Episode 16: Ignited Power

[Noland Hardy]

At the conclusion of the meeting, everyone went outside as they were prepared to go home. Karen was the first to to leave after kissing Noland goodbye. She did not go straight back to Nero's base since she did not want anyone seeing her walk there. Instead, she took a detour to waste enough time so that Elico's Darkus abilities would be more useful in getting her home undetected at night. While in the process of doing so, Daniel appeared and attempted to land a surprise attack on her from a rooftop to get revenge for what she did in the meeting with Nero. Karen threw in Elico to respond to Sakura's attack and easily repelled it. He then tried to hit Daniel with a punch, but was stopped by Karen since he still needed to live. 

Akane and Makoto soon appeared next to Daniel following his unnecessary ambush. When Karen asked what they were doing there, Daniel coldly stated that it was none of her business. She simply smiled at him and told him that he didn't have to hold a grudge that long. Makoto then asked her where Noland was. This not only caused her to wonder why they wanted to know, but she did the same thing Daniel did to her and refused to answer the question unless she was told why they were out when they weren't supposed to be. She then thought about what Nero told them not to do, and the question they asked led her to suspect they might try to go after him regardless of what they were told. Before she could comment on that issue, Daniel realized that she might have caught on to what they were doing and may try to stop them, so he had Sakura blind Karen and Elico by repeatedly flashing a bright light and attack them as they made their escape. Elico was heavily damaged and Karen was sent backwards, receiving numerous injuries. Elico was considering chasing after them, but prioritized getting her some treatment. She cursed them while they left and said to herself that she hoped Noland doesn't die.

Noland and Allen were walking together a couple of blocks from the community center reminiscing of where the entire disaster took off when a child was killed on the exact same street they were walking on. They also joked around about what happened at the community center when they got there as they didn't expect to see two girls fight over one guy. Noland claimed that he liked both of them, but was drawn to Karen more for a reason he couldn't explain properly. Before anything else could be said, they rounded the block where they saw Abbadon licking himself in the middle of the street. Horrified, the duo quickly turned around and walked in a different direction. They then approached an intersection and choose to go to the right, but found Asmodeus scratching on the buildings that were over there. The duo turned around once again and started running. They approached another intersection, but found Belphenoid asleep at the center. Noland panicked and threw Drago out to fly them to another location since it was not well-lit where they were. 

The dragonoid complied and allowed Noland and Allen to get on his back. As he took off, the Pack followed him closely and was intent on getting to him one way or another. Noland noticed that those three were able to stay within a moderate distance to them while on the ground, which was worrisome. Drago told the two that a battle was inevitable at this point since they're being followed and landed in a wide-open parking lot where the moon and the lampposts lit the area nicely. The Terrorists soon appeared there with Sakura's help and greeted them, seemingly prepared to make this their final confrontation.

[Daniel Andersen]

Daniel's dark face expression under the moonlight was almost terrifying, especially with his eyes glaring in crimson color as those were eyes of a monster rather than eyes of a human.
He put his hand in his pocket and pulled out a card with a Darkus emblem and some weird letters that looked more like Egyptian hieroglyphics than any normal letters.
He threw the card which expanded all over the place leaving a disturbing scent of fresh blood.
"Sakura, be prepared..." Daniel said quietly and turned his head to Sakura.
"I'm always prepared, so don't hesitate" Sakura responded with a strict tone.

Daniel's gauntlet started glowing in dark-purple light with a Darkus emblem glowing even stronger. Battle was ready to begin. "Now, Ability activate! Spirit Strike!" Daniel yowled and rose his arm as gauntlet started glowing even stronger.
Sakura jumped and made a circle shape in the sky using her wand. In a matter of seconds that circle appeared to be a portal of four different attributes; Darkus, Haos, Pyrus and Ventus.
"Seek for the Dragonoid!" Sakura yowled and pointed at Drago as portal slowly opened and released a horrific sound of howling. Four fox-shaped mystical spirits in colors of four attributes hurled at Drago binding him and apparently causing him great pain.

Daniel turned to Makoto and Akane and said loudly: "What are you waiting for? Written request?!"
It was obvious he was intending to win this one and he was not ready to give up under any circumstance there is.
 

[Allen Silva]

" I don't know why I expected anyone else here." Allen complained, commenting on his bad luck. Once again, he and Noland were confronted by the group that caused so much destruction and pain." I've been meaning to beat you three numbskulls as revenge for everything that's been happening." The subterra brawlers demeanor changed. He had his chance to thwomp the Terrorists." Noland, you handle Sakura, I take the other two. Sound like a plan?"

Gorem took it on himself for his first move. He took a boxing style stance, charging up his fists with his brown energy." Here's one you knuckleheads haven't seen yet." He rushed at Toharu, launching a volley of jabs at the bakugan." Rolling Quake. Try and beat my speed."

[Noland Hardy]

Noland and Allen dismounted the Dragonoid and prepared to face Daniel and his friends. "I guess you're not going to properly introduce yourself this time, Daniel?" Noland questioned. Daniel skipped his usual introduction speech this time and commenced an attack immediately, showing that he was more serious in this encounter than he was previously. This sudden change in attitude came as a surprise to Noland, but not enough to throw him off balance. He knew that Daniel would eventually be brave enough to do something like this due to his villainous nature.

Drago was bound by Sakura's ability and caused him to snarl a little due to the force of it, but it was unable to get him to crack. He turned his head to look at the energy constructs that were attempting to hold him in place only to quickly shift his attention back to Sakura in disgust that an ability like that was even used. He lifted his right foot and stomped it into the pavement, and unleashed a loud roar that was able to move his foes a couple of meters backwards. The Bakugan had enough of their existence, and Noland seemed to share the same conclusion.

Noland prepped his gauntlet for battle immediately after realizing what he was intending to do in this battle. He was not fighting to win, but to kill. "You're going to need more than your guardians to prevent you from dying tonight, Daniel," Noland threatened, albeit more darker than he usually does. Before playing his card, he nodded at Allen to acknowledge their game plan for the battle so far; however, he was not thinking that was going to be a good long-term strategy. "Ability activate! Blaze Tornado!"

"And so it begins..." Drago responded, apparently tired of fighting this bunch. He became surrounded in a tornado of fire that completely erased all traces of energy on his body left from Sakura's ability. It engulfed his body completely as he raced around Ahrangi, striking him in his left hip and threatening to crash him right into Sakura after inflicting a critical hit on her Ventus comrade.

[Daniel Andersen]

Sakura and Ahrangi were severely pummeled by attacks, but Daniel just did a facepalm and whispered to himself: "This is getting tiresome...."
He then turned to Sakura and yowled: "Hey, fox-brain, how about you try avoiding it next time? You are faster than him...*sigh*...why do I even bother?"
Sakura rose back on her feet and replied strictly: "Give me a break. You didn't complain last time and it was much worse"
Daniel rose his arm and his gauntlet started glowing in dark-purple light as ground around them started to shake. Daniel's face expression showed that he had some kind of a big intention for this battle, but it also showed some kind of tiredness. "Don't make me call Wolveride. Believe me, nobody wants that. Ability activate! Flaming Fox!" Daniel commented on Sakura's reply with an obvious sign of irritation in his voice.

Sakura just made an angry expression on her face and jumped right in front of Drago. Flames of blue color similar to ones Torahu uses binded Sakura like chains and by what Noland and Allen could see on their gauntlets it increased Sakura's power enormously.
Then she made a left-thrust as blue fire attached on her leg and then kicked Dragon in the right cheek while releasing all the blue fire. Kick blasted Drago a few meters away, but it wasn't an actual tactic of Sakura to kick him. Astonishing blue flames engulfed Drago giving him apparently a great pain and he didn't even know how it was possible for fire to hurt him as a strong Pyrus Bakugan. 

While that was ongoing Daniel sighed again and his gauntlet started glowing again.
"Not enough...clear the path over there! Ability activate! Silver Wind!" Daniel said quietly with a tone of tiredness in his voice as he pointed at Gorem
As Sakura received the power from the ability card she rose her wand and turned to Gorem and said in a cold tone: "People love gold, but I actually prefer sparkly silver"
Her wand started to generate some sort of power which created a vertical tornado blast which hurled at Gorem. Normally, a tough Bakugan like Gorem was not worrying since tornado of that size couldn't blast him away. Daniel then looked at Gorem and said: "Check"

Gorem's body was starting to turn into silver. Like some sort of corrosion, but it was a silver corrosion. Gorem tried to move, but it wasn't possible as most of his body and things around the place were turning into pure silver. Drago is tormented by blue fire while Gorem is being turned into a silver statue. Sakura turned then to Drago and said sarcastically: "I thought you liked fire...well, my mistake"

[Akane Huomoto]

"Tch, no need to be so pushy," Akane hisses at Daniel as she does a backflip to avoid the potentially dangerous rocks flying her way from Gorem's attack as Torahu quickly doges the jabs, getting a few blows here and there.

"Ability Activate, Illusion Confusion," Akane shouts as Torahu's blue fire on her back seem to grow bigger and form a blue fire wall around her, and engulfs Daniel and Makoto's partners. "Toarhu gains protection, so the punches won't work on her, and my two bud-buds here get a small boost," The pyrus brawler says in a blunt tone as she looks over to Daniel and Makoto to see how they were holding up. 

"He's growing silvery," Toarhu says in a childish manner, watching Gorem seemingly turn to silver with fascinated blue eyes.

[Makoto Nakashima]

Makoto was ready to enter the battle. He was itching for some entertainment and  decided to take advantage of Dragonoid's current weakness.
"I hope they'll live up long enough to entertain me. Ahrangi, go!"
Ahrangi appeared out of nowhere and landed in front of Dragonoid. He was already in position to strike and was waiting for Makoto to act. "Ability activate! Stance: Muay Thai!"
Ahrangi took advantage of Sakura's and Torahu's attacks which immobilized Dragonoid to strike directly at him. "Resistance is pointless" Ahrangi yowled and the started pummeling Dragonoid rapidly in a boxing-style.
Dragonoid was being punched from all directions and was in great pain.
Ahrangi just kept on punching Dragonoid with no mercy or intention to stop for a second.

[Noland Hardy]

The kick Sakura landed on Drago was not as effective from Noland's perspective since he was aware that her physical capabilities was far from enough to subdue him, but he was surprised to see the aftermath it had on him in the form of blue flames. "Drago!" Noland shouted as the Bakugan became engulfed in blue fire. The dragonoid began roaring in pain as the flames spread throughout his body. Suddenly, Ahrangi took advantage of this distraction by getting in front of Drago and delivering an onslaught of punches that Noland could not keep up with. "That's funny. The guy who barely says or does anything finally emerges," Noland remarked out loud jokingly.

Noland uploaded an ability onto his gauntlet to respond to the current situation. "You're a waste of my time, Makoto. Ability activate! Flawless Shield!" Drago shifted his left wing in front of him to suppress the attack as well as pushing him back from his opponent slightly. Before another punch could make contact, he covered himself with his wings in order to protect himself from being damaged. By using the diamond on his forehead, Drago shifted the blue flames to his wings for extra fortification. This would enable Drago to pass the flames on to his attacker, which caused Ahrangi to fall victim to the blue flames as soon as he made contact. "Resistance is pointless," Drago mocked as Ahrangi was now covered in the flames that was once his own detriment.

He then proceeded to kick Ahrangi to send him plummeting towards the ground, skidding a few feet before stopping beside Sakura. "We need to beat these guys as soon as possible..." Noland said in his mind as he thought about the best possible action to take. He looked over at Allen and noticed that Gorem was turning into silver rather quickly. "When you finally stop Gorem from turning silver, I have a plan that can take all of them out at once. We desperately need to before the Pack arrives," Noland noted.

[Allen Silva]

Gorem was in it bad. He had started out with a advantage and got out running. But in the blink of a eye, Gorem was turning silver and Toharu had powered up thier side. Although he was fighting it off, Sakura's ability was backing him into a corner from the get go. Even with all that, Drago was still getting the brunt of the blow. he was under assault by both Sakura and Ahrangi.Noland chimed in with a snarky response.

Allen laughed at this comment.loud enough for anyone on the street to hear. He couldn't help himself. Even though this was the most tense fight ever, he could feel himself winding down into his usual self. He pulled a ability card from his pocket, and activated its effect." Ability activate! Richter blockade." He spoke the name of the card.

Gorem built up energy, releasing the silver spell from his body. He then reached his hand under the top layer of gravel and rock, and pulled it up. This created a thick wall of earth for defensive purposes. He walked back a few paces, then charged forward and push kicked it at Ahrangi, looking to keep him away from Drago." There ya go buddy, I got your back."

[Daniel Andersen]

Ahrangi sustained some damage by incoming attacks and two Resistors' Bakugans were free again. Daniel was shuffling his card deck before he pulled out another card and spoke to Sakura: "I hope you still remember this. Ability activate! Fox Card!"
Sakura summoned 5 cards colored differently and with ancient scripts all over them.  Then she threw them all at Gorem. Cards reached Gorem and attached to Gorem as magnets. Suddenly, cards started emitting energy waves all over Gorem's body rapidly decreasing his power and creating shock bolts all over his body preventing him from moving. "You are irrelevant here. Move!" Sakura said to Gorem while stopping him with energetic waves.
"Go, before Gorem recovers" Daniel said to his two teammates.

[Makoto Nakashima]

Ahrangi jumped in front of Dragonoid to attack him again.
"Now, Ahrangi. Ability activate! Typhoon Punch!" Makoto yelled as Ahrangi's right arm started to glow in a strong green light. He rushed towards Drago and jumped to reach his head position. 
Upon coming to Dragonoid's head he focused his right arm did a powerful uppercut which blasted Dragonoid away by few meters. Ahrangi landed near him and released a blast of wind energy through his right arm to blast Dragonoid away again and right into a nearby fountain.
"You should do more fight and less talk" Makoto replied on Noland's comment from earlier.
A cloud of dust covered the area as Ahrangi did a powerful combination of attacks. Makoto was waiting for his teammates then to continue the attack.

[Akane Huomoto]

"Hm, I suppose that's some good reflecting there... Well, the pack is going to be here sooner or later, all we have to do is hold these guys down till they get here for some fun," Akane chuckles as she draws out another card.

Torahu's blazing blue eyes caught the inscription of the card and readied herself for the upcoming ability card. "Ability Activate, Beserker Blaze!" Torahu gives a mighty roar and quickly charges towards Gorem and Drago, doing multiple moves to deal some damage towards them. After a minute of crazed movements, Torahu leaps back to the two see how well she had damaged the two bakugans. 

"These wounds should keep you worrying about your health for a bit. Unless, one of you two could counter them, hmm?" Akane playfully hums, supposedly giving them some hints... 

[Noland Hardy]

As Drago and Gorem were continuously getting attacked, Noland stood there unfazed by his opponent's actions and words. He started reminding himself of what just occurred in his mind as he was getting ready to play his next ability. "They're so bent on attempting to beat us that they're forgetting what Drago and Gorem are capable of," Noland said to himself. "Gorem will have no problems resisting those attacks. Drago can take hits, but not as much as Gorem. Still, I have an ability that can heal Drago and Gorem anyway, so what they're doing is pointless." Noland noticed the position where his enemies were standing and formulated a plan around this factor. "I've noticed they've sent more attacks at Drago than Gorem, so they're more than likely to disregard Gorem for now. This'll be the perfect time to get them out of here since I know one clean hit will seal the deal."

Noland uploaded an ability onto his gauntlet while responding to his opponent's remarks. "Nothing you do or have done at this point matters. You could hit Drago and Gorem all you want to. It won't change your Bakugan's fate. Interestingly, I allowed you to hit Drago, Makoto. You just placed your entire team in a death trap." As Drago was flung back by the multiple blows, Drago was given enough time to gather enough of his energy to activate his next attack safely without being interrupted by the opponent. He held up his arm strongly and boldly exclaimed, "Ability activate! Eradication Shift!" Once activated, Drago immediately sprung back into action as he rebounded off of the concrete and lunged back into his starting position. "Checkmate," Drago snorted.

Since Drago gathered energy prior to Ahrangi sending him backwards with his ability, he immediately released a wave of energy out of his body that scattered across that section of the parking lot. The enemy territory was completely changed to a highly heated environment that even the mightiest Pyrus Bakugan would not wish to traverse. The enemy began to burn relentlessly as they got a taste of the toxic gasses that emerged from the ground. "There isn't much talking or fighting from either of you now. What an interesting turnaround," Noland mocked. "Allen, knock 'em out."

[Allen Silva]

Dragon had turned the tide once again. Now the duo was in the driver seat. So it fell upon him to finish this battle. He held up the ability that he hoped would end this all." Ability activate! Rush Wrecker!" Allen called out one if his favorite abilities names, signaling its activation. " Looks like we got you in checkmate here. See this ability does, yada yada. Ya know. Gorem, take on Rolling Quake."

" We're gonna box the boxer eh. " Gorem taunted, aiming it at Ahrangi, the martial arts user. Gorem's body begun to exude brown energy, forming a area around him saturated with his energy. He then rushed forward. First he struck Toharu with his shoulder, sending the pyrus bakugan back into ball form. Next up was Ahrangi. He was tougher to take out, requiring a speedy volley of strikes. Luckily for them, Noland and Drago's ability left the bakugan defenseless, and Gorem sent him back as well. Finally he speeded towords Sakura, the leader of the Terrorists." Now then ya funky puppy. EAT THIS!" He reeled back his fist, then launched it towords Sakura's face. The punch landed, finishing her off. Gorem returned to his position in front of Allen." I call that........Magic."

[Daniel Andersen]

Just as Noland and Allen got the upper hand Daniel started commenting it.
"Remarkable, Hardy. Remarkable...I've seen how much you've improved yourself. Last time we fought it was a pathetic performance...you needed an army of your comrades to put up a decent fight, but now...only two of you and you battle like the heart of hell"
As he said that a dark figure appeared behind him. And other two figures followed.
Those were Belphenoid and the rest of his pack. They were ready for battle and when they got closer to Drago and Gorem they started roaring. Belphenoid looked at Drago and hissed: "Thisss time you shall not be spared! Lizard!"
Daniel then activated his gauntlet which started glowing in much more intense color.
This time it was Belphenoid's turn to battle Drago without Sakura's help or interference of Noland's friends. "Ability activate! Belphe-Blaze!"
Belphenoid opened his mouth and released a powerful black flame which engulfed all Bakugans in battle. When flames disappeared all other Bakugans were turned into Darkus. Drago and Gorem lost a significant amount of power which was absorbed by Belphenoid. But that was not the end of terror.
"Special Ability, activate! Demon Excavator!"
As Daniel announced and activated that ability energy Belphenoid collected made a powerful burst and an eclipse started to form in the sky. After a couple of seconds a mass of Bakugans started emerging from the eclipse. Once they got out they hurled at Drago and Gorem.
