Episode 44: This is Sparta

[Yita Aileen Nyx]

A small giggle, "Of course." She hums, not minding at all she was essentially a shield for her dearly beloved at this point. Anything for him, he even allowed her to stalk him. It was certainly a negative connotation, but she didn't have the heart to correct him.

"Oh Yashu. I finally finished this." Yita says as she pulls out a small ball of data from her watch that she always hid under her sleeve. She drops it on him and he was engulfed in a small light of light orange. Then the bakugan was revealed to have a much more different form, a more masculine one than the previous form. "Finished it while waiting for the program to finish," She hums, happy of her new work . It wasn't her taste, but it would certainly please Yashu.

A happy sigh came from the feline as he does a small twirl. "About time."

"Now Yashu can do well on his part to protect you." She hums, not minding the glare she had received form Yashu from for the most part, calling him a tool.

[Noland Hardy]

Noland nodded in acknowledgment of Yashu's change in appearance. It suited him. If Noland was the one using him in battle, that's how he would want Yashu to look. His power was also pleasing to Noland. He gauged his power level while Yita was making the modification. He gave Yita a rare smile for this, because he genuinely felt that this was the person he wanted by his side for what was about to go down.

"You better, because if you don't, the planet's wasted," Drago strictly enforced.

"We'll make it," Noland reassured him. He leaped on top of Drago's back to get prepared to take off. He looked Yita in the eyes and said, "Stay close...as close as you can get..."

Soon, the fiery duo went straight through several walls rather than taking the formal way out of there. The situation demanded for him not to care about destroying even more of the building. Yita and Yashu were close behind them, which was something to note, because it showed a considerable speed increase from them. They were going so fast that Noland didn't bother to say anything to Allen, Alana, or even Alex when he saw a blurb of them and the three Bakugan he sensed. Drago did troll his doppelganger - yet another one - by brushing his tail across Prometheus' face. Signs of a fire started there just by him doing that, and it was threatening to engulf Prometheus in his entirety and eventually spread if it were allowed to thrive.

(Countdown: Phase 1)

The quartet arrived outside after Drago smashed through the final wall.

"We should've dodged what Admiral Asuka's Bakugan was fighting. We're in the clear as long as they don't magically jump us," Drago promised.

"That's good. Full speed ahead," Noland urged. He then started looking around him, glancing left, then glancing right. He did this twice before mentioning something. "Drago, there's two huge power levels coming from behind us, and they're coming fast."

The identities of these Bakugan became clear when the two power levels floated right beside them.

"Greetings, Drago. It's good to see you," Lars Lion greeted.

"Lars Lion! Clayf!" Drago alarmingly accepted. "Thank Vestroia that you're here! Where's Apollonir?"

"He was supposed to make sure we aren't doing what you're going to do now," Clayf mentioned. "I guess some things happened, so what I'm about to do is cause some things to happen too."

"I see... So you're after IT too, Drago? You're getting very strong now," Lars Lion instantly recognized. "It's good that you've secured yourself a healer already. Now I can solely focus on fixing Clayf's back problems. What a team we'll make..."

"Hey! I'm going to go all-out here, so don't get exhausted too quick on me. When the BT System is out, there's no excuse to walk away pain-free. It either hurts, or it doesn't count."

"Sure. Whatever you say." Lars Lion's eyes shined brightly as she prepared herself. "Let's go, Drago. We'll be fighting together this time."

"Sounds good to me," Noland gladly welcomed. "You all know what to do, so let's just do it!"

There is practically no work left for Prometheus. After Virus gave Alex and Lydia a torture-therapy he just made Prometheus's job a lot easier in finishing this. Alex is clearly hurt judging by numerous cuts and bruises on his body and it is a real miracle that Lydia is still alive with that massive cut on her chest and other wounds on her body. One hit is all it takes to put them to their graves, but knowing how annoying Lydia can be if she is left to live and prepare support abilities Prometheus decides to take her out first by slashing and cutting her into little bloody pieces. That should not be very troublesome knowing that she can barely stand, yet try to avoid his attacks. He even ignores what Drago did to him moments ago. Fire is the most ineffective attribute to fight Prometheus with- resistance to it is probably 99,9%, but Haos would do a fine job. Too bad Dante is the only one there capable of using effective Haos.

"Voltage Blade!" Prometheus roars. 

Both his claws charge with electricity from Valiant Strive's Haos attribute. He leaps towards Lydia with fiery boost on his wings that gives him insanely-high speed. Just crashing into Lydia would kill her, but kill needs to be confirmed with a tactic a little more brutal in its nature. Girl does not even get the chance to plan her resistance and Prometheus is already right above her with both his arms in position to land the final kill.

"That failure is useful for something at least. He did not leave me a lot of work here. Now, DIE!" Prometheus yells and slashes with both his arms.

Prometheus did not waste any time there.

He went for the only potential healer on the battlefield. Not only that she is a healer, but Alex's sisters as well, which made him very pissed about how Prometheus wants to play that game. The moment he saw him jump forward Alex inserted a completely white card with a ruby in the center into the gauntlet. Ruby released its mesmerizing crimson glow causing Alex's new gauntlet to transform- covering his entire left arm now. "Transformation access granted! Valiant Strive!" Alex shouts while Dante's body becomes surrounded by red streams of light. Dante does not waste any time either, but jumps in between the attacker and Lydia in case transformation does not make it in time.

"Ability unlock! Voltage Blade!" Alex calls for same ability, but does not insert any abilities. With this new upgraded gauntlet combined with the transformation card activation time is much shorter and all abilities are activated through the transformation card.

It does not even take three seconds- red lights surround Dante and mass up hiding Dante inside a giant red orb. Orb cracks and disperses into countless flaming and electric sparks revealing Dante in his Valiant Strive form. Just about as he leaves the orb two giant electrified claws head right for him. With a single flash of lightning Dante's Thunder Sword appears in his hands and he thrusts it right towards Prometheus. Sword clashes against the claws and waves of electricity are produced by the impact. It causes ground to shake below all around the Headquarters. 

"GET BACK!" Dante yells at Prometheus and performs a powerful spin-thrust with the sword pushing Prometheus back several meters. Then he charges into the enemy with the sword and blades clash once more doing the same effect as before. Neither Dante or Prometheus advance- they just try to prevail against one another in that one spot. Dante is immune to all copied Valiant Strive abilities that Prometheus uses, but Prometheus is also immune to Dante's while using copied Valiant Strive. Situation looks dire. "Damn it... this doesn't look good. This bastard might be even stronger than Virus's final form... One time that I need Jason and Thomas and they're not here... no damage, no healing, no nothing whatsoever." Alex complains inside his head at the dire situation. Nothing would make him happier than seeing mentioned comrades now- with that combination Prometheus would not stand a chance despite what form of stolen power he might pull. Jason's Bakugan does high damage and is excellent support and debuff-user while Thomas's Bakugan is all about high damage and scary debuffs. 

Alex takes a short gaze at Alana and Allen and their two Bakugans. Aside from him, they are the only ones capable of fighting these things and living long enough for reinforcements to come and rescue them. They already look like they had a major battle against someone, so they are not at their full strength which is a minus in this situation. Alex never talked much to them either, so he does not know what kind of brawlers they are and what would be appropriate cooperative tactics to use with them. At least with Mighty 5 and Silver Serpents he can use 'pre-made' strategies they have developed during training sessions. "So I have to rely on help of strangers... nice. Well, they ARE praised a lot wherever they go... at least I can have faith in that." Alex thinks hoping that his assumptions on two Resistors' popularity are not wrong.

"Hey, listen. You've heard what miss Hydranoid just said, but... we need to try and defeat them- if these things get out of here alive they'll just pose a bigger problem later on. Do whatever it takes to weaken them and, most importantly, STAY ALIVE!!" Alex gives an order to two Resistors in a strict tone. Hopefully nothing will happen to them... one way or another Alex could still survive because of what kind of being he is, but that does not mean he should allow others to get killed.

"Don't hope much, human. Crushing you all will be highlight of my day." Atlas comments on what Alex said to two Resistors. Now that Prometheus is in a clash against Dante, Atlas and Nightwalker need to jump in to fight Gorem and Hydranoid. Since Atlas was based of Gorem, Tec and Ferrum Dragonoid his defenses are nearly impenetrable without ailments and debuffs. After giving it a second to think Atlas turns to Gorem and jumps in the air. Wicked energy begins to form around Atlas's body very quickly marking the beginning of a new ability.


"Titan's Fall!" Atlas yells with his rough voice.


Out of nowhere, rocks and steel begin to form above Atlas. They start massing up and eventually form a giant rock filled with tons and tons of steel parts. One hit from this would not be so severe if it was just rock, but with the steel included Bakugan hit will definitely feel that for a couple of days. Atlas points at Gorem and giant rock charges at the target on its own at alarming speed. Gorem should either go for avoiding or using something defensive- despite how powerful this is, it is still not powerful enough to breach through tough defenses. But that is just a warm-up for Atlas. 

[Allen Silva]

" i hear you loud and clear Alex. Take out fugly asap." Allen summed up what the silver knight had said, throwing in a few of his own words for good measure. Atlas's first move could be bad if he took the attack head on, but Allen was a lot smarter than that. And once the attacks were launched, he had the ability he wanted prepped and ready to go." Man, these new abilities are getting a workout. Ability activate. Rebound revolter. Lets see how you like this."

Gorems body was enveloped in the absorbing material from the ability. So instead of the objects crashing into him, they lost thier kinetic energy once coming into contact with Gorem. After they had all stopped, he released all of the gathered power in a blast aimed straight for the mechanical abomination.

" you have to do better than that. I mean, no chance we were bailing out so early in the game." Allen taunted the bakugans first attempt at defeating them. He probably shouldnt be doing that, but Allen couldnt help himself." If you could just get beat by that though, i would appreciate it tremendously. Thanks."

Hydranoid was scowling when this Gorem knockoff started underestimating him again. That was becoming a pet-peeve of his. Certain Silver Knight Bakugan think they're all high and mighty because they're in some organization, and these terrorist-grade Bakugan think they can do the terror thing better than he can. He had enough.

"We'll make this quick. They're not even worth my time," Hydranoid boldly declared. Alana was about to get down to business.

"Heard," Alana said in acknowledgment of Alex's concern. He had a reason to be, because he had never seen them fight up close and personal. She didn't care that much about giving him an introduction. Whatever took all three of their enemies down in a quick fashion was all anyone was going to get.

"Hydranoid!" Alana's signal gave Hydranoid the command to execute his Phantom Transmission, an ability from his pre-evolutionary state that was integrated into his base form now. "Ability activate! Alpha Eraser!"

Hydranoid left a puff of dark aura where he once was. He showed up at Atlas' back. Before the rebounded attack hit Atlas, Hydranoid was going to do something to him and Nightwalker. A swirl of battle energy revolved around his body like an annoying fly flying around a human being. It grew in mass very quickly. Upon it being released, a river of translucent dark energy rippled straight through Atlas and Nightwalker' bodies. Hydranoid then gave Atlas a slight nudge with his right hand, pushing him straight into the rebounded attack.

"My bad, ya'll. Just following orders," Hydranoid kidded around. He then looked plainly at the Valiant Strive users. Without looking at Nightwalker, Hydranoid deployed his miniature heads to wrap around Nightwalker's neck. This prevented him from breathing. The same would soon happen to Atlas. After he was hit by Gorem's blow, he was surprisingly clothes-lined. This didn't make him any safer from Hydranoid, as once the hits collided with Atlas, it cracked the front portion of his armor, and Hydranoid's miniature heads went right through there to grab ahold of him and slam him on the floor face-first.

"Those special quirks of yours sounded very interesting. Too bad I don't really care about them," Alana shrugged. This was the basic point of the Alpha Erasure ability. It removes any supernatural ability possessed by a foe hit by this attack. This was an incredibly short-ranged attack as a penalty for this power, but since Hydranoid is already fast and can teleport, who really needs to worry about range all that much? Atlas no longer had his high durability and Nightwalker was exposed.

As a sign of disrespect, Hydranoid looked at Dante. He pointed to him. He then positioned Nightwalker on top of Atlas. He then pointed to Prometheus, and then pointed down at Nightwalker and Atlas as he lowered the former onto the latter's downed body. Without speaking, he was really asking Dante to have something large fall on top of them. He wonders who that could be...

[Alex Andersen]

Dante and Prometheus find themselves in a difficult position. They can hit one another, they can push one another or throw one another, but as long as they use Valiant Strive damage from all those actions equals zero- it is only a matter of stamina; the one who runs out of stamina will lose control of Valiant Strive and be vulnerable. Problematic thing begins when Prometheus's transformation coldown ends and he gets a chance to activate additional mode- Switch Code or Third Layer. When he fought Lydia, Andrea and Sylvia he immediately activated all three modes- some research has shown that it if he battles for long enough before activating any of those they will have no coldown. 

"Now..." Alex says under his breath and looks at Prometheus. "So you're the monster Lydia told me about? Monster that can use all three modes at once... This is perfect." Alex says to Prometheus. "...perfect chance to show your creator how BLIND he is." He yells

"One mode. Three. Hundreds. The more you have the better the trophy once you fall like EVERY SINGLE 'overpowered' freak who thought strength matters when you face us in death battle." Dante says to his opponent and then smashes him in the face with the tail.

Red gem on Alex's gauntlet turns blue. Flames colored in blue surround Alex. Blue fire seems to come in a stream from his left eye to the point where his eye is not visible anymore. His body becomes completely engulfed in blue flames. "Dante!" Alex shouts- his tone of voice has significantly changed and became darker and more rough than it normally is. "Got him." Dante says and slashes at Prometheus with his sword. The moment Prometheus blocks with his claws Dante uses his tail again to smash Prometheus in his lower body making him kneel. Dante quickly charges his wings and takes off leaving Prometheus to kneel on the ground what gives Alex a clear shot.

"No damage from Valiant Strive? No problem. Purgatory Flame!" Alex does not even make any specific movements. The moment he calls for it his body produces blue flames on its own. Flames charge at Prometheus and engulf him entirely. Several seconds pass and Prometheus's body turns dark-green for some reason and his charged claws and tail go back to their original color- this signifies that Valiant Strive has been stopped by force. "You are monster. Unfortunately for you, I am too." Alex says. This is the first time he revealed that kind of power in front of Resistors- power that can cancel out a transformation. He does not use that power when battling an ally- which means that in death battle he could keep spamming this and canceling others' abilities and transformations letting Dante to exploit that.

Dante lands on the left side, near Prometheus. He prepares his sword and then thrusts at full power baseball-style slicing Prometheus's right arm and nearly severing it. Force of the impact sends Prometheus flying and land on top of the pile that Gorem and Hydranoid made. After this Alex's body proceeds to change even more- skin becoming gray, hair turning blue and more threatening feeling coming from his body. "Was saving that for you creator, buddy. His turn will come soon." Alex says to Prometheus. Guess he does not care anymore if people see his power- with so many things going on doubtful anyone will care about a mere human fighting like a Bakugan.

Prometheus was sent flying by Dante.

He crash-landed directly on top of Nightwalker and Atlas.

Being the largest of all six prototypes he packs quite the mass and falling on top of two monsters, of which one is twice and other ten times light, certainly will not end well for someone.

Nightwalker is normally immune to physical damage, but that is unless someone cancels that immunity- leftovers of Alex's flames on Prometheus's body spread over both Nightwalker and Atlas making their defense and resistance overly fragile and not canceling, but destroying Nightwalker's defenses for good. Even if he was to live after this he would never be able to defend himself against physical attacks. This kind of combination made two prototypes entirely useless and allowed Prometheus's mass to get better of them. The result is Prometheus crushing both of them in a second.

"Kid... go fuck yourself!" Prometheus replies to Alex. His wings become surrounded in crimson flames and spread it across the body removing Alex's blue fire.

"You won't be bullshitting your way out of this one." Prometheus threatens as his flames become bigger and furious- they quickly begin to spread across the room. "Could have just died peacefully- guess you want it more painful and violent." 

His flames gain a bloody-red shade that signals usage of Third Layer in this state. With Prometheus Third Layer is actually the strongest mode because it gains strength directly from his wrath- his mental state was altered so he cannot stop feeling wrath at whatever he does. Due to that his Third Layer is more powerful than his Switch Code or Valiant Strive. Both of these other two modes cannot be as strong because they are normally fueled by positive emotions and bond between a brawler and his Bakugan, plus they are both of divine origin and no copy can be as convincing as the original. "Now burn in hell!" Prometheus angrily yells. Fire around his body explodes and releases a giant fiery wave going in all directions in form of area-of-effect attack. 

[Allen Silva]

Alex switfly used Prometheus to destroy the other two machines in one blow. " jesus. I would feel bad about that, but they are kinda the bad guys. What do you think Gorem?" Allen took a passive agressive shot at the remaining machine Prometheus.

Gorem, who was also almost awestruck at what just happened, only answered with a shrug at first, before he was able to collect his words." I still feel a little bad. All that trash talk and they go down like a sandcastle. Guess he didnt have enough me to survive it."

The duo's tone almost pulled a 180 after Prometheus used his own third layer. Thid was the same form Helios used to almost beat Drago. Allen had a feeling that this one wasnt going to be any weaker. Then, the robot unleashed a flame wave attack intended to hit all of them at once. But not if Allen had anything to say about it. And spoiler alert, he did." Slow down there cowboy. Ability activate, plight of the martyr."

Gorem used his bracers to form a sattelite dish of sorts. But this one didnt attract radio waves or any of the sort. Instead, it forced the flame wave to converge on his position. More acurately it was the dish they were moving to, but with Gorem behind it, he was in the line of fire.

" i got you pal. Ablity activate, vicious counter."

This ability was a oldy, but a goody. Before the fire connected with his plight of the martyr, Gorem blindingly rushed to behind Prometheus. He then swung a haymaker hoping to deal some sort of damage, so Alana and Alex could get in their own attacks without concern.

All of a sudden Gorem appears behind Prometheus.

His attack makes contact with the giant monster releasing a loud thump sound. Due to the force put into it Prometheus leans forward a little bit, but no significant damage or change was made against him. He slowly regains his balance and comes back to his feet ready to attack the present opponents once again. Angered by the fact that they still live Prometheus releases a powerful roar that is not ability of any sort, but its force pushes three Bakugans several meters back. It is the power of Third Layer, after all, so it is no wonder that Prometheus can do such thing- it makes it painful to imagine how powerful his actual abilities and attacks will be once he chooses to unleash them. And he still has Valiant Strive and Switch Code waiting to be unleashed from his arsenal and when that happens all his opponents will be able to do is either run, hold out until support arrives, or just die. 

"Switch Code activation!" Prometheus growls. His left set of wings and right arm start to glow crimson and are surrounded in bright flames similar to Drago's.

"You might have taken it down, but thanks to the Switch Code it will not be long before it is usable once more." He says.

All three opponents can notice on their gauntlets that Prometheus's strength began to rise very quickly and by high value reaching an alarming level. At this rate his strength will be way higher than of all three opponents combined and he will not need two dead prototypes to aid him at all in this destruction- he will do it all by himself. "Let's see how long you will last now."

[Alex Andersen]

"We cannot let him make us of both modes at once." Dante says. His wings charge up with Haos energy he as a booster while flying. With that boost he rams into Prometheus pushing him a few meters back which makes him lose balance for several seconds, but nothing significant since the power of activated modes gives Helios one hell of a defense against any attack- especially physical ones. It is only a matter of time before he reactivates Valiant Strive and makes all of Dante's efforts useless in this battle. They must take him out before he manages to completely exclude Dante from this battle. "Then let's do something about it." Alex replies and points both his palms towards Prometheus. Blue fire begins to generate in front of Alex in form of a giant blue fiery orb. "Purgatory Bomb!" Alex yells and fires off the blue orb towards Prometheus and in the same time he activates an ability for Dante. "Ability unlock! Valiant Slaughter!" This ability makes Dante's sword charge with lightning and Haos energy which makes sword edge even sharper than it used to be giving it power and sharpness to decapitate Prometheus the moment Purgatory Bomb deprives him of both modes he used.

The moment Purgatory Bomb hits Prometheus both Switch Code and Third Layer will go down until flames of the bomb are put out. Dante will use Valiant Slaughter before Prometheus manages to put out the flames and then slay him. Except for the fact that none of this is going to happen.

It does not seem neither one of them will give Prometheus some peace to activate all three modes and murder all of them very quickly. That's a shame, but it was to be expected anyway. And, just as Prometheus expected, that Alex kid was going for the same move as before- the blue fire that canceled Valiant Strive. It would undoubtedly, cancel both Switch Code and Third Layer at the same time and allows Dante to slice through him with that sword like through butter. He could not afford all that charging up go to waste. "No, you won't!" Prometheus yells and releases a powerful wave of flames in all directions along with an ear-piercing roar. "Madness Flame!" Waves of fire worked instantly in a way that they dispersed the orb coming towards Prometheus, shut down Dante's power-up and pushed everyone a few meters back once more.

"Come here! Sinful Arm!" Prometheus yells and points at Alex. For some reason Alex's body begins to move and then levitate on its own- like he was possessed. Alex is then pulled into Prometheus's right arm.

"Enough of your bullshit, kid. I may be a monster and an artificial life form, but I ain't that stupid to fall for the same trick twice. Let's see if you can play those tricks with your bones turned into powder." Prometheus says with rage in his voice that Alex attempted to do the same thing as he did with Valiant Strive. It was utterly foolish to believe Prometheus was that stupid to get hit by the blue fire again after seeing what happened last time. Even he has that much of a brain to know it will do him no good letting that hit him. However, Alex may use that at any time, so in order to permanently secure that no one will cancel the modes again the primary goal is to kill the one using that power. "Say hello to Atlas and Nightwalker for me!" Prometheus says and begins to crush Alex in his right arm that is now filled with the evil energy from Sinful Arm. Flames begin to rise around Dante as well which would slow him down from attempts to aid Alex and will probably do severe damage. Fire cannot kill Dante that easily, but it sure can slow him down.

Alana began to think about this scenario for a second. Theoretically speaking, Prometheus could become unstoppable at some point, because the Switch Code could do more than just decrease the time it takes to regenerate the Third Layer's G-Shield. The Switch Code could make the shield even stronger, and if Valiant Strive comes into play, then even Alex wouldn't be able to counter that all on his own. Luckily for them all, Alana and Allen have experience with using come-from-behind tactics. For some reason, they're both underestimated far too often.

"Hydranoid, no pressure, but we need to act fast or he'll be WAY stronger than you," Alana informed him.

"Can't happen, won't happen," Hydranoid scoffed. He pushed himself back towards Prometheus as the disgusting creature was about to put Alex out of his misery. He sprinted towards Prometheus from behind.

"Thanks for the diversion, Alex. Hold on," Alana cheerfully told him in order to intentionally make light of the situation. It was out of concern that anyone would get stressed that made her respond this way. It was a stressful situation, but Prometheus didn't need to know that he succeeded in getting all of them worried.

"Ability activate! Pulse Head!" Hydranoid shouted with all three heads to blow a powerful gust of wind towards Prometheus. It took on the shape of a transparent Hydranoid head. It struck the bastard in the back. Alex and Dante were affected by this attack to a minor extent, because they happened to be in the vicinity of an attack that doesn't discriminate; however, they have nothing to fear, because they would benefit from being tagged.

What this technique will do is cause an irregularity in the target's power level. The previous usage of this ability was when Hydranoid fought Neri during their rematch. He throttled her power levels high and low to where her body couldn't handle the stress of it all. Unfortunately, Prometheus was a much bigger threat, so a different approach would be necessary. What Hydranoid did was throttle Prometheus' power level high enough to where he would feel very uncomfortable with the overload in energy.

Doing this made Alex and Dante's situation worse since Prometheus' powers were undeniably boosted by this tactic. Hydranoid made sure to boost Alex and Dante accordingly, but refused to do it in a harmful way.

"Hey, Allen..." Alana moved beside him and whispered something into his ear.

Prometheus continues to crush Alex in his right hand.
Grip loosens a bit after the attack because he concentrates on what had just happened. Prometheus growls in an annoyed tone and then makes fun off the young brawler and her three-headed abomination. "Thanks, retards. Saves me a whole minute of charging up myself." He mocks with an arrogant tone that begins to turn demonic. Cloud of darkness and red aura surround Prometheus as he turns towards Hydranoid and Gorem ready to turn both of them to ashes now that Alex and Dante are not any major threat at the moment. And his coldown for activation of Valiant Strive is close to coming to the end.


"Armageddon Flame!" He yells.


Wild flames begin to form around Prometheus's body. He becomes coat in flame and waves of fire start spreading through the area threatening to incinerate Alana and Allen as well as their Bakugans. Alex, thanks to his enhancement, resists it somehow, but it will break him soon- it will take several seconds or so. They need to do something quick or they'll all get turned into roasted meat.
