After throwing the bomb and driving a rod of ice through Natalie's gut, Khaos walked over to Gray and slammed his foot into his back, pinning him to the ground. "Face it Gray..." Khaos' mask fell off and broke in half upon hitting the ground, turning him back into Jack. "You couldn't beaat me when we were younger and you can't beat me now!" Jack pressed his foot against Gray's back even more, chipping a vertebrae. He then walked away and sat on the ground, creating a field of mines, a walls of electrified ice and fire. A dark power came out of the beacons and slowly flowed into Jack. Jack had left a note beside Gray. The note read: "When I fully absorb Khaos, I will be motionless for a few seconds, in that time........you must remove my head. It's the only way to prevent Khaos from ever being revived again."

Gray staggered to his feet, Jack is still on our side, he wants me to cut off his head, there has to be a better way. Gray thought back to all of the fights they had as sparring partners, farther, when they first became friends, farther, when they first met, farther, when they first fought. "Natalie, I know you're a bit weak now, but please, give me all of the power you can muster, Rip, do the same," They hit Gray with their strongest attacks, and he went through the cycle again, He didn't need to gain control, he needed to get into Jack's Psyche, his subconscious. It was too late, He had the positive reaction zero, Gray latched onto Jack, their bodies collapsed. They were in Jack's mind.
"I AM FAR STRONGER THAN ANY OF YOU CAN EVER HOPE TO BE," Khaos bellowed, We were all in Jack's mind, so we all had the Positive Reaction Zero, and all of the Branches, the Tree of Khaos. Seeing that Khaos had every Branch in creation. Jack was back to normal, "Jack, if we can take out Khaos, then you might be able to live." Jack understood, then he shot him a glare that translated to If this doesn't fork out, we're going with my plan, hesitate and I'll kill you. Gray chuckled and lunged in, Jack did the same.

As Jack and Gray lunged, Jack accessed the 4 Branches of the Elements (Fire, Water, Earth and Wind) to create a sword. He spun around to one side of Khaos and prepared to slash. All of a sudden, he was surrounded by twenty clones of Khaos. "WHAT THE WHAT?!" Jack's sword disappeared and all the Khaos clones dogpiled on him, trapping him by using his father's Branch to overpower him. Jack wondered how the fight was going for Gray....

Just out of ear shot, Jack heard Gray yell. "DEMON SHOCK WAVE" He leapt into the air and smashed his fist into the ground when the dust settled, he had only disposed of 5 of twenty clones. His best chance of winning was if he fought together with Jack, he glanced over and saw a huge energy burst, no Plasma, do away with half of the Khaos army. "THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT" a voice yelled closer to Gray, a man swooshed in and smashed his fist to the ground, jarring about the entire Khaos army. Gray noticed who they were now. "Mr. Nealson?"
Gray was astonished, he and Jack should be the only ones in his mind, with the exception of Khaos. "Who else but, Go help Jack, I got this.."

Jack grinned as he saw the rest of the Khaos clones stumble, he did a sweeping kick of Lightning and finished off the last of the clones. "Hey Dad! Forgot your s--" Jack was cut off as the true Kaos roundhouse kicked Jack's chest, sending him flying. "HOOOOLLLLLLLLYYYYYYYY S--" Jack slammed into the wall of his mind and the wind was knocked out of him. JAck fell to the ground and could't move. Jack's dad charged at Khaos and slammed his fist into his gut. "GET AWAY FROM MY SON!!!!" Khaos went flying into the air.

Khaos was targeting the weakest links for a reason, to keep the stronger ones off guard, Jacks parents were always distracted with protecting Gray and Jack. Gray was nearly unconscious, in the ral world color was leaving his body. The transmutation circle was working full blast. Natalie had recovered from the Icicle through her stomach, but barely. She struggled to Gray's side, "Gray, I know you might not be able to hear this but..."
In Jack's mind, The four were struggling to hold their own against Khaos. They had been jarred about many times. Barely making any progress.
"Gray, I love you." She interlaced her fingers with his, lies down on the ground next to him, and finally, she leaned over and kissed him.
"Jack, you remember that combo move we made a while back, lets try it."

Jack looked at Gray. "We've only pulled that off once! No.....I have a better idea. REMEMBER THE PLAN!!!" Jack turned to Gray and launched him, sending him out of his mind. Jack ran over to Khaos and thrust his hand into his chest, grabbing his heart. Since Jack WAS Khaos, Khaos had done the same. Jack grinned and pulled his hand out of Khaos' chest, taking his heart. Khaos mirrored Jack the whole time. Jack returned to the real world, but was still fighting Khaos for control of his body. "NOW GRAY!!!!"

Gray hesitated, but Rick didn't. "Mr. Nealson, how could..." Jack's father's eyes were swelling, "I had no choice, his soul shall live on, as it once was... Innocent." Tears streaked down Gray's face, "It just isn't fair," Rick placed a hand on Gray's shoulder, "Sonmetimes, life isn't fair, you have to play the hand you're dealt."

As the group stood around Jack's motionless body, a ball of light floated out of it and took the shape of Jack. Jack looked just as he had without the mask of Khaos on, but his clothes were white. "Gray.....Thank you. Khaos had plagued me for all my life. Hanging around you was the only thing that really kept him in check. After everything that has happened, I'm glad to know that my best friend....heck, my only friend...you, had my back the whole time." Jack put a hand on Gray's other shoulder. "Gray, when we were younger, we both liked that girl Aribelle. Remember her? We used to fight over which of us she liked more." Jack laughed. "When we finally asked us, she told us to have a little sparring match for her. Naturally, we complied. I took it far though. One of your paradoxes reflected my large attack, but it sent it straight at her. She's waiting on the other side Gray.......even though it was my fault she died, she doesn't blame me and still loves me. But you don't need her anymore. You have a Natalie." Jack turned to Natalie. "Natalie, I apologize for nearly killing you and Gray." Jack walked away and, in a brilliant flash, disappeared.

"Gray, who is this 'Aribelle'?!" Natalie was furious. "Just a distant memory, it's sad really, the first and last person I ever killed... will kill." IN THE NEAR FUTURE Natalie clutched Gray's hand, breathing heavily, as she gave birth to their first child. Finally, his full body was exposed, after a few minutes, the doctor handed a clean baby to Natalie, it was a boy. "So what shall you name him?" The doctor asked. Gray looked to the sky and said "Jack... Jack Adison." He winked and turned back to his son. "Dead or not, Jack will always be your God Father. I promise you, he will visit you in your dreams, and protect you as your guardian angel. I... we... we all miss you Jack, you will always be my best man, God Speed and Good Fortune to your spirit bro. I'm here, and I know you're watching. Good Bye." THE END |
