Twelve brawlers have been eliminated, and only four fighters remain: Kaden Miles, Valentina Grudge, Jason Cross, and Scarecrow. With the next two battles and the next Showcase Brawl in tow, the tournament designers decided to suddenly change the rules by making next Showcase Brawl be a part of the Semi-Finals. In this brawl, it would be a two-on-two battle, with the winners moving on to the Finals. The teams would be chosen by drawing one brawler's name out of a hat and letting them choose their partner. Valentina's name was drawn out of the hat, letting her choose her partner. With the obvious choice at hand, Valentina chose Kaden Miles, leaving Jason and Scarecrow together as partners. Can the two heated rivals get over their differences and win the brawl? Or will the Shadow Storm members use their familiarity and teamwork to sweep their opponents?
Jason walked out of the elevator, frustrated about his current situation, out of all brawlers, he had to team up with Scarecrow, the one brawler that he couldn't stand. It had been this way ever since he entered the circuit. The two of them had clashed constantly in the league with seemingly equal strength, but Scarecrow was always one step ahead of Jason in every way. It didn't make sense. What made less sense was the mask. Why did he even wear that thing? It didn't make him look mysterious, it made him look like an arrogant jerk.
He turned around to his partner and was about to say something before he was interrupted by Spikore, "Jason, don't say anything stupid. He may be a jerk, but right now, that jerk is our partner. So treat him with respect or we won't be able to beat these guys. Remember, they are a team and we aren't. They have a major advantage. Okay?"
Jason nodded, "Fine," He muttered turning back to Scarecrow. "Hey, Scarecrow." He tried not to glare at his "partner", but it was hard not to. He gulped, trying to separate what he was going to say and what he wanted to say in his mind. "It looks like we're stuck together, but you and I both know that we can take these two down with no problem. We are the best, regardless of who's better. We will settle that later. So what do you say?" He smiled, trying to be a good sport about this.
After Scarecrow's response, he turned to face Kaden and Valentina. He scanned both until locking eyes with Kaden. He wasn't sure what it was, but he didn't like that guy. There was something about him that made Jason uneasy. "I hear that you two each beat one of my partners. Impressive." His eyes narrowed as his tone turned serious. He knew that he would have to be completely focused if he wanted to win. "However, I'm not at the same level as my partners. I won't be as easy to defeat as Gin and Justin, so be prepared."
His eyes flashed as he shouted. "Setting Gate!" The ground pulsed with a golden brown light, indicating the activation of the gate. With a focused determination he threw Spikore onto the field. "Gate Card Set! Bakugan Brawl! Stand Subterra Spikore!" Spikore appeared in a cyclone of sand and dust. "Alright!" Spikore shouted. "Let's rock this!"
(Spikore entered the field at 800G.)

   Valentina stepped onto the battlefield with a newfound air of confidence. As she eyed her opponents, she came to the conclusion that not only could she defeat them by herself, there was also not a chance in the world for those two now that she was teamed up with Master Kaden. Even though Master Kaden could most likely take these two fools on his own, he had decided to let her fight as well. He could have easily told her not to fight and she would gladly sit out, but he didn't, so that had to mean that he wanted her to fight, right?
She raised a curious eyebrow during Jason's speech. So this was the leader of Justin Airfield's team, the Nova Brawlers. Interesting. If Jason Cross was as great a brawlers as he claimed, then this might be a problem, not to mention the number one contender for the Championship was partner. On the other hand, theses two were bitter rivals, so it would definitely give the upper hand to her and Kaden. She let out a sigh of relief, she had nothing to worry about.
"Is that so?" The Russian brawler responded to Jason's comment. "Well, I don't care what level you are at. You don't stand a chance against Kaden and I. It's just not possible. Now prepare yourself boys. You are about to get blown away by a powerful natural known as Shadow Storm. Don't hold anything back, and don't let your guard down. I want to win knowing that you two are pathetic weaklings." She motioned with her finger for them to come and get her, "So come on, boys. Let's see what you have to offer."
She took the rugged brown ball in her hand and threw it gracefully onto the battlefield. 'Bakugan Brawl!" She shouted, "Stand, Subterra Terrakinox!" The massive golem rose. He banged his enormous fists together as he roared. Valentina smiled. This brawl would be a walk in the park.(Terrakinox entered the field at 800G.) Scarecrow furiously stepped out onto the battlefield. He was not happy about this situation, not happy at all. He had been greatly looking forward to brawling and defeating Jason Cross of the Nova Bralwers in the Semi-Finals. However, his plans were being ruined by some stupid showcase brawl. Who even came up with this crazy idea? Scarecrow hoped that he would one day find the "genius" behind this idea so that he could pummel him and tell him how ridiculous he was. Frustrated about his situation, he let out a heavy sigh.
"Crow?" Zerevix popped open on Scarecrow's shoulder, concerned about the state of his friend and partner, "You gonna be alright. You seem a little down and out. Is there anything you would like to talk about?" Scarecrow shook his head, "I'm just pissed off about this brawl. I should be fighting Jason now, not working with him to take on two members of a well established team. Besides, I'm not working with Jason, he's annoying enough as an opponent. I certainly don't need him about a partner." The magma beast laughed. "You know," For someone who says they don't have anything to talk about, you sure said a lot."
"Your point?" Scarecrow asked. "Look," Zerevix spoke slowly in order to get his point across. "You want to fight Jason right? Well you still can. If you and he win this fight, you two will take each other on in the finals. So what you need to do is settle your differences with Jason for this one brawl. If you can do that, you guys are sure to win. These two losers won't stand a chance." Scarecrow nodded, "Good point." He listened intently to Jason as the Subterra Brawler spoke his words of truce. The masked brawler nodded in response, "I say that you are right. We need to be partners, just this once." He then turned to look at Kaden and Valentina, "Yup, it's just like Jason said, you two best prepare yourselves."
With a mighty throw, he launched the red bakugan ball in his hand onto the field. "Bakugan Brawl!" He shouted with a fierce intensity, he wasn't going to lose this match. It was his to win, "Rise, Pyrus Zerevix!" Magma bubbled from the surface of the arena where the ball landed as Zerevix rose from the ground. He roared and shouted, "Now who is ready for some pain!"

Kaden stepped out onto the battlefield with a grim look on his face, as always. He took a quick glance at his opponents and noticed that those two are on completely different teams. He couldn't help but smile after realizing this. The tension between them will surely be detrimental to their performance from his point of view. He didn't mind Valentina joining him in embarrassing two top ranked brawlers. After all, they never got the chance to pay Jason back for defeating Makuto, who he thought would be more than capable of dealing with certain individuals since his reputation said so, or so he thought.
He heard his opponents speak, but didn't particular care for it. Although he knew his opponents may pack some power, Valentina and him both knew they were better than the Nova Brawler and Sky Reaver. As it was customary for his battles, the time for talk is over. Now it was time for his actions to show them true terror.
"You two are fools if you think you can resist us." Kaden said with confidence. "Bakugan brawl! Dhradakor stand!"
Dhradakor appeared on the field with lightning bolts making his appearance even more stunning.
Dhradakor stood with 800G Power.

"Yeah..." Jason responded hesitantly to Scarecrow's remark, "We're partners...Right." He shook his head. Partners with a freak like scarecrow was the last thing on earth that he wanted to be. He would rather take these two Shadow Storm punks on his own then take on the challenge of being teammates with the masked Pyrus brawler. It just didn't feel right. Scarecrow and he had been rivals since the beginning of his WC career. He never even understood why he hated the guy, but they were bitter rivals to the end. Even though he was stuck being on this guy's team, it didn't mean that they necessarily had to work together. He could just knock this out of the ballpark with the freak on the sidelines, at least, he was pretty sure that he could.
He smirked at Kaden's comment. "Oh really? Well, let's see if you can back up that big talk of yours. Intimidation won't work against me, action will. You ready Spikore?" He turned to his partner who looked ready to get this battle on the road. The dragon bakugan turned his head slightly so he could see Jason out of his peripherals. "You bet! Let's give 'em the old one-two!"
Jason nodded, "Here we go buddy! Gate Card Open!" He shouted as his eyes flashed, indicating the activation of a card. "Perilous Sands!" He smiled as his signature Gate Card was activated. The sun glared over the arena as sand covered the floor. Suddenly, geysers of burning, hot sand shot out from the ground, hoping to catch anything that was too slow or unable to tolerate its conditions. Spikore, however, flew gracefully through the geysers, unaffected by their pressure or temperature.
"Ability Activate!" Jason continued as his eyes flashed golden brown once more, "Vicious Arsenal!" "Aw yeah!" Spikore shouted, anticipating the outcome of this ability. "Give me some weapons!" Jason nodded in response to his partner. "Okay! Support Weapons, Launch! Let's go, Flash Razor and Soul Shield." Suddenly, two glowing orbs appeared in Spikore's hands. The two orbs transformed into weapons simultaneously. One was a gleaming sword, the other, a sturdy shield. Spikore let out a battle cry as he charged after the two Shadow Storm bakugan.
(Perilous Sands: Change enemy bakugan description to "This bakugan may only use the cards of "____". "_____" being whatever bakugan that the user of this card owns. Double the user's effects and G-Power. I choose Subterra Gargylon.
Vicious Arsenal: User may turn one card in their bakupack into a SW. User may throw out 2 SW. Transfer 200G per SW in play or take control of the gate card. My effects are doubled so I turn Flash Razor and Soul Shield into SWs and throw them out at 0G as well as Meta Mace and Gaia Gauntlet out at 400G each. I transfer 400G per SW in play so I get 1600G
I activate Soul Shield's effect. User is protected from all enemy effects. Double user's G-Power and reduce enemy G-Power to 0G. I'll quadruple my G-Power.)

Valentina scowled at Jason. How dare he make such a snarky comment at Master Kaden. Did this punk even understand the kind of power that he was dealing with? Did he even watch the match between him and the other Nova Brawler? And what was this crap about big talk? Kaden didn't need to back up his talk, he could beat Jason and his masked partner without Valentina's help, and without trying. She moved a strand of loose hair away from her face as she opened her mouth, ready to give the leader of the Nova Brawlers a piece of her mind.
"Well, well, well." She did her best to hind the fury in her voice, "Somebody is a little confident. Do you really think that you have what it takes to defeat Master Kaden with such a pathetic strategy? Ha! Give up now and I'll spare you the embarrassment." Her eyes flashed as she prepared to activate an ability. "In fact," she said with the fury slowly growing in her Russian accent, "I won't even give you the chance to be given the honor of being defeated by Master Kaden. I'll take you down myself! Ability Activate! Sinkhole Fissure!"
Terrakinox roared and banged his fists together as a magic circle appeared beneath Spikore. The circle released a gravitational force that sucked the sand geysers in, keeping the attacks directed to that one central location. To make things even more interesting, the circle tried to pull Spikore along with the sand, hoping to crush the Subterra dragon in a swirling vortex of sand mixed with the concrete of the arena that was slowly being ground into the whirlpool. (Sinkhole Fissure: Combine your G-Power with one of the opponent's bakuagn. The opponent And the user are disabled from using that bakugan or its cards. "Grrah!" Zerevix shouted as sand flew everywhere, "Hey Spikore! Watch where you are spraying that stuff, we're a team, remember?" The Magma beast roared as he moved out of the way of the powerful sand geysers. The didn't really hurt or anything like that. They were just really annoying. "Hey, Crow!" He said to his brawler, "Tell this joker to knock it off. We can't win this way!"
Scarecrow nodded as he turned to his so-called partner. "Hey, punk." He started off angrily, he was still bitter about being teamed up with this kid. "I get that you are used to brawling with your own style, but you have a partner now, play like you have one. Are you even listening to me!?" What Scarecrow didn't realize was that Jason was distracted with dealing with Valentina's Sinkhole Fissure attack, which was currently sucking Spikore, and all of the sand, in.
The masked Pyrus brawler shook his head. Well, at least the sand was disappearing. His eyes flashed a deep red that no one could see, thanks to his mask. As much as he didn't like this kid, he had to help him out. "Ready, Zerevix?" His stoic tone of voice indicated that his focus had returned. Zerevix punched the ground, "You bet!" "Okay then, Ability Activate! Ra Bullseye!" Zerevix's mouth opened as he shot a super fast flash of energy at Terrakinox's magic circle. Sand exploded everywhere as the attack hit. The attack had been broken, but Scarecrow kept his guard. He had a feeling that Shadow Storm, especially Kaden, were capable of a lot more than that.
Activated Effects:
Ra Bullseye: Negate opponents effects, gain 1 ability counter.
Results:
Enemy bakugan may only use Gargylon's effects again.
Allies are still protected.

Kaden observed Jason's selfishness as he potentially harmed his own partner in an attempt to get to him. It shows the lack of cooperation between the two, and complete disregard for his partner's well-being. He found it amusing that his opponents couldn't even work together despite how high the stakes are. The announcer really thought up a good one this time, and it was finally in his favor.
Kaden was impressed at Valentina's display of skill and talent by stopping the Nova Brawler's attack with such little effort. Spikore would have already been dealt with had it not been for the interference of Zerevix. Now they were back to square one. Immediately after Terrakinox's attack was stopped, Kaden's finger glowed as an evo gear was equipped to Dhradakor. Numerous green pulses began to emanate from his body which took on the role of extra arms.
"Neon Zerker, activate!" Kaden shouted. Dhradakor's pulse arms were able to reach his opponents from his current location. They were covered with electrical power, and he used them to try and pierce his opponents by attacking them through different angles using his array of arms.
"Try this on for size peasants!" Dhradakor yelled.

"Gah." Spikore grunted as the he was being sucked in by the gravitational pull of Terrakinox's Sinkhole Fissure attack. He looked down at the vortex of earth and concrete that he was going to be dragged into if he didn't act fast. The swirling rock would crush the Subterra dragon in an instant, despite his hardened scaled. He could try going in with his Soul Shield, but the result would be the same, total defeat. Jason glared at Valentina, she had anticipated his movements. If only he hadn't been careless, he could have come up with a better plan. This would have been easier if he didn't have someone like Scarecrow as his partner. He grimaced, this was going to be a long and arduous brawl.
Suddenly, a blast of energy was shot out of nowhere. The attack collided with the earthen vortex, causing sand, rock, and debris to fly everywhere. The debris got in Spikore's eyes and face as he heard what Zerevix had said. "If we are such a team then why did you shoot me!?" As if a lightbulb flashed in his skull, Spikore soon understood Zerevix's attack. Although his Ra Bullseye maneuver would have been just as effective if he had shot at Terrakinox, he had shot the vortex instead, freeing Spikore, but more importantly, setting him up for his next attack.
Jason soon saw it too as Spikore was surrounded by the flying dirt and debris. He noticed that Kaden had activated his Evo-Gear. To his surprise, it wasn't the same as the one that Gin had described. He had mentioned that Dhradakor's Evo-Gear turned him into a terrifying electrical monster, but that wasn't the case here. This Evo-Gear, Neon Zerker, covered his pulse arms with electrical power. The Ventus bakugan then attacked, now able to reach both opponents from his location. With the set-up from Scarecrow, Jason's eyes narrowed as they flashed.
"Ability Activate! Cyclone Dust!" Using the floating dirt, sand, and concrete, Spikore clasped his hands together, causing all of the loose rock in the air and on the ground to stir. The dust created a cyclonic barrier that blocked the electrical attack, keeping he and Zerevix safe from Dhradakor's attacks. He then thrust his hands forward, sending the barrier towards Dhradakor and Terrakinox, hoping to hit them with thousands of small rocks and pieces of dirt and concrete.
"Good plan Scarecrow," Jason said as he smirked at his so-called partner. "Sometimes the best offense is a good defense."
(Cyclone Dust: User is protected from all enemy effects. Copy one used ability. Double the effects of that ability.
I copy Ra Bullseye. All of your effects are negaed and I gain 2 counters.)

Valentina frowned at her opponent's response to Master Kaden's attack. Did he really think that a petty move like that was enough to stop the attack of Master Kaden's Neon Zerker? However, she was impressed with Scarecrow's intuitive way of thinking. Blowing up her Sinkhole Fissure attack as well us setting up Jason's Cyclone Dust ability was pretty brilliant. There was a very good reason why this masked brawler was the number one candidate for the championship. No matter though. If those two continued to fight the way they did, then this battle would be a piece of cake for her and Master Kaden.
As dust and rocks swarmed to wards the two Shadow Storm brawlers from all sides, Valentina held out her hand, revealing a ring with a beautiful glowing gem. The ring's glow shined brighter as she shouted, Evo-Gear, Enhance! Subterra Geo-Gate!" Terrakinox's body was suddenly bathed in a bright golden brown light. His body turned hard and craggy as sort of jagged crown of rock appeared at the very top of his skull. His fists grew larger as spikes began to grow at the base of his knuckles. He roared as a magic circle appeared in front of him. He lumbered over to the center of Spikore's Cyclone dust attack as two more massive magic circles appeared on either side. The deflected the attack, keeping Terrakinox and Dhradakor safe, not that Dhradakor needed it. This was just her was of proving herself to Master Kaden, that was all.
The deflected attack was sent back towards Spikore and Zerevix. Valentina gave a sly smile as the two bakugan were surrounded by their own attack. (Geo-Gate: Negate all enemy effects. +400G) Subterra Terrakinox & Ventus Dhradakor: 50400G Subterra Spikore & Pyrus Zerevix: 0G [/size] |

Scarecrow grunted after that move. It was a real pain in his side that he had to deal with Jason as his partner. But these punks had to be taken out first. And he had one heck of a plan. All he needed was cooperation from his teammate and his bakugan. hopefully Peter Pan here will listen to a word I say. Otherwise we might not take these pests down. he turned his attention to Cross and his bakugan." Hey mud for brains!" He began with a insult to get his attention. The pyrus brawler would have a really fun time building back up the mysterious brawler facade he had upheld till now." If we wanna win, we need more of a plan than we got. So I'm gonna need your backup to swat these shadow storm roadblocks." He continued. His voice was returning to a somber, emotionless tone that created his persona." Then I get to break you."
Zerevix frowned in dissapointment. Crow had forgot about him." Crow! Ability now would be nice." He "advised" of Scarecrow.
" I got better than that. Dual ability activate!" The masked brawler commanded of his CDS. Zerevix's fist glowed with a red energy, from the first of the two activated abilities. Zerevix used the power to break thoroughly the reflected attack via his opponents evo gear. " first up was my livid red. Here comes the next, magma surprise!" He shouted out. This ability will bring these punks into his domain. Zerevix opened his mouth and brought magma to a point just in front of his mouth. He then fires the ball at the center of the battle area. The ball creeped up and stopped not far from the monster's body." Don't take that ball lightly. One wrong move and it could end you." Scarecrow remarked. All was set for the victory he needed.
Activated effects:
Livid red: negate opponents effects, gain 400g
Magma surprise: drop opponents g's to zero, they can no longer play normal abilities.
Results:
Geo-gate negated
All enemy bakugan must use gargolyons abilities.

Kaden began to be annoyed at his opponents. It was one nuisance after another with these two. Their constant bickering was an amusing sight however, and they're were brawling as if they were lone wolves. This was definitely detrimental when going against two people especially if their opponents were none other than himself and Valentina. It was the perfect opportunity to dominate the battlespace...EASILY.
"Ability activate!" Kaden said as he tapped a card on his CDS. "Depth Apex Airstrike!" Dhradakor held out his arms as he summoned a phenomenon: three wild tornados undoubtedly containing large amounts of wind pressure normally enough to incapacitate a normal human being if struck. They appeared near his opponents and trapped them in a corner while they moved closer and closer. Dhradakor figured this was the safest option to keep Terrakinox from triggering the explosive Scarecrow set. To make matters worse, the gate card had transformed much to his opponents dismay.
"Is this enough action for you Jason? Hmmm?" Kaden jokingly asked. "Gate card open! Maelstrom Devastation!" The gate card's activation caused a storm to appear in the battle arena. The rain it produced provided the means necessary to freely create a maelstrom within the arena while lightning began to strike in random locations. This was enough to amplify the tornado's even more and make the storm worse as they got closer. Of course, the explosive ball Scarecrow set was pulled in into the storm system and exploded some time after a lightning bolt struck it mid air. This act wasn't careless as he knew Valentina wouldn't mind seeing as how the evo gear made Terrakinox too heavy to be affected by all of the winds at a certain distance. This was complete destruction at its finest so far.

Jason gritted his teeth. He couldn't believe this guy. No matter what he and Scarecrow came up with, this snake had a way of slithering out. He stepped back as the arena shook from the sheer force of the tornadoes summoned by Dhradakor's Death Apex Airstrike Ability. How much power did this bakugan have? It seemed that there was no limit to his energy. Spikore was forced to move back into a corner as the whirling entities closed in on him. Things only became worse as Jason noticed that Kaden had completely avoided Scarecrow's explosive Magma Surprise and was now taking control of the Gate Card. He didn't want to think it, but the question, Could things get any worse?" entered his mind. Sure enough, Kaden had activated the Gate, unleashing a massive thunderstorm within the arena. The wind and rain was bad enough, but all of the thunder and lightning caused massive chaos. "Gahh!" Spikore shouted as he was being drawn into the swirling mass of wind and lightning. He tried flying away, but to no avail. "It's no use! We're going to need backup! Give me something big, Jason!"
Jason nodded as he eyes flashed fiercely. "Alright then! Ability Activate! Crash Negative!" Spikore's body was bathed in a bronze light as he was sucked in the vortex. The lightning and rain soon became drawn to him like a magnet as he managed to place his feet on the ground. Next, as if he was some sort of lightning rod, the attack hit him and transferred into the arena floor. Spikore roared as his body glowed brighter, giving him strength. He leaped into the air and headed straight for Dhradakor, determined to give him a taste of his now electrified fist. "Now, fall!" Spikore shouted.
(Crash Negative: Negate all enemy Abilities. Opponent's cannot increase their G-Power. Double your G-Power. Remember, my effects are doubled so I will quadruple my G-Power.)

Valentina shook her head and kept her self from busting out in laughter. These two imbeciles truly didn't understand the meaning of giving up, did they? She watched with an almost wicked pleasure as their bakugan were forced into a corner by Master Kaden's attack. However, they refused to give in. Why would they do something so foolish? What's the point in fighting if your defeat is inevitable. It's not like they would have a chance against her and Master Kaden, so why bother? She let out a frustrated sigh, some things were beyond her understanding. She quietly observed as the tornadoes dissipated, giving energy to Master Kaden's Gate Card attack, Maelstrom Devastation. She had seen this cadr before. She knew it's destructive powers. The Russian girl shot a smirk towards Jason and Scarecrow, their fate was sealed.
The Russian brawler frowned as she saw that this wasn't the case. Somehow, that pathetic excuse for a dragon, Spikore, had attracted most of Kaden's attack towards him. He had basically turned himself into a lightning rod. To make matters even more annoying, he used the damage that he had sustained in order to gain energy. Why wouldn't these fools just admit defeat already? She shook her head as the Subterra dragon had leaped into the air, preparing to attack Dhradakor. "I won't let that happen!" The female brawler shouted, her eyes flashing a golden brown as she activated her next attack. "Ability Activate! Ability Breaker!" The glowing energy emanating from Spikore started to dissipate as Terrakinox launched a fist in Spikore's direction. (Ability Breaker: Negate an enemy Ability Card. I negate Crash Negative.)

Scarecrow cracked a smile under his mask. That was a mistake on his opponents part. Using a simple ability like that. Scarecrow's eyes flashed red once again." Now time for a real ability. Go promethian strong arm." Scarecrow called out. He was out of ideas. And almost out of abilities. That was to be expected though, with his opponents bieng shadow storm. Still, he was scarecrow, the number one brawler in the world.
Zerevix bent down so he could use his full power to launch. As he did so, his arm begun to glow a deep red. Zerevix slammed the ground to deactivate the ability breaker card. He then pushed off of his mighty legs to rocket at his opponents, With the intent to crush them with his fist.

Promethian strong arm: negate opponents effects, gain 400g.
