Season 4, Ep 16: The Assassin

[Jason Cross]

As Jason and Scarecrow escape head towards the Sky Reavers' Headquarters, they take a shortcut through a back alley. As they traverse through the labyrinth of streets, the come across a large lot that seems to be the center of the maze. Sitting in the center is a large, grey wolf. Intrigued by the phenomena that there is a wolf in the city like this, Jason approaches it. He is then attacked and bitten by the wolf. Thinking nothing of it, Jason states that he deserved it and laughs it off, heading towards the exit and onto the next street. However, his path is blocked by the wolf, who, much to the surprise of Scarecrow and Jason, turns into a human girl with wolf ears! Who is this strange girl who stands in Jason's way? Is she friend or foe?

"Uh..." Jason was shocked by this peculiar turn of events. A large gray wolf had just appeared in a back alley of Championship City, and had now transformed into some weird looking girl that had seemed to have appeared from some furry's fantasy. Who was this chick? and why the heck did she bite him? What had he ever done to her to make her so upset? At least, he guessed she was upset from the look on her face and the fact that she bit him. "What the heck is going on?" He looked to Scarecrow, who didn't seem to have a clue. Then again, who could ever really tell what that dude was thinking. "Dude!"Spikore shouted at his partner. "Are you alright? It looks like that wolf-girl bit you pretty bad." Jason looked down at his arm to see the hideous bite mark that she had left. He hadn't noticed it before, but the attack had drawn blood. He looked back at the young woman, what was she? He had never seen her before in his life. She was of fair skin and height, a little shorter than him. She had grey hair, which wasn't too strange, right? She looked like a normal, ordinary girl, if normal, ordinary girls had claws on their hands and feet, wolf ears, and had the power turn into a barking, snarling dog. Yup, she was perfectly normal. At leas,t that's what Jason tried to convince himself. 

He shook his head, this was all getting too weird. "Who are you?" He questioned, hoping that wolf-girls spoke English and not Dog.

[Sakura Ootori]

Sakura suddenly smirked. She was expecting to be called a wolf-girl which she grew tired of. When she looked back at Jason her smirk vanished from her face. "Don't ever call me a wolf-girl again. I'm a werewolf.My name is Sakura Ootori and I'm here to kill you Jason Cross." When she said that Sentiao came out and landed on Sakura's shoulder. "I hope you know why we want to kill you Jason because I'm not going to say it." Sakura looked on her shoulder and took her bakugan in hand. She knew that once he sees Jason that he would not hold back his comments. She put him back in her pocket, hoping that he would stay there.

"Well since that is over why don't we get down to business." Sakura said holding a gate in front of her face. She had another smirk on her face. She loved to fight no matter how, if it's bakugan or with her fist. She loved them both and had a reputation for it as well. Luckily she's not that big of a sore loser if she loses in a fight, she'll just try again until she succeeds.

Despite the threat of the situation Jason was in, Spikore couldn't help but laugh. "Man, what did you do to piss her off? DId you spit in her Cheerios?" Jason shook his head, "Knock it off. This is serious. I'm not gonna let some mutt come threaten to kill me for no reason, werewolf or no werewolf. Now miss Sakura Ootori, what have I done that deserves my death? I've been chased out of the WC Arena, my friends are God-knows-where, and I'm now being hunted by some wolf-girl who won't tell me why she wants to kill me. Now tell me, does that make any sense to you?" As he spoke, he noticed that a bakugan had landed on her shoulder. He scratched his head as an idea formed in his mind. "So you want to brawl do you? Alright, I accept!"

Spikore landed on his palm as his eyes flashed. "Setting Gate Card!" The lot pulsed with golden brown energy. "Gate Card Set! Bakugan Brawl!" He flung the brown bakugan ball onto the field. A cyclone of dust and debris surrounded the ball as Spikore appeared in his monster form. The brown dragon roared as Jason shouted, "Bakugan Stand! Rise, Subterra Spikore!" The bakugan slammed a fist in his palm. "You wanna fight, wolfie? That's what you're gonna get!"

(Subterra Spikore has enetered the battlefield at 800G)

Sakura smirked vanished again as Jason called her a mutt and a wolfie. That was not cool in her books and names like that often lead her to punch and start a fight with the one who said it but she couldn't this time. "You better stop calling me names or you'll end up in the hospital just like the others that said the same names as you did. I have a reputation for that. Look it up if you want and I'm here to kill you because Sentiao's world depends on your death. Bakugan brawl! Sentiao stand" A tsunami of water appeared and then turned into a tornado. Sentiao stepped out howling when the tornado disappeared and then growled at his opponent ready for a battle.

"I'm really hoping to end this fast. I got another fight at my house and I'm not planning on missing it. By the way even if I do lose you won't get rid of me until your dead at my feet."

Jason was confused. Nothing that this strange girl had said was making any sense. Her reason for killing him was that Sentaio's world depended on Sentiao's death? What did that even mean? Weren't all bakugan from New Vestroia? There hadn't been any issues with New Vestroia for many years. So what was this bakugan even talking about? He reasoned that Sentiao could have been from somewhere else, just because all bakugan originated from Vestroia didn't necessarily mean that they were all born there. So where was he from? Earth? No. Earth wasn't in any danger, then again, Shadow Storm could be planning anything. Then where else? Vestal? Nethia? Gundalia? Olympia? Was there an unknown planet that no one knew about? Was Sentiao from another galaxy? Jason shook his head. This was all starting to give him a headache. However, he did know one thing, if what Sakura was saying was true, then she was only doing what she thought was right. That would mean that she wasn't really his enemy, except for the fact that she was trying to kill him. He would have to be smart about this. It didn't help that he had inadvertently insulted her. I mean, she was a wolf-girl...ish.

After Sakura threw her bakugan onto the field, Sentaio spoke to the assassin. "If Sentiao's world is in danger, then wouldn't it make sense for me to help you try and solve this problem? If I'm the cause then maybe I can be the solution. Killing me won't solve anything. However, if that's how you wanna play..." His eyes flashed as he activated an ability. In a normal situation, he would use his Gate Card combined with an attack, but he decided that this wasn't his best option. he wanted to prove that he wasn't the enemy, but if she still wanted his head on a silver platter, then he didn't want to be defenseless either. "Ability Activate! Vicious Arsenal!" The bakugan started to glow as he opened his palms. Two orbs of light appeared in his palms. The two entities started to morph into weapons as Jason shouted, "Go Support Weapons! Meta Mace and Archaion Buster!" The orb in his left hand morphed into a glowing mace. The orb on the right transformed into a massive cannon that Spikore held on his shoulder. It charged up a large amount of energy as the bakugan holding it spoke a challenge to Sentiao. "You like to fight? Then let's fight! Fire!" The cannon fired a large orb of glowing, golden-brown energy at Sentaio.

(Vicious Arsenal: User may turn one card in their bakupack into a SW. User may throw out 2 SW. Transfer 200G per SW in play or take control of the gate card. I'll turn Archaion Buster into a 0G SW and throw it out with Meta Mace (400G). I transfer 400G.

Next I activate the effect of Archaion Buster. Negate all enemy effects. Change enemy bakugan description to "This bakugan may only use the cards of "____". "_____" being whatever bakugan that the user of this card owns. Reduce enemy G-Power to 0G. Your bakugan may only use the effects of my Subterra Gargylon. Good luck.)

Sakura has gotten serious about this. Why in the world would he help her save Sentiao's world when he was the cause of it, so say the one that gave her the mission, but what if that person lied and had a grudge against Jason and wanted him dead for some reason? Sakura was now confused she didn't know what to think anymore. Sentiao did say that his world is in danger but not the one whose causing the destruction. Non the less she wasn't backing out of a fight just because of some doubts. "I don't know what to think anymore. The person who said that he will pay me if I killed you and yet you want to help me save Sentiao's world despite the fact that I want to kill you. He told me you were the cause of the destruction and all is lost if your not dead.Nothing is making sense anymore but if you think I'm backing down without a fight, your sadly mistaken. Ability card activate! Ferocity!" Sentiao glowed a bright blue and with both of his front claws he dig into the ground and circles of the same color blue was emanating from Sentiao's front paws.

"If you think I'm ready to give up then you should think again. Explain to us why you would help out despite the fact that your being hunted and is also the cause of my worlds destruction."

(Ferocity: Nullifies the opponent's ability and transfers 400 Gs from the opponent to each of your Bakugan. Prevent opponents from using support weapon effects.)

Jason shook his head. This conversation wasn't going the way that he wanted it to go at all. "No!" He shouted almost sounding frantic. He was completely and utterly confused, which began to frustrate him. Why couldn't he get her to understand? Was it because, deep down, he really didn't understand anything himself? "That's not it! I just have no idea what's going on. How would you feel if someone tried to kill you for a purpose that even they couldn't explain?" He breathed a frustrated sigh. He could tell that all he was doing was uselessly venting at the wolf-girl. "Look Jason," Spikore interrupted the thoughts of his partner, "I understand that you wanna prove your innocence, believe me, I do. However, we obviously can't get them to listen, so we're gonna have to do it the hard way. We need to prove out innocence by battling. You understand?" Jason nodded. He didn't really have any other choice but to listen to his best friend. He shook the cobwebs out of his head and began to glare at Sakura. "Look," He said to the werewolf, his eyes burning with intensity, "I may not be able to keep you from trying to assassinate me, after all, it is your job, and that's something that I must respect. However, I will not just stand here and drop dead for you. Something sinister is going on, and I need to figure out why it's happening. Until that happens, I will not die. I won't allow it!"

As Sentiao's Ferocity ability caused the wolf's claws to turn blow, Jason began to prepare his own attack. The Aquos bakugan dug into the ground, avoiding Spikore's Archaion Buster attack. In order to counter attack, Jason signaled for Spikore to fly upwards, directly above Aquos Sentiao's location. Now that the bakugan had itself in a hole in the ground, he would make an easy target for one of Spikore's explosive attacks. "Ability Activate!" Jason shouted, "Terra Nova!" Spikore's eyes began to glow as he opened his palms. Numerous glowing orbs fit into either palm, each of them radiating with Subterra energy. The brown dragon roared as Jason continued, "You know, for an assassin, you don't seem to know how to adapt against opponent's of different types. You're taking on a Subterra Bakugan, yet you ordered your bakugan to dig into the ground. Are you sure that you and Sentiao will be able to maneuver out of this one? Spikore, Now!" The bakugan roared once more as he sent the orbs flying down towards the wolf bakugan in the hole. Each orb was explosive, so Sentiao would have to escape from the attack or somehow neutralize it. Otherwise, the impact would be incredibly dangerous. "There's no escape!" The Subterra bakugan roared.

(Terra Nova: Turn all enemy cards into SWs. Send back all enemy SWs. Loop an effect from your backpack.

I loop Cyclone Dust: User is protected from all enemy effects. Copy one used ability. Double the effects of that ability.

I copy Ferocity:cNullifies the opponent's ability and transfers 400 Gs from the opponent to each of your Bakugan. Prevent opponents from using support weapon effects. I actually transfer 800G.)
