Episode One: Stirring Darkness

Excited would be an understatement of how I'm feeling right now. I am proud to announce the first "episode" of an epic journey presented by Merchant Atom and myself for now. This is the start of a legendary tale. The order will go as so: Me, Atom, Grimm, if you need to make a post using a different account, ex: Malcom, let us know in the chat box or pm.

Narrator-

Its been two weeks since the senseless attack on Grimm by the irrational mysterious new Negative Shifter Wu. The destruction him and his bakugan, Cusillu the 7th Earthbound Immortal general of The Destruction, caused quite a bit of chaos in the supernatural realm. A warrant has been sent out for the arrest of a "beast" man and a monkey "demon". Atom explained the situation to the officers, and after telling the story him, Ivan, Clate, Grimm, and Alice were all banned for a unfixed amount time. Six months to be exact. They were even forced to do little bit of time behind bars for the ruckus they caused. Despite all of the ramifications that followed something good did come out of it. For starters Ivan had regained the Twelve Orders thanks to Grimms help. However time is of the essence. The Negative Shifter has been tracked and is lurking in the Doom Dimension. Not only that an evil from Ivans past has come to the present his eyes set on the Twelve Orders as well. Where did this evil come from? What are their motives? Can they be stopped? These questions lingering on among those who stand for the side of good. We go now to the Human Realm as Atom and Ivan prepared themselves for whatever was to come.

"Okay Leo you ready?" Ivan called out. His pyrus bakugan, Leo the Blazebound Defender, let out a grunt preparing to spring into action.

The bakugan had a thin built body; with long shiny black hair that hung low at his mid section. His eyes burned with a tiny blaze as he prepared to attack. On the other side was Atom's Haos Leonidas, and fighting along side him was Atom his weapon(s) at hand. 

"Ability Activate: Magma Comet!" Ivan shouted. He inserted the ability card into his gauntlet. The gauntlet was gold in color and decorated with six different colored gems: Red, Blue, Yellow, Brown, Black, and Green. These gems represented the six different attributes of the bakugan. 

"Man, I'm loving this new gauntlet of mine!" Ivan exclaimed. 

"It took you long enough to get it." Kauis cut shorted. He popped open and floated next to his partners shoulder. He was laughing obnoxiously. 

"Why you, who was talking to you Mr.Hotshot!" Ivan hollered back comically. The gauntlets red gem began to glow as the ability activated. Leo held out his hand and a bright sphere of molten rock and lava bursts forth. It condensed and solidified into a round shape. Leo grunted as he launched the attack at Leo the attack gaining more power as it flew across the field. 

 

[Atom]

"Well Leo, shall we?" I asked.
"It would be a disappointment if we didn't." He replied. He changed into his Timeline form as the attack drew closer.
"Ability Activate!" I called. The ability appeared from my Bakumeter. I was using the one that I used way back in the Original Bakugan Reality, during the whole Mag Mel and Rak Taal fiasco. "Quantum Flux!" Leo held out his hands, and small ripples in the quantum field of the battlefield rang out. They crashed into the fireball, sputtering it out as it diffused. "Come on Ivan, think." I said. "You know you can't get us with raw, physical moves like that." My Attribute Wheel glowed. "Form Change! Pyrus!" Me and Leo glowed, him changing to a Pyrus Bakugan and my clothes changing to reflect Pyrus instead of Haos. He also changed into his Infusion Form. "Ability Activate! Weakness Infusion!" The orb Leo held glowed, followed by Ivan's Bakugan glowing. Nothing appeared to have happened, but we both knew the effects. "Halved attack power for you, and doubled attack power against you for the next two moves each. You remember, right?" I was really trying to push him to his best to prepare him. We knew that one of Destruction's ancient generals was awakened, and it was unknown if Cusillu was the only one. "If only I could access all nine of Leo's evolutions." I thought. "The extra strength from each of them could help compensate for the great gap in power between us and anything Destruction can throw at us."

Despite his attack being a complete failure; Ivan wasn't worried. He reached into his pocket for an ability with a giant smile on his face.

"Sorry Atom, but this time you fell for MY trap!" Ivan shouted. He set the ability card and a wave of red energy washed over his body. When it went away he was in his Pyrus Form Change form. His hair had a small flame that flickered off of it. He wore now a spandex-like suit that had a vest attached. The vest beamed with flames as well. His eyes had slits each one with a small flame that gleamed brightly.  

"Ability Activate: Fire Frame!" said Ivan. The gauntlet beeped. The red gem and Leo glows. Leo holds out his hands conjuring flames. They surrounded him in the shape of a square erupting towards the sky. He was now protected by a intense blaze. The glow Leonidas's ability placed inside of him shot outward. It smashed into Leonidas causing an explosion that sent a smoke cloud into the air. The smoke was thick, almost unbearable, but Ivan proceeded anyway, his target: Atom. He followed blindly into the smoke. His hair began to burn brighter, and the smoke slowly faded away. Ivan grinned mid-air. 

"Not only does Fire Frame reflect my opponents ability, but it also steals power from the opposing bakugan." Ivan explained. The smoke was now completely gone giving Ivan a direct line of fire to Atom. 

"And now you have to deal with me!" Ivan finished slamming his fist into Atom's jaw. 

[Atom]

I pulled the Ocarina away, standing behind the statue Ivan just punched. "Don't you remember that you can't attack me like that? I always have contingencies, like the Elegy of Emptiness." The statue broke away. "My turn. Ability Activate! Inevitability!" Even though Leo was still Pyrus, the ability activated. I felt the power change between them, and I figured everybody else could as well. "In addition to setting you to 0 Gs, I also get to loop a card. So, here comes a good classic of mine. Remember Chronogian? Time for a Recursion Boost! Reusing your Fire Frame against you, I'll just steal back twice as much power as you sent at me and reverse your Fire Frame, which'll return Quantum Flux back to normal." Ivan's Bakugan couldn't go any lower, so the energy didn't transfer, but the message got across. I grabbed my shield. "In case you decide to attempt punching me again. Remember, I'm not Grimm. You punches would likely break my bones."

Ivan landed on his side of the arena. As he did he was reverted back to his normal form. 

"Damn, he used the smokescreen to his advantage!" Ivan barked. He had utter frustration in his tone of voice.

"And on top of that I got knocked out of my Form Change due to the amount of strength I concentrated." He watched the statue crumble. It was in the shape of Atom. The last part of what Atom said then hit him. 

"Oh I'm so sorry teacher!" Ivan exclaimed. "Please forgive me I totally forgot." He zipped over, much like a cartoon character would, to Atom's side, and bowed his head back and forth in a apologetic way. After doing so he quickly retreated to his side.

"Alright Atom, I'm coming at you with everything I've got now." Ivan stated calmly. He grabbed an ability and inserted it without haste. 

"Let's finish this, Fusion Ability Activate: Talented Flame of the Lost Men!" The gauntlets red gem began to glow brightly. Leo conjured tow spheres of fire that floated above his palms. 

"This ability fuses with Fire Frame,  and it's first effect increases Leo's power." Ivan explained. "The second, well that just depends on what I roll!" Ivan tapped a few keys on his gauntlet and it began to speak.

"Digital Dice System engaged!" "Dice roll!" A digital dice began to flicker back and forth between numbers until it finally stopped. 

"Sweet, I got a four!" Ivan boasted. He presented the gauntlet to Atoms eyes to clear away any doubts that would come to mind. 

"Now, since I rolled a four you lose half of your own power!" As he said this Leo took a stance. Flames circled his body much like a snake would covering him in a fiery circle aura. 

"I call this one Climatic 4!" Ivan sounded off. Leo nodded to his friend. He faced Leonidas, and began to converge his fiery aura into a sphere that floated in the air. He let out a powerful grunt as he motioned the attack to advance towards Leonidas. Ivan leaped into the air. 

"Let finish this!" He growled with determination. 

[Atom]

"He's certainly coming along." I thought. "But he's still a long way away from beating us." Leo glowed and shifted into his Infusion form after using Inevitability in his Timeline form. My Bakumeter glowed. "In response," I said. Something began to form above my Bakumeter, and I grabbed it. "Battle Gear, Boost! Let's go Genetor!" Two spiked bracelets appeared on Leo "Level 1 Ability Activate! Genetor White!" A beam of pure, white light engulfed Ivan's Bakugan, and its color scheme changed from red to a pure white. The ability sputtered out. "Let's see how you fight without an attribute."
"Come on Ivan, think outside the box." Leo began. "What can you do against us?" He crossed his arms in front of himself in a defensive stance, ready for the next attack. "He's starting to get better, but he's still lacking in quick decisions. He needs to build up his reaction time to multiple stimuli so that he can counter all of them simultaneously." He thought a bit more. "Actually, there might be a way to do it." He sent the idea to me.
"That's, that's brilliant, Leo!" I responded, still in thought. "I'll have to send a message to Syark to see if it's possible, though. For now, let's focus on the battle." We returned our focus to Ivan, ready for his next move.

Ivan was in a panic. He bounced around in a humorous way. A short sigh could be heard from the other side of the arena snapping Ivan out of it. 

"No, What am I doing?" "This isn't the time to be goofing off, if I want to get stronger Iv'e got to get serious." Ivan thought to himself. 

He reaches for another ability. 

"Good thing, while in the supernatural realm I picked up a few cards from the shop." He rambled on in his head. "So you want to take away my attribute aye Atom?" 

He inserted the ability card. 

"Ability card activate, Special Ability: Frame Creation!" Ivan boasted. 

The gauntlet didn't glow this time instead it let off a small beep sound. It released a white colored beam of energy that expanded on my side of the field into a portal like thing. 

"I'm sure someone of your skill is familiar with a tactic like this one." Ivan said with a smile. "Thanks to Frame Creation I can summon forth an ally from my bakupack to help in the fight." 

As he explained a creature stepped out covered in white light. Ivan grinned his signature toothy smile. 

"Not only that but it gets an extra attribute of my choice!" "Get ready for the big gun!" "I'm calling forth Haos Bound Defender Overwatch!" 

The bakugan was revealed and the sparkling dragon let out a ferocious roar. It was incapable of speaking, from what he knew, so it had nothing to say as it floated next Leo. His Haos color scheme began to glow, and a Aquos like theme was added to the mix. 

"Now for part two!" "Atom, I've been keeping a secret from you, your not the only whose gathered some new gear." Ivan stated. 

As he said this he tapped a button on his gauntlet and then held out his hand. A small yellow rectangular box assembled hovering over his palm. 

"Lets go, Haos Bakugan Trap: Time Lord!" Ivan boasted.

He flung the device into the air, and in a bright light of yellow Haos color a being with the Haos scheme appeared. He had a cybernetic design wielding a three pronged staff that had small clocks on each tip. Each clock ticked back and forth. He was fairly young in appearance from what you could see. He kept his mouth covered by a scarf. 

"I bet your wondering how I got a trap." Ivan said with a grin. "I'll tell you later right now its time you settle with defeat!" 

He reached for another ability this one marked at the back with a giant T. 

"Trap Ability Activate: Time Lapse!" 

Ivans gauntlet's yellow gem began to glow. The Time Lord took to the air floating above the field. His clocks began to tick faster and waves of haos energy bounced outward in a pattern. One every three seconds. 

"As the name suggests this ability will age all opposing bakugan get ready for a reality shift buddy!" Ivan stated confidently. 

[Atom]

Leo quickly shifted to his Timeline form to prevent the aging effects. "Ivan, did we ever tell you how I evolved to this form the first time?" He asked.

"Let's just say Timeline Energy is a specialty of Chronogian, allowing him the ability to just ignore time itself. Timeline Leonidas was an evolution caused directly from receiving a third of Chronogian's Timeline Energy. So, yeah, you won't age us, but the effects are still there. For now." My Bakumeter glowed and another card came from it. "I'm certain you'll understand this card easily. Ability Activate! Soul Cannon!" Overwatch glowed brightly, then vanished into several fragments. "I'll select throw-in effects for this card. It basically turns all effects of the chosen type into 300 Gs each that I can collect on in two turns." I smiled. "Let's see how you deal with this one."

"As expected he had the perfect counter, luckily I have one of my own." Ivan ruminated to himself. 
"I can't give up though, not yet!" 

He reached for another ability, and inserted it without words. 

"Ability activate: Propulsion Boost!" 

As Ivan called out his move Leo's body began to glow. The pyrus bakugan warriors hands ignited with flames and he point them to the ground. 

"NOW LEO, TAKE TO THE SKY!" Ivan commanded. 

As per his partners demand Leo released the energy gathered and was shot into the sky. However unknown to Atom, due to the confusion the explosion caused, small energy mines had been planted per the effect of Propulsion Boost. Leo easily passed by Leonidas. Leo then using the boost zipped around the battle field jumping corner to corner. 

"Thanks to this little baby Leo gains a little boost of his own." Ivan began his explanation. Atom seemed unimpressed, so Ivan quickly finished his rant. 

"Also right now as we speak two energy mines have been planted waiting on my signal to activate either increasing or decreasing a power change." 
Ivan glanced at Atom awaiting his move while Leo continued to dash across the field. 

[Atom]

"Okay Ivan, that's fair. But, so is this. I'll skip, activating the second part of Soul Cannon. Let's just decrease your power, shall we?" The fragments flew into Ivan's Bakugan, and it glowed as the effects took place. "Let's see what you do against that." I thought about the ramifications. "If he gets his grammar wrong on this one, assuming he uses one of the charges, he'll likely make the effect worse for himself. Do you increase a decrease or decrease a decrease?" Leo flew up to get away from Ivan's Bakugan.

"He's still not reacting as quickly as he needs to." He thought. "He's still talking to himself to think things through slightly further. He doesn't realize that he just needs to act, think about his opponent's next move and react before they play their move, and just hope he's right. Hopefully my idea will help him in that regard."

“Hang on Leo, one power change decrease coming up.” Ivan countered quickly. Leo touched the ground, setting off an explosion. Leo shot upward into the sky once more. 

“Now by the effect of Propulsion Boost, I use one of two to decrease the power of your power decrease!” Ivan states clarifying his move. 

Leo’s power had decreased, but not to much, thanks to Propulsion Boost the decrease wasn’t as severe. Leo continued to zip around Leonidas was far to high now to be affected. Ivan crosses his arms. 

”So Atom, anything else, I think it’s time you get a little serious.” Ivan taunted. “From what I can tell it seems you let me counter this way.” 

[Atom]

"You sure you want me to get serious?" I asked. "Are you positive?" I figured I should just do that to taunt him back. I pulled the Ocarina from my pocket. "I suppose I could get more serious." I put the Ocarina to my mouth, and began to play a fast paced song. Very Low, Low Very high. Very Low, Low Very high. Energy began to crackle across the battlefield.

"Remember, Ivan" started Leo, "we've told you everything you know about our abilities. We haven't told you everything we know about our abilities." The energy began to crackle further along the battlefield, slowly gathering speed. A few stray bolts of energy hit Ivan's Bakugan before the entire battlefield was surrounded by a low-lying cyclone of electricity. I stopped blowing.

"Okay Ivan, you ready for this? I used the Song of Storms, creating a DPS field around all of us. It only targets opponents, so your Blazebound Defender will be constantly taking damage as the battle continues. Best think quickly to avoid a defeat." Leo began flying around the battlefield, making it more difficult to target him. "Let's see how you get out of this one."

“That damned harp I’ll shatter it to pieces!” Ivan screamed. He was beginning to get irritated at this point. He inserted ability fast and his body began to glow.

“I may not have an attribute now, but that won’t be the case for long.” Ivan stated. “Ability Activate: Form Change! As the ability activates an attribute wheel hovered over the arena. Ivan’s  body began to glitter with energy.

 “Pyrus Form!” Ivan’s Pyrus Form was restored. Following this transformation, Leo regained his Pyrus theme look.

“I’m not done yet!” “Ability Activate: Blue Flare!” Leo our his hands together creating a small ball of fire. He placed the fire inside of himself and the shark pieces that made up Leo were excavated. They landed beside Leo and beamed with light. After a few moments the crystals combined and Overwatch returned. 

“Thanks to Blue Flare, I can nullifying an ability, your Soul Cannon to be clear, and Leo gains an extra attribute of my choosing so now meet Haos Pyrus Leo, the Blazebound Defender!”

Leos color schemed changed as Ivan called this out and he took a battle stance besides Overwatch. 

“Time for one more for good measure, Ability Activate: Starlight Ray!” 

Overwatch advanced higher into to a point where he could reach Leonidas. The dragon let out a roar and energy surged towards Leonidas. The light was so bright it called hazy vision to all whom were in range, everyone, and then struck with an explosion. Leonidas fell to the ground and that’s when the second mine went off. 

“I now use my last energy mine to increase the power of my G Power decrease towards you!” Smoke filled the air. Ivan waited suspensefully for the results. Had he finally defeated his teacher in a brawl? 

[Atom]

Leo changed back into his Infusion Form and got back up. "I think it's time we wrapped this up, what do you say?"

"I wholeheartedly agree, Leo." Another card appeared from my Bakumeter. "Ability Activate! Final Infusion!" Leo glowed brightly, and the light was directed into his orb. Ivan's Bakugan began to glow as well. Then, the energy rocketed around the battlefield, mingling with the cyclone of energy a little, and began to revert the battle energy on Ivan's side, nullifying all of his abilities played up to that point. His Bakugan's energy levels dropped drastically. "You've gotten better, but you're still not quite able to beat me."

"You just need a little more time and effort to discover how to best make your strategies flow." Agreed Leo. "Anyways, we've basically used up everything we had, so it's probably time for a break."

"And I've got a few things I need to show you, too." I put the Ocarina away, no longer needing it for the battle. "Okay Ivan, is this battle over? Or do you have one last trick up your sleeve?"

Ivan sighed. 

“I suppose we could take a break.” Ivan responded. He was upset due to him getting nowhere, but he had used a lot of energy in the last hour, and was beginning to feel it’s effects. 

Everybodys bakugan returned to their owners, and Ivan reverted back to normal. He let out a roar of fatigue. 

“Phew I could go for some lunch, Ivan yawned, So what was it you had to show me?”
