Due to the overwhelming positive feedback from my first teaser, I will do another. This time, it will be teasing the plot of season 2. The disclaimers for the first will apply here also. Do not expect for me to feed you all of the information. I will word it in a way that provokes thought and discussion. I will not spoil what I have planned just because you are eager to see it. With that said, feel free to comment on it if you want to leave any likes/dislikes about what I have written. As always, enjoy.
“Reputation is what others think of us; character is what God knows of us. When you have spent what feels like eternity trying to repair a few moments of time that destroyed the view others once had of you then you must ask yourself if you have the problem or is it really them? God doesn’t make us try so hard, only enemies do.”
As I look back on what has occurred in the past year after reading that quote, I started to wonder. Is it important to always worry about what others think of you, or is what you know about yourself more essential? Do we create friends in proving ourselves to others, or do we make enemies?
When we won against Nero and his dark forces, we were expecting change. The change that I and many others have wanted is due to the backlash all armed forces received for six teenagers being able to protect the people better than they could. You can say that it sounds pretty unrealistic for something like that to happen, but there's a reason why the Terrorists under Daniel's leadership and the Pack were brought to an end when they previously ran amok in the streets without the Resistors' interference. Regardless of our stance in society, it was a general consensus that all law enforcement needed to up their game, and they did; however, after seeing them in action numerous times, we can all agree that we should have been careful of what we wished for.
The police have already been heading down the road of militarization for years now after the first two 9/11 attacks, but this previous battle with Nero pissed way too many people off that essentially forced the acceleration of their arms building. The equipment all officers wielded across the country were advanced weaponry that had enough firepower to overpower powerhouses like Gladion and Drago with little effort if the opposition made just one mistake. This level of power did not sit well with the general public especially when factoring in how they now view civilians. You'd get stopped just because the color of your skin is different from theirs, which is something I never thought would continue happening in our generation. You can only get away with that so many times until they do that to the wrong person, and then they'll begin a fight that'll tear every single one of us apart.
Noland was curious about how they got their hands on tech this sophisticated, and it turns out that their weapons were not made by human hands. They've apparently got it from a company stationed elsewhere, but here's the kicker. The United States was not the only country to purchase arms from this dealer. In fact, the entire world has bought into this, and the worst part is their soaring popularity caused them to want to become "friends" with us in an attempt to make even more partnerships. So what do they do, you ask? They wanted to buy into our brawling sport, so they sponsored a few battlers from there and transported them here. There were three people that have caught my interest. One is a female that does a very good job at pissing off one of our own girls. The other two have claimed to be rivals to Noland and I. One is a Subterra brawler just like me who calls himself the "Flying Fortress." He has a Bakugan that can literally fight at any angle he chooses from anywhere on the battlefield and is still able to maintain high defensive tactics. The other calls himself the Executioner. He's a Pyrus brawler that has shown to be just as much of a bruiser on the battlefield as Noland. The major difference is that Noland shows more finesse while that guy just prefers brutality. Their Bakugan are very similar in configuration as well. Brawling hasn't really been rewarding since they showed up due to a very popular controversy regarding the spike in power output that resulted in someone being killed in the arena.
Speaking of which, Noland has been behaving very differently since our last competition as if something really bad had happened to him. The result of nationals really put him down, but there has to be a very good reason why he is holding secret conversations with someone working for the corporation supplying these weapons and sponsoring these brawlers. I spied on him once while he was making a call, and I overheard a man telling him that he can solve all of his problems. He's also very short-tempered and dodged any question he gets asked about what's going on with him. What is Noland going through...what does this man mean about "solving his problems," and more importantly...
...what is he going to do about it?
