Allen would be glad to know his strategy was working. Dragon Demolisher was very power intensive. No one said anything, but this packed a lot more power than anything Noland and Damian used during their match years ago. This was also superior to the AOE capabilities of Alex's Valiant Strive. Even then, Dragonus wasn't gaining any ground.
"Activating Shadow Guardian!" Calvin played. Dragonus stopped shooting and started summoning. The arena outskirts were outlined with a trail of Darkus energy. This would be the summoning circle. Then, from the bottomless pit below them, a reaper-like entity shot straight up with a scythe in its hand. It went for Gorem with a continuous front-flip swing.

Gorem stopped the entity dead in its tracks by swinging Purge downwards. When it clashed with the scythe, the entity was hurled right back down into the abyss. Of course, it came back, but it didn't try the same trick. It did try to open a bunch of portals in the arena though. The first one spat out a blue grenade. When it detonated, the pit was filled with water. This was Aquos Battle Audience being reused somewhat. This was true in a sense, but what it did was convert any of Dragonus' abilities into continuous effects. This meant that anything he has already done can behave like it was being used over and over again...
He chose three other abilities to become continuous: Karmic Pulse, Silent Lock, and Doom Volt. Here is what he achieved with this combination: Gorem would remain blind, Karma would began to swarm the field at an endless interval, and the intense electricity from Doom Volt would maintain a steady flow of attack potential. All of these abilities continuously left the portals. It was unknown how long this Shadow Guardian would remain active.
What was known was that this stunt costed Dragonus his transformation. Even then, this ability remained active...
"...Maybe all I need is one..." Allen thought as he got his counterattack ready. No one could see this coming, except for Noland maybe. "Take this. Ability activate. Gaia Strongarm."
Gorem's body rippled with Subterra energy. This gave him a significant increase in physical strength, but that was the least of Calvin's worries. This was the big brother to Powers Polish, an old favorite that can let Gorem reuse a previous ability. What better way to close this out with the same ability that damaged Dragonus the first time: Forgiveness of the Martyr. Gorem 'forgave' Dragonus by revealing a satellite hidden in his left arm. He pointed it towards the last place he saw Dragonus, which was straight ahead since no one moved. Everyone knew what that meant...
"I see all that power you had left you as quick as it came," Allen observed. "I don't mean to make this sting anymore than it has to, but you should probably come up with a concession speech now."

Dragonus was subjected to plenty of Karma fields, his own electricity, and his own blinding ability. Calvin risked it all to use Shadow Guardian thinking that it would pay off. Against most people, it might have. In about a few seconds, the electricity would've became so intense that it would have impaired Gorem's ability to do what he did. More water would've been added as well, which would spread the electricity's effective area. It just wasn't fast enough...
All Calvin could really do was smile and play one last ability before all hope was lost...
"Activating Power Expel..." Calvin returned to the hand he had prior to entering Soul Spirit Level 2. He had limited options now due to Darkus Vision restricting three out of six card slots. In the midst of this continuous pain, Dragonus' body expelled rays of darkness. This was intended to undo an opponent's progress up until a certain point, like they did nothing up until whenever. Instead, he used it on himself. He only had enough gas to undo the activation of Shadow Guardian. That saved him, but...he was on the brink of losing...
"...Dragonus...this may or may not be delaying the inevitable, but... Oversoul is the only option..." Calvin told his partner.
"...I understand..." Dragonus accepted. "Go out with a bang, huh...? Let's do it then..."
Calvin's energy flared up once again. So did Dragonus'. They reentered their Soul Spirit Level 2 even when they weren't supposed to. Entering it this way was called 'Oversoul'. It's pushing past their limitations, but they only get one shot here, or they'll risk permanent damage...or death.
"You survive this, Allen...I resign..." Calvin informed Allen up front. He wasn't going to do anymore than this last ability. If it doesn't work, oh well... "Activating fusion ability. Chaotic End!"
A fitting name for his final ability. Dragonus disappeared and was replaced with an unlikely Bakugan: Destroyer. It glowed in its Clear attribute. It gave energy to Calvin's BrawlX, which the audience will remember being Disaster Launcher. Destroyer was then swapped out with an audience favorite: Geos. Calvin then transferred Disaster Launcher's energy to Geos. Geos held up its spear and projected a giant meteor to appear right above Gorem's head. This was done so that Gorem couldn't simply reflect the attack or use any normal defense against it. If something was going to work, this was it.

Gorem didn't expect to have a meteor being within inches of crushing him. Luckily, he had something for this, or he'd be a goner.
"I'll hold you to that..." Allen responded to Calvin's statement. "Ability activate. Pulverization." Gorem pointed Purge at the giant meteor. A bright, brown light shone from the mirror-like center of the axe. When it came into contact with the meteor, the sound of a mining drill could be heard. This is because Pulverization grinds the target into dust. The meteor that was supposed to inflict great damage on Gorem at the very least was seen being broken up into tiny pieces. Eventually, the meteor wasn't even a problem anymore. Its pieces fell into the water.
"So that's that then..." Gorem concluded. He watched as Geos disappeared and showed Dragonus again. Gorem pointed Purge towards Dragonus. He lit the axe to threaten the use of Pulverization on Dragonus, which should definitely finish him off in this state.
"You said you'd give up, so here's your chance," Allen offered. "I'll be generous and give you five seconds. Anymore than that, and I'd be placing myself at risk. You understand."

Calvin used the five seconds Allen gave him to let this sink in: he lost. For the first time in his life, he was defeated in a brawl. He smiled as if he was excited instead of looking disappointed. Of course, he's disappointed, but in a way, this is a good thing. This is just a new challenge for him to overcome. Will his fans see it that way? Maybe they will if he spares them the sight of Dragonus being knocked out.
"I understand," Calvin acknowledged. He turned his BrawlX off, then placed his hands out in front like he was telling Allen to stay away. This was the way of saying, 'I surrender', in brawling language.
"He...did he just..." Yuji muttered in disbelief.
"It happened... It really happened..." Miko acknowledged in as much disbelief as her brother. Even the ref couldn't believe it. Even when Dragonus returned to ball form and grayed out in Calvin's hands, no one wanted to believe that he just lost. Nia did though. She was bawling her eyes out in Rumi's arms. Somehow, Calvin could sense this. He was sad to think about that, but...it is it what it is.
"I gave it all I had, and then some. You just have more, and that's without you using your Advanced Fusion Ability. If I do anything else, our health will be in jeopardy. That's the way it is, even if I hate to say it. I lost," Calvin summed up.

"..." Allen knew up to the last moments that his victory was very likely, but it hadn't quite set in yet. Him and Gorem were more shocked than everyone else. Even his parents, who had a secret watch party at their house - which Alana's parents attended - were shocked. They were crying too. If Allen wasn't trying to play it cool, he probably would too. He remembers losing to Alana - who was Karen at the time - at nationals. He never showed it, but it stung a little to not have that grand final against Noland like he wanted. There was something about settling the score with Noland that always pushed him. Even now, he built himself up to not get left behind, but never thought he'd be in a position like this. He thought an honor like this was guaranteed for Noland, but it wasn't. It was Allen alone who did it...and he didn't have the words to express how satisfying it was that HE is now the greatest brawler in the world...by technicality of course.
"...This really sucks... I just did what is quite possibly the greatest thing any brawler has ever done - other than saving the world more than once of course - and I don't even know what to say..." Allen expressed.
"Understandable. We didn't see this coming after all. You better come up with something soon though. You're now the most popular guy around. I am in a way too, but the humans seem to take up all the interview time," Gorem believed.
"I guess you're right..." Allen admitted. He was still lost for words. It wasn't just for himself; Calvin just lost his unbeaten streak... "I'm sorry, Calvin... I never played this scenario through my head... I don't know what to say that wouldn't get me down if the shoe was on the other foot..."

"Ha! I get it. Same here..." Calvin understood. "That's good in a way... No one plans to lose after all, so why think of what you're gonna do when it happens? You just have to be ready if it happens...and I don't think either of us were ready... Especially everyone watching..."
Calvin thought back to when he beat DeAngelo. The result shocked the brawling world of course. It took a while before anyone acknowledged that Calvin won. This battle's result may be the same. Maybe not though. The manner in which Calvin beat DeAngelo was controversial for the simple fact that Dragonus never actually hit Scorpion directly. Everyone's attitude must've improved since then. Maybe the #1 brawler can lose without the challenger being accused of cheating...
A referee finally came out, but before declaring the winner, she told Calvin and Allen something off-the-record: "Sorry about the delay... We made a quick change... A certain someone volunteered to do something special..." she informed them. And with that, she declared Allen the winner. On cue with that declaration, the crowd let out a thunderous roar of congratulations and applause. Then, with the 'quick change' the officials made, the referees cued for party glitter to be dispersed throughout the arena. It was a mix of attributed particles of energy donated by a special group of six people.

The responsible party was the other Resistors. A surprise guest was there: Seiki. She happened to stop by and allow for everyone to do something nice for Allen and Gorem and stay out of the way. They didn't want their presence to steal the moment. Plus, Seiki felt like she had to be included in the episode in some way. Well, Ahio did.
"Even though we haven't fought anyone in this episode, ya'll still found a way to squeeze us in. You do care," Ahio expressed.
"...Wait...this isn't glitter..." Jadyn began to notice. When a particle touched her skin, it dispersed into a firework-like explosion of even more of the same-colored particle. "How did you all do that without anyone seeing you? And when did Seiki show up?"
"We were here the whole time," Ahio claimed.
Seiki looked down at the arena and thought over everything Allen did in that battle. "It's all about who can make the best decisions in the worst situations." she remembers Skystar quoting from Gladion. Seiki could see this being the case. Allen could've lost several times during that battle, but the way he kept his composure to make the decisions he made gave him the win.
"I think I'm starting to understand everything a lot more now, Tracy," Seiki kept to herself. "...I think I know what I need to do to get on your level now..."

It took Yuji and Miko some time to come to terms with the results. The atmosphere of astonishment in the room went away when the attributed glitter mesmerized everyone. Suddenly, Miko was filled with joy despite her favorite brawler losing.
"Calvin did good..." Miko believed. "He went down fighting... That's all anyone could ask for if it came to him losing... Allen's very special..."
"Allen's the man..." Yuji admitted. "And he's just a senior in high school... I can't believe just how bright the future is for this young man... "
"This is the only time in history where a high schooler defeated the #1 ranked brawler... Yes, this is probably the only time when a high schooler was able to brawl the top professional, but it still counts," Miko reported.
"And it was a stressful one to watch too... Kept everyone on the edge of their seats. What a way to cap off a historic event. Congratulations to both brawlers. Despite Calvin's loss, he represented the pros in a big way. Him being able to hold his own against a Resistor as powerful as Allen is nothing short of amazing. I know Calvin's fans will be disappointed in his loss, but be excited! The top competitor being within the realm of challenging the Resistors, I'm all smiles about that, and you should be too. We'll talk about all of this in detail when we come back. There are a lot of good things that happened in this brawl. We'll show them to you."
Allen returned to the hallway feeling a little...stunned. Even Gorem had to pop up beside him in robed form to see what he was thinking.
"I thought you'd be more excited. Still hasn't hit you yet?" Gorem wondered.
"I thought up a couple of post-battle routines, but none of them felt right. It's not like I won a championship... This is more important than winning one, but playing it cool in front of the recruiters and his fans made more sense in my head," Allen believed.
"Smart..." Gorem understood.
"Normally, I wouldn't care about appeasing my opponent's fans and just do whatever, but Benjamin kinda ruined that for us. Last thing we need is anyone comparing him to us ever again... I know I shouldn't, but I should ask him what he thinks about us being here while his career's basically over," Allen shamelessly suggested.
"Disrespectful, demeaning, and totally uncalled for. I like it," Gorem agreed. "By the way, did you come up with what you'll say to Jenna?"
"Huh? Uh, no. Should I? Us winning kinda speaks for itself...right?" Allen was getting confused thinking about it...
"Well, come up with something...now," Gorem advised. He returned to ball form and perched on his shoulder. He wanted a front row seat to the upcoming interaction. As Allen was walking through the hallway, he could spot Jenna standing by.
"...I get the sudden feeling...that you knew she was here this whole time and said nothing..." Allen thought in his head.

"...Maybe I should've waited like everyone else... What if being here is weird...?" Jenna thought to herself. This is something close friends or a significant other would do; yet, she's here, and she better come up with a non-awkward thing to say or do quick before people get the wrong idea...
"Very impressive strength, Gorem. Your opponent was quite formidable, but you showed everyone just how strong your will to win is. It's inspiring," Geos commended. "On another note... I'm very surprised to see a human possess our energy... It feels very familiar somehow, a lot more familiar than seeing the Bakugan for the first time..."
"...Huh..." Jenna could only conclude that Geos may have been gaining his memories back. That was good to hear at least. "I'm so proud of you, Allen... You're amazing..." she started to express.

"Much appreciated, Geos," Gorem kept short. He wanted Allen to have the most talking time. For obvious reasons, of course.
"Thanks, but you're just as important for this moment as we are. If you hadn't been here to talk me out of that rut I was in... I don't think I can picture how much worse off I'd have been. As sad as it is to admit it, the pressure did get to me..." Allen believed. "Plus...I didn't want to let you down just in case you bet on me this time...if you bet on me that is. You did bet on me, right?"

Jenna was slightly taken aback by Allen's question. She didn't expect him to remember such an irrelevant detail during their talk at the hospital. He did anyway. He really listened to her. She was so happy that she almost forgot to respond.
"O-of course! I mean, naturally, I would. That'd be terrible if I supported you earlier and then bet against you," Jenna responded after seconds of silence. "But, outside of the whole World Championship thing, I truly believed that you could do it," she then claimed. "Everything that Lian said about you, I believed. You'd need will as strong as yours to even do what you did. The way you stayed calm and focused against an opponent like Calvin, I just knew that you were different than how you were about to go in. I'm so happy that I was able to help in some way..."

"Hm...that pause and that look on her face... She seemed happy that you bought up a detail that would easily be missed. You're doing good...so don't mess this up..." Gorem recorded in his mind for Allen's sake.
"I'm glad to hear that...and I'm thankful. More thankful than I could express in words..." Allen responded with a smile. "So...um...I hope this doesn't sound weird...but I'm sure everyone else is gonna celebrate in some way, and...well...I'd - we'd - be happy if you tagged along. I know that wasn't originally part of the plan, so I understand if you say no..."

"Well...I did tell him the plan upfront, so he'd expect me to be home at a certain time... Still...if he trusts you all to bring me here, then - logically - he should trust you to bring me back... I'll just run it by him to make sure, so 100% yes, assuming there aren't any problems," Jenna decided. 'Him' was referring to Father Tinsley, or just Edward for all they knew.
"You know what...? I just realized something. You're the most popular guy around now, so some important people are gonna be waiting out there... And I'm here with you..." she began to realize. "I'd hate for all the attention to NOT be on just you... Not that I'd take any of it away, but I'd feel bad if they started asking me questions out the blue while you're the one they should focus on..."

Allen cracked a satisfied smile from hearing Jenna's answer. He almost disregarded what she said at the end, but only because he didn't care. In his mind, he already has enough attention. A distraction in front of whoever's waiting to talk to him won't hurt. Still, Jenna gets an A+ for caring enough to make that observation.
"I'm not one to hog all the glory anyway, so I'm good with that. But, if it comes down to it, I got it. They have to listen to me now," Allen figured.
"Sorry to interrupt. I'm getting a lot of movement outside. Unless you want to talk to people from all 50 states, you better get out there now," Gorem warned them.
"..." Allen got an idea from what Gorem reported. Maybe it'll be to everyone's advantage if he waits... Everyone will see what he's getting at soon, or maybe for another month or two.
"Hm...Jenna, I'd like your opinion on this. Would you go Division 1, or go pro right out of high school?" Allen asked just to start up a conversation.
