Speaking of Damian and Helios...
The surface of Vestal was scorched where he was. Piles of Royal Guard bodies littered the landscape leading to Charlie Town, Damian and Jamal's hometown. A small eruption took place over there that sent lava across their bodies, burning them until there was nothing left. Underneath where the eruption took place, Helios was standing in the core of Vestal, bathing in its blistering embrace while he was training.
"Drago..." Helios growled. "I...will have...my vengeance. I'll burn you down to the last scale!" His roaring caused the planet to rumble. That was the least of everyone's concern though. What was problematic were these Royal Guard soldiers. There was a reason why Helios was destroying their bodies.
Damian was sitting by his childhood friend, Ebony. He was constantly evaluating himself while she looked at him.
"It's still bothering you, huh?" she asked. Damian did not make an attempt to answer that question. "You should try to look to the next battle now. There's nothing you can do to change what happened. You've been humbled now, so work even harder to surpass him."
"The Royal Guard isn't here for me..." Damian admitted.
"...Huh...?"
"You are their target, because I lost. They're coming to kill you. Didn't you feel or hear all of the commotion going on at the outer rim?"
"I thought that was the usual training you were doing..."
"I wish it was just training. They're infected too, so it makes me even more sure that you are on their mind. They want to learn how to recreate the disease that you have for their own evil agenda. That can't happen, because I-"

"...because you love her?" Familiar voice comes from the near. Quick and loud stomps begin to thump around the buildings and suddenly a giant bull emerges, jumps and lands not so far from Damian and Helios. On bull's back sits Deon with his regular douche facial expression, half in mockery and half in surprise. He stares curiously at Helios silently mocking him and his brawler for losing and getting out of the arena with their tail between their legs. He can barely keep himself from saying it out loud, but now it is not time for that anyway.
"Quite an occasion." Deon exclaims with obvious mockery in his words. "Who would have thought that big and scary Damian actually holds feelings for someone. I'd find it touching if it wasn't so disgusting." He says referring to what he thinks Damian was trying to say. He then takes a quick look at the destruction Helios caused without commenting on any of that- it is already clear how and why that one happened. He overheard plenty things they said- Royal Guard sure will give them a bloody 'hello' once they find them. Damian can protect his friend, but... for how long? That is the question Deon has in mind.

Damian turns around in disgust. He knew who that sounded like. Out of all of the times this guy could have shown up, he chose the moment when Damian really wanted nothing to do with him.
"You think that's funny?" Damian asked in a threatening tone. "I'm surprised you're even still alive. It seems that the only times you appear is when you want to annoy someone."
Cracks were forming on the ground near Deon and Tyre. It was Helios coming back up from the planet's core to the surface. When he stuck his head out, he wasn't very pleased with who he saw.
"You again?" Helios asked in bewilderment. "Man...they really are scraping the bottom of the tier again. What do you want? Here to make fun of me?"
"More importantly...are you here to arrest and/or kill me?" Damian inquired. Ebony loked at Deon directly. She had a concerned look on her face, not wanting Deon to act on those desires if that was what he was sent there to do. "I figured you'd be here for something, but at least then you'd be useful."

Deon goes silent for a few seconds before replying to that. Damian is a pissed-off prick, like always, and he cannot really take a joke on his account no matter what it is without getting pissed and attacking someone. Such good leader Spartans are stuck with- he is as reliable as a grass sword when it comes to teamwork.
"That was the plan." Deon confirms Damian's suspicions before he goes on to say more. "Our Queen ordered that personally, but considering she is the one that killed Roxy I feel like she has become a bit... just a bit... suspicious. So I decided to change my mind about it along the way." Deon explains himself. He is not particularly fond to follow orders of a Queen who is ready to kill any of them at any time when she feels like it. After some time she will turn on him as well and he will end up the same way Roxy did. Only a complete fool would take that sort of risk. Deon then looks at Damian and continues to speak. "Oh, yeah, that is the highlight- Roxy is dead, yes." Deon exclaims and his tone darkens a bit as he says it. "Does that excite you? I mean, you made her look like trash and you considered her to be trash instead of a teammate. Guessed news of that 'useless woman' dying would make you happy." Deon says recalling numerous moments in the past where Damian treated Roxy as if she was just a thing and he did not give her a bit of respect in any situation. If he considered her to be so useless and a waste of time guess he would be pleased to know that she died.

Damian's entire demeanor changed when he heard the news. Ebony's was equally as concerned. The only difference between their reactions was that Damian wasn't surprised that it happened. He never liked Dasia anyway. He knew something like this would happen. It was only a matter of time.
"'Just a bit suspicious,' huh?" Damian responded.
Ebony walked up to Damian and turned his head in her direction. She was not pleased to hear of this behavior. "Is he telling the truth? Did you treat this woman like she was trash?"
Damian sighed. He knew what was about to happen to him now, but he barely cared. Roxy's death was disturbing, and Dasia being the one responsible for it made him sick to his stomach. He felt like he had wasted enough of his time being a Spartan already. Now that he knows that all six of them were dispensable to her grand scheme, he didn't know what to do now.
"I never paid her that much attention," Damian answered, preferring to indirectly confirm that he did do it rather than outright say that he did.
"All of that power you have...it went to your head, didn't it?"
"Ebony, please...not now."
"Don't you 'Ebony, please' me, mister! You were already the leader! Why did you have to act so tough? That poor girl. You should be ashamed of yourself! Didn't I tell you not to bring your home into the palace? You know better than that!"
"Gee, thanks, 'Mom.'"
"Enough with the courting quarrel already," Helios butted in, somewhat agreeing with Deon. "What I just heard sickens me. I now have an even greater reason to use very violent tactics against her. I'm eager to rip her open."
Damian faces Deon once more with a changed attitude. Love Roxy or hate her, what Dasia had just did had to have an answer, one that is even more grievous than her act against Roxy. "No...that doesn't excite me...not at all..." he answered. "I'm guessing you want to do more than make me feel like a jerk and possibly apologize to all of you. It's not like you to go out of your way to speak to me like this. What's going on right now?"

"Heh, I have no time for that. Besides, your future wife is clearly capable of that on her own." Deon replies sarcastically to Damian with a smirk. For the first time he can see Damian being so uncomfortable and it takes no genius to understand why. Power definitely got into his head, but it is a good thing there is someone who can dig him up out of that crap. Even Deon, who does not really care much for all this philosophic crap, but he knows that the best way to ruin even the best and most-humble person is to present them with power, fame and money. Not many can resist temptations of the dark, but there is always that one person that will guide them to the light.
"Now... there isn't much time." Deon says. "Jamal is fighting Dasia as we speak- this marks our war for Vestal. And we are not to stand here and chat much longer- Jamal needs our assistance in Alpha City." Deon says and then Tyr turns around slowly walking towards the direction these two came from. Time to go and fight against this madness has drawn near and they cannot allow a second to go to waste now. Deon takes a turn towards Damian once more. "Jamal said that we need you as our leader because you are the only one among us who can stand up to Dasia and Kyuki. I cannot deny his words are true." Deon informs.

"I know that's right," Ebony said, fully agreeing with Deon about her being able to keep him in check.
"Hmph...whatever..." Damian brushed off. He watched Deon preparing to leave, but his last comment was very intriguing. He actually agrees with that statement about him being the only one out of the remaining five that can do that?
"Damian...you are going to help him...right?"
"...I'm thinking about it..."
"You're kidding me..."
"What's going to happen to you if I leave?"
"Good question..." Helios concurred.
"Hey, Deon. Let me ask you something," Damian said to hopefully stop him for a quick second. "Jamal can take care of himself for a long while. What about you? You're supposed to be this hotshot that can take on entire regimes and end attempted regicides against Dasia. How do I know that wasn't a fluke? How do I know that I can trust you to actually do your job?"
It sounded arrogant coming from Damian, but he was being very serious with his questions. This is someone who lost to Seiki of all people. How does Damian know that he isn't weak? Is Deon hiding his strength? Has he been trolling the organization the entire time? Who is he, and why does he suddenly care about getting Damian's help now?

All those questions could be summed up to one: "Can you survive?" It was justified to ask all those questions considering Deon's past and present- always painted as some skilled brawler of the sort and then shamefully defeated by supposedly the weakest Resistor there is- which would make him weaker than weak. No one has ever been able to see Deon in his true light. Battle against Seiki in the tourney, where he actually won, was not only the result of him doing rigorous training, but shutting his emotions behind a wall so all he could see Seiki as would be 'a target' and nothing more or less- something that needed to be struck down. However, that is not the end of what Deon is capable of, but most things that differ him from others when it comes to skill are also not necessary to use unless he is absolutely going for the kill.
"Heh... good question, indeed." Deon lets out a silent laugh as he reacts to Damian's question. He then takes on a serious expression. "Whatever you decide my decision will not change- I know who the enemy is now and I know what to do with that. I still have a fallen comrade that needs to be avenged, so I cannot turn back whether you decide to or not. My mind is all made up." Deon explains his thoughts regarding the matter. Even if Damian and the rest of the Spartans give up fighting Dasia, Deon will stay and give her a taste of his power until one of them collapses. Even though he does not care for many people he has some loyalty for his teammates in that view that he would not allow their deaths to be unavenged and in vain.
He then gives a confident... and a bit wicked smile to what Damian said before replying. "You wanna know if I can do my job? I could always tell you."
"On the other hand, I could show you instead. Actions speak louder than words, but it's up to you which one you want to see." Deon sarcastically says. He implies that he is certainly hiding a surprise, but does Damian want to spoil it or he wants to enjoy the fireworks once it is released?

Damian couldn't stop himself from giving Deon a smile back. Deon must have said something right for Damian to acknowledge him. "Good response," he accepted. "I'll give you the benefit of the doubt for now. Just know that since you're asking for my help, none of you get to complain about me being the boss again. We're not throwing each other under the bus, at least not for right now."
"Damian!"
"Kidding. I'm kidding," Damian retracted. "Tsk...women..."
"You better hope you show up big this time. We're all going to have some problems if you don't hold up your weight," Helios threatened.
"I think it's hilarious how you're now aiding in something you stopped from happening a while ago," Damian noticed. "Ah well. It's for a good cause. While we're on the topic, here's my first command. Go find those ladies and push them our way. They're a bit slow, if you know what I mean. You just might have some luck with them. You got me to help. That's an accomplishment."
Helios strapped both Damian and Ebony on his back. "Yes, you're coming too."
"Good. I just knew that you wouldn't leave me for dead here," Ebony excitedly said. "Now, Damian. I expect that you'll be on your best behavior..."
"Deon, you and I are going to have a talk later about this. Look what you've done. You got me in trouble. Not cool, man. And one more thing. She's not my girlfriend!" Helios started flying away in Alpha City's direction. "If they take too long, leave them! I want to see those skills of yours!"

Glad to see Damian got motivated for real this time, Deon nods in agreement with a wicked smile on his face. Now that this is settled the time to wreck that stupid excuse for a Queen draws very near and Deon is going to enjoy every second of it as Tyr crushes every bone of hers and of those mechanical creeps she owns. That will definitely give them a memorable moment of what happens when you commit such bullshit and expect everyone to run with tails between their legs. Deon was not kidding about his powers either- now that he has an actual reason to use them he does not have to hold anything back- he can go and blow up half of the planet to destroy Dasia if he has to. One way or another, she is going down and he is going to make sure it happens.
"Whateeever you say..." Deon sarcastically replies to Damian's denial.
"Heh, if they wanna stay back fine by me. That just means I have to destroy for three people." Deon confidently replies at what Damian said. And he is not joking on that one either. The more the merrier, but if there are not enough people just make it look like there were- nuke half the planet with a flying bull. Subtle tactic.

The Fifth Paladin lined up in a straight-line formation in front of the mechanical Bakugan. They positioned their shields out in front while keeping their lances low to the ground.
"Ability activate! Allure Plate!" The Fifth Paladin was very powerful on defense, but their offensive abilities complimented that attribute very nicely. This ability would show why.
The purple diamonds on their shields shone in Tec's direction. As long as this was done, the Fifth Paladin could pull Tec inward as long as they wanted to. Once Tec was within striking distance, they could collapse on him, and then pull him in again and again. They could abuse this tactic, because their shields will guard against any form of frontal attack.
"Fun fact. Did you know that Barodius nearly defeated the Master Blaze and his father with this ability before the Iron Juggernaut and Noland's whore shot them in the back?" Dasia asked.

"Noland's whore? Really? And I suppose you're jealous because she got a man?" Jamal dissed before playing an ability. "Ability activate! Heavy Metal!"
Expecting shield bashes to create a big staggering effect on Tec, Jamal went with his basic defensive option. Tec's body gleamed in a shiny brown. This represented the increase in durability his body provides. Additional provisions of this ability lied in the reaction time buff and speed in deployment his fists would receive from this. He couldn't use his fists while the Fifth Paladin was using their ability, but he could do something that would be more effective.
"Here's another fun fact for you. I don't care," Tec responded. When he got struck by the Fifth Paladin, Tec didn't flinch or move backwards all that much. What he did do was get his hands on one of the Paladin, pull them in, turn them around, and bear hug it. He was now using it as a shield against incoming attacks, not like he needed its help in the first place. The rest of the Paladin and the mechanical Bakugan were now under the same stipulation.
"Guess we're in the same situation now, aren't we?" Jamal questioned with a smirk on his face. Something was implying that they truly weren't.

"Jealous? Do you even realize how many men that are in the database right now? I could do anything I want with them. I bet there are more of them there who can actually get a girl in their combined tries than the amount of failures you've had in your life," Dasia dissed right back.
"Ability activate! Geothermal Rush!" Diablo powered up via geothermal energy. Tarry, black smoke started rising out of the ground and slithered around the field like snakes. They could easily get around the Fifth Paladin's ability and burn through Tec from any direction.
"This ability is from Helios. I reckon you'd want Damian to come here and save you," Dasia wagered.

Seeing an ability like that was troubling for Jamal, but he wasn't scared. There was a reason why he was the only Spartan Damian considered worthy of training against. He was the answer to Damian as Allen is to Noland.
"Nah. I'm good, but the sad thing is...you need Helios' abilities to stand a chance," Jamal countered. "Ability activate! Propulsion Boost!"
Tec's fists, rings, and boots flashed on and off briefly before being fully immersed in this energy. This increased the thrust behind the propulsion in Tec's body. He will utilize the destructive powers of this ability in a second, but first, he needed to get clear of this fiery disaster.
"Going up," Tec announced as he rocketed himself up into the sky. "Coming down," he then said as he rocketed back down to ground pound the space within the enemy's vicinity. The force from this ground pound crushed the member of the Paladin that he had in his grasp. It was also powerful enough to repel the Paladin and the mechanical Bakugan, separating the two groups with the Paladins' backs being exposed.
"One down, the rest to go." Tec launched both of his fists into the sky. He aimed one one of his cannons at the Paladin and the other at the mechanical Bakugan.
"Double ability activate! Target Fist plus Heatblast Cannon!" Jamal knew that Dasia may have defensive options available for Heatblast Cannon, so he used something else that would get them in case that happens.
Tec charged his cannons as if it were a rocket propulsion sequence. The enemy forces would find themselves incinerated by the large and wide stream of energy that was launched from those cannons. Additional pain came in the form of fists that Tec designated to slam the areas of both enemy forces. Due to the propulsion boost, these fists were undoubtedly meteor-grade punches that would likely decimate the enemy even if they are not hit by the actual punch.

Dasia was clearly disgruntled that there were fists raining down from the sky. If it weren't for them, Jamal would have been erased by Dryoid's reflective ability. In this situation, she didn't know which ability was more threatening to get hit by. It was more than likely that someone was getting hit by one of them. She knew that the Fifth Paladin were safe though.
"Not bad, for the second best loser," Dasia commented. "Double ability activate! Plate Harrier plus Odin Shield!"
The Fifth Paladin assumed anew formation with their remaining four combatants. Two stepped out in front and shielded the other two. The rocket fire was split down the middle and trailed along both sides of the shielding. The other two waited for Tec's fist to come down before they chose to defend, because they did not want it to suddenly alter its descent a little and get them rocked anyway. When they decided where it was going to land, they hoisted their shields above their heads and had them expand to cover the entire Paladin. The punch made a substantial mark, since it produced a great enough force for them to feel it; however, it did not succeed in breaking their guard, and the fist was ultimately repelled.
On the mechanical Bakugan's side, Boriates projected an energy construct with the same shape as the oval-shaped horn on its head. It launched this toward Tec. This produced a similar result to what the Fifth Paladin were able to achieve. It split the fire down the middle so that the mechanical Bakugan would not be affected. Once it reached Tec, it latched onto him. It started lifting him up into the air and pulling him towards the mechanical Bakugan. They were intending for Tec to be the one punched by his own ability before they are hit by it.
"Let's make you a little uncomfortable while we await its descent. Ability activate! Murasame Wave!" Dryoid's pistols flashed in a brown light. He took aim at Tec and repeatedly shot him with energy trails that traveled in a helical pattern. These projectiles can go through solid matter at will and damage anything that it travels across as if they were struck by it for real. This is how Dryoid's shots would bypass Tec's body and hit him internally.
