I think we should let the characters other than canon characters also join the main teams.

I don't think though. The main teams are only for canon. The reason why is because canons are the main people of the story.

Oh so then if a normal character in the next season chooses one of the main teams, they would be allowed or not?

you cant join the main teams, but you can join an ally team.

Official Answer: The only reason that the canons "exist" is because they are on the team.
When you are on one of the main teams, that automatically makes you a canon.
