It has been nearly three years following a massive battle here in the District of Columbia between two ferocious dragons. The damage to the surrounding area has undergone swift repairs that made the capitol look as close to its former self as it could get. The specific spot where the final showdown took place was closed off and restricted. It was a painful reminder of what Bakugan were capable of in the wrong hands. Laws had to become stricter; law enforcement and the military had to become stronger. There had to be better brawlers in order to prepare for what is unseen. That is what the mission was for the entire country; it was a mission that had to be taken seriously. An urgent news report suddenly appeared on the television as everything seemed to be working out for the best. There was an explosion that occurred at the D.C. Jail that struck fear into the hearts of those who were near it. The explosion's cause could have likely been interpreted in different ways; the criminals could have acquired materials to create their paths to freedom, or a Bakugan could have gotten brave and did the work for them. Regardless of what the cause was, there was a growing concern for who could be coming out of that building if it was a planned escape. The television that was watched was on a stand in a room belonging to the person who endured the most pain from the previous disaster: Noland Hardy. He was preparing for the first day of school that would be upon him in a couple of days, so he wasn't too fond of doing any heroic actions that people have come to expect of him. He had already lost hope in the Bakugan race and retired from brawling, and seeing the news story would most likely remove any doubt of their redemption; he instead retired in his Maryland residence to be free of any worry. His little brother, Kendrick, convinced him into checking out the area since he feared the criminals in there would have a way out. Although he didn't want to, he got out of his chair, summoned the dragonoid outside, and rode on his back as he flew to the jail. The hero had emerged once more.
Cinder Dragonoid had perched on a nearby rooftop to scan the surrounding area for any suspicious Bakugan activity, so both him and Noland were stationary as they exchanged words. "You do realize that they should be able to contain whatever is doing this, right?" Noland questioned. "Would we not be doing them a disservice if we just did the work for them?" The dragonoid slightly agreed to this notion, but still felt the opposite. "Regardless of what they should be capable of, there's something down there, and we should be working together to stop it," Cinder responded. As they said this, another explosion was heard at the building. "That's our cue, I guess..." Noland pointed out. The dragonoid flew down there to assess the situation with Noland on his back. As they arrived, the operation that was being executed by the offender was already close to its end. Noland and the dragonoid heard something approaching them from the side of the building. The footsteps became louder and faster as they got closer. Suddenly, a dark Bakugan leaped out of the building and attempted to tackle Cinder. Cinder evaded the tackle and stood ready to fight it. "What in the world is that?" Noland asked as a mysterious figure walked out of the side of the building from where it came.

Two seconds after the dark Bakugan attempted to tackle Dragonoid Noland felt a weird presence coming right out of the building. Dark Bakugan ceased it's attack as it was waiting for something. Suddenly, a man in black clothes appeared in front of Noland. Noland could see in man's eyes that he was surprised. "Great job with all the noise. I think there were a few of dogs in the alley that didn't hear you" said the man to dark Bakugan standing next to him. Then he looked at Noland with a vicious look on his face. "And what do we have here? Hero himself decided to give me a visit? How flattering...In case you don't know my name is Daniel; one you've put to jail thanks to skills you've stolen from your father" said the man while pulling out a Bakugan ball with Darkus emblems all over it. Bakugan ball opened and started glowing in dark-purple color. Dark mist shrouded the man and the Bakugan ball while the dark Bakugan from earlier remained untouched. Before completely vanishing in the dark mist man spoke to Noland: "I am sorry I cannot stay and play with you kid, but I have other work. In the meanwhile, my friend here will entertain you." When he said that, dark Bakugan jumped in front of Noland and started roaring as a crazy lion. It started spitting acidic saliva and its eyes turned red as in some kind of a demon. When man completely vanished dark Bakugan jumped in the air in another attempt to tackle Dragonoid.

"..." Noland was speechless as he saw an old enemy of his escape from jail, and he had to be one of the most dangerous people that has ever walked these streets. It was currently impossible for him to determine where he escaped to at this point. A notorious criminal freely roaming the streets again was definitely a huge problem. "You've got to be kidding me!" Noland shouted in disgust as Daniel escaped. He truly wanted to curse his name aloud as he was the main ringleader of the criminals that participated in the war two years back. Drago was as angry as he was, but his priorities were set on the threat in front of them. "I didn't want to see him as much as you didn't, but we need to bring this thing down before it releases the other two!" Drago exclaimed.
The dark Bakugan lunged at Drago in an attempt to tackle him once again. Noland held up his left hand to reveal a gauntlet-like pad. It was his father's old model that was passed down to Noland on the day he received his first Bakugan. He used the gauntlet to activate abilities for his bakugan to use. "Alrighty then, Drago. Let's do this. Ability activate! Volcanic Temper!" Drago's entire body was covered in an aura of flames upon activation. He then went in for a tackle to meet the opponent. "Get out of my face, demon!" Drago threatened as he collided with the enemy. At the same time, he released the energy in order to cause an explosion, sending waves of fire across the battlefield.

Dark Bakugan was struck down by a powerful explosion, but surely was not intending to move away. It got up and looked at Noland with its evil eyes and started talking in a way that creeped Noland out. "Shhhhh...you little brat...you shall never defeat us...Demon Shockwave!" said the Bakugan in its dark and creepy voice and opened its jaws. Dark power accumulated in its mouth and Bakugan launched it at the Dragonoid which was surprised to see his enemy on its feet.

Noland was rather disturbed by the Bakugan's voice. The fact that it was primed for battle didn't faze him one bit, but the noise it makes is unbearable. "You should take your own advice. I'd rather you not talk...at all..." Noland responded. He uploaded another ability card as Drago commented on the way the enemy was commendable for taking the attack so well. "That monster can take a hit..." Drago sighed.
Noland then activated an ability to respond to the Demon Shockwave attack that was aimed at them. "Ability activate! Flawless Shield!" Drago used the golden-tipped wings that he is equipped with to deflect the attack in an opposite direction of the building. This was done on purpose to alert other people to where this was taking place. "You want to try that again?" Noland taunted.

Dark Bakugan made a terrifying roar that made Noland's ears hurt. Then it started running wildly towards Dragonoid as it did not care to get hurt or killed. Upon arriving in front of Dragonoid dark Bakugan open its terrifying jaws and roared again. "Shhh...die you little brat! Shadow Twister!" dark Bakugan hissed with its irritating, fiendish voice. Then it launched a spinning wave of darkness at Dragonoid and Noland hoping to catch Noland in the blast. "Thissssss will be the lassst time you interfere with our plansss..." hissed dark Bakugan at Noland as darkness wave gets closer to him

Noland covered his ears with his hands as the Bakugan roared. "I guess everything about Darkus is annoying huh?" Noland said to himself. Drago was also stunned by the roar, and it proved to be very painful for him to endure it. He was prepared to activate another ability to shut him up, but the action was interrupted when the Bakugan approached them and unleashed an attack. The attack wasn't just aimed at Drago, but it looked like Noland was a target as well when he looked at it. Noland was confident that the attack wouldn't harm him as long as Drago did his job, which according to his legacy, he should be able to.
"That's a vile move to go for a human," Drago declared. He acted quickly and tried to provide a form of defense for Noland. "Aegis Crusher!" Drago surrounded himself in an orb-like shield that was intended to absorb any attack that comes into contact with it. In the process, he also charges his own attack in order to use it against his opponents in an explosive wave.

Dark Bakugan hit the barrier, but was reflected and fell on the ground. Still, creature of darkness was not intending to give up and it quickly stood up and prepared for next attack. "Sssso...your weakness, Dragonoid...isss this little brat..." hissed the dark Bakugan while looking at Dragonoid with its fiendish, demonic eyes. It was obvious that this creature was not quite ready to give up any time soon. Tension started to grow bigger as both sides were almost at equal power. Dark one jumped in the air and opened opened its jaws. "Shadow Burner!" hissed the fiend as it launched black fire from its mouth directly at Dragonoid and Noland. Then it quickly landed and started running wildly towards Dragonoid from the ground. Dragonoid seems to be in a trap as it has to face black fire from the sky and a fiendish demon from the ground at once.

Drago scowled at his opponent's ruthless attempts at harming Noland. He understood that his opponent had a versatile arsenal of attacks, but to use them in this manner was way over the line. He heard the demon comment on how he believes Noland to be his weakness. He wanted to laugh at his opponent at this point just because of how wrong he truly was. "What you consider my weakness," Drago responded as he finished charging his attack from the Aegis Crusher ability, "is actually one of my greatest strengths."
Noland revealed another ability on his gauntlet and activated it. "Ability activate! Rapid Fire Takedown!" Clones of Drago emerged from his body instantaneously; one flew straight up at the flames to take the hit for the original while the other one went to meet the opposing Bakugan. The one who took the hit exploded in midair. The clone that went after the dark Bakugan detonated as soon as he was within close range and released a gigantic destructive wave of energy; it was the embodiment of the destructive wave that was charged through Aegis Crusher.

Blast that Dragonoid caused was enormously strong and blew the dark one away. Dragonoid was angered by dark one's words about his and Noland's partnership. Despite it received so much damage dark one kept on fighting. Upon realizing that Dragonoid was more powerful than he looked like the dark one prepared for its next move. It was obviously demonic move; dark one roared so loud that windows of nearby buildings were breaking into pieces. "We will ssse about that. This place will be YOUR GRAVE!" hissed the dark one and continued: "Demon Inferno." Dark one opened its jaws again and launched a combo of Darkus and Pyrus at Dragonoid in a form of super-inferno. Flames caught the nearby building and destroyed it. Noland and Dragonoid were the next target. Noland knows that he must defeat this fiend before it launches another attack and catches innocent people as collateral damage.

Drago crossed his arms and covered himself with his durable wings in order to provide some defense to the Demon Inferno ability; unfortunately, the dragonoid's defense was futile as the flames began to spread across his body in an attempt to burn him to ashes. As this was happening, Drago made a desperate plea for help before the flames could spread any further. "Anytime would be great, Noland!" he shouted in pain. With that said, Noland uploaded another ability card. "Alright. Relax, man. Ability Breaker!" Ability Breaker was a generic ability that caused a bright light to flash in Drago's vicinity, nullifying the ability's effects on him; however, he could only take care of the flames that were on him and not the entire area as that would leave him without enough power to deal with this Bakugan. "You really think someone is going to relax with flames burning them throughout their body? Really, Noland? Even after I just defended you..." Drago said in his mind.
The flames that were unleashed made contact with the prison and caused it to collapse, which most likely killed every being whether they were criminals or cops. Noland and Drago were absolutely livid at the amount of lives lost in that single attack. "Are you serious!?" Drago yelled with a bit of shock. Noland was more than disturbed by what he just did. It was apparent he watched two close people go down in front of him; seeing countless humans and Bakugan killed in an instant in this manner was enough to make him fight to kill if he wasn't thinking about it already. "That's the last casualty. You're not going to cause another!" Noland declared.

Demonic Bakugan did not even pay attention to deaths of people it caused. It just kept its eyes fixed on Noland and Dragonoid and gave them a cold look. Its eyes were burning in crimson color as acidic saliva kept on falling from its mouth. Noland was disgusted by its heartless and mindless actions and mostly by its awful, demonic and disgusting appearance. It was obvious that this creature did not care about anyone's life. Then it started walking towards Dragonoid slowly making both Dragonoid and Noland very intense as Noland prepared to continue with activating abilities. When the demon made several steps it stopped. "Shhhh...thisss is the place where the Hero ssshall fall...Die! Gorgon's Gaze!" hissed the demon with its irritating voice and starred towards Dragonoid which did not understand the purpose of demon's ability until...Dragonoid started turning into stone quickly and Noland understood the meaning of "Gorgon" in demon's ability. "Thisss is the end, Hero. Thisss is where you and your pet will perish!" hissed the demon with laughter as Dragonoid's body was quickly turning to stone.

"So your plan is to encase Drago in stone, eh?" He figured out what the opponent was trying to do, but Drago had already fell victim to the ability and was turning to stone. Noland was unfazed by the opponent's attempt to immobilize Drago. At this point, he was primarily focused on making sure no one else was a victim of this Bakugan's mindless rampage of destruction. "The end? I don't think so. This is only the beginning of preparing YOUR resting place," Noland retorted as his eyes flashed in a red color.
Noland uploaded another ability card despite the encasing process nearly done. "Ability activate! Phoenix Tornado!" Drago's entire body was enveloped in a flame-covered phoenix. This allowed him to utilize the characteristics of a phoenix in this instance; although turning to stone would most likely mean the inevitable end, it is given a second chance as it rises to fight once again. The phoenix avatar spread its wings and released a lot of power as it flapped them, causing all of the purple flames in the surrounding area to disappear. It then returned to Drago's body by flying into him, enabling him to escape his doom and stand. "Your time is up!" Drago roared as he prepared another attack.

Demon realized the might that Drago had in his body, but refused to give up. This creature had a strong motive and it was obvious how strong its will of winning was. Then it started sprinting wildly towards the Drago as it was carried by wind. Dark purple glow was emitted from its body and its eyes started glowing in a strong, crimson color. "Therr isss a way...I will prove you...that your dessstiny hasss been...ss...sealed!!! You will now tassste the wrath of my ancient power!" hissed the demon with rage in his voice and mind. Then it jumped towards Drago and its body was charged with dark-purple, high-powered laser energy which started to damage everything in the area and Drago was the next target. "Wrath Reaper Laser" hissed the dark one and laser charge got even bigger and stronger in a second. Lasers started burning everything in the area to ashes and the dark one was heading to Drago to burn him down. Tense is so unbearable as Drago is about to get killed

Noland was confident that the creature had exhausted all of its options if it went for a hail mary on this attack. "So that's your final answer..." He uploaded one final ability card in his gauntlet in order to make sure he finished the job. "Ability activate! Blaze Tornado!" Drago was surrounded in a tornado of fire as he swiftly flew directly at his enemy in order to strike him in a critical point to overload his power. The two Bakugan met at the center, and the two fighters were then locked in a power struggle.
As this happened, Noland was suddenly struck by a vision reminding him of the past. This brought him back to that fateful battle years ago despite the countless times he tried not to remember. The dreadful memory of the loss of his father and Alana could never escape him as long as he continued to witness the evil deeds committed by today's Bakugan and humans. He started to speak to himself in his mind about this issue. "That was my reason for fighting all along: to prevent losses like that from happening ever again so other people do not have to bear the pain I've shouldered...but how can I do that when I couldn't even stop this Bakugan from killing people...right in front of me...?" As he thought this, he began to have a concerned look on his face as he observed the clash. "The sad thing is...what if it's right? What if my destiny has been sealed...in eternal pain?"
Drago and the demon's clash intensified as both of them kept increasing their power to push past the other. Eventually, an explosion occurred in the center of those two as the clash ended. Out of the smoke, the dark Bakugan was flung into the debris left by the remains of the prison he destroyed. The dragonoid was sprung back a few inches after exiting the clash, but stood victoriously. "Like I said, this bond was one of my greatest strengths, not a liability." Drago stated.
