Back at Noland's house...
"...So let me get this straight..." Sandra started. "You left this morning to go fight a Silver Knight Admiral, something called 'the Collision' happened that's going to eventually kill us all, you found out that the current Gundalian emperor is your half-brother, you find Tonya alive, and - to top all of that off - you have a son whose mother is Alana?"
"Yes!" Darius exclaimed with lots of joy.
"...So you want me to die from a heart attack again?"

"Of course not. That's why I'm telling you now," Noland assured her.
"I can believe everything else except for the parentage of this child," Sandra responded. "I know damn well that I didn't raise you two to be fucking any women right now, so why the hell do you think he's your son?"
"I thought the same thing, but then Montai did a DNA test and it matched," Noland insisted.
"So you DID fuck her years ago? Is that it?" Sandra sternly questioned.
"I never had sex with Alana," Noland strongly insisted this time.
"How else would this kid be your son then?" Sandra wondered.
"I don't know. Ask him," Noland passed off.

Darius could've just said what had happened now, but he was eagerly awaiting Sandra to ask him the question.
"Do you honestly expect for him to know that?" Sandra considered. "He looks young enough to not even know how babies are made. The only thing he might know is who he recognizes as a parent."
"Mommy and Daddy had sex then," Darius rationalized.
"Oh my God..." Sandra gasped.
"What? Daddy was the one who said it," Darius blamed.
"...How old are you, Darius?" Sandra asked.
"2 years old."
"..."
"..."
"...I'm sorry?"
"2 years old."
"I don't mean to pry, but...he's telling the truth. He is really 2 years old," Vladitor confirmed.
"But...but how...? He's so big..."
"I'd tell you if I knew," Vladitor shrugged.

"...You were not supposed to say that, Darius... You just got me in even more trouble...." Noland sighed.
"...You're lucky your father made so much money from the pro league..." Sandra told him. "Well, Darius is a lot more intelligent than a normal 2 year-old considering he's able to brawl, and he requires an unholy amount of calories per day to function, so this is obviously not a normal child. I feel like the reason why you and Alana are the parents may be a lot more complicated than it looks."
"Well, it must not be all that complicated. After all, you heard what he said. Alana and I had sex," Noland scoffed.
"Do you think Petra is going to be okay with this?" Sandra wondered, ignoring what Noland just said.
"..."
"...What? Why are you making that face?"
"...I'll tell you when I'm ready to talk about it, but for now, I'm single," Noland stated.
"...Okay then..."

When Noland and Kendrick were getting ready for bed after a LONG day, Kendrick walked over to Noland's room to see how he was doing. He looked at the Ratchet and Clank poster that was on the door before knocking. While he had nothing to say about that character in particular, he did show signs of hesitation from the long pause he made before knocking.
"Come in," Drago called out. That must mean that Noland knew he was there already.
Kendrick opened the door to see Noland sitting next to a col mist humidifier meditating. Drago was in his robed form sitting on the bed.
"Stress relief," Drago clarified. "What's up?"
"Nothing really... I'm just worried," Kendrick answered. "Is he going to be okay?"
"Only time will tell now," Drago shrugged. "There's a lot being thrown at us this time. It's best that we don't talk about them right now."
"I understand. Just let me know what I can help with. I'd rather not leave you two to carry the burden all by yourselves when I can do some things. Hope you sleep well." Kendrick closed the door on his way out.
He walked back to his room and laid back on his bed. "I have to say... It's about time he's breaking up with Petra. She's too much for him anyway," Kendrick was thinking. "...She was really hot though..."

Post by Markus Hederick on Jul 3, 2019 19:38:28 GMT -5
A couple of days later...
There was an unknown location that featured a bar-like setting. The lighting was a little bit dim, but it was clear enough to where people could see each other. Jazz music was playing in the background, and people were generally having a good time with drinks and whatnot.
In a corner of the bar, there was a human being that rose from the ground through a shadow. This was Markus. The people in the bar paid no mind to his sudden appearance except for one person. Markus would see this person out of the corner of his eye. It looked like...Daniel Andersen...
Markus waved to him, and the individual gave him a nod back. Markus walked to a table and set a briefcase down. He sat there and waited for a certain person to come on over. There was a lady in the midst of the crowd that came on over and sat down across from him.
"Greetings, Mr. Hederick," she greeted.
"Good morning. Hope you've been well," Markus greeted back. "I have some things to confirm."
"Go on," she allowed.
"Serial killers Makoto Nakashima and Ahrangi are dead. Found them concocting a plan to murder several members across all levels of government. They had hoped to derail the U.S. government so they could intimidate them into doing what he wanted."
"What did he want?"
"For us to die and give 'them' back their land."
"So he's a Native American?"
"I found that to be the case. At least now his link with Deon makes a lot more sense. It also explains why Makoto hated the Spartan as much as he did. Deon sorta gave up and fled the planet while Makoto stayed to fight. I can see what he was trying to do, but not at the expense of our friends and family who had nothing to do with this. He had to die."
"And he did. Excellent work.
"The other contracts are...very sensitive. I will only turn them in on one condition."
"Hmmm..."
"I'm aware that Victoria has worked with the Grim Reapers before. I need you to-"
"You know that we can't talk about other assassins as long as they are on the payroll of the Silver Knights?'
"Unless they're doing something illegal, correct?"
"Correct."
"Okay then. So, I have four questions that can help determine that. Is there a contract on Noland Hardy?"
"No."
"Is there a warning label or higher on Noland Hardy?"
"No."
"IS there a warning label or contract on Petra Colburn?"
"No."
"Did an Admiral give an order for anyone to stalk Noland Hardy and/or Petra Colburn and record sensitive information about them?"
"..." The lady froze for a bit, because for any of that to happen, an approval had to be granted by the Grim Reapers. That was the system of checks and balances within the Silver Knights. If no one came to them about it, then what has happened in this whole Noland and Petra situation is illegal.
"...I guess I can talk now."
"Could you tell me what's going on, please?"

The lady presented a book, one that had an old look to it. The covering was starting to show some wear and tear like it was centuries old.
"..." Markus was speechless at this, but the lady winked at him when sliding the book to him.
"So that's it, huh? Just a diversion?" Markus disgustingly questioned on purpose.
"I'm afraid that's all I can do for you, Mr. Hederick," she lied.
"...Alright then." Markus touched her hand so Gargulion could link her with his soul, allowing her to see the encounter between himself and Makoto so the kill could be confirmed. Once she saw enough to be satisfied, she spoke up about the act.
"The same thing with the old Dr. Kyuki? Keeping him inside a hollow shell for your own insidious purposes?" the lady wondered.
"He will serve his purpose for me later on," Markus insisted. "Anyway, I should be off now. Are there any questions for me?"
"You do realize that I will be forced to report you to the big boys and girls upstairs for this investigation of yours? You will incur a warning label yourself." This was a precautionary method in case there was anything that could come out of this alleged wrongdoing that he is insinuating Victoria is guilty of.
"So will Victoria and the Angels, or maybe not if what I think is happening IS happening," Markus passed off. "I can be labeled whatever. It won't change what I'm going to do."
"Very well then," she accepted. "That is all then."
"Have a good one," Markus bowed out. Before he got up, he heard a whisper from the lady.
"They might think you're a threat, but at the end, you're always a hero," she expressed to him.

Unbeknownst to Tank, Markus was heading directly to him. Tank was getting ready to meet with his team, Washington Legion, for information regarding the upcoming season. Houston Keene of the BBBA was supposed to be a guest, so it was extremely important.
It wasn't for another hour and a half, so Tank was hanging around the kitchen trying to make himself some breakfast. That's when he got a surprise visitor...
"You usually call ahead whenever you trespass on my team's property," Tank noted. "What happened and who do I have to beat up for you?"

Markus scoffed at the assumption that he needed someone else to rough up his enemies. Typical Tank.
"...Probably some high-ranking Silver Knights and a few Admirals," Markus played along anyway. He laid out the book he was given on the counter.
"I need you to read this right now," Markus requested. "The clerk at the Grim Reaper's hideout has been very trustworthy so far, so I don't doubt that - according to her - whatever's in here connects to the Noland and Petra situation. I just need to verify ALL of its contents before the Seven Angels do something else."

For some weird reason, Tank was getting excited by the possibility that whatever was in this book was enough to piss some people off. That made him want to read it just to see what all the fuss was about.
"Ah, so you finally see that Tank Stryker can learn things faster than Tracy?" Tank asked just to hype up the fact that it was his help that was needed.
"Temporarily," Gladion added in.
"Buzzkill," Tank coughed. "Let me see that."
Tank reached over to grab the book. It felt very peculiar. It had that centuries old feel to it. He was almost afraid that he'd destroy the book if he handled it carelessly.
"I never thought I'd be into these books that you and Tracy like to read, but if it's going to help Hardy get out of that shitty mess, then I'll bite," Tank accepted. "Gladion, could you?"
Gladion - who was in his robed form - took the book out of Tank's hands and proceeded to go elsewhere with it. "You got a whiteboard around here?" he wondered.
"Check the coach's office," Tank suggested.
"Okay. Be right back," Gladion responded.
"Markus, while you're here, you mind helping me out with this meeting with the BBBA?" Tank suddenly requested. "They're talking about some changes they're trying to make. I figure you'd want to be apart of that too considering there's a lot that needs to be changed with your team."

"Mr. Keene's a very stubborn man when it comes to 'surprise drafts'. I doubt I could convince him to help your team find some talent," Markus clapped back.
"Ah...I missed this..." Gargulion reminisced while Tank and Markus bickered over who was better for the millionth time.
After about fifteen minutes, Gladion came back with a whiteboard and Athena's Owl. While Gladion would get things ready, Markus suddenly remembered something important.
"Oh, so...you'll probably have eyes on you from the Knights now that you have that book... Thought you should know..." Markus notified Tank before trailing off. He knew he was gonna be in trouble.

"With all of this bullshit stuff going on, they can kiss my ass for all I care," Tank plainly stated. "How'd it go, Gladion?"
"Well...a mix of what you'd expect and not expect," Gladion generalized. "The book is missing A LOT of pages, so I'm not entirely sure of how it'll affect the context of what I saw. Still, there's enough to get some information as to why these fuckers can't mind their business."
"Just in time for breakfast too. Let's see it!" Tank excitedly said.

Gladion had the owl transmit all of the information that was learned from the book so he could write it on the whiteboard. He took a sharpie in hand and was about to write, but he suddenly turned completely around and got in a fighting stance. Gargulion also materialized a blade and pointed it in the same direction that Gladion was looking in.
What they saw was a mysterious figure that appeared to them as a wraith.
"All who receive knowledge of our existence MUST join us..." the individual stated in rasp-sounding voice.
"Who's 'us'?" Gargulion wondered.
"Members of a forgotten path lost in history," the individual vaguely represented. "Those who understand the suffering that courses through existence... Those who carry the weight of their pain on their shoulders... Those who know who the true God is...and how His salvation can make you pure..."

Markus was very baffled by the threatened postures on both Gargulion and Gladion. Markus couldn't see or hear a single thing coming from the person. He looked at Tank with a confused expression, and - judging by what he looked like - it seems that neither of them could see or hear it. Only Gargulion and Gladion could...
"None of you can see or hear it..." Gladion felt.
"Tank surely would've said something by now," Gargulion figured.
"Whatever it wants, it's a no," Markus decided.

"Not an acceptable answer..." the individual remarked. "To possess or even know about any object with information about us must only be accessible to our followers... You MUST become one of us...""Yeah, yeah. We heard you the first time. NO!" Gladion shouted. "I will plead with you one more time to join us, as the information you now have is unfit for the mortal eye," the figure expressed. "You're obviously hard of hearing. Perhaps you'll understand it better when it gets shoved down your throat," Gargulion violently threatened. "So you've rejected all three offerings of service..." the individual noted. "Seems you're not so stupid after all," Gladion remarked. "Then... You all...and anyone in the immediate vicinity who could get their hands on it...must die..." the individual decreed.
