Not only had the Advanced Fusion Ability made Gorem's body tougher, but he was also faster. He was moving so fast that it put other Subterra Bakugan who used their weight as an excuse to shame. Luckily for Clayf...
...His Atomic Brave caught up to him.
Clayf's power rose in the form of a dark brown aura that erupted from the ground and took shape around him, cracking it in the process. Clayf responded to Gorem's individual punches by increasing his durability to the point where he didn't necessarily have to shift his body in an uncomfortable way to get his shields up. This was necessary to survive the attacks because he couldn't adjust anyway. The staggering messed up his movement, which was why he was in this position. He had to settle with taking the blows as ordered. The inflicted blows traveled through Clayf a little since the rock formations Gorem had formed were breaking down by his force. Clayf soon paid them a visit once the final punch launched him towards it, causing everything to collapse on top of him.
It took five seconds for any hint of movement to be detected from Clayf. That was an understatement actually since he just walked on through the debris like they weren't even there, not showing any noticeable signs of damage. He got his axe unstuck on the way back to Gorem.
"You look a lot different from how you came in. I saw that confidence in your eyes when you got the jump on little old me. You were in the zone. How did that feel?"

Clayf appeared to be uninjured from Gorems barrage of blows. Both Gorem and Allen couldnt believe that was true though. He launched what he could to end the fight, so there was no way he didnt finish the brawl. One way or another, it was done. Clayf then asked how they were feeling. " i feel amazing. It was like when brawling was fun. I wasnt worried about the fate of the world or anything else. The only thing that mattered was what was right in front of me."
" i second that." Gorem agreed. He was still coming off a power high from the advanced fusion ability. It was like nothing he had felt before. And of course it had to come to a bittersweet end." After popping Kinesis Dominator, i only wanted to beat you. What came next would come next. It was completely different from my battles with the pack and the spartans."

Clayf chuckled at Allen and Gorem's response. It wasn't out of mockery. It was that he could see what they were talking about and agreed with it wholeheartedly.
"That's a good way to look at it. We just need to fight how we like to fight instead of letting the situation control that aspect. Interestingly enough though, you could actually kill me with what you used just now..." Clayf's laughter decreased as he was saying that because it was true. He didn't want to cut Gorem's time in the spotlight short, but he had to. The Advanced Fusion Ability was too lethal to play around with.
"Just to inflate your ego a bit more...I started to take you as serious as a mortal combatant when you pulled that card on me. That type of technique is nothing to play around with. I'd consider you a cut above the rest as you were when I first saw you, but with that active, you're in a tier of your own," Clayf acknowledged. "The Advanced Fusion Ability is a rarity and has really only seen limited use throughout our existence mainly because few Bakugan can do what you're doing and survive using it. I'm sure you feel the power coursing through your veins right now, but that's normally too much to handle. Your battles may have toughened Gorem up to be able to withstand that kind of punishment, so he can use it unhindered. Some even compare it to forbidden abilities, much like the ones your friend can use."
Clayf used the bottom end of his axe to tap the ground, activating an ability in the process. "Gate Building." He used this ability to steadily rebuild the area back to normal. The ground began to form various formations so that it lined up perfectly with how it was before weight started being applied to them.
"I'm sure you've experienced the feeling of putting your best effort into something and not being able to reproduce that effect afterwards. That's not a problem for you anymore. With the Advanced Fusion Ability active, you'll reach your limit and stay there. The good news about that is that you may be surprised at how far you can go. Blistering speed, knockout power, impenetrable defense, everything that you can do that can be done better."
After talking too much - knowing that he did more than he usually would, Clayf popped another question. "Nice job passing my test and all, but I have to keep you entertained until the grand final. What do you say to another round?"

The head scientist was very giddy about their next experiment. Nothing had changed. This would be the fourth Bakugan in their line of robots. While Slipstream and Macubass were cooler in what they did, this one took all of that excitement and made another killing machine. Boriates now had a partner.
"So you made this one all by yourself?" Xavier questioned. This would be the first time the head scientist took over on one of them, probably as payback for how Slipstream was handled.
"Yes, sir. I kept it a secret from you because I wanted it to be a gift."
"Really?"
"Trust and believe, sir. You're going to like this one. I think you or Dasia could have a personal bodyguard now. This one will be more than enough to protect the both of you multiple times over."
They walked together in their own personal laboratory in the Mother Palace. That's when Xavier gazed upon something so amazing that he couldn't form the words to express how he felt about it.
"You've created a planetary defense system/weather controller, a water purifier/abyssal predator, and a medical master/field marshal. They were made to fight for Vestal. I want this one to fight for you."
Xavier saw a Robotallion-looking humanoid-figure decked out in a highly adept power suit, fully equipped with resilient shielding systems, two scabbards that were likely energy swords, a small cannon on his back that can alternatively be used as a backup in a dire situation, and wrist gauntlets primed with munitions.
"What does the battle data look like for this?" Xavier curiously wondered.
"Gladion and Gorem, sir," he responded. "It is programmed to be a master of battle, enabling it to not only use its weapons, but also the environment to its fullest potential. His defensive skills would even make Jamal jealous. I call it...Subterra Dryoid."
A Bakugan containing Tank's data would be undoubtedly dangerous in the way it moved around the battlefield, but Allen's data along with it would surely mean that its menacing foothold will not be swayed by any force out there. Just how powerful was it though?
"You want me...to use this...in battle...?"
"I'd be honored."
"I've never been gifted anything before outside of my own family..."
"There's no other way I'd rather show my appreciation for you and your sister than to create something that'll protect your lives. You've looked out for all of us enough with the previous creations, after all."
Xavier didn't know how to respond to the level of niceness he was displaying. He didn't know why no one else he had on his task force was ever this dedicated and appreciative. He knew he was lucky to have him on board.
"Here. Let me show you a brief demonstration." Using his BakuMeter, the head scientist was able to remotely control Dryoid. He sent it out into the wild, the wide-open borderlands that lie just outside the city gates.

Dryoid digitized itself out of existence as its way of teleporting itself to the borderlands. This ability was granted to it thanks to Slipstream's satellite imaging of the planet, allowing Dryoid to link up with it to spawn where it was necessary.
It stretched itself out as if it were organic while its assignment was being uploaded. Its mission was to liberate one of the many cities the Hurranians had captured while Xavier and Dasia's parents were still alive. Echo City was its name. It resembled modern day New York with the complexity of Baltimore's streets. There housed the largest buildings on the planet. It was originally the corporate capital of the world until the Hurranians came back. Gamma City's destruction may be the reason why Dryoid is being tasked with taking it over. They could spread their resources back into the city and expand their businesses even further, which means more power for them to wield.
Boriates could've done this job itself, but the reason why Dryoid was doing it was because it'd be more careful in blowing the city up. That's the area where Gladion's battle data came in handy. It wasn't about explosions, but precision.
Dryoid's method of transportation to Echo City would be by its super speed, its thrusters on its back providing that extra burst of speed. Every Hurranian in the area was marked by Slipstream. To make it worse for them, Slipstream made it storm in that area so that the clouds would mask Dryoid's appearance a little bit. It scaled a tall building to look over its competition: Axostrikers on patrol, Manion's in the sky, Bolcanon's camping around every corner, Lasermen-enhanced Robotallion backing up the Axostrikers, and, worst of all, a Wilda and Nemus being the governors.
Xavier saw that overlook from Slipstream and got extremely angry. That's because he recognized those two Bakugan. They belonged to his parents. How could he not? The head scientist saw this, so he didn't say anything about it. The best they could do was make sure neither Dryoid or Slipstream paid attention to anything else until every Hurranian in that area was taken offline for what they've done.
Dryoid charged the cannon on his back to shoot an orb that hovered right over their heads. It dispersed to send heavy shots in all directions. Slipstream covered it by sending an electric arc downwards from space, electrocuting just one Manion before it latched onto others as they got within close proximity. Dryoid then jumped off the building and charged its thrusters so that, upon release, it'll ground slam to crush a few of its targets. It instantly unsheathed its gauntlet blades upon landing the successful blow and used its speed to rapidly assault multiple units while not being able to be hit by them.
To slow Dryoid down, a Manion came over and used its curse ability to send numerous Hurranian-filled locusts after it. In the likely event that it hits Dryoid, it will take over his circuitry, or so they thought. Dryoid's frame glowed in a bright red color as each locust hit it, showcasing the strength of its shielding. Dryoid responded by using its gauntlets as cannons and rapidly bursting the Manion down with concussive bullets. By that time, every Axostriker, Robotallion, Bolcanon, and Manion converged on it. All Dryoid had to do was condense its power into its power suit and release that energy surge in all directions, killing all of them instantly. Unfortunately, that type of move required a recharge period for Dryoid as the steam from its suit seemed to represent that, but it was okay. It only applied to certain techniques that expelled energy, which Dryoid doesn't do a lot anyway.
What wasn't okay was that it warranted the attention of Nemus and Wilda. Along with them came Xavier's mom and dad who were digitized right in front of Dryoid for Xavier and the head scientist to see.

Dryoid's sensors were not detecting any movement from either of them, but it knew to be cautious. Those two were the strongest Vestals before their deaths, so heavy resistance was to be expected.
"Which one of you is behind that Bakugan?" King Richard said out of nowhere. It seemed like he knew it'd be Xavier or Dasia. When that was heard, Xavier jacked the controls of Dryoid to take it over.
"It's...Xavier," Xavier hesitantly answered.
"Never ceases to be a surprise. I knew you'd eventually work your magic, but I didn't think it'd be that good. You're shaping us up to be one of the strongest in the universe."
Xavier sighed when he heard his father sing his praises. "You can thank my best friend for this design, but you do know what this power is supposed to do to you right now, don't you?"
Lauren knew where X was going with that statement, and it was unavoidable. She'd want him to beat them, but then again, they knew they'd see him again anyway. They'll just keep coming back as long as the Hurranians want them produced. "We wouldn't want to have it any other way," she accepted. "So how has everything been going? Are the Spartans treating you well?"
"There's the usual bruises, blood, and broken bones in a war. That's all I'm going to tell you in your state." It broke Xavier's heart to want to dismiss his parents like that, but they were in Hurranian hands now. If he gave away too much information on the Vestal's condition to them, the Hurranians in its entirety would know about it and see that they're vulnerable with the Spartan breakdown. He couldn't compromise them all just because of a family reunion.
"I see...I respect that from you. That's one of the reasons why it should've been you..."
"Lauren!" Richard was obviously unhappy with her revealing her disagreement with how the throne was handled after her death. Her saying it didn't make the situation any better.
"It's not a promise if it can't be broken."
Richard became a little tense after hearing Xavier imply that he was a liar. He never wanted Xavier to feel that way about his decision. It hurt him a lot inside. "Y-you ARE jealous of her, aren't you?"
"That's usually the card that you activate when you're prevented from using accountability," Xavier countered. "At least I notice some transparency from the both of you now that you're in front of me with nowhere left to run. It's a shame it took death for you to get that one right."
"Xavier, this doesn't have to be a constant battle between us. We love you! We were only looking out for you!"
"You should've made that decision long before you died in battle and left us alone. Now you're stuck in that loop for as long as the Hurranians continue to exist."
With a very quick draw, Dryoid pulled up its gauntlets to shoot two arrow-shaped projectiles out of them. They struck Wilda and Nemus. Aside from the general pain that comes from the impact, it weighed them down, making them slower and unable to move around by their conventional methods. Richard and Lauren weren't concerned about that disability. Dryoid's visor started to glow in a bright red color, signalling something fierce about to come from it.
"That's how it's going to be with you from now on? You're going to hate us?"
"I respected you both enough to fulfill your wishes in your absence, and I will continue to do so because those things involve protecting Dasia and the Vestals. That's all I care about. Any other hint of positive feelings for anything else associated with you has been diminished."
"...Xavier? Really?"
"I see. Very well then. I prefer for you to take all of that anguish out on me as opposed to your sister in the form of deliberate insubordination."
"That's already above your standards of turning your back to your own blood. I never turned my back to Dasia. And you know what? I never will."
"I don't believe that for one second. You're my son. I know what you're going to do in the end. I guarantee it."
Xavier glared at Richard and started issuing commands for Dryoid. He exploited his parents' refusal to declare an attack by switching its cannon into sword mode. It grabbed it and sheathed the energy sword in preparation for battle. Nemus and Wilda chose to combine an attack by instantly charging a large energy seeker and amplifying it with light energy to obliterate Dryoid in one shot. Instead of slicing the attack in half, Dryoid unsheathed the sword, used its self-produced gravity to make it float in its hand, and then rotated it out in front of it. Its feet were anchored to the ground by nails that were under its feet. Its thrusters also activated to provide a firm resistance to any blow. When the attack came, it was absorbed into the rotation and had its devastation tripled, more than enough to do to them what they tried to do to him.
"And she's my sister. She's all I got now. It won't take me anything else to see the value in having her."
"You sure proved your point by the way you treated us right now. She's more special than we are. It was to be expected, but it won't last forever."
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"If you didn't get what I was implying, then you'll just have to learn the hard way, just like us guys always do. Oh, and by the way, you're going to see us again, but I'm going to say this to you now so that you think about it. Your talents were above that of a king. You know that. You also know that nothing you've accomplished so far by your own hand would've been possible had you been on the throne. Life may place you in places where you need to be instead of where you want to be."
"Just like you are now...strong, independent, and caring for your sister, however she may be right now..."
Dryoid launched the attack back at Nemus and Wilda to destroy them and their owners without a trace of them left in the area.
"...He's right. She's really...you must let go now...even if you say you don't want to..."
Dryoid sheathed its sword back on its back once the fight was over. The clouds cleared and the sun shined down on the abandoned city. It'd take some cleaning up, but the Hurranians weren't there to ruin it anymore. The Vestals were free to migrate on over.

Xavier was very furious after annihilating his parents. He closed his eyes and took a few deep breaths to try and calm down, but that didn't seem to help. The head scientist understood his anger, but what the late king and queen said disturbed him greatly.
"Sir...I mean no disrespect by asking you this, but what if they're right?"
Xavier slowly turned his head towards the head scientist as if he was betraying his trust. Just by asking that question, he did himself a great disservice.
"What...?"
"I'm not in any position to jump on their bandwagon and say that I know a lot about you and what you would do in certain situations, but what I heard bothers me. She's more special than they are? He said you'll eventually betray her, then she says that you need to let her go and implies that something is a bit off with her. What does that even mean when they're Hurranian?"
"...Chris, listen to me very carefully. First of all, what we heard and what we're talking about right now stays between us. Understood?"
"Yes, sir."
"There's a possibility that they're just trying to antagonize us to lower our guard, but in the event that they're not..." Xavier didn't want to believe he was really talking this way about Dasia, but in this current predicament, they had no choice. This type of information could lead to their deaths if handled improperly. "We're both going to the hospital right now. We're going to get a screening to see if we're infected or not. If we are, we're fucked. If not, we live just a little while longer. If we confirm that we're healthy, we need to check Dasia regardless of how mad she gets at us. I'll take the heat for it if it goes south."
"You do realize I'm going to get hurt anyway, right?"
"At least think like you're going to make it...gosh..."

YITA AILEEN NYX Hao "Spartan" "I've cut security," Yita says as she shuts her mini laptop after hacking through the Silver Knights alarm system and such, placing it in her hoodie before mounting Neri. "Time to get rolling." The haos duo remains there for a moment before Yita looks over to her older sister who was snoozing on the filthy ground.
"I'll get her." Neri sighs as she walks over to the snoozing tomboy, clasping her mouth on the back of the hoodie and flinging Niko onto her back, behind Yita. The darkus brawler had a hard fall on the back, shuffles around a bit, then falls right back asleep. "I'm so glad that Donovan isn't an actual bakugan and more so a spirit of sorts." The cat mumbles as she turns around to the now vulnerable entrance.
Yita hums in agreement while Neri begin to make her way into the Silver Knights Headquarters. "Good call, or I'd be squished on your back."
As the small trio (or quartet if you include Donovan) race down the hallways of the building, not being attack strangely enough. Neri was glad about that, but couldn't help but to wonder if her partner was behind this. "Yita, I know this makes my job easier but why are there so little guards advancing to get me?"
A fixed escapes the said girls lips. "Dead beat here is actually useful. For once I'm glad about that putting random people to sleep thing. It putting just about everyone around her to snoozy land." Yita then points her finger forward. "I smell Noland that-a-way! Lets go!"
And they make a beeline to the direction Yita pointed in. "I'l continue to watch over my darling."

To the well organized mind, death is but the next great adventure
After making a deal with the mysterious masked person and making a short explanation to Alex so he wouldn't try to kill the person Maria entered the Silver Knights' HQ with them. "Huh... Mmm..." Maria mumbled after entering. What she was in the lobby was a bunch of Knights and maintenance workers sleeping on their chairs or on the ground; basically everywhere.
"They're sleeping on the job...is this US Presidency or Silver Knights?" Maria asked wondering why everyone would be asleep in the middle of the day like their shifts were finished long time ago. Hydranoid was in her orb form and was looking around before coming to a conclusion. "I smell two Spartans...females. Also, a Bakugan and... some other creature..." Hydranoid said after a short inspection. Maria grabbed Hydranoid and made a few steps forward with a smug smile. She was glad that she would finally have her own little workout after Alex chased two other Spartans away. "Hehe...I know who they are... Come on, Hydra." Maria replied gladly and started walking slowly forward and then stopped turning back to Alex and the masked person.
"You two will wait here in case something else worth the attention comes around. Meanwhile, I will take little girls out of the HQ." Maria said to Alex and masked person. She was quite happy that her opponents were these two specific Spartans for various reasons.
"I answer terror with terror."

Listen to howl of our souls "Fine, fine...whatever..." Alex replied to her request. He was not very happy with how things were playing out; Spartans just crawling around and in their HQ like vermin. He assumed who those two Spartans might be; probably the crazy one and her sister looking for someone who is somewhere, but definitely not where they are looking. Then something crossed his mind. "Wait, wait, wait a second... Last time you 'took someone out' of here I was the one who had to clean that up. If you're gonna make a mess again call your Grim Reapers, I bet they'll be delighted." Alex complained knowing how Maria usually behaves in some situations; talking like she would do the most simple thing in the world and then complicate it. He recalls her trying to make herself dinner in one of many kitchens in HQ and again Alex was the one who had to clean all that up.
"And one more thing... You siding with people so easily might get you killed one day. I ain't telling you what to do with your life, but you know what I'm referring to. This doesn't feel right... Anyway, have fun with the girls and remember... don't make a mess, Admiral..." Alex said annoyed a bit by Maria's behavior. She had a serious attitude many times, but the way she would side with people was very dumb in Alex's opinion. Enemy-of-my-enemy-is-a-friend attitude of hers was not doing well with Alex.

The masked person eyed with Alex with personal disgust over their previous confrontation and how he's reacting now given what was said to him. He/she didn't really care if this Andersen kid trusted him/her or not. There was a much bigger issue than him/her.
"I thought you would have had the courage to tell me directly that you didn't trust me. I am right here in case the mask was blocking your view," he/she mentioned. "Don't worry. I don't find you very trustworthy either since I know what your body has on the inside. I'm quite shocked she hasn't killed you herself, that's if she hasn't seen what I've seen. But who should care about one another's darkness if we have to work together to win against an enemy that would otherwise be unbeatable? I don't if you don't."
That was a complete lie. He/she still had the memory of that Dark Hole Phenomenon etched in his/her brain. There was no way that kind of power could be trusted, not in a million years.

Listen to howl of our souls "Oh, good to know it was a mask all along." Alex replied to the masked person. Alex was concerned with the methods of his superior; it bothered him that someone would side so quickly with someone as suspicious as that. Maria was always jumping from strict to carefree attitude, but this was a new one even for her.
"If you have a problem with my suspicions feel free to complain to the superiors. It ain't my problem what you or any outsiders thinks; like I'm not already used to people who don't trust what they don't understand." Alex said deciding to end it there. Not even he knew what the hell happened there with that darkness, but he had a pretty good guess with it. Not long after he had a a painful reunion with his parents he met a strange man whose presence felt weird. In that man's presence Alex felt completely empty and strange and that very same feeling he had after Dark Hole Phenomenon appeared. Could it be that those were related?

YITA AILEEN NYX Hao "Spartan" "He was here." Yita hums with a smile, hopping off of Neri and walking towards the bed her knew her to-be lover was in. Niko was asleep still, which made her inspection much easier with no snarky comments.
She walks over to the bed and runs her fingers along the fabric before bringing the fingers up to her nose and taking a whiff. "Ahhh, missed him." Yita takes the Noland-scented blanket and wraps his around herself. "It smells go good!~"
Neri looks away in- well, awkwardness to say the least and walks towards the door to stand guard. The feline was actually creeped out by her partner's actions for one. But it had to have been expected if she carries a Noland doll around with her, practically stalk the internet for pictures, and even making her snoop around the place to keep tabs on Noland.
Yeah, she should have seen that blanket cuddling coming. After a minute or two, Neri spoke, "Yita, maybe we should keep looking for him? The knights may have just moved him somewhere else. If... his scent, is rather fresh, perhaps he's nearby?"
The girl takes one last whiff of the blanket before walking over to her bakugan. "That's a good idea." She says as she hops onto the back of her feline, the blanket folder around her like a robe. "Let's go, I sense him down there!" And Neri took off like a bullet, Niko's strange power putting anyone nearby to sleep to clear the way.
Yita's sniffing lead them to some strange area, one that she wouldn't expect for these people to keep Noland in. Neri stops infront of what seems like the entrance to the sector. "A... Quarantine zone, for the... Hurranians?" "I'l continue to watch over my darling." ► kaigra ◄

"Correct." Maria said as she sneaked up behind Yita after emering from corridor's shadows. She knew the place like the back of her palm and it did not take a genius to know where would Yita be located. Maria wanted to test something out, so she simply passed near Yita and typed something into the keyboard on the padlock.
Padlock beeped and Maria made a few steps back and looked at Yita. "Your nose stands correct. He is among the crowd." She said. What she did was removing three seals on the door that were preventing the door from being opened by any force. Fourth seal, left alone, can easily be broken by a Bakugan of Neri's power. "All it takes to be with him is to break in, but..." Maria stopped there for a second.
"...are you ready for the consequences?" Maria asked curiously. Perhaps Yita was just too excited with finding Noland's location that she could not realize the danger of breaking in there. "If you break in you, your sister, me...and everyone inside and outside will suffer the infection from the horde. Yita, I think you know what this infection does to a person...is opening this door really worth it?" Maria inquired and then her voice went mild as she tried to explain a bit better.
"I know you love him...but do you respect him as well? If he said he didn't want you to open that door would you respect that? Or would you barge in? Do you think your love, one and only Master Blaze who fights for justice and good in this world, would be happy with you if you got yourself, your sister and the rest of us infected and perhaps killed for his sake? I don't think he would, Yita. He would be very sad and you know that." Maria tried her best to explain Yita what was going on. It did not take a genius to realize that; it was common sense and Maria was trying to lead Yita to the right decision.
She then made a few steps back again just in case. "But I can't make that decision for you. You can open that door or stay here. I won't stop you, but think about what I said before you decide, Yita." Maria said and awaited for Yita's decision. She was getting ready for a possible attack from the horde.

YITA AILEEN NYX Hao "Spartan" Yita noted how Maria took a few steps back as she undid that sophisticated lock thing that kept the door shut. "This is the real deal then." She murmurs, fiddling with her ace card for this trip in her pocket.
"You're talking to someone who knows Noland very well." Yita scoffs, looking at Maria before looking back at the door that held back a deadly force and possibly her beloved. "I'm also well aware at what's at stake." She draws out a card from her hoodie as she spoke. The girl glances over to Neri who nods in response and quietly approaches the door with her actions set in mind.
"That's why I regret nothing. Ability activate, cipher."
Neri's body was engulfed in a blinding white light.
.
.
.
When the light dimmed, it was revealed that the door was not touched with and Yita had a grin on her face. Neri was no where to be seen, though there was some kind of aura floating around the place that resembled the wavelength of Neri's. "Gotcha!" She chirps in a playful tone before looking at Maria. "I'm not an idiot, there's no point of releasing them if I'm gonna die from it. Be glad you aren't dealing with another pyrus brawler I know, he doesn't have the brains to think all this through."
