Episode 12: Shootout

[Noland Hardy]

Daniel's actions at Seiki's recording studio opened the eyes of many across the entire nation. The citizens were highly upset that neither the police nor the Resistors were able to catch Daniel and his accomplices while they continue to be menaces to society. Seiki's losses were the final straw for a lot of people. Protests were started in various areas in Maryland and Washington D.C. to speak against the constant unnecessary violence that was plaguing their communities. The protesters marched with signs and shouts to locations like the White House and Police Headquarters in an attempt to get them to protect the people as they were called to do. Maryland was officially confirmed to be in a state of emergency.

Nero had seen the news report on the protests that were sparked across the state and the nation's capital. He knew it was dangerous for the terrorists to be out there at a time like this, but decided not to notify them anyway since he wanted to see what they could do under pressure. Because of this, Daniel, Makoto, and Akane were unaware of the activities as they wandered the streets to look for their next victims. They were planning to attack a major building in Maryland in accordance to Nero's assignment in order to discourage any hope of stopping them even further. The trio managed to get in walking distance of the Prince George's County Administration Building only to find out that a large mob of protesters were standing in their way. As the chief of police went outside to calm everyone down, he looked across the street and saw the terrorists in broad daylight. He went from thinking about how to appease the citizens to figuring out how to stop the terrorists for good. 

The mob launched their Bakugan into battle and attempted to attack all three of them. As they were unprepared for the assault, Daniel, Makoto, and Akane did the best they could to defend themselves with Sakura, Ahrangi, and Torahu. Since the courthouse was very close to the county building, a large group of Bakugan joined their ranks from there. As a result of this, the terrorists could not stop the momentum the mob obtained, so they fled by running into the forest of trees that were nearby and used it to confuse the enemy as to where they went. They outran their attackers and decided to try another place; however, Daniel did not follow Nero's instructions and went to attack the Capitol. This was met with numerous resistances, which were easily crushed by the terrorists. 

Since Seiki was still reeling from what happened to her, she was chasing Daniel in hopes of getting revenge. It was fortunate enough that Allen and Markus were already present at the building since they were there on a school field trip, but Noland, Tracy, and Tank were nowhere to be found. Even though half of them were there, they decided to make first contact to stop them from damaging the area any further. Seiki flew in on Ahio's back to confront them, and Allen and Markus soon joined them as Gorem shoved his way in front of the lines to battle with Gargulion staying close to him.

[Seiki Maki]

Seiki jumped from the back of Ahio in the air, not too far from the ground and gracefully landing on the solid ground, catching her bakugan in toy form with her eyes closed as if she had done this many times before. "Daniel, I've got you... You're going to slowly pay off for what you did back there," Seiki growls, now getting up on her two feet and glaring at the terrorist intently with her amber colored eyes, black think black waving in the wind.

"Ahio," she raises her hand with the said bakugan in her grasp, "fly!" And she throws her bakugan into battle, who emitted a loud screech in response to her partner's summon for her assistance. Ahio was a feet or two in the air, two pair of glowing green eyes staring in Daniel's direction

The ventus brawler pulls out her headset, "You most definitely don't understand the pain others are feeling with your actions, I bet you didn't even had a family!" She snaps, her negative emotions getting to her and blinding her thoughts on what she said, though she was able to comprehend the brawl that was about to take place. She placed on her headset and took a deep breath, calming herself and playing some usual brawling music.

[Allen Silva]

After burrowing his way through the crowd, Shatter Gorem returned to ball form, landing in Allen's outstretched hand. This was a meaningless gesture though, as the subterra brawler simply tossed his bakugan back onto the field." Lets rock it Gorem." He hollered as the bakugan took shape." You know Daniel, I'm getting real tired of dealing with all this terrorist business. You know you don't win in the end, so why don't you give up now?"

Gorem rose up, each singular body part revealing itself in succession. Once fully formed, the bakugan stood up fully, revealing his size to everybody. Although it wasn't really intimidating, he liked to do it anyway in hopes of getting maybe a couple oohs and ahhs. Gorem then crossed his arms in a anoyed manner." You just don't know when to quit do you?"

[Daniel Andersen]

Words of Allen and Seiki did not even scratch Daniel as he did not care about anyone's feelings or opinions despite how powerful and right they were.
Like in slow motion he turned to Allen and commented on his mocking: "Only a weakling would give up and leave the battlefield...maybe you should listen to your own advice"
He then threw a dark-purple card with a Darkus emblem on the ground and it expanded.
Upon doing that he took a dark-purple glowing sphere out of his left pocket and turned to Seiki and gazed with his crimson eyes.

"I've had a family and they're all dead now. That is why I am so devoted to destroy this government; the one who was responsible for their death...The man who killed them is dead now thanks to me...What did that bring me? It brought me the title of 'the terrorist'...Do you want to become a 'terrorist', little girl? I am not standing in your way, but here is a warning...once you commit a crime there is no stopping then..." said Daniel without even slightest showing of emotions or care towards Seiki's loss. Of course no one there understood why he was warning Seiki of becoming a terrorist. He simply continued then with his procedure; threw dark-purple Bakugan ball on the ground which turned into its monster form, Sakura, releasing magnificent dark-purple mist with amazing sparkles all over the place. Golden wand suddenly materialized in Sakura's hand out of nowhere.


"Your biggest loss in vengeance is your dignity...I know that the best..." continued Daniel while Sakura got ready to attack and the added in a cold tone: "Now, battle..."
Golden wand Sakura held started glowing in mysterious yellow light similar to Haos and she started walking slowly towards Seiki and Allen preparing to attack their Bakugan.

[Seiki Maki]

"I don't care, I will get revenge for what you did! It doesn't matter if I'll be labeled something that's negative!" She growls, her aura growing dark, her eyes fixed on Daniel, her amber colored eyes reflecting her past sorrow which occurred not too long ago.

Ahio noticed the change in auras her partner had, and having a dark aura like that didn't mean a good brawl at all... Along with her choice of words. Ahio knew her partner was in much pain, but was it necessary to go all this way? She looked at Seiki for a moment chirping a bit, but her partner was too wrapped in her anger to notice. The bird gave a sigh before looking at Sakura who was coming this way. "Please tell me, why do you fight in such a way that would hurt others?" Ahio asks Sakura before her partner when along and activated an ability without thought.

"Ability Activate, Blitz Attack." Ahio gave a battle cry and went charging towards Sakura, bashing into the darkus bakugan multiple times. If it effected the targeted bakugan is unknown right now.

[Daniel Andersen]

Sakura was knocked back several meters due to Ahio's attack. She managed to reduce the damage as she was already prepared for battle. Sakura looked at Ahio and said with a judging tone in her voice: "Daniel just told you his reason. My reason is none of your interest, but it means the whole life and existence to me."
Sakura started running towards Ahio with a hyper speed. She jumped in the air preparing for a direct strike on Ahio when Daniel uploaded an ability in his gauntlet making it glow in dark-purple colors and then declared: "Is this familiar to you, Allen? Ability activate! Rook:Crusher!"

Gauntlet indicated massive power-decrease on Ahio and Gorem as Sakura got closer to Ahio.
With a speed of lightning she started pummeling Ahio with her fists making Ahio scream in pain as she was crushed by power she never felt before. Sakura hit Ahio's head with the wand then crushing her into the floor. As that was done she quickly appeared in front of Shatter Gorem pummeling him the same way and making him collapse with a big bang. Of course, Shatter Gorem still has an ultimate defense when compared to light Ahio. He started getting up again.

"Sakura, get back!" Daniel yawled and then continued slowly. "Bird may be knocked out, but Gorem has high defense...we need a high-powered tactic"

[Markus Hederick]

"Return!" Markus commanded before Ahio and Gorem got on the field. Gargulion immediately returned to its ball form and landed on the ground close to Markus. Stooping down, Markus picked the marble and held it firmly in his palms. "I don't want to waste my time fighting this terrorist," he said to himself, "Makoto is my main target." He then turned to Seiki and Allen and said, "Hey, guys! I'll just watch this battle. I'm waiting for someone I'm interested in battling with." Then Seiki and Allen threw in their bakugans and got ready, while on the other hand, Daniel threw his own bakugan that was already preparing an attack. Ahio, Shatter Gorem and Sakura were engaged in battle as Markus just watched.

Markus was surprised that Sakura was overpowering both Ahio and Shatter Gorem. He then threw out Gargulion to help them out. "Bakugan brawl! Darkus Gargulion, rise!" The gargoyle-like bakugan rose and took its space on the field. Now to prove that his power with Gargulion is superb and capable to defeat Makoto, Markus activated a card. "Ability card activate! Shadow Flight!" Markus swiped this card on his BrawlX and upon activation, Gargulion transmutated into a shadow-like form. "Now, that's the spirit, partner! I love this!" Gargulion said, laughing in excitement. Within seconds, Gargulion disappeared and appeared at Sakura's back. Before Sakura made another punch on Shatter Gorem, Gargulion made an attack. "Take this!" Gargulion yelled, punching Sakura and sending her into the air.

As a shadow Gargulion vanished and appeared behind Sakura and stroke her with his fist and launching her in the air with all his might. As Daniel was watching Sakura being launched in the air by Gargulion he made a short and evil laughter commenting on Markus's move.
"You dare to call yourself a Darkus brawler? You're a shame for our kind."
Like a wind from a nightmare Daniel rises his arm and a dark-purple light flashes in the gauntlet.
Before Gargulion could even realize what living nightmare was preparing to haunt his unfortunate fate Daniel declared with an evil smile: "Get that overgrown lizard of my sight."
Instead of listening to laws of physics Sakura kept on levitating in the air with her golden wand glowing in the sunlight and pointing at the beast on the ground. Her voice was like a cold breeze crawling through Resistors' skin when she declared her intention: "You're done".
"Ability activate! Thunder Kick" Daniel declared as his gauntlet started flashing again in dark-purple color with a true essence of his Darkus nature he was about to reveal.
Upon declaring that ability's name lightning started to appear around Sakura. Thunderbolts were so loud that the noise was practically piercing through Resistors' heads while Daniel seemed not to have any problem with it; it was rather a beautiful music to his ears as he loved his opponents seeing terrified in the chaos he was producing. "What is it, you don't like the sound? Well, that's just the tip of the iceberg. Sakura, showtime" continued Daniel with his voice piercing through the noise of thunders that Resistors couldn't even hear what he was saying, but Sakura understood perfectly as her body was wrapped in thunder.

She then hurled at Gargulion who was already fighting to endure the unbearable sound of lightning. Upon reaching mid-air area above Gargulion Sakura's left leg was wrapped in chains of thunder as she did a left-thrust-kick and kicked Gargulion in the face with all her might sending him and fixing him to the nearest wall. Gargulion attempted to stand up, but it seemed that horrific chains of thunder Sakura had now wrapped his all body preventing him from doing any movement at all and apparently causing him stings of his life.
Finally, after torturing Resistors and beating Gargulion she landed in front of Daniel. 
Lightning continued to produce ear-piercing sound which was so unbearable that even walls started to crack under an enormous pressure of destruction.

"Just as we suspected." Daniel started speaking to Sakura in a cold tone.
"They're nothing else, but useless pawns just waiting for Hardy to drag them out of their troubles. But without their beloved Master Blaze, they're as good as corpses" continued Daniel with an evil tone as his eyes glared in crimson. He then pointed at Markus and Seiki: "Hardy must be a fool sending his weakest chess-pieces into front lines against me. Weakest Darkus and Ventus I have ever seen...Pitiful, just pitiful"
"I feel sorry for them. There is no Noland to change their diapers" Sakura replied in a sarcasm as she watched the lightning flash through the whole place.

[Allen Silva]

Allen waited for a few moments as the brawl begun to play out. But once it was obvious that working together was the only option for the resistors to win, he pulled one of his ability cards." Now it's our turn Gorem. Rush wrecker, ability activate." Allen activated one of his most used abilities. He wanted to use this ability to get a fast one on Daniel, ending this brawl with as little damage as possible." We won't quit until we see you pay for what you've done. Justice will always prevail, even with masked creeps like you manning the helm."

" Sakura, you will not succeed in your plans." Gorem declared to the darkus bakugan. His partner had made his intentions clear, then so would he. He then donned the energy cloak that came with the ability activation. He charged at sakura at full speed, getting ready to shoulder ram the darkus bakugan to her maker himself." NOW I FLATTEN YOU!"

[Seiki Maki]

"Urusai! I'm not one of Noland's pawns you baka!" Seiki shouts over her music which only she could hear. "I'm only here on my own accord, now because some pyrus boy told me to. I don't know about there two though," she say pointing at Allen and Markus. Then she turns her attention to Sakura, "Well you know how sick that is?" She says bluntly, referring to the diaper comment. "I'm an age older than him. If anything, it's the other way around with the diaper changing," she hisses.

Ahio stagger to her three feet and hops into a tree to watch for the time being, and maybe sneak in a few punches. At this rate, Ahio was in no shape to fight, but only to watch. The bird sighs at her brawler's actions. Really, that whole death thing was really getting to her now... Affecting her brawling skills. Why couldn't she just move on? Maybe it was one of those human feelings that the ventus creature could never get around to understanding, for something that tragic never happened to her.

[Daniel Andersen]

Sakura's comment on Resistors' battle skills made Seiki upset which was obvious by the reaction.
Daniel started laughing with a comment: "Sakura, it seems you hit the nerve. You should do that more often". 
Shatter Gorem was charged up and was hurling towards Sakura causing ground to shake and walls to crack all over the place. Crimson eyes of Daniel gave a cold-blooded gaze to Gorem as Daniel released a dark-toned comment: "Here comes Hardy's rook. I hope you like darkness, because Sakura does!" Daniel rose his gauntlet and it started flashing in dark-purple light again as Darkus emblem was appearing on it. "Ability activate! Dark Hole!" Daniel declared as his gauntlet started to flash even faster and in stronger light freaking out all people and Bakugans present.
A massive vortex started to appear and expand above the battlefield creating an anti-gravity pulse which stopped Shatter Gorem in his way by taking him off the ground. It did also to Ahio and Gargulion which were too weakened and couldn't move and Gorem was quite heavy that he didn't manage to make any useful movements. Sakura was also in the anti-gravity, but it didn't seem to bother her since she kept pretty calm.
Gorem, Ahio, Gargulion and Sakura were sucked in the vortex which started to create dark lightning-bolts all over the place. A few seconds after that all three Resistor Bakugans fell out of the portal terribly weakened as their color changed to a variety of black and dark-purple.
Sakura jumped out of the portal with somewhat renewed power. 
"Now, you're in trouble. " Daniel said as Sakura hurled towards three Resistor Bakugans. She started thrusting her wand at incredible speed and once she reached Gorem she hit him in the head and fixed him to a nearby wall breaking it completely. Then she turned to Ahio and Gargulion while hitting the ground with the wand. Upon doing that a dark shockwave blasted through the ground blasting Ahio and Gargulion in nearby obstacles and pillars.
"I wouldn't suggest any one of you try to fight Sakura with your attributes turned to Darkus. She has a natural advantage against her own attribute" Daniel declared as he pulled out a card with dark-purple glow and got ready for possible counter-attacks.

[Seiki Maki]

"Tch," Seiki scoffs, bringing out a card. "Since we are such at a disadvantage at the moment... Ability Activate! Like a Whirlwind-"

"Quick as Lightning!" The two call, Ahio use to this drill after so many times of using the card with such a long name. With the energy Ahio had in her form, she created a wind vacuum, reversing all effects of Daniel's cards, from any direct GP loss to complex abilities. This had also lifted the darkus effect thrown upon Gorem, Gargulion was a darkus bakugan already, but if there was any strange effect thrown upon them, then it wasn't there anymore but being played in reverse.

Ahio was silence in her thoughts for a moment as she finished the whole reverse effect thing that the recently played ability card granted. 'Hopefully she's making some progress to beating him... But for some reason, I feel like this will be a loss, yet a win...' She thinks to herself, a breeze flying through and ruffling her feathers.

[Daniel Andersen]

All Bakugans were turned back to their natural attribute thanks to Seiki's card, but they were still quite beaten and Sakura didn't seem to show any sign of weakness.
Tension was getting bigger and bigger while dust and smoke were rising in the air and walls were cracking under the high collateral damage caused by Sakura's attack. It was obvious that Daniel and Sakura were determined to win and were able to concentrate on three opponents at once.

"How sad, they still don't understand" Daniel said quietly as his gauntlet revealed Darkus emblem which suddenly started to glow in dark-purple light in essence of darkness.
"Special Ability, activate.....Light of Heaven!" Daniel announced upon the appearance of the emblem and then said quietly: "Initiate attack, now!"
Upon activation of that ability Sakura was wrapped in dark-purple tornado of glowing dust.
She was wrapped in that tornado for about eight seconds and then she jumped out as her body kept on glowing in dark-purple. "Now, you will see what true power is." she yowled and turned first to Shatter Gorem who began to stand up after a terrible knock-out from before.
She started sprinting rapidly at Gorem and suddenly jumped making a left-thrust-kick in Gorem's head sending him again into the wall which finally collapsed due to immeasurable damage it sustained before. Sakura then turned to Ahio and Gargulion and hit the ground with the bottom of her wand releasing a powerful Darkus-Haos shockwave which pummeled both opposing Bakugans sending them into walls again which also collapsed under the pressure.

"It seems that you need a Pyrus kid to save you after all..." Sakura commented on powers of Resistors which was yet not match for Sakura's.

[Seiki Maki]

Seiki decided to shoot back with her own silly little comments, "Oh, so you guys just want to battle Noland? Or maybe it's because you want to see his little dragonoid," she coosing teasingly. Seriously, why do these people want to butt in on my love life? I've hand enough pain already... But their 'terrorists' so I suppose there would be some exception. "Well, that idea is going down on the shippings journal." Seiki says, pulling out a small notebook and a pencil and jotting some stuff down. There were already some scribbles there from days she felt evil and shipping people together.

"Oh feathers," Ahio sighs, knowing what her partner was up to now. 99 out of 100 chances she would post it on her little blog she kept to herself and only allowed others to see, but there was been strange activity going on there lately and some other inputs on the shippings, weather it would be fictional characters or people who live today.

[Markus Hederick]

Markus was getting annoyed by the way Daniel spoke of them and insulted them.
"You know what?!" Markus yelled, "You are just the opposite of a freak. You are a coward, a weak and feeble brawler. Didn't you figure out that I never made another attempt to stop you? I took my time studying you and now, I've discovered your weakness. Prepare to face defeat."
"Grr..." Markus growled, "Ability card activate! Power Theft!" Markus yelled, as he swiped this ability through his BrawlX. "Sorry guys, this might hurt you, but is for our own good." Markus warned before commanding Gargulion to initiate his attack.

Gargulion roared with strength and hit his fists on the ground, after which he dashed at Gorem and Ahio, striking them with his claws. "Sorry! It isn't my wish." Gargulion said as he attacked both of them. Finishing his attack on his allies, Gargulion headed straight for Sakura. "As for you, Sakura, I'm not sorry for my actions. You know why? I hate you. Simple!" Gargulion said, aiming at Sakura. His claws finally reached Sakura and with a force greater than that which was used on his allies, Gargulion jumped up and landed on Sakura, stricking her and forced he down into the ground, creating a deep crater.

"I told you you weren't strong, Daniel." Markus said, "You only boast of what you're not. And if you think of underestimating us and saying that we are still amateurs compared to Noland, you're wrong." Markus then faced Gargulion and nodded his head. Noticing it, Gargulion remarked, On it. Oh, and Mr. Terror, I think you should get a paper bag where you can share your tears with, 'cause after I'm through, even though you claim to be a man, you'll be crying at your loss!" Gargulion roared again and this time, he began morphing. This process was an unusual one; it was rarely used. Gargulion then began emitting some energy from his body and when this energy subsidized, he revealed a new form. A Haos form. "I figured out that your Sakura seems to have an advantage over bakugans that have different attributes from hers," Markus remarked, "and she also loves playing with "magic". Now, let's see if she can hold off a Haos Gargulion!"
