The episode began with a mysterious evil man sitting on throne inside a hidden area of Equilibria. His name is Xecarlos, a demon-like being, and the leader of the Chaos Rulers group. He was able to observe the battles between the Chaos Rulers and the Team Blasters that already happened. Soon after discovering the Team Blasters defeated the Chaos Rulers several times, Xecarlos was angered by his teammates' failures. He questioned why they couldn't win even with the perfect Transformation Chaosmode he created. After questioning, Xecarlos recalled the past events when he corrupted people using the mysterious chaos powers he had, as it was shown in a flashback...

The story took place three days before Barodius became the Emperor of Gundalia, in the events of Bakugan Gundalian Invaders. At the balcony of the Gundalian royal palace, Barodius and Kazarina were looking out at the city of Gundalia, with smiles on their faces. "Your vow for Gundalia is quite interesting, Mr. Barodius. In fact, I also have hope for eternal peace for all of Gundalia. If your father was here, he would've been very proud of you..." Said Kazarina, complementing Barodius. Barodius smiled at Kazarina, as he held her hand. "Why thank you, Kazarina. When I become the Emperor in a few days, I shall spread my father's legacy across the universe, and perhaps, we could become great allies to other worlds..." Said Barodius, talking about his dreams to Kazarina. He and Kazarina started to look at each other, until a dark laughter filled the room.

"My, my, how touching..." Said a voice, seemingly mocking Barodius and Kazarina. Barodius and Kazarina quickly turned around to look at the room they were in, looking for the source of the voice. "What the?! Who's there?! Show yourself or I'll be forced to take actions!" Shouted Barodius, demanding the person who spoke to show himself. Suddenly, dark purple-colored energy gathered in the room, and a being formed in front of Barodius and Kazarina, with shocked looks on their faces. "I am Xecarlos, the ruler of Equilibria... Barodius... Kazarina... You both seem to be filled with great power... Power that is useful to me..." Said Xecarlos, starting to talk to Barodius and Kazarina. Kazarina started to approach Xecarlos, with electricity charging in her left hand. "What are you talking about?! What could you possibly...?!" Shouted Kazarina, as she started to say something. Xecarlos held out a hand, and dark purple-colored energy gathered into his hand, and a card formed in his hand, and it emitted a yellow-colored light. Xecarlos threw the card at Kazarina's chest, causing it to burrow itself into her soul, as she let out a painful scream, falling to the ground. Barodius ran over to an unconscious Kazarina, gently shaking her, and he got up, glaring at Xecarlos, with purple-colored electricity forming in his left hand. "Kazarina! Grr.... Why did you do that?! And what do you want from us?!" Shouted Barudius, demanding an answer from Xecarlos. Xecarlos merely chuckled, as more purple-colored energy gathered into his hand, and another card formed in his hands, and it emitted a dark purple-colored light. "That is something I shall not tell... But I can tell you this... It's for the sake of my revival, and... To turn you both into my puppets... You shall be changed by what I'm about to do... By doing this...." Said Xecarlos, talking to Barodius about his intentions. Xecarlos threw the card at Barudius' chest, and it burrowed into Barodius' chest, and into his soul, as Barodius let out a scream, as he clenched his chest. "Now, your personalities and memories have been altered... From this point forward, you two are not rulers of peace. You are rulers of evil, hatred, and despair... And you two shall create an overflowing river of chaos across the entire universe... For the sake of Equilibria..." Said Xecarlos, talking to Barodius. Barodius and Kazarina opened their eyes, and smiled evilly, as their eyes emitted a red-colored light. Now this was where Barodius decided to declare a war against Neathia!
