's eyes, him and Markus could be defeated at any second. Tank knew that Vince was playing this out just the way he wanted to. With all of the Soldiers at his command, why rush when he can just corner? That's exactly what he's doing now, and all him and Markus can do is squirm until they find an opening.
"Ability activate! Remnants of the Titans - Scythe of Kronos!" Before Frosch could land on top of Gladion, a portal opened next to him that slowed time for everyone except for himself and the Resistors.
Gladion took the scythe in hand and was about to get ready to set the stage for what's going to be the finale. To his surprise, things took an interesting turn...
"Gladion! Get down!" Tank shouted. Gladion immediately ducked for cover. A speeding Oberus zoomed past him. It didn't seem like she was being affected by the time slowdown.
"Thanks," Gladion said in gratitude for Tank basically saving his skin. He watched as Oberus clung to Apollonir and shared her speed with her. Through this, Apollonir was able to now move so fast that he could keep up with the time slowdown just like Oberus could. His body could support such an action due to his Ultimate Warrior Gene.
"What now?" Tank wondered.

"..." Apollonir was deeply impressed by what he was seeing. It was only appropriate to kick things up a notch now that it should be more than confirmed that Gladion and Gargulion can hang with the old timers.
He turned his scales black... That could only mean he was using the Hex Code. He'd have went into Duality, but he didn't want to tire his body out too quickly due to being under stress from moving like this in suspended time.
"Dianos Regulus X!" Apollonir activated. He opened his mouth slightly to begin the activation sequence. Gladion and Gargulion's energies were being siphoned out of their bodies and into Apollonir's. The power of the scythe was gradually being taken into Apollonir's reserves as well, which meant that the other Soldiers were getting ready to get back into the action.
"Lars Lion," Vince called out. "Freeze them."
"Of course," Lars Lion complied. She spoke a chant in Vestroian language for a couple of seconds. Gladion and Gargulion found themselves bound where they were. They couldn't move nor could they be damaged. That was the result of being subjected to the Forbidden Word, something that Skystar learned to do and used against Betadron earlier.
All Vince had to do was wait until it wore off to finish the fight. He planned to do so with Excedra. But...before that...
"Ability activate! Gate Building!" Vince activated. Clayf's hands glowed in the earthen, Subterra coloration. He raised land formations that acted as cages for the bound Gladion and Gargulion. With their options of escape closed, all it would take is for Excedra to do his thing...
"..." Vince stared at Tank with a little bit of sadness. Excedra came forward and began charging what would be the Final Wizard ability. It was only a matter of time now...
"...You came too far for this..." Vince commented on what was about to happen to the duo if nothing is done. "Don't let the Tribunal win... Please...do something..."

Tank gulped when him and Markus got trapped like this. He knew that the next couple of seconds would determine whether him and Markus get to walk free, or that this Jehova's witness asshat would be able to use them for it's own insidious plot. The only thing on his mind was that he had to win, but how?
These were all of the former Legendary Soldiers, and each of them on their own defeated all of the new ones even after they acquired their new powers. There's only him and Markus here now...
"...With all due respect, Mr. Hardy," Tank started as if he figured out the answer. The pupils in his eyes started glowing blue as he made his declaration. "I think you of all people should know about what we do against impossible odds. Putting us in a pinch is the WORST thing you could've done right now."
As Tank was getting his cards together, Gladion was showing his predecessors just how far he's gone since then. His power started making all of the debris across the battlefield rattle. Pieces of Clayf's structure started chipping off from the top. Gladion was also being shown to twitch under the influence of Lars Lion's spell.
"Ability activate! Warrior's Pride!" Gladion heard Tank's call and continued to fight. The feeling on his body was like a human with sleep paralysis. He roared in anguish as he continued to try forcing his body to get up and get the hell out of the way before they're obliterated by Final Wizard.
"Markus! Now!" Tank signaled.

Markus - still residing within Gargulion's consciousness - was getting ready to put this plan into action. Now was as better of a time than ever before.
"Not the gate, but the setup," Markus clarified to Gargulion.
"Let's go then," Gargulion accepted.
"Ability activate! Soul Shock!" While Gargulion was unable to move himself out of the way, the least he could do was control the core of his being into attacking. A ghostly arm left his soul and traveled through Gladion's body. While this looked painful, it didn't do any damage to Gladion.
The enemy Soldiers weren't so fortunate.
The arm split into a multitude of hands that scored hits on all six of the foes. It struck their souls to greatly stun them. The most important target was Excedra who was getting ready to have Gladion and Gargulion join them in death. His eventual firing of the Final Wizard ability would have to wait.
"You only have a couple of seconds since they're so strong. Please be quick," Markus stressed.

"I know," Tank responded. "Double ability activate! Curse of the Erinyes plus Weapon of the Gods - Trident of Poseidon!"
Gladion's uproar from Warrior's Pride created a pressure wave that broke himself and Gargulion out of their confinements. Gladion then turned his attention to the stunned soldiers. He pointed his hands towards them and opened them up. Out of his palms emerged a black energy stream that moved around on its own like snakes. It burrowed its way into the Soldiers' bodies.
It drove them to tormenting madness.
They were damaged mentally, which ultimately transferred to being damaged physically. The anguish they were experiencing was made worse by the fact that they were violating the natural order of the world, which was residing in the world of the living while being dead. Since the power of Hades didn't authorize such an action, they were paying for it tenfold.
While this was going on, a great atmospheric disturbance occurred above their heads. In a matter of seconds, torrential downpour threatened to flood the entire arena, and it eventually did. The golden trident descended down to the ground. Instead of going into Gladion's hands, the trident came down and stuck the villain in it's ass. The deathly scream made when that happened brought a satisfying smile to Tank's face.

"Hm..." Vince was very intrigued by Tank flooding the arena. Frosch is here, and Apollonir can fight underwater near-evenly with the best Aquos combatants. Either Soldier can get rid of this water altogether, so...why was Tank doing this?
He didn't think Tank was trying to drown them, especially when it would be simple to get everyone to breathe underwater or provide oxygen at the very least. Or...would it be that simple?
It could be seen that Vince truly wasn't understanding the turmoil the Legendary Soldiers were going through. Perhaps the effects of this curse was catastrophic compared to the effects it would've had on them if they were alive. When Vince considered this, he started to see why even Apollonir, Clayf, and Excedra - the most durable ones out of the six - were having a rough time out there.
"I guess you leave me no choice..." Vince conceded. "Ability activate! Aquos Cyclone! Apollonir, let's go dual."
To Vince's surprise, the activation of Aquos Cyclone was delayed. The reason why this is happening shouldn't have to be repeated, but for the record, Vince wanted to respond as quickly as possible since this attack of Tank's was a viable threat that could cost him the battle. He amassed Switch and Hex Code energy on his arms to get ready for what's to come.

"I don't think so," Tank denied. He was in the process of wagging his finger like he does in certain matches, but he stopped himself from doing so out of respect. "Gladion, how about we wrap this up?"
"Please," Gladion begged so he could get as far away from here as possible and eliminate all of this stress.
"Fusion ability activate! Whirlpool of the Charybdis!" This was a fusion ability that could be combined with any ability that utilizes water, even an opposing ability...
It was once said that a giant sea monster shows itself in the form of a grand whirlpool to swallow unsuspecting travelers. The enemies were the unfortunate travelers in this appearance of the monster. The violent whirlpool spawned in the arena and swallowed everyone, including Gladion and Gargulion.
The Trident of Poseidon dislodged itself from the villain's skin and went into the hands of Gladion. By holding the weapon, Gladion was able to freely swim around in the vortex without any hindrance. He made sure to pull Gargulion out so he wouldn't be included in the swallowing.

Prior to Gladion grabbing him, Gargulion grabbed onto the villain to make sure it didn't go where the Legendary Soldiers were about to go. They needed to have a word with this one...
Now that the stage was set for some knockouts, Markus was more than confident to give Gargulion the next command.
"Open the gate," Markus urged.
"Alrighty then," Gargulion acknowledged. "Gateway to Eternity!"
A large portal opened within the whirlpool itself so that those being carried by it will go through. The intended destination was back to the afterlife. This method of application only works against targets who are already dead, but live targets can be sent there if they go there willingly. Before that process could be completed though, Gargulion took the villain by hand and shoved his hand inside of his being.
"NOW I'm going to force you," Markus signaled. He forced the person to fix the boundaries it broke. EVERY. LAST. ONE. Given the condition of the person, overexertion of these powers was likely to be fatal. That was probably the plan altogether, because now that the oldies were swallowed up and sent back to where they were supposed to be, Markus had enough time to tell it,
"And now you lost," Markus declared. The flood waters were getting drained and sent to places unknown via Poseidon's trident. Gargulion landed on the arena grounds next to Gladion with a loud stomp. That was that...
"...I don't believe this..." the villain muttered.

"...That actually worked...?" Tank said in surprise of what just happened. Granted, Markus' battle strategies have started working as of two years ago, but this was something else. They actually fought against all six of those guys and lived. That's a bar story for sure.
Hearing this punk's talk now that the battle was over made Tank snap before he could revel in the victory.
"Believe it!" Tank immediately yelled. "Don't you see how weak you are while you're not hiding behind the dead? And to think I was even concerned about you before you summoned Mr. Hardy. I'm embarrassed to even be here right now!"
"There's that, and you're pissing on good people who sacrificed their lives so we could be here," Gladion made note of. "I have a HUGE problem with that. I'm gonna make you believe something before we kill you, and it's called RESPECT."

"Respect? Please..." the villain scoffed. "Respect goes to the cause... OUR cause... I've led hundreds of people to salvation..."
"You've led hundreds of people to their graves," Gargulion corrected.
"Death releases you... People like Mr. Hardy can now find their true selves and rediscover what it truly means to be alive... That is my respect to him...as it is to you, since you're already dead yourself..." the villain responded.
"How many of you are there?" Gargulion wondered.
"Hundreds...thousands...millions...billions..." the villain answered. "And you'll never find out who they are either..."
"So that's it then? Death is a gift, and using the dead to kill other people is like leading people to Christ?" Gargulion summed up.
"You think you understand...but you don't...and you won't...unless you joined us like I offered..." the villain shrugged. "But now, my turn to meet with Him is nigh...and then others will use me to resume this holy service..."
"Yeah, okay," Gargulion sarcastically accepted. He shoved a finger through the person's body to impale it. It then sealed the person's soul in a small, stone-covered sphere so that he could inflict what was the worst thing that could happen to someone: an actual spiritual death. This is a very illegal practice and could send Death his way, but fuck 'em. This guy deserved it.

With the deed done, Markus separated from Gargulion. He walked around, stretched, and took several deep breaths before finally speaking up on the matter.
"...Sorry about your arena, dude," Markus apologized, as if that was the most pressing detail he could've noticed. "I'd feel a little more sympathetic if you couldn't fix this place up yourself, which you clearly can and probably will do once you kick my ass for bringing this guy here..."
The villain shook violently in Gargulion's grasp for a few seconds. Gargulion threw the body elsewhere and grabbed Markus and Tank to get away from an explosion, but...the body didn't self-destruct. It actually formed into...a human...
"What the hell...?" Gargulion muttered as he went to inspect it. "Hey, Gladion. Come here a minute..."

"What now?" Gladion groaned. He walked on over to see what all the fuss was about. "Oh shit..."
"What? What's going on down there?" Tank wondered.
"I think... I think this might be a crime scene..." Gladion regretted to say.
"...Am I supposed to be surprised by that...?" Tank asked since it should be pretty obvious.
"No. I'm not talking about a scene with monsters or nano-machines. I mean a REAL crime scene, the one WE will have to talk with the police about," Gladion clarified.
"And the surveillance equipment likely got destroyed as a result of us fighting without suppressing ourselves," Gargulion added on. "This isn't looking too good for us."
"So, just hide the body somewhere and we'll be good," Tank shrugged.
"Well, I would, but...this guy right here...I know who this is..." Gargulion revealed. "This man...is Maurice's father..."
"..."
"..."
"..."
"...I don't want to go to jail, guys..." Tank stressed.
Before anyone could say anything further, a loud groan could be heard coming from Vince. The man was clutching his chest and was kneeling on the stand he was standing on. Tank didn't know what to do. No one really did...
"Mr. Hardy," Tank called out.

Vince was doing his best to cope with the unbearable pain he was feeling around his chest area. He didn't know what was causing it specifically, but he did know a root cause of it. He's not supposed to be here...
"T-tank...M-markus..." Vince struggled to get out. "...You both did an amazing job...I'm proud of you... You...you must send me back...and do it now..."

"...Oh man..." Markus groaned. The last thing he wanted to do was hear that command, but...he understood why it was asked of them.
Gargulion put Markus and Tank down, and then went into his robed form to see Vince at face-level. Gargulion positioned Vince down on the ground on his back and laid hands on his chest. Once he did that, Vince's condition started to improve. He was no longer in extreme pain.
"You were never resurrected, so...just being here harms your soul," Gargulion guessed. "You know if something happens to you here...we'd never see you again."
"Mr. Hardy, please, tell us. What's going on here with all of this shaking, Betadron, and the person that brought you here," Markus requested.
