Season 4, Ep 4: Clash of the Captains

As the first round of the Final Sixteen continues, brawling fans all over are excited as this televised event hosts one of the most anticipated brawls of the tournament. The battle between the team captains of two top-tier brawling teams. On one side, the hot-headed wonder boy and team leader of the Krakkens, Bryce Witherson and his bakugan, Aquos Terrokoi, the powerful fish bakugan. On the other side, the calm, collected and down-right mysterious Scarecrow of the Sky Reavers and his bakugan, the magma monster Pyrus Zerevix. It's the cocky kid from the Krakkens, or the mask-wearing freak of the Sky Reavers. Who will win?

Scarecrow walked down the hallway for his match. In tow, his pyrus bakugan Zerevix. Zerevix began to get annoyed with the silence. " Crow!" he shouted to Scarecrows head. It was impossible to really tell where his ears were. The pyrus bakugan was used to his brawlers silence, but it was still downright creepy to him.

Scarecrow turned to Zerevix. " I was bringing back up all of the data on our opponent. Bryce Witherson, and a "powerful" aquos brawler. Personally I believe it's all hype." the leader of Sky reavers said. His tone was cold and calm. It was like nothing could get emotion out of him. This, of course, usually creeped the opponent out. Wether this one was different or not has yet to be seen." but his bakugan, Terrokoi, is a fish that isn't something I can bat my eyelashes at." he saw that they were close to the battlefield itself. He activated the contact display system. A voice chimed in. contact display system activated. Brawl ready for beginning.

He then drew a 12 in the sand." the clock strikes twelve on this Cinderella preformence." he then oppens the database and clicks on a card." gate card set." he picks up the bakugan and tosses it onto the field." bakugan brawl. Stand Zerevix." at the command, the pyrus bakugan ball opened up. A pillar of magma erupts and takes the shape of Zerevix.

" oh yeah! now it's over!" he said to whoever was listening.

Bryce stood on his pedestal, his bakugan in hand. He moved the hair out of his eyes, and started to laugh.

"BWAHAHA!" Bryce wailed, "YOU'RE the opponent I have to face? Where'd you come from, Comic-Con? Seriously, with that get up, you look like a freaking coma patient who fell into a vat of acid!"

"His bakugan doesn't look to bright, either," Terrokoi said as he floated next to Bryce, "Maybe that's why you two are paired up!"

"I can't even tell where this guy's freaking EARS are!" Bryce continued, before he grabbed Terrokoi, and loaded him into his launcher. Bryce held up his right arm.

"You know what this is, loser?" Bryce said, "THIS is the Baku-Launch 2109. It is the LATEST in brawling accessories. Why do I have this, you may be thinking?"

Bryce leaned into his Contact Display System camera.

"It's because my dad owns the largest chain of brawling stores in the WORLD. Now, you get to see first hand why I have so many State Brawling Championship patches on my Letterman Jacket! Bakugan Brawl!"

Bryce whipped his arm as his bakugan was launched into the arena. The bakugan ricocheted off Zerevix' head, knocking him onto his back. Terrokoi hit the ground, and stood. The massive humanoid-fish bakugan rose in blue light, and whipped his arms down to his side, unsheathing his razor sharp fins.

"Don't get distracted by my intricate markings," Terrokoi said, "It might be the last thing you'll see."

The Contact Display System's voice burst through the roaring crowd's cheers and applause for Bryce and Terrokoi.

"Terrokoi has entered the battlefield at 800 G."

[Scarecrow]

Scarecrow just looked into the eyes of Bryce. What he saw made him chuckle." I can see you truly think beating me is going to happen. Not at all you pampered little daddy's boy." He said to his opponent, still keeping the same tone. He then looked up at zerevix. He tapped a ability card on the CDS." It's true he might not be able to outsmart you. But my Zerevix has never needed smarts to break bakugan before. Go ability Lix hunter." At the command, Zerevix charged a ball of red energy. When it looks to be large enough, he fired it up into the sky. The ball began to fire bolts of energy at his opponent.

Zerevix pointed up at the ball." How do you like my Lix hunter ability? If those bolts hit, you will be feeling the pain fishstick." Zerevix said tauntingly. He had no real fear of this bakugan

Lix hunter: send the opponents bakugan back and they can't send in one with the same base name, transfer 400g

"Daddy's boy?" Bryce said chuckling, "What about you? You look like someone whose parents put a frog in a blender, then gave it to their kid to wear." Bryce began touching his blue ring, and finally called out, "Evo-Gear, engage! Aquos Strikefin!"

Terrokoi's arms began growing sharp, pointed fins on them, and a pale blue light began to engulf Terrokoi's body. The blue light spread to the red ball. The red ball glowed for a second, then disappeared in a flash of light. The blue light then took control over Zerevix, and flashed him out of the battle. Pyrus Fourtress stood in Zerevix' place. Terrokoi then launched himself at Fourtress, ready to hit him hard.

"You really believe you have the upper hand in this, don't you?" Bryce goaded, "I mean look at you! You're trying to get rid of my bakugan with an ability card! My support weapon allows me to mess with your play style! Good luck fighting with Fourtress, especially if its at 100 G!"

Aquos Strikefin introduced into battle at 400 G.

Lix Hunter effects negated by Aquos Strikefin; opponents Zerevix switched with Pyrus Fourtress ath 100 G due to effects of Aquos Strikefin.

Scarecrow waited for terrakoi to come in close. He had this weakling in the bag." You are a pampered little delusional brat. I think it's time I show you real power. Gate card open! Gingery firestorm" Scarecrow shouts as the floor begins to glow. The ground begins to emit fireballs. Fortress is switched back in with Zerevix. The pyrus bakugan is back on the field and fired up. Scarecrow then holds up his left hand. " This gate allows for me to negate your puny effects, as well as adapts its secondary from another card. ill choose my inferno red hierloom card. Now have fun without ability cards." a red energy ball charges in the air and rushes at terrakoi. scarecrow holds up his left hand.The ring found on it begins to glow." Evogear. Enhance." Zerevix then grows all of the metallic peaches attributed to his evogear Shatter hezig. The piston attached to his arms began to release smoke. Lix hunter also reactivated by the return of Zerevix to the battle.

" this is my evogear, Shatter hezig. It makes me physically much stronger than your little fishstick." Zerevix boasted. He then goes to punch at Terrakoi as a fireball from the gate goes after him too.

Gingrey firestorm: negate the opponents effects, use a effect from your bakupack ( excluding looping)

Inferno red heirloom 2nd effect: stop the opponent from playing normal abilities

Bryce laughed. "Oh no!" he cried out in mock fear, "Somebody call Batman because this Scarecrow is out of control. Hah! You think a few bolts of fire and puny flame ball is gonna knock us out? Think again!"

"It's time." He continued, "It's time that I introduce you to another one of my incredible pieces of equipment. This is the CDS system XY-37," He pointed at his eyes, gesturing to his contacts. These babies allow me to see every intricate detail of the battle field. The let me see the angle, trajectory, and force of my opponent's attacks. It's like I know what you are going to do before you do it. Try beating that freak show!"

His eyes flashed blue as he activated his next attack, "Ability Activate! Frenzy Shedder!"

"Booyah!" Terrokoi shouted as his fins and claws started to glow with a blue light. They grew longer as he awaited the onslaught of raining bolts from Zerevix's Lix Hunter ability. He quickly moved his arms with lighting speed, slashing and hacking at the bolts.

Once he deflected all of the energy bolts, he turned his attention to the incoming ball of fire. The Aquos bakugan used his feet to launch himself towards the attack, destroying the move with a single slash.

Terrokoi then pointed at his foe as he said, "I'm coming for you next ugly! Say hello to Fourtress for me!"

The fish-like bakugan rushed at his opponent and came out him with a barrage of various slashes and scratches. The attack was so fast that if it hit, it would be almost impossible for the victim to break free of the barrage.

Because of Frenzy Shredder, all of Zerevixs' effects are negated, 400G will be transferred from Zerevix to Terrokoi each turn and Zerevix may not use normal abilities.

Scarecrow sat down and laughed. This wasn't a simple chuckle, no. This was a full blown ecstatic laughter." A foolish ploy for a appetizer of a bakugan." He shouted to the boy. He was tired of a pampered little freakin joke of a brawler. Smoke appeared on the battle scene as terrakoi had ran at Zerevix. Scarecrow then stood up." If you aren't going to fight like a real man, get out of my field."

Zerevix then unleashed a roar, frieghtening all who were listening or watching. Zerevix then pointed at Terrakoi." Have fun with my gate card again." He had a smile that had a esscence of doom behind it. The fireballs started back up, with the same intensity as before. This time, two fireballs were looking to preform a pincer attack.

"Kyaaahh!" Terrokoi shouted as he charged at the magma monster. The blades on his arms glowed blue as he leaped into the air and prepared to slice his foe from a powerful downwards angle. As the Aquos bakugan descended, Bryce noticed that his opponent was unflinching while its brawler was laughing.

What the heck? The Krakkens captain was confused. He then saw it, two massive fireballs heading towards Terrokoi with a pincer attack. "Oh, crap!" Bryce shouted out loud. "Terrokoi! Get out of there!" But it was too late as the attack found it's mark. The two fireballs crashed into the fish-like bakugan. The bakugan crashed into the ground with a thud and a grunt. He then returned to ball form as he bounced into Bryce's hand.

Bryce looked down at the floor. How could he have been beaten? Granted, it was only for a round, but this was ridiculous. He glared at the masked brawler. "That's it! Gate Card Set! Bakugan Brawl! Rise Aquos Terrokoi!"

I lost. New round.

Scarecrow grabbed his bakugans ball as it moved at him." I see I got you there. Nothing for you to do now." Scarecrow said, returning to his normal, calm self. Heineken the round, now time to finish this. He threw the bakugan ball onto his opponents gate card." Bakugan brawl. Let the magma flow through your veins." As the brawler said that, Zerevix stood. Once again taking shape from the magma that was released on his summon." Stand Zerevix." The masked man finished. Zerevix let out another roar, indicating his resolve to end this.

" it's over for you crab legs." The magma monster goated on his first round victory. He then glanced at Bryce." Try to entertain me little kid."

Bryce clenched his fists. "If that's how you wanna play it, freak. I'm not gonna go easy on ya this time." His eyes flashed as he held up his left hand. Once again, his ring glowed blue as he shouted, "Evo-Gear, engage! Aquos Strikefin!" The Evo-Gear attached itself to Terrokoi as his fins grew larger and sharper.

"Alright! Let's try this one more time. Hit me with something Bryce!" The Aquos bakugan shouted at his partner.

Bryce nodded. "Okay freak, time to see the technique that one me last year's Eastern Region Brawling Championship." He gestured as he shouted. "Terrokoi! Let's show this punk how it's done! Attack!"

Terrokoi shouted as he charged at Zerevix. He took off with uncanny speed as he raised his fins at him and tried to slash the Pyrus bakugan.

"That's not hitting me with something, Bryce." Terrokoi said as he slashed at Zerevix.

Scarecrow held up the same hand as last time. Likewise, the ring began to glow a red color." Evo gear enhance." Scarecrow said calmly as the glow surrounded Zerevix. Once dissisipated, Zerevix was partially metallic, boasting the same properties as before." Shatter hezig. Crush 'em Zerevix." He commanded of his partner. The manga beast blocked the slashes of terrakoi, then threw a right cross for the fishes face. If this lands, zerevix's increased strength would slam terrakoi, sending him flying." Try to our power him, and you lose. Try to out speed him, and he makes it a power fight. This is my bakugan... No my partner Zerevix." Scarecrow said when the punch was thrown.

As the punch came towards its mark. Terrokoi lifted both of his hands and caught the wild attack with both hands. The bakugan started to push against the fist with all of his might as he struggled to win in this battle of power. "Grr...I won't be defeated...this...easily!"

Bryce nodded. He knew that this opponent had some skill, but the only way to break him would be beating him at what he did best. If he could trump his opponent in his home turf, he would break Scarecrow's footing. As an added bonus, he would make that freak look like a wuss.

"Alright, Terrokoi! Don't let this punk bring you down!" He pointed a finger at Scarecrow. "Now listen here, Straw Boy! Heh....Straw Boy...that was kind of clever," He shook his head, "Not the point. Anyways, you better realize that underestimating me is the last mistake you will make in this tourney. Although we are great at speed, Terrokoi and don't lack in power in the slightest! Ain't that right?"

"You...bet!" Terrokoi grunted as he stepped forward, pressing his body weight upwards into Zerevix, hoping to use his low center of gravity to his advantage.

Scarecrow simply nodded at his partner, giving his aproval of the magma beasts next move. Zerevix simply grabbed Terrakoi, and squeezed him in a large bear hug. Scarecrow then looked at Bryce." Did I not already tell you. Power is Zerevix's game. You won't win at it." The pyrus brawler remarked about his opponents remarkably idiotic move. Whatever he was planning, Bryce would have to do it quick. Which was all part of scarecrow's plan." Honestly, if you aren't going to present a challenge then get out of my way. I have real brawls to commence with, something you wouldn't know about." He mocked to the final 16 brawler. Scarecrow knew he would get angry and slip up. That was the key to finishing this quickly. And of course, that was the goal.

"Oh really?" Bryce questioned. "I think you need a reality check! I didn't get here out of luck, I had to beat close to a hundred brawlers in the preliminaries, just like you, to get here." He pointed at his opponent, again. "I'm not a pushover, so don't treat me like one."

His eyes flashed blue. "Ability Activate! Deep Blue!" Bryce shouted.

Terrokoi's intricate markings glowed blue as he slipped his arms out of the bear-hug. His claws started to glow as well as he pulled back his arms and dug them into Zerevix's side. The intention of the attack was to drain away the power of the opponent.

Deep Blue doubles Terrokoi's G-Power. It also reduce's Zerevix's G-Power to 0G and transfers 400G between the two bakugan.

"Now you see!" Bryce taunted, "This is the fighting style of the Krakkens!"
