Episode 34: Will Attack

Right before Niko could leave, she heard something interesting. Tank was activating another ability? But the battle was already over, and she had made clear who the winner is. Was he really going to rub in his victory by adding insult to injury? She was about to snap at him again, but was taken by shock at what she saw.

The girl blinks a few times to register what had happened.

Niko could see the world again, and it wasn't through Donovan's vision.

The said wolf manages to get back up to his legs and slowly makes his way towards Gladion, spotting the bakugan even if he was now a tiny ball. The darkus bakugan lays in front of Gladion, his dual colored eyes gazing at the ball. He was tempted to reveal their plan, saying that he didn't have to go back in time just to bring him back, but refrained from doing so. It may become useful in the future for deception. "I don't only deliver nightmares." Donovan raises his right paw and waves it over Gladion once. A trail of white, sparking sand fell from his paw as he did so, stopping once the motion was completed. "He'll be having good dreams during his rest." Donovan says before looking up to Tank, "You two are connected, you'll be feeling the effects as well."

With that, Donovan gets back up and walks towards Niko, limping in his steps. Once he got back, Niko tenderly brushes a hand on his forehead. He was aware his partner had her vision back, and was quite glad about it. Now she could see reality rather than basing it off dreams. "I thought I'd never get it back," Niko says, brushing her fingers over an eyelid. She looks around the stadium. First the ground of where they battled, followed by the vast amount of people. It wasn't evident on her face, but she was feeling skiddish at the amount of people around the place. She looks as Tank with a genuine smile. "Thanks."

"Maybe... This could finally come to an end."

Tank's popularity and overall character may have gotten an unexpected boost for what he just did. While not entirely doing it for the sake of sparing himself from the public's ire, Tank did what he did to reinforce what he had said to Niko earlier about going through pain.

It was easy to think of how he was behaving early on in his senior year of high school. Comparing the incident with Noland to healing Niko of her blindness after what happened during the battle spoke volumes of how much he had truly changed.

"I remember thinking I'd never do a lot of things after some drunk asshole ran me over," Tank mentioned. "I may not fully understand what it means to be plagued by nightmares, but I do know that dreams are precious to us, so much so that it can make or break us. I don't know about you, but I just try to believe that things are going to work out for the best. It's not too late for you to do that too, and believe me. I and the others behind me know what it looks like when it's too late. Take a good look at Doctor whoever when he shows up again and you'll see what I'm talking about."

"So don't give up. You're connected with your Bakugan as well, and he just said he doesn't only deliver nightmares. Use that feeling you have at getting your sight back and try to experience that feeling again. That's how we move forward."

Niko took most of what Tank said to heart. How could she not, he is the one who had cured her of her disability and bright sight back after so many years unseen. "Happiness and relief..." She says slowly, trying to find the words to express her without breaking into tears of happiness. "I haven't felt those since... I thought..." She fades off into her thoughts again. It's unknown if she cut herself off to fade into her thoughts for a second, or to keep herself from saying too much.

"Eventually. Not yet though. There are still some things I have to do before moving on." She says in a voice softer than her previous tone of voice. One that was more fragile for the topic she spoke of still felt like walking on shattered glass. "But... The time will come. Soon." She gives him a small nod of her head as she looks towards her exit and walks towards it.

Donovan looks at the Aquos duo, an appreciative rumble coming from his throat. He too dips his head and bounds off after Niko, bouncing into her hand as she closes up into a ball.

"Maybe... This could finally come to an end."
