Episode 44: This is Sparta

[Noland Hardy]

Dasia reappeared in the skies of Washington, armed with her baby: the Bakugan Termination System. The atmosphere became very dark. The activation sequence destabilized the atmosphere, causing unintentional weather conditions to spawn. The combination of all six attributes had power that should be respectfully feared. This situation was no exception. Diablo was gesturing the poor souls on the ground to praise it, as there was nothing they could possibly do to stop the Hurranians now. All Dasia had to do now was find somewhere to plant the device. 

A key detail to take into account was that Dasia activated the BT System within the confines of the CIA hidden base, meaning that the clock was ticking prior to her coming outside. If someone intended to alter the target or miraculously stop the BT System from firing, they had less than ten minutes to do so. The Legendary Soldiers on the surface - Oberus, Lars Lion, Clayf, Excedra, and Frosch - sensed that the BT System was in their midst. Even though they were occupied with their own enemies, they all nodded in unison that their intervention was needed immediately. 

Someone who could make that more difficult for them happened to be disturbing Maria, the Andersens, Allen, and Alana in the Silver Knight's HQ. Dasia had sent him a mental reminder that she was in possession of the BT System and that it was getting ready to fire. Knowing this, Kyuki intended to make his business with Daniel short.

Kyuki reaches both his lab coat's pockets and takes out three Bakugan orbs. In his left hand he hold two orbs; one is pitch-black with dark-purple decorations that look like all-seeing eyes connected to Illuminati. Other one has earth-brown orb without any decorations and no specific details that would differ it from any other Bakugan orb. In Kyuki's right hand lies an orb colored in bloody-red color with dark-red scar-like decorations and tiny golden crown-like decorations. Upon taking out his three weapons he tosses them all on the ground and calls out their names. "Stand! Prometheus! Atlas! Nightwalker!" 

Red orb flashes releasing bloody-red helix streams into the air that connect at one point and explode. Flames are produced by the explosion and from it Bakugan is created. A giant dark-purple dragon whose appearance straightforwardly reminds of something that villain would have. Prometheus- Bakugan created using Drago's, Helios's and Dante's data. He kidnapped Sylvia, Maria's sister and fought Misfortune 13 and survived.

Brown orb flashes and a giant rock pillar emerges from the ground where it once stood. Pillar shatters in an instant and a giant Bakugan emerges from it. This one is called Atlas- Bakugan whose power was created from data of Gorem, Tec and Ferrum Dragonoid. He is, along with two other present Bakugans, one of six hybrid prototypes and he is a tank among the six. And finally, the most-horrifying Bakugan. His orb does not even flash- it just disperses into shadows that reform into a horrifying monster. This is Nightwalker- creature brought to life using data of Donovan, Gargulion and Hydranoid- only among Kyuki's six prototypes that does not include Silver Knights' or Eden's Bakugan. He is an assassin and not just any assassin- his status effects are something that every opponent is afraid of- plague, mental-torture and then bombarding enemies with high-powered energy blasts.

Kyuki takes out a black card with Nightwalker's face on it. "Ability activate! Mental Terror!" Nightwalker disappears in a second and appears by Daniel. Not even Virus can feel Nightwalker's presence... because Nightwalker is not alive to begin with. Dark hand emerges from his cloak and grabs Daniel by the head- pulse of dark energy passes through Daniel's body and darkness roots deep within his body taking hold of the 'chip'. Chip that stores all Virus's data and maintains its existence. Daniel screams in pain and even Virus's screeching can be heard coming outside of his body. And in a few seconds his eyes turn red and clouds of bloody-red energy begin to emerge from it... he does not resist anymore. "And now, you're gonna obey your creator, you failure..." Kyuki orders insulting Virus.

Before another word can be said Dante charges in towards Nightwalker to attempt and stop him from taking control over Daniel and Virus. If Virus is added to Kyuki's current arsenal it will be impossible to stop him. As if Prometheus was not overpowered alone they need Virus who can 1-hit defeat Valiant Strive. "Ability activate! Radiant Shield!" Alex calls out as he places a card into his new gauntlet. Old one was smashed by his 'father's' giant battleax when Alex tried to sneak inside one of Kyuki's laboratories. This new one, specially designed for high-ranking Silver Knights (Asuka's design) might allow Alex to use more overpowered and Forbidden abilities if it comes necessary.

With Radiant Shield activated Dante suddenly jumps and points his shield towards Nightwalker. Shield charges with Clear energy and fires off a beam of light towards Nightwalker. Result remains unclear as beam makes contact and creates an explosion that crushes nearby walls. After the dust clears Alex takes a better look only to face even bigger disappointment. "You've got to be kidding me..." Dante mumbles. Nightwalker is just standing there like he did not even get hit... maybe he wasn't hit to begin with... or maybe he defended himself somehow... Whatever it is it made Dante's attack as effective as throwing a stick at a tank.

Seeing what happens to Daniel's body now that Nightwalker did his thing Alex gasps. "Damn." He curses. Now that Virus is in Kyuki's control the best they can hope for is survive for long enough before Asuka finishes off all the Stigma and comes to aid them... but it is highly unlikely they will at this rate... Maybe Chaos Takeover could fight Prometheus and Atlas since it is more mobile unlike Valiant Strive, but what about Nightwalker? Maybe Alana and Allen could help Maria get rid of it. "What the hell am I supposed to do here...?" Alex says in annoyance.

Alex and Dante risked their safety by jumping blindly into the front line to attack Nightwalker. Now that they stand out they are the most-probable target for all Kyuki's tools. "What an odd creature..." Maria admits commenting on Nightwalker's appearance. It is quite horrifying alright, but Maria is not only referring to its appearance. "You feel it, too?" Hydra asks curiously suggesting something was off with that thing. Uncertain of reasons why this creature did not even flinch against Dante's attack Maria knows she cannot experiment to find out- she must get straightforward answer. And since Prometheus is among these three she knows that they are overpowered since three brawlers simultaneously fought it and lost... well, Andrea, Lydia and Sylvia are weak anyway, but still... So Misfortune 13 over 50% is the only option now- however, she might have to ask everyone to leave if she is to go for Forbidden abilities in this. It might not be necessary though.

"Misfortune..." Maria says. She takes out a deck of cards.

Hydra becomes wrapped up in dark energy until she is invisible inside a black orb. Orb breaks and thirteen heads emerge from it and after that the rest of the body. A giant hydra is unleashed once again. "...Thirteen." Hydra finishes. 

"Special Ability, activate! Devil Hydra!" Maria says immediately playing a Special Ability card. Hydra is now wrapped in energy of all six attributes. Energy bursts all out of her body and then a wave of darkness surrounds entire HQ. Kyuki feels it, Andersens feel it, Allen and Alana feel it, Noland and Yita and even Bakugans outside. This special ability allows Hydra to skip powering up to 50%, but instantly sets her to 51%. At this rate her skin gains dark-purple decorations. Her body begins to produce The Mist... entire room they are in becomes covered by mist produced by her body. Also known as Mist of Lost Memories, this is a passive ability that affects those who die in battle- their name, deeds and any kind of effect they have left in the world is erased once they die. 

And now that she is in this form Hydra can get the right view of the situation. "Crow-head is a ghost-type Bakugan... physical attacks will not be effective... weak against exorcist-type Haos attacks. Dragon has short casting time, but long coldowns on all abilities. Rock-monster is nearly immune to physical attacks, but it is weak against spiritual ones." Hydra explains as she monitors spiritual energy of all three enemies. This is her power in 51% and beyond- she can see critical data about other beings and see their potential weaknesses. All weaknesses can be easily exploited and Maria plans to begin right now- with Prometheus, who is the most-powerful threat. 

"Ability activate! Sodom and Gomorrah!" Maria calls out naming the ability she plays. This ability is exclusive to Hydranoids and can only be reached at certain points. For every Hydranoid it is different and for Zero Hydranoid it is to attain over 50% power in her Misfortune 13 form. Maria will supposedly use lots of these. All thirteen heads aim for Prometheus's upper body and fire colorful blasts surrounded by dark streams of energy. All hit in the same spot and cause a giant explosion over there. And then, suddenly, time of explosion returns and it happens again and again and again until it reaches 10. Dust clears and Prometheus kneels with his armor already cracked under heavy damage. "You are the one who came for Sylvia." Maria says in a dark tone of murderous intent. "Therefore, you should have privilege of dying in pain." She concludes planning to torture Prometheus.

"Fuck yourself." Prometheus replies to Maria. 

He rises once more angered by how quickly Maria got the upper hand against him. During her raid on one of Kyuki's laboratories Misfortune 13 looked more-or-less like a rag, but this time her attacks really pack a mean punch. Prometheus could not have expected such leap in power, but it is probably because Chaos Serum during the raid prevented Hydra from unleashing this much power. However, now that she is at her full senses, mad and ready for the kill Prometheus might be better off killing himself rather than fighting her, but who knows. But if he does die he will NEVER get revived due to Hydra's mist passive. "Valiant Strive, active!" Prometheus yells activating the first out of three transformations and it is Valiant Strive. Out of the three this one is most-effective at melee and usage of Clear attribute. 

Kyuki is the only one aware of the danger Maria put him into. This is worse than having a Doom Dimension card. At least you can come back from Doom Dimension. And this passive is just an a kill on several levels at once... if Kyuki is to die in there then nothing he ever created will work again and Fina will not be able to revive him anymore. While everyone is concentrated on attack and defense, expecting Kyuki to start fighting, he just does what he said he would do earlier. Dark-gray aura surrounds him and that happens to Daniel to. Daniel disappears and reappears at Kyuki's side. "Grand Blockade!" Kyuki yells. Atlas slams his fists together and a giant steel wall forms preventing anyone from seeing or targeting Kyuki or Daniel. "I said I came to pick something up. If you want to hit something I gave you three punching bags." Kyuki says. "Bring her alive once you're done. Now that Advent is in play I'd like to have a usable tool for negotiation." Kyuki orders to his three monsters referring to Maria and events that happened in Sahara some time ago where Kyuki met two people who have come searching for Maria and Sylvia. In this scenario, Maria would be a suitable hostage. "I'll be off, then." He says and forms protective orb around himself and Daniel. It allows them both to fly out of the room through the first hole created earlier by Dante.

And now he ran away. Perfect. Just perfect.

And Prometheus already used Valiant Strive so it is to be expected that HQ doesn't need self-destruction- all these assholes in there will just wreck it anyway and then Maria will be forced to live with Asuka. It is really not a good day. 

Certainly, she cannot let this idiot escape with Daniel. Since Daniel carries original divine power of Deathcrown Kyuki could potentially make something stronger than Virus. Virus was only an accidental creation and it killed so many people while Resistors were dealing with it. Good thing is that Daniel is only a human and no one can replicate the true power that is hidden in his body.

"Get out of my way, counterfeit." Hydra roars angrily. "Cage of Agony." She activates her special ability creating three portals- one under each of these three Bakugans. Numerous spiky chains emerge from those and bind all three Bakugans. Considering it is an elemental ability it still has effect on Nightwalker. Chains prevent opponents from doing anything for 30 seconds, giving Resistors and Andersens enough time to do something useful. And it also permanently decreases resistance against all attacks by 40%- effect still remains after battle and it cannot be removed or negated without an exorcist negation or divine power. 

The moment three get caged Hydra grabs Maria with her tail and puts her on the middle head. "You don't have much time. Hold them off until either I or Asuka come. Don't play heroes." She warns those who are left not to expose themselves to unnecessary danger. Knowing Alex and Alana's Hydranoid... that warning might have been ignored. Hydra spreads long wings that come in pack with M13 and then flies after Kyuki and Daniel. She shoots at the giant steel wall while doing so shattering it to pieces.

Drago nearly fell over when a surge of power emanated from his body. He was constantly glowing in his Switch Code coloration. Whatever was affecting him resulted in a very uncomfortable reaction.

Seeing this, Noland turned to his right immediately to check on Drago's condition.

"Noland...we might die here...for real..." Drago regrettably mentioned.

"Does it have anything to do with what's making you fall over?" Noland wondered.

"Yeah...my power is reacting to something... I've never felt it before...It's like a time bomb has been activated..."

"Time bomb...?" Noland and Drago looked at each other for a moment before both of their eyes lit up in horror. Not even Yita's antics could make him panic like this. He knew what they wrought now.

[Dasia Turano]

Dasia was whistling while the BT System was still moving through the air. Her indecisiveness on where to station this thing was annoying to behold. She had multiple units telling her to put it one place while others were telling her to put it somewhere else. It was a huge mess.

"Hmm...it's not like it really matters where I put it...or does it...?" Dasia adorably pondered. "I'm sure the Soldiers know that I have this, so...perhaps it is better to remain mobile, especially if Clayf or Excedra stops by."

Diablo screeched loudly. It was looking towards nine o'clock and found Kyuki coming towards Dasia. They must have been approaching very fast, since Dasia was not that close to the Silver Knight HQ where he was, or maybe he left earlier than anticipated. "So those three managed to survive that...? Hm..."

Either way, Dasia went into Kyuki's head to get some answers as to why a juiced-up Hydranoid was coming towards her. "I hope you're not planning on passing this bitch around."

[Prof.Dr.Kyuki]

"I don't care. If you have a problem with her deal with it. She is not MY concern." Kyuki disrespectfully says knowing that he could easily summon remaining 3 prototypes and make them stop Maria temporarily while he teleports away with Daniel. It is not like he is carrying around a giant weapon that needs to be protected from all sides and cannot be teleported to any safe point. Unlike with Daniel, presence of BT System cannot be hidden once it is active. Kyuki did have an idea of using BT System for something... it has nothing to do with Dasia wants, but there is still plenty of time for that to come into play. It would be bad if Legendary Soldiers blow it up before it can be analyzed.

"She is over 50%- don't waste your time trying to infect her." Kyuki refers to Hydra. Since Hydra's power over 50% gives her complete manipulation of everything in a certain radius, including her own body she has absolute control that cannot be thwarted. "And if you're lucky to see 100% I'd recommend you to search for another planet to shoot at." Kyuki says. He had never seen Hydra at 100%. Only Marshal and Asuka have. If he had to calculate then Hydra would have no problem destroying Earth herself if she wanted without needing to charge BT System. Just a different method, but same results and it can be repeatedly used. Just by going to 100% there should be some sort of distortion that could potentially damage 'something' around Hydra during activation. So if Hydra went 100% near BT System it might accidentally...blow up.

After giving it a second thought Kyuki turns back at Maria. "Hmm... On the other hand... I do need Advent's princess... It will not be long before they begin attacking as well. Having her hostage would prove useful..." Kyuki theorizes. Even though 'scouts' Advent sent are not strong enough to fight Kyuki alone it has to be taken into consideration that Advent is far more advanced than Earth and Vestal combined... They alone probably have weapons stronger than BT System... "... Black Hole Phenomenon..." Kyuki silently whispers to himself referring to something mentioned a long time ago. When Alex was fighting that masked person it occurred as well... it is not Alex who brought it here. It is Advent's hidden weapon. 

"If you're gonna use this hunk of junk go and do something with it. Holding it here is a waste of time and opportunities." Kyuki then turns to Maria again and readies to take out the rest of his arsenal and capture the princess.

[Dasia Turano]

Dasia was not too bothered by Kyuki's apparent disrespect. It was to be expected. He was a disrespectful son of a bitch who was more evil than her by any stretch of the imagination. At least he's willing to clean up his own mess.

"Right...that's what I thought you said the first time," Dasia replied, ignoring Kyuki's earlier banter for his sake... "By the way...My baby is impervious to any form of attack once it's activated. My only concerns are Apollonir and Drago since they are the only ones who could stop the weapon from firing now. Anyone else is fodder to me, especially now that my Diablo has been upgraded. Thanks to Drago's powers...I was able to assimilate the original Dragonoid's energy into its Switch Code prowess. I'm getting VERY close to becoming unstoppable."

"If you're a good boy...I might share it with your Diablo counterpart. How does that sound?"

Maria and Hydra begin to get closer and closer.
It would be wise to place some sort of defense out before they can use any attacks. Hydra's mist begins to spread even around Kyuki and Dasia. No matter than they both posses power to revive the dead if one of them dies in that, even temporarily, it's game over. That's a pretty neat system that Kyuki cannot copy. Not that he did not try. But some things simply cannot be replicated. He reaches for his pockets and throws out three Bakugan orbs that immediately activate. One Bakugan has an appearance of a Skyress, but with a bigger mix of dragon blood in it. Another one soon comes in and has form of a priestess with a long staff in her hand. And third one is a giant warrior with marks of Aquos attribute- somewhat similar to Gladion, but this one does not look like he will be using anything related to 'gods'. These Bakugans are known as Orion, Minerva and Pluto. Quite a diversity in names...


"Kill the Hydranoid and capture the woman." Kyuki orders to three creatures.


Orion flies high and flaps its wings releasing countless feather-blades at Hydra. Each blade additionally becomes surrounded in flames and thunder. Minerva causes all sent blades to glow intensely using her Boost effect that should double the effectiveness. Additionally, Pluto charges it. He draws his two swords and then swings at Hydra. These three are not as strong as first three, but their cooperative abilities are far higher and more effective.


"And what am I supposed to do with that shit?" Kyuki asks disrespectfully. Considering he still has Traqdrach and enough DNA leftovers from original Elysian Dragonoid and Deathcrown he can create another hundred. And aside from that, Fina has finally engineered the superior form of Stigma, The Walker. Kyuki does not seek power of any kind- he only needs it to fend off irritating Silver Knights who try to stop him. What he seeks is knowledge, scientific facts, to build without limitations of moral or law. Power these machines and Soldiers wield are not in his interest. "Your mommy and daddy would be proud of you. It's not every day that their child reaches a new level of ego. Just be careful not to jump from the level of your ego to level of your actual power... you might die. Let's see how long that confidence will last after two of those flying lizards make their appearance." Kyuki says in a dark tone not even trying to be sarcastic in the matter. But basically this is how it happens every time- someone comes to power and misuses it, but becomes overconfident and claims there is nothing that can stop them. That overconfidence just blinds the person of their obvious flaws in the tactic. 

[Dasia Turano]

"I'd wager my power and this ego you allege I have are equal. I don't know about you though..." Dasia pledged. She got more and more excited that her plan was about to be carried out. The other bit of excitement was how one might think that she's overestimating herself. Little did they know, all of the calculations have been done. The power level Diablo was on right now was not an exaggeration. It was tapping on godhood's door at the moment, especially with the BT System at the ready.

"Anyway...most of our enemies may come to me first before they get to you due to what this machine does, so...I'll take your advice." Dasia, Diablo, and the BT System became cloaked, invisible to the naked eye and unable to be detected by any radar systems. "Let me know if you need my help... Nah. You're not going to tell me. I'll just look through your eyes to see what you're doing. Good luck!"

Still invisible - but continuing to move higher into the sky - Dasia started to have thoughts as to how she should handle this situation. "Apollonir should be here any minute now, so...with my new Diablo 2...I can combat him on equal footing. Permanent Switch Code with a boost to all available combat systems. I should be able to use the BT System as a medium for our attack and defense as well... Hmm. Decisions, decisions...."

Drago punched the floor in frustration, unintentionally shaking the entire HQ. He was absolutely livid at what this meant for the world at-large. They were essentially on their final minutes.

"Listen, Drago. We can stop this," Noland assured him, placing his palm on his arm. "Apollonir proved that it's possible. As long as we continue to believe that it can be done, we're still in the green. Just hold your head up and keep your eyes peeled."

"I never got to grow up with him...for three centuries..." Drago grieved. "All because of this fucking weapon..."

Noland could tell that this was a touchy subject for Drago. He could assume that Drago was very disappointed that he was sent out of Vestroia all those years ago because some asshole decided to target the Bakugan to commit mass genocide. All of the times they could have shared were basically sent down the drain because of those villains. He could imagine Drago being WAY more powerful than he is right now if he had that opportunity with Apollonir to train.

Noland's eyes glowed before he returned his attention to Yita. He didn't want to rush her, but their time was literally running out.

"I'm sensing three power levels I don't recognize in here. They disgust me. One of them even has my power..." Noland believed. The three Bakugan Kyuki left behind were now on his radar. "Hey...Yita, I need to leave NOW or we're all gone. If that program of yours isn't finished, I'm activating the self-destruct. I need you with me."

Yashu sat beside Yita, he had healed Drago long ago back into tip top condition and was now keeping an eye of Yita. He was aware of her motives and such, this particular one he didn't speak of for it was one that he quite enjoyed as well. The haos girl hums a small happy tune to herself despite the chaos that stirred around them. "It's almost done Noland dear~ Give me 43 more seconds and we're golden!" She chirps before hissing softly as Yashu bats his sheathed paw at her.

"My gosh, please don't talk like that while I am around." The feline grumbles as he hops off the desk. "And hurry up. I don't want to die for a second time."

"Yes yes, I've heard you boys loud and clear." Yita says as she finishes her work. The program had wormed its way through, taking all the data and had placed it in the confines of the flashdrive that the girl now holds. As an added bonus, if anyone were to try to get the data, the program that Yita had unleashed would infect them, and that newfound data would be cryptically sent to Yita one way or the other. It was digital magic.

Of course, her ears never missed a word that came out of Noland's lips. "You said that... You need me?" A small smile appears on her expression, "And don't try to deny it. That's exactly what you said 63 seconds ago."

Noland scoffed at the implication Yita thought that he made, but he decided to go with it. If this serves as motivation for her, then he'd let it be. The only problem with that logic was that he'd have to answer for this later, assuming there IS a later to look forward to.

"Listen, the BT System has been activated. We don't have much time," Noland explained. "I hate to say it, but I can't stay here to defeat the three monsters I'm detecting. They're on their own. I need you, more than ever, to stalk me. Wherever I go, you go."

"Heh heh heh..." Drago chuckled. That bit brought some cheer back to him at least.

"I'm trusting you to keep me alive, no matter what. Can I count on you?" Noland proposed. It sounded selfish to place priority on his condition, but if either him or Drago dies, then it was an instant game over. The same went for Vince and Apollonir, wherever they were. Noland had never been more serious than he was now in asking Yita for this favor. He could only hope that she was prepared to leave people behind to do it.
